    Summary

It does mean missing out on things like barbeques and team dinners sometimes, but it’s not as if he would have been able to participate anyway. At this point in his life, risking someone not taking his allergies seriously would mean potentially missing games, which makes it unacceptable. Jackie always makes sure he has a dish or two that’s safe when he’s over at their house, but if he was going to be the one guy sitting and drinking ginger ale instead of taking part in sharing nachos or Korean barbeque or burgers or any other delicious thing he goes in knowing he can’t have anyway, there’s no point in making a fuss about it. He eats at home, has a drink with everyone else, and he calls it a day. Easy. Safe. Foolproof.

But also the reason it doesn’t occur to him that he hasn’t actually told Ilya about any of his allergies until it becomes immediately relevant five days into being at his cottage together.

(how ilya learns about shane's food allergies) (and how shane learns what it's like to have someone who always saves him a seat at the table) (and who also makes sure there's food he can eat on the table to start with)

    Summary

In 2007, Shane Hollander pathetically falls in unrequited love. It’s the biggest mistake of his life.

In the years that follow, it becomes almost easy to pretend Ilya Rozanov never really existed at all.

In 2014, Ilya Rozanov signs with the Toronto Guardians. He's determined to make Shane remember exactly what he once felt, but seems to have forgotten the many ways in which he ruined Shane Hollander's life.

    Summary

Shane was fourteen the first time a number felt like safety.

The nutritionist worked out of an office in Kanata, framed certificates, a calm voice, laminated charts with columns. She explained it simply: fuel in, output required, timing of each. She said it was a starting point.

Shane took notes in the margins the way he took notes on everything—completely, past what was required. Yuna had found the nutritionist herself, sat beside him, and took notes too.

    Like mother, like son.

Fic centered around Shane's disordered eating and his relationship with Yuna which results in two very difficult fights. Has some lovely writing and motifs.

    Summary

”It’s not bad” says his mom, carefully. “Very Canadian, sponsors are happy about that.” That, and not much else, he can tell. A loon is neither masculine nor impressive. A disappointment, to those who hoped he’d have something like a wolf, himself included. His dad tries to bake him the traditional settling cake, in the shape of the new adults’ daemon, but his cake decorating skills aren’t great, so it mostly looks like a grey football. And Shanes’ strict diet doesn’t allow for cake.
