Work Text:

”It’s warmer inside, you know?”

Seokjin rolls his eyes and continues to lean on the balcony, as the snow slowly falls down. Namjoon stands next to him and his presence is lumbering as usual but it makes Seokjin light up right from his toes, to the snowflakes in his hair. Seokjin turns to look at him. Face bare with an oily nose and a spot on his chin, big glasses slightly crooked from falling asleep in them.

Seokjin loves him. But nobody needs to know that so Seokjin flicks his nose instead of falling into his dimples for the millionth time.

“I’m fine, Joon. Go back to the party.” Seokjin says quietly. He turns away to stare down at the snow as it piles up. Behind them is a warm home full of laughter and music but here is quiet . Seokjin much prefers the quiet.

Namjoon turns and leans against the railing and looks through the sliding glass doors. Seokjin is okay at parties, he’s good at being social but he’s introverted at heart. The quiet buzz of the city from up high is healing. The cold burns his lips and the snow that had made home on his eyebrows now drips down his face but he’s happier outside.

Seokjin closes his eyes and listens to the wind change directions ; only to open them again when he feels something being tugged over his head. Jin splutters and Namjoon’s laughs as he tugs the cardigan hole over Seokjins head. Quite literally frozen to the spot, cheeks getting redder, Namjoon ever so gently manoeuvres Seokjin until Namjoon’s big fleecy sweater is on him, the arms going way past his palms, making Jin curl his fingers against the fabric happily.

Namjoon smiles and his eyes turn to crescent moons.

“It’s too cold. Don’t die, alright?”

Seokjin shuffles in the big sweater and hides his lovestruck face facing the other moon, the one in the sky that’s not so infuriatingly charming.

“No promises.”

The sliding door opens and shuts and Seokjin is alone with Namjoon’s sweater and his smell and his feelings all fucked up.

Their heatings broke. Namjoon had been to pick up an old heater from a charity store and put in in the living room, not enough to really warm them up but better than nothing. Jin shivers beneath his blanket that he pulled over his head to make a tiny cocoon and listens to the shitty hallmark movie that’s on whilst Namjoon makes them some coffee. It’s the coffee that Namjoon smells like too, it’s strong - because they both like it that way - but it’s so strong is clings to you but somehow it never leaves Namjoon.

He enters, walking very slowly and Jin sinks into the blanket to hide his wobbly smile at how cute Namjoon is. In his mismatched socks and ‘writing’ shirt. He wears a white button up when he’s studying because he think it helps him stay focussed and professional but pairs it with his naruto boxers. Seokjins a man, he’s got hair, but Namjoon’s a whole mammoth. Dark hair insulates him everywhere - though he has a patch on his inner thigh that just doesn’t grow hair ever since Seokjin waxed it for fun one night.

He makes it over and Seokjin carefully takes his coffee, ignoring the stupid brush of their fingers. He shyly enjoys the way he bounces up as Namjoon plops down next to him, obviously spilling some coffee onto his leg and the couch. Their white couch which is horrendously stained with coffee (Namjoon) and hot sauce (Seokjin). Seokjin grumbles when his blanket is stolen and starts a whiny ‘Ahh-‘ but before he can really get to it Namjoon drapes it over both of them and grabs Seokjins hip to pull him closer so he’s pressed against Namjoon. Stunned silent, it’s all Seokjin can do but to sit his coffee down on the table.

“You’re so cold, your fingers just don’t conduct heat.” Namjoon sighed, grabbing Seokjins hand and holding them between his own two warm hands, eyes firmly on the hallmark movie. Seokjin figures that there is only one blanket and one heater and Namjoon’s a bit awkward at intimacy but after about four years of living together they’ve about seen all there is, a bit of cuddling for heat conservation isn’t much.

Seokjins rapid heartbeat completely disagrees but he tells it to shut the fuck up because he’s Seokjin, a fearless acting major with nothing but confidence, but then Namjoon’s side profile shows off his cute little nose that scrunches up unconsciously from fighting off his third cold of the month and he succumbs to his fate. He’s so in love.

“Don’t know why you make me watch these fucking films, they are a scab on cinema and story telling.”

