Summary
Friendship and love are things that are learned. They are given as a gift, wrapped in sugar and dripping with syrup, unbearably sweet for those unaccustomed to their taste. Still, Albedo has known love before, so the taste of friendship is nothing but pleasant on his tongue, a gentle reminder of love’s overbearing sweetness when he takes his place amongst the others.
Now, what of grief? Of betrayal? Some might say its taste is an easier one to acquire, but for someone who has basked in the perceived affection of another for so long, what more could they do but hurl? Because grief is easy. Being sad is not.
In the end, who wouldn’t falter before their sibling’s unloved grave?

Summary
Ever since his return from Inazuma, covered in burns and bruises, Aether had not spoken.
Rumours travelled fast, and so did the speculations they brought with as they went. There was talk of a broken heart, grief about his twin’s loss, or simply the exhaustion of the Traveler’s arduous journey finally getting the best of him. However, none of them felt completely accurate to those who had come to know Aether personally.
Out of all of the words used by others to describe the Traveler’s condition, Albedo, instead, found it most fitting to liken it to a deep state of mourning.

Summary
There was an unconscious man lying on the bed in Harvey's clinic.
When Abigail, Sam, and Sebastian had come rushing in with a limp body dangling in between them at around 1 a.m. this morning, his primary focus had been set on providing first aid without any regard to the unusual circumstances surrounding their frantic arrival. Now that the dust had settled and the patient had been deemed stable, however, it left him with a question that none of them were able to answer:
What were they supposed to do with a man that nobody in town knew the identity of?

Summary
“Good day to you, sir,” hummed Kaeya as he slid in next to the latest treasure hoarder hotshot, a glass of Death After Noon (watered down to about a third of the alcohol level) in one hand and a bottle of dandelion wine in the other hand. “I don’t think I’ve seen you before.”

Summary
“Why do you keep coming back to my shrine?”
Aether looked as Scaramouche remembered him. Golden hair with more golden eyes. They seemed to hold the sun’s glow and locked it there. His scarf fluttered where the wind stroked it, and he appeared ethereal for a moment until he stepped into the shadows of the shrine to get near Scaramouche.
“There’s nothing here but dirt. It’s basically dying.”
“It’s your shrine,” Scaramouche pointed out, and he couldn't remember any other explanation.
Or: He had one too many names, bestowed by each different god he served, printed to his skin like brand. Only one god had ever earned his loyalty.
