When Mydei finally emerges from the Sea of Souls after nine harsh winters, the most precious thing in the world to him isn’t his name, his body or his life. But two words he can’t remember the origin of: Aedes Elysiae.
As the years pass in exile, he finds himself plagued by knowledge that comes from the same maybe-past or maybe-future that wasn’t quite Mydei’s and yet was.
It took four years for him to stumble across Aedes Elysiae, a boy that calls the place home, and why those words were engraved upon his soul.

Phainon was having a shitty day. He woke up late, almost got fired, and then got home to find out that the game he's been obsessed with for the last several years was finally too much for his 20-year-old laptop to run correctly. Plus, this OP-as-shit character named Flame Reaver came out of nowhere and almost nuked his character to oblivion.
Oh, then he got fucking transmigrated into the game of Star Rail.
...Why did stuff like this only happen to him?

Summary
Phainon is not happy with the latest game he's played. What's the point of a romance game if there's no actual romance in it? Fortunately, he gets the chance to fix that problem himself!
Phainon knew from the start he shouldn't have listened to Cyrene when she recommended this game.
A romantic story, she'd said. The love between the two main characters was supposedly life-changing. So why, oh why, was Phainon still crying his eyes out an hour after finishing it?!
His eyes drifted back to the console, still on and lying on top of his comforter. The title screen greeted him as it had for a few days now, and Phainon couldn't prevent the pang of betrayal he felt in his chest. A pink, flowery background with a beautiful princess standing on the left side of the screen was first shown next to the title, 'Antilas don't bloom in spring'.

Summary
Of all the stories he’s read, Phainon would’ve never chosen to reincarnate into this one. It’s a messy world, not because of complex political schemes or endless, cruel wars, but because the lore is all over the place. Even the wiki has partially given up on certain plot points– and that certainly says something.
Oh, and also because there is a character who shares his name, and it’s a character deeply loathed by the fanbase, Phainon included.
Unfortunately, whoever plopped him down in this story hasn’t heard his misgivings, and so, here he is: the fake hero of Amphoreus, Phainon of Aedes Elysiae.
