“You were asleep. You had a night terror. I can't blame you.”
Simon watches the blood drip from Grace's nose. He knows exactly what that blood tastes like.
“I hurt you,” Simon says, like Grace is slow. They both know that Simon is the stupid one of the two, even though Grace is too nice to admit it.
Grace shrugs. Like it's no big deal that Simon woke him with a punch to the face.
“Sometimes you get hurt.”

Summary
Grace grabs his glasses and puts them on so he can make sure that the person next to him is Simon. He needs to know that Simon isn't a figment of his imagination.
His boyfriend's face comes into focus. Simon is more awake each time he blinks, eyes focusing on Grace. Wrinkles of concern settle between his eyebrows and on the top of his nose.
“Ry?”
Grace makes out Simon's torso with his hands. Smooth skin. Hair. The dip of his navel. Scar tissue. Nipples. The peaks of a few too many ribs. Simon is real. He's here. Grace didn't just invent him out of loneliness. Grace remembers him. Remembers his body and how it feels.
“Baby,” Simon says.
“Sorry. Sorry. I—nightmare.”

Summary
Armin always feels inadequate when it comes to his peers - they offer to carry his things, to share his blanket, to help him with whatever he wants. As nice as this sounds, Armin hates how much damage it does to his pride. Still, when he refuses Eren's offer to share a blanket during a particularly cold night, Armin is left to freeze. Until Jean decides to help.

Summary
Falling in love wasn’t something soldiers got to do.
It wasn’t for them. They had a duty. A promise they had to keep. Love could happen once they retired, but members of the Survey Corps didn’t live long enough to receive that luxury. They would die long before they got to find out what it was like to love someone, to court them, to marry them. Soldiers dedicate their hearts to a cause, not a person.
Then why, Armin thought, was he letting this continue?
