Levi has worked at Liberio’s aquarium since he was a teenager.
The struggling aquarium brought in two mermen a few years ago in an attempt to attract more business. Since it was well known amongst his coworkers that Levi was the only one who could handle the mouthy, playful mers he had been designated as their official caretaker from the start. They’re little (big?) shits, but Levi loves them anyway.

His large hand strokes through Levi’s hair; he forces down another whine.

His eyelids flutter, heavy, uncooperative. Erwin continues to pet through his hair, strong fingers pressing gently against his scalp.

Summary
After his passing, Levi wakes up in a ruined Shinganshina 500 years after The Rumbling. “That is what you want isn’t it? ” he whispered. “All this sound and fury but you like this little game as much as I do. You’ve been waiting for this… to have someone force you in your place. To take over and have you mewling like a kitten. Panting and begging underneath me.”
He slid his face down into the crook of Levi’s neck, licking a line down as far as his loose-collared shirt let him. Levi laughed. Still didn’t move.
“Fuck…. you.”
“Mmm.” He hummed slowly, thoughtfully into his skin. Eyes drifting to meet Levi’s.“Ask me nice.”

Turning to the centre pages of The Eldian Herald, Falco finds a double page spread titled “Heroes of the Eldian Nation: Commander Erwin Smith, 13th Commander of the Survey Corps.” At the head of the page is an imposing picture of a handsome grim-faced man mounted astride a rearing white horse, holding his sword aloft as if poised in mid charge. The caption beneath reads: “Dedicate your Hearts! Erwin Smith, the last great commander of the Survey Corps”. Curiosity piqued, Falco sits down to read.
Intrigued by an article he reads in a newspaper, Falco questions Levi about what the 13th Commander of the Survey Corps was really like.

Erwin Smith, a prolific researcher and writer, embarks on a cultural tour of all fifty states. After months of networking and interviewing in far more populated areas, he finds himself in rural Louisiana. Once there, his journey takes an unexpected detour: his rental car gets stuck in the mud.
After a series of unfortunate events leaves his car broken beyond use, he's forced to stay in a local family's mysterious—and haunted—stilt cabin. Lucky for Erwin, his situation is not all bad. Amidst the backdrop of the Louisiana wilderness, he feels a pull that transcends time towards one specific local. Distant memories jumble in the back of his mind, some that he's certain don't even belong to him. He's drawn to Levi, seeking answers through their strange connection. It feels, almost, like he's forgotten something—something, or someone, of great importance.
