Kenny rolled his new heterochromatic eyes. "Thanks, Leo. Good to know I'm still a hot stud while all my friends have superpowers."
Kyle, who was still stuck on the damn ceiling, glared at them all. "Well, if we're all done calling Kenny pretty, can someone please get me down from here already?!"

The clouds overhead have begun to drift away as moonlight settles over them, and Nie Huaisang is finally able to catch a glimpse of the man on the ground.
Or rather, the boy who hasn’t been alive for the past fourteen years.
And thus brings him to the surprise fourth scenario. One that is nearly impossible to predict but isn't completely outside the realm of possibility.
A bend in the universe, an otherworldly occurrence, a magical force showing its hand beyond their understanding.
Time travel falls into such a category.

The story picks up after the events of Brothersong and follows Ewan Ford, a man who defies categorization, listens to his bones rattling on bus windows, and has endured more pain and loss than most. Fleeing from his past, he finds himself in Green Creek looking for a job. There, he reckons with a town tangling with his roots, the weird Bennett Cult constantly trying to recruit him, and this one really cute old man who can't seem to get enough of him. Eventually, he discovers that he might actually be meant for the place and for the people in it. And they, for him.