“Would you take a role in one of these movies?”

“Of course I would. You know how much money those things make? Plus it wouldn’t be bland with me in it, I can actually deliver convincing dialogue, emotion, posture. I would make bank and change the culture.”

“You’ve planned this all out already, haven’t you?”

“You don’t think Korean Aunties wouldn’t go absolutely crazy for a handsome korean man to be the lead in a wholesome catholic christmas romance movie?”

“Fuck. You’d be a national hero.”

“Precisely.”

Seokjin cries when the rumours spread. He’s crying surrounded by stolen hoodies and jumpers, scattered on the floor as he sobs and sniffles into his knees. Phone lit up from the group chat messages.

It was true, that Jin liked to take sweaters from his hookups. He exclusively slept with men bigger and - when he got lucky - broader than him and took a big broad hoodie back home simply because he likes feeling small in his clothing and he also is perpetually broke. And yes, he’s taken a lot. He sleeps around a bit but is that a bad thing? Fuck no. He’s an adult man, he’s safe and he also lives with his perpetual crush and victim of dirty fantasies Kim Namjoon, who he cannot fuck. No one really cares until you accidentally sleep with a closeted gay guy with a girlfriend who is hurt and reeling and decided to tell everyone you’re a huge massive slut who will fuck anyone and doxes your phone number.

The gross texts from random people, making fun or being serious is enough to have Seokjin full blown panicking and the posts from some of his ex hookups about how he’s a slut and a thief is what makes him really break down into hysterical crying.

Seokjin hears the front door slam and tries to stop the sobbing, but can’t really control his hiccuping. He hopes Namjoon won’t kick him out, or hate him or - he doesn’t really even know what’s worse than Namjoon hating him. He feels the door swing open and shrinks into himself, almost curling into a ball to try and hide.

“Fuck!” Namjoon shouted and Seokjin inhaled deeply expecting more but all he heard was rustling from around him. When he felt brave enough to look up, Namjoon was piling on hoodie after hoodie into his arms, angrily muttering under his breath.

“N-Namjoon, what -“

“This ones mine, right?”

It was the sweater from the balcony. Jin slowly nodded, tears still rolling down his cheek and Namjoon pressed it into Seokjin’s hands.

“I’ll give you mine. I’m getting fucking rid of all those bastards stupid sweaters and burning them. I’m going to get Yoongi to do some fucking hex on them, motherfuckers.”

Seokjin blinks as Namjoon furiously grabs hoodies and sweaters - somehow knowing what’s not Jin’s and what is. Namjoon’s not a very angry person and when he is it’s hardly explosive. Seokjin doesn’t even realise he’s crying again until Namjoon’s dropped all the sweaters in favour of wrapping Seokjin in his arms. Seokjin falls onto Namjoon chest, weakly sniffling as Namjoon’s hands rub up and down his back, knees bracketing Seokjins body. He’s struck with the feeling of home and he moves out from Namjoon’s chest in favour of resting on his shoulder, smiling to himself at Namjoon’s angry forehead scrunch.

“Don’t be so angry, I mean, I did steal their sweaters. I probably deserve it. Cosmic justice.”

Namjoon blinks at Seokjin in that distinct Namjoon way that says ‘are you an idiot’.

“Taking a hoodie from a hookup is hardly anything to warrant harassment. Also, doxing is much more illegal. Also fuck the cosmos, I’ll fight them.”

Seokjin sits up a little and wipes his nose, eyes stinging now from all the tears.

“Did you report them?”

“I reported them.”

Seokjin sighs and settles back into Namjoon’s shoulder needing the comfort but startles a little when he feels a gentle kiss being pressed to his temple.

“Take any of my hoodies and don’t look for anyone else anymore. Okay?” Namjoon says quietly.

It’s vague enough where it means nothing and everything all at once. It’s a promise, a question, a confession. Seokjin feels his heart battering against his chest and he can hear Namjoon’s too. Seokjin nods into Namjoon’s neck.

“Okay.”

