When the water in his small, secluded village abruptly runs dry, aspiring Adventurer and inventor Midoriya Izuku is selected, alongside his soulmate, to embark on a perilous journey across the desert in order to restore it. Izuku is excited at the chance to prove himself, but there's a problem: his soulmate is Bakugou Katsuki, who is as talented and impressive as he is arrogant- and who wants nothing to do with Izuku at all.

He knows he’s finally at peace, probably even living a new life somewhere else, yet deep inside, he couldn’t allow himself to move on. If only Izuku tried harder, then maybe he would have been able to save Tenko Shimura. That was the duty of a hero, right?
2 months after Izuku rejected Katsuki's offer to join his agency, the latter ghosts him, Izuku is unable to explain his true reasons as to why he did.
