Her mother looked at her for a moment. Then she put her arm around Coco's shoulders and pulled her close, so close their bodies could have merged if it were possible.
"I am going to make sure you will." she promised. "That's different from okay right now. But it's what matters. It's going to be okay."
Coco leaned into her and decided that was a good enough answer.

The shattering of glass above her screams danger as she throws herself flat in the gravity stream to look up at what's causing such a ruckus, only to see two silhouettes and a storm of jagged glass from the shattered window shooting her way.
Time stills. Looking up at the glare of the midday sun, now unshielded by the sunroof, Agott's eyes strain, and yet she perseveres by peering through at the shadowy figures looming above. One petrifying thing about their forms comsumes the air in her lungs as she readies herself to scream, a silent plea running through her mind for her mother to hear, some fifty floors away.

Summary
The Yellowjackets were rescued from the Canadian wilderness about 2 weeks ago, and home is now a strange word accompanying an empty vacuum of space. Each member is consumed by something: rage, greed, denial, envy, regret, fear. If these things control their lives, they will be lost forever. But with the revelation that Lottie Matthews is missing, they think recovery is put on the back burner.
The girls want to believe "home" is still Wiskayok, New Jersey. The entity known as The Queen wants them to believe it's the wilderness. They'll have to realize that they are each other's closest thing to home if this mess will ever be resolved.