The unspoken thing remains as such. To the outside world nothing has changed but inside the walls of their dorm and in the space between their hands when they walk - it’s everywhere. Seokjin doesn’t leave the dorm as much - he’s a homebody anyway and he never liked going out unless it’s to Yoongi’s for food. He also hasn’t worn one of his own shirts in a month. He’d feel bad but Namjoon’s sweaters are bigger, warmer and more Namjoon-ish. They’re all from charity shops and have some odd charming story behind them Namjoon made up.

“The grey one with a coffee stain is from a night-shift worker who can only eat his oranges upside down and likes coffee lukewarm, perfectly room temperature. His kids don’t visit a lot since they left for school but the yellow bellied bird he feeds ate from his hand on Wednesday so he’s happy.”

Jin looks down at the coffee stain and sincerely hopes that the man has a good night shift.

What has Namjoon done to him?

He’s not focussing on his lecturer. He doesn’t bite his pencil like Namjoon does but he does pick at rubbers. Fuck. Namjoon, Namjoon, Namjoon.

Eventually the class ends and Seokjin hurries to get back to the dorm so he can not work on any essays and wait for Namjoon so he can nag Jin into a study session together. Seokjin shoves his sweater paws under his armpits as he walks out into the snow and blows out a breath to see it wisp away. He’s quite happily going to stand and watch as the snow falls until he feels a coat being pulled around his shoulders.

Seokjin blinks the snowflake from his eye and smiles at Namjoon.

“You came to kidnap me and sell me off to pay your student debts. I knew that was your plan all along.”

Namjoon laughs and begins to walk towards the dorm.

“You think you’re worth enough to pay off my loans, Hyung?”

“Of course I am. Look at me, idiot. I’m absolutely gorgeous.”

“True.”

Seokjin stops walking as he feels heat flare from his stomach and feels his ears burn. Namjoon keeps on walking but turns when he realises Jin isn’t beside him.

“Too much? Ha.” Namjoon lets out an awkward laugh, scratching the back of his neck, a dimple popping out his cheek from his embarrassed grin and Jin doesn’t really need the jacket anymore.

“Nope. Let’s go, I’ll make some ramen.”

Namjoon nods but as he looks down seems to notice the coffee stain on the shirt and smiles.

“Do you think he’s asleep right now?”

Seokjin smiles back and catches up with him.

“I hope so, he’s got night shift, remember?”

Hoseok and Jimin have just officially finished decorating their apartment. It has Hoseok’s sense of style, bright colours and fun patterns mixed with Jimin’s impeccable taste. The fairy lights strewn about the place in contrast with the fun graffiti Taehyung did on the walls. Seokjin thinks he’d love to design his own apartment, wonders how he’d incorporate Namjoon’s love for wooden tables and plants into a home and catches the thought and immediately feels himself blush.

They’re all just sitting, having their weekly catch up. Jungkook’s loudly whining about his art deadlines with Yoongi almost falling asleep on his chest. The thing about Jimin and Hoseok’s apartment is that they’re hardly in it. Two extroverts who like to go on dates, see their friends and live in the dance studio they run. Basically the heating in their apartment isn’t on much. Seokjin is feeling the cold. Taehyung is enthusiastically listening to Jungkook, holding his hand as they both passionately rant about their projects. Jimin and Hoseok are always cuddling, so they’ve curled into the corner of the couch both teasing and annoying the two art students about their whining.

Seokjin curls into himself a little more. He’s tired from late night essays and memorising lines and it’s making him feel the cold more. He’s smiling dozily at the sounds of being surrounded by his friends, eyes shut as he drifts. The couch dips next to him, and a blanket is pulled over him and Seokjin blinks awake to see Namjoon covering them both with a blanket. He hadn’t even noticed he’d gotten up. Namjoon smiles at him and runs his hands through his hair.

“You should do your homework when you first get it. Not the night before.”

“Hmmnn, you should shut the fuck up.”

Namjoon laughs and shuffles closer, gently guiding Jin’s head to his shoulder. Namjoon wraps his arm around Jin so he’s tucked into his side, legs curled over Namjoon’s. Seokjin blinks up at Namjoon who grins shyly.

“You’re doing your acting exams soon. Can’t have you getting a stiff neck.”

