He was exhausted, Kyojuro hated to admit. The train took a bit from him, constantly watching out for others did.
When a demonic force — bigger and scarier that he has ever felt — right after he taught the Kamado boy how to stop the internal bleeding, he admittedly cursed inwardly.
After a brief back and forth — the beginingni to the main course of the banquet — the demon, Akaza, tries to get him to become a demon with an outstretched hand.
Kyojurou cursed that hand.

kyojuro hates his job (this ONE time), Akaza was made into a babysitter (horrible decision, Muzan) for the other UMs, Inosuke is complaining about the length of the night and Tanjiro is so confused.

“I will help you defeat the Demon King,” the demon announces, though that sentence is clearly unfinished. Giyuu stops breathing when the demon points right at him, “but that Slayer is mine.”The Slayer Corps is losing the war against Muzan.
Kyoujurou is an old and powerful demon able to help them defeat the Demon King—but he won’t do it for free.
Giyuu makes a deal fully expecting the story of his life to turn into a body horror, but willing to make that sacrifice.
Kyoujurou hopes for it to turn into a romance instead.
One of them is right.

The battle with Enmu takes just a few minutes longer, and Akaza doesn't manage to land the finishing blow on Kyojuro before sunrise. He's starving, and he doesn't care that a child watches their father die in front of them to satiate the hunger he feels.
He doesn't care until the child sees him as someone who is safer than her father.

“Um—” Akaza turns around to look at the girl, who was now back in the doorway. “Why did you…” he takes a second before he follows her gaze to the splattering of blood and brain matter.
“I was hungry,” he says simply, because it was just that. If he hadn’t been hungry, he might have not even cared to stop to look further into the house. “It’s as easy as that.”
