Chapter Text

Kujo Jotaro doesn't believe the phone call at first. How could he? His mother in jail? He tried to comprehend what he was hearing, as the officer on the other side hung up. He stood in the empty kitchen for a few minutes, putting some thought into what to do next, before picking up the phone again.
-----
Joseph Joestar prides himself in being able to sleuth out people's true intention before they even begin to speak. So when he picks up the call he gets from him daughter's home in Japan, he's sure that he's going to hear his wonderful Holly tell him about her son or something else important she saw along the day. What he wasn't expecting was to hear his grandson's tense voice come though saying a few simple words, "Mom's in jail."

The words come out simple but they carry a truckload of questions which came pouring out immediately. "W-WHAT? What happened?! What did she do? Oh my God, did she kill someone??" Jospeh hears his grandson on the other side of the phone sputter a bit before clearing his throat. "No. She didn't kill anyone, you idiot. The officer said she got into a fight with some thugs. What I can't understand is how? I mean, some how between 4 thugs, she broke 15 bones."

Jospeh stays silent for a moment. "Jiji? You there?" An annoyed Joatro speaks through the phone, uncertain if he might have scared his grandfather off. The older man clears his throat, "Ill cancel plans immediately. I'll be in Japan as soon as tomorrow." He hears his grandson hum and then the phone beeps, signaling the call has ended. "That little brat-"

"Mr. Joestar?"

Joseph turns, coming to face Avdol. The Egyptian man looked confused, "Was that Mrs. Kujo you were talking to?" The older man lets out a sigh, before beginning to explain the situation.
-----
Kujo Jotaro arrives at the police station, already more annoyed than he'd Iike to be. "You're sure you're talking about Holly Kujo?" The shorter officer, let's out hum and looks at his clipboard again, "That's what the papers say." He taps the clipboard with a pen before continuing, "Holly Kujo, Age 45, She is American with British descent. Her husband is Japanese and is a jazz musician. Her son is 17 and is currently attending highschool."

Jotaro lets out a sigh and sticks his hands in his pocket, "Yeah, thats her. So what happened?" The taller officer leans over the shorter, "She got into a fight with some thugs. Apparently, those guys were armed with nunchukes and knives!" Jotaro tilts his head, confused and a little scared. His mother taking on people like that? And some how she won? "They were sent to the hospital due to their injuries." Jotaro nods a bit, trying to understand what exactly his mother had done.

The taller officer speaks again, "Even though she's you mother, try to make sure she doesn't do this again!" The teen doesn't respond to that, simply watching the shorter man walk over to the main desk and handing the clipboard over to the woman behind it. "The real problem is what happens afterward." The shorter chuckles, turning back to Jotaro, "Your mother is quite the oddball." The teenager isn't sure what that means, but he follows after the officer as he begins to walk to a door.

"We'll show you the way." The shorter man says, walking forward into the dark hallway as the officer behind him closes the door. "Well, anyway, please take her home." Jotaro didn't believe he could be more confused but this situation proves him wrong again, "She's being released already?" "Well, we can't keep her forever." The shorter continues to talk but the teen tunes him out until he hears him state that his mother's cell is just up ahead.

He breaks away from the officers, running down the hallway. He can't believe this, his mother can't be in jail. His mother, who he was so sure until 2 hours ago, wouldn't hurt a fly. He won't believe this. Not until he sees her. Not until he-

"Jotaro?"

The teen stops and turns to the cell, and he sees her. His mother is standing inside the cell, her hand around the bars. Jotaro feels an overwhelming sense of anxiety well up in him, but he masks it well with anger. "Why the hell are you here?" His mother lets out a uncharacteristic chuckle, "Sorry, I forgot to tell you."
