Work Text:

Izuku felt soft lips press against his. His eyes shut as they meshed together, his hands snaked around her back, hers in his hair. He could feel her hair brush against his hands, her beautiful chestn- golden... beautiful golden locks of hair. It went perfect with her warm chocolate ey- no... her deep, sea blue eyes.

He felt her lips detach from his, pressing kisses along his cheek, down to his jawline. She continues to the underside of his jaw, his neck, down to his collarbone. She sinks her teeth into his collarbone, causing him to moan, "Ochako~"

He feels the pleasure of the woman's mouth on his skin stops, causing him to open his eyelids. Sitting on his lap was Melissa Shield, wearing a disappointed, yet concerned expression. "Izuku..."

It took a moment for Izuku to register what he had said. "O-oh my god." Izuku buried his face in his hands," Melissa I'm- I'm so sorry. I just- Ochako used to- I-" he was silenced by the girls who had cut him off. "It's ok Izuku. I- I understand."

Izuku felt like a piece of shit. Melissa had just confessed to him, and he moans someone else's name while making out with her. Someone else...

Melissa tapped him on the shoulder, bringing him out of his thoughts. "Izuku, if you don't feel the same way about me it's alright. I can take a rejection." She gave him a smile, that seemed genuine for the situation. "I'm sorry. I do think you're really pretty, and super intelligent and kind. And your determination on the field, it inspires me so much. The way you way you've trained to master your quirk, is just..." His voice trailed off. Melissa isn't a hero. She doesn't have a quirk. She isn't...

"I won't tell you how you should feel, you were closer to her than anyone else was, but she betrayed us. She doesn't care about you Izuku, about any of us. We were just tools for her to use for her own gain." Izuku felt his heart clench. Thinking about what happened. What she did. What he failed to do. It broke him everytime.

It was supposed to be it. The raid to stop Tomura Shigaraki. To end his league of villains and everything about them. So why. Why did there have to be a traitor? Why did one of his classmates have to be apart of the league?

Why did it have to be her?

Izuku was pinned on the ground. A giant chunk of rubble was on his legs, keeping him down. He would normally be able to break right out of it, but he couldn't. He was hit by a quirk nullification drug, much like the ones Overhaul had produced. He was in pain, but the physical pain was the least of his problem. His heart, that was completely shattered.

In front of him stood Ochako Uraraka, his best friend. The person who saved him from falling at the entrance exam. The person who changed the name Deku to be that of a hero. The person he had fallen in love with. The person he shared his first kiss with. The person he shared his first time with. The person he confessed his love to.

The person who said she loved him back.

So why? Why her of all people? His tears were pouring from his eyes. He couldn't speak, he could barely think. He only watched her from his flooding eyes, staring down at him. "Sorry Midoriya." The knife in his heart twisted. He was Deku. Her Deku. So... "Why?" She tilted her head at him, looking at him cry in pure heart break. "Why? How could you do this to us? To me?"

She stared at him for a moment, before turning around. She began to leave the area. "Don't walk away from me! Why?! Was it all fake?! Everything you told me? Deku being the name of a hero?! Wanting to be with me for the rest of our lives?! I- I love you Ochako... I-I-I thought you did... I thought you did too." She stopped walking, tilting her head back towards him.

The tears coming from his eyes weren't like any he'd shed before. Not when Katsuki bullied him for years. Not when he saved the boy from the sludge villain. Not when All Might gave him his quirk. Or even when All Might beat All For One. This was the pure feeling of absolute, guttural betrayal. Like the one thing he trusted all his life, the one thing he knew he could fall back on, wasn't there when he fell.

"Goodbye, Deku."

Present

Tears began to fall from his eyes. The same question he asked her, years ago repeated in his mind. Over and over again.

"Why? I t-thought you d-did... too..."

He felt Melissa wrap her arms around him in a hug. His arms stayed down at his sides as his face was buried into her shoulder. Her arms were slowly rubbing his back as he cried. Cried about his biggest regret in life.

"I-I-I c-ouldn't sa-a-ave her... I f-failed."

"No. No you didn't, Izuku. It wasn't your job to save her. She chose what she did. She joined the League of Villains, she wasn't some hostage." She continued to hold him as he cried. The pain he has endured. All of his burdens as the number 1 hero, the Symbol of Peace. This was one he couldn't handle. The thought that if he tried harder, loved her more... he could have kept her with him, by his side.

She pulled away from the hug, rubbing a hand through his hair. "I'm gonna get going, i need to get to the company before Mei blows something up." Izuku gave her a slight chuckle, knowing the destructive capabilities of Mei Hatsume. "Izuku." He tilted his head up to her. She was still taller than him, even both as adults. "If you ever need anything, know I'm here in Japan now, permanently. Just give me a call and I'll be happy to listen."

Izuku let off a small, shaky smile and a nod, prompting her to get up. She gave him one last smile before kissing him on the head, leaving him in his apartment. Turning to his dresser, he pulled out a picture frame from a hidden drawer inside. Inside the picture frame was his favorite picture.

It was a picture taken once everyone had returned from their hero work studies in freshmen year. Ochako and he stood not to far apart, clanking fists together. That fist bump was... was magical. It was words from Minoru later that day that caused him to accidentally tell her he loved her. Tears splashed onto the picture frame, the glass saving the actual picture from being ruined.

"I just want to hold you, one more time."

Ochako Uraraka sat in a barstool. On her right was Dabi, speaking to Mr. Compress. Spinner was twirling a knife in his hand on her far left, Himiko Toga jumping in glee as he was. She sat alone, staring into her hands. In them was a photograph.

Izuku and her, were next to each other, clanking fists together. It was later that day. It was when he told her he loved her.

When she told him that she loved him back.

She wasn't lying either. She was in love with him, she still is to this day. Everything she ever told him was the absolute truth. She wanted to become a hero for money. Her parents were the most important part of her life. Deku sounded like it had the vibe of 'never giving up', and would make a great hero name. That she wanted to have a family with him one day. It broke her, what she had to do.

It was a while after they had started dating when she got a phonecall from her parents. Himiko Toga was at her house. That crazy, psychotic, bitch was in her parents home, threating to kill them. She had been given the order to kidnap them since Tomura knew Izuku was All Might's successor. Getting Ochako, Izuku's best friend and girlfriend, onboard would crush him.

All she could do was comply, become a villain with them. She loved Izuku, so much, but her parents were... she couldn't just let them die.

She jumped when she felt a hand place on her shoulder. It was Jin Bubaigawara, Twice. While everyone in the league was cold to her treated her like trash, aside from Himiko who treated her the same as before, Jin was kind, in a way. He accepted her among them, even though she still hated everyone of them.

"Remembering old times? Just forget the past!" She looked at him, nodding, before looking back down at the picture. He watched her contently, before offering, "Would you like it again? It's really no trouble. Don't make us do it again, it was such a burden!" Again she nodded.

A few minutes later Ochako was lying down in her bedroom. The lights were off, only the moonlight from outside being let through the blinds illuminated the room. Pulled close to her chest was a ball of untamable, forest green fur. A pair of scarred arms wrapped around her waist, folding over the small of her back. Muscular legs, intertwined with her own. Her left hand stroked through the curly hair, her right holding onto a broad shoulder

It was only a clone though. It wasn't real. Not the real Izuku. Not her Deku. She shut her eyes as tears welled up.

"I just want to hold you, one more time."

Notes:

I had a blast writing this one. I definitely want to do more Villain AU stuff in the future, and may even give this specific story a sequel.

Anyways I hope you liked this one.
