Summary
Auto memories dolls, usually just referred to as Dolls, are people who write at the request of others. Specifically, a doll must be able to decipher the clients true feelings, and put them into a letter. Of course, some dolls are tasked with more mundane jobs; like copying addresses, making missing persons reports, and writing quick business letters for those who come into the office. A doll is more likely to have specific requests if they are well known, and Xie Lian is certainly not a well known doll.

Xie Lian, a former Major in the army, finds a peaceful job as an Auto Memories Doll. And even though he's not nearly well known enough to be requested for letters, it doesn't bother him. So then why, after four years of working as a Doll, is he suddenly getting a request from far out in the country to write a love letter?(No knowledge of Violet Evergarden should be needed to read this fic! Everything will be explained <3)

Summary
Olruggio wrapped his arms around Qifrey’s waist and pulled him close. He rested his chin on Qifrey’s shoulder, warm and real and solid. Qifrey returned the gesture, his eye sliding shut. He let out a breath. They remained that way for a long while, leaning against each other. This could not ease Qifrey—he’d managed a delicate balance that allowed him to indulge in these small ways while retaining his ever-present fear—but Olruggio’s weight became heavier and heavier as he relaxed into it.
Qifrey could do these things for Olruggio; he could take care of him, though it would never make up for everything that he had done.

Summary
Olruggio sits up with a gasp, panting. His blankets are tangled around his legs. Already he is forgetting the dream that woke him. He remembers the cold gleam of starlight, the sensation of falling, a brimmed hat. He shakes his head, grasping at the gossamer threads of the dream as he tries to remember, but the details elude him.
He flops back on his pillows and stares up at the ceiling waiting for his heart to slow. Unfortunately, this has become something of a regular occurrence. Why can’t I remember? He thinks, frustrated. But then, dreams are like that, he supposes. All he knows is they’re getting worse.
Or, Qifrey learns what happens when tampering with memory spells has unintended consequences.

“Ah, but—” My hands. Qifrey wants to tell him no. These hands have only ever hurt you.
(Or—Qifrey wakes up curse-free and blind. He's not fine, but Olruggio is there, so it's going to be okay—they have the rest of their lives to work through it together, after all.)

“I’m home, San Lang,” Xie Lian greeted with a tired smile. “Sorry again that I ended up being gone for so long. I really thought it would only take a day to deal with it all. Mu Qing even ended up calling down additional officials to help us speed things up.”
Xie Lian yawned, striding around the corner of Hua Cheng’s throne-like seat and lightly plopping down in his lap, snaking his arms around his neck and nuzzling his nose into the soft and cool skin of his throat. He felt Hua Cheng tense under him, his arms hovering around his torso for a couple of seconds before he started to relax. Hua Cheng’s arms slowly enveloped him, his hold becoming more and more secure as Xie Lian continued to nuzzle his neck.
“I’m just glad to finally be home…” Xie Lian mumbled, giving in to another yawn and closing his eyes. As Xie Lian’s breathing evened out, Hua Cheng was left with only one possible conclusion. That this must all be one extremely detailed, extremely evil, and extremely happy dream…
Or, Xie Lian unwittingly gets hit by a time travelling spell while fighting demons and is sent back to a time where he and Hua Cheng have yet to reunite.
