Summary
War is brewing in the continent of Archanea. Emperor Titus Medeus of Dolhr has a vision of a vast empire with himself at the helm, and he's committed to making it a reality. By Archanean year 602, he's allied with King Michalis of Macedon, King Jiol of Gra, Archmagus Gharnef of Khaedin, and King Ludwik of Grust. Cornelius of Altea and Johann of Archanea, too, have fallen beneath his might.
In 604, however, Johann's youngest and only remaining daughter, Nyna, reaches Aurelis and begins putting together a plan to stop the expansion of Dolhr. Having smuggled the Brazier, Archanea's holy symbol, out of the palace on the fateful night of her family's demise, she crowns Elice of Altea the new Brazier-bearer, Champion of Archanea and a beacon of hope. Together and with other allies from Talys, Aurelis, and all over the continent, they form the Archanean League to oppose Emperor Medeus' conquest in what history would later call the War of Shadows.
Despite the gravity of their purpose, Elice and Nyna don't get along right away. In fact, they manage to get all over each others' nerves. And yet, even amidst the brutal war and everything that's on the line, love may bloom between them...
