“Bye Loof! Have fun!” Sabo calls back. He smacks Ace on the chest. “Dude, eat that in the car. You gotta go, or when you show up Shanks is gonna spray you with the hose.”

They were all chatting amongst each other in glee, just as they always were when he first heard and sensed it. Before he could even address it, a cabinet swung open, and a little girl tumbled out with a startled yelp. She glanced up at everyone, wide-eyed and confused, before cowering and retreating to the corner of the kitchen, clearly frightened.
His Nakama were a rowdy bunch. People would not hesitate to call them deafeningly loud if they weren’t trying to be at least a little respectful. He was aware of that, and he’d even admit that he could be loud himself at times. But he also recognized a scared child when he saw one.
