Jason studies his crinkled confession of love, he could not send this, he refused to disrupt his friendship with Leo even at the cost of never saying anything at all. He would be quiet for years and years and he would watch Leo get married to a beautiful, funny and kind woman as he stood to the side as his best man. Jason would take care of his children, come over for Sunday lunch and watch football with Leo next to him and Jason would steal glances as he stood to the side of Leo's life to come.

Leo sometimes loved to look up to the bright sky and he would think of Jason's glittering eyes and he would hope that past the clouds in other lifetimes things had been different and this was the odd one out. He could only possibly hope that this was the only one where things ended like this.
He wished above all else that he had the courage to express how deeply he felt before his death and not in a stupid note while he was rotting in a grave. If only he was brave enough to say goodbye.