Seokjin breathes in that warm coffee smell that reminds him of home. He’s reminded that next to Namjoon, he always feel like home. Home is warm, it smells like coffee and it’s quiet. Seokjin puts his hand on Namjoon’s cheek and sleepily guides him down so they’re nose to nose.

“I love you a lot. Okay?” Seokjin whispers, eyes dropping shut as he takes in Namjoon’s wide eyes and red cheeks. He shuts his eyes and kisses Namjoon gently. Namjoon is still for a second before he pulls Seokjin closer and rests his hand against his cheek. Seokjin rolls his head back onto Namjoon’s shoulder and sucks his lips in to hide his big dumb smile. Namjoon’s wide eyed and grinning like a mad man and Seokjin can’t stop himself from kissing his dimple.

“I cant believe you’re going to fall asleep after our first kiss.” Namjoon breathes out and Seokjin hums, a smug smile stuck on his face.

“Did you two just confess? Like. Literally just right now?” Yoongi shouts; Apparently he’s awake now.

“Pretty much.”

“I fucking hate you both. You’re literally awful. I was asleep and you decide to get together after fucking five years of disgusting dumb pining. I cant believe this. Jungkook please kill Jin with your bare hands.”

“Hyung, I can’t! They’re in love!” Jungkook sniffles and Jin falls asleep in Namjoon’s arms ; finally not cold anymore.

Seokjin is flushed all over, panting quietly as he nuzzles into Namjoon’s neck, knees on either side of Namjoon’s torso as Jin grinds his hard cock against Namjoon’s stomach, whines muffled as he bites down on the jumper between his teeth. He’s too caught up in trying to find a rhythm to notice when Namjoon’s woken up and is staring up at his flushed face, eyes shut as he chases his pleasure.

Cold hands grab onto his hips, under the sweater and stop his grinding and Seokjin drops the cloth from his mouth in shock as he looks down at a very smug Namjoon. Seokjin feels his entire face go red and sits up, ass planted onto Namjoon’s torso, the feeling of his own precum spread against Namjoon’s stomach making him squirm.

“That’s a fun way to wake up.” Namjoon says in his deep morning voice and Seokjin can’t help his impatient bounce as he rests his hands on Namjoon’s chest, playing with his nipples.

“You’re so pretty, baby.” Namjoon smiles and moves his hands up to Seokjin’s ribs “And in my sweater too.”

“Mn, Joonie.” Seokjin huffs, feeling embarrassed and trapped by Namjoon’s gaze. He lets out a clipped moan when Namjoon cups his ass and sits up so that Seokjin is on his lap, hands meekly folded on his chest. Namjoon presses a thumb against Seokjin’s lips and watches as Seokjin opens his mouth and sucks the digit, eyes shutting contentedly. Namjoon pulls his thumb out with a pop and trails it down Seokjin’s chin, smearing his own drool into his skin.

“Love your lips, so soft.” Namjoon says and squeezes Jin’s ass as he says it, making him squeak and press even more forward onto Namjoon’s chest.

“Joon, you’re cold.” Seokjin huffs, trying your ignore his flaming red cheeks.

“Hmm?”

“Wanna warm you up.” Jin whispers quietly, running his hands over Namjoon chest before he leans over and takes Namjoon’s glasses from the bedside table and places them on. Namjoon kisses his nose and his cheeks and his chin.

“Thank you, baby. Want me to see you? Want to show me how pretty you are?”

Jin nods and starts to grind against Namjoon’s stomach again, stuttering moans leaving as slowly moves himself.

“Wan’ you to fuck my thighs.”

Namjoon breathes in harshly and raises an eyebrow at Jin, who feels himself get hotter at that.

“You can get off on that?”

“You know I can. You’re really hot, you look like a professor. Want you to bend me over a desk one day.”

Namjoon seems to fully wake up at that and grabs Jin’s thighs and pulls him to the opposite side, successfully manhandling him onto his elbows, with his ass up in one movement. Namjoon kisses the centre of his spine and moves his legs so they’re pressed tightly together.

“I love you.”

Seokjin smiles and grips the sheets.

“I love you too.”
