Work Text:
Alice stood in front of the door to the Demon King's workroom, deciding it would be best to interrupt his work to inform him that it was getting late. It was unhealthy of his lord to overwork himself as much as he did, and he was beginning to grow worried.
And so, he knocked.
"You can come in, Azz," The Demon King immediately replied with a sigh, tiredness in his voice.
As Alice walked in and quietly shut the door behind him, the drained state of his king immediately caught his eye. With furrowed brows, he looked down at the piles of paperwork surrounding his desk. "Your highness, it is late, and a proper king needs his sleep to rule his kingdom. You can always finish the rest of the paperwork in the morning, there is no need to work yourself out like this."
Iruma sighed, putting his pen down. "You're right," he agreed.
A small smile appeared on Alice's face from the lack of protest. "Would you like me to fix your bed and get you a cup of warm tea?"
Iruma looked up in contemplation for a moment, considering that offer. "Yes, I would like that."
Alice let out a pleased hum before turning away to open the door, waiting for Iruma to follow. When he heard no sound of movement, he looked back in confusion.
"Ah, my legs seemed to have fell asleep from sitting all day," Iruma complained, a teasing expression on his face constrasting his words as he looked at Alice knowingly. "Think you could carry me there?"
Alice's mouth fell open a bit as a small blush began to flush his cheeks before he cleared his throat, barely regaining his composure. "Y-Yes, of course I can!"
Iruma watched Alice as he walked towards him, smirk never leaving his face even as Alice's arms wrapped themsleves around him, picking him up in a bridal style carry. Iruma then placed his arms around Alice's shoulders, securing his place there.
As Alice walked with him down the halls, he couldn't help but flick his gaze downwards towards Iruma, watching his blue haired king rubbing his cheek against his chest, eyes closed and humming with content. Alice also couldn't help the wobbly smile that was now growing on his face.
"Iruma-sama, are your legs truly asleep? Or did you simply just wanted me to carry you?"
Iruma opened an eye, "Would it be a bad thing if I wanted you to carry me?"
Alice felt his heart quicken at the confession, "No, no I suppose it wouldn't."

Once Iruma finished changing into his pajamas, feeling comfortable enough to do so with Alice still in the room, he let himself be carried once more. Alice fluffed up Iruma's pillows before gently placing him on the bed and tucking him in. As he then turned away to go make the tea he promised, he felt a hand on his wrist, stopping him.
"Stay. Please," Iruma weakly protested, and Alice didn't have the heart to deny him.
It wasn't the first time Iruma pleaded for Alice to stay with him until he fell asleep, so his request wasn't something that was out of the ordinary. What was abnormal was the desperate look in his eyes and the way his fingers tightly dug into his wrist, both silent pleas, begging him to stay.
"Okay," Alice breathed in agreement. "Shall I pull up a chair?"
Iruma shook his head and released his grip on Alice's arm so he could scoot to the other side of the bed. "Could you sleep with me here? Just this once?" he asked, patting the empty space beside him.
Alice's mouth pressed themsleves into a thin line, "Iruma, you know I can't."
Iruma frowned, "No one will know, Azz. It's just this one night."
"...Fine. Just this one night," Alice finally agreed, succumbing himself to his sickenly adorable Iruma, who was now pouting like a stubborn child. Oh, if only people knew how their Demon King actually acted like behind closed doors.
As Alice took off his hair tie and let his long hair spill down to his shoulders and beyond, he was hit by a sudden realization. "I ... I don't have my nightclothes, and I can't sleep in my suit. If someone catches me bringing my clothes here, they'll become suspicious of me."
Iruma waved a hand dismissively at his worries, "It's fine, just take it off and sleep with whatever you have underneath."
Alice's face began to grow extremely hot and hoped his blush wouldn't be visible in the darkness. "A-Are you sure?"
"It isn't like I haven't seen your bare chest before. It's fine."
Alice supposed he was right, and he began to shed off his suit, trying (and failing) to ignore how Iruma's eyes were following every subtle movement he did. He then bent down so he could neatly remove his shoes and slide the socks off his feet.
When his fingers grasped the waistband of his trousers, Alice looked back up to Iruma for confirmation. "Are you sure this is okay?"
"Just get in here, Alice," Iruma said, the tone in his voice not with annoyance, but instead with a familiar warm fondness.
With a sudden burst of adrenaline that came from Iruma using his first name, Alice eagerly kicked his trousers off, leaving only his boxers on, and went into the bed. On the bed he shifted his body so he was laying on his side, getting a good view of his beloved.
Under Iruma's eyes were ugly dark circles, and his blue hair was ruffled and messy; a result of the hard work a Demon King had to go through each and every day. However, despite it all, he always wore a bright smile, and the gentle, caring nature that was a core part of Iruma's personality was never lost.
Alice didn't think it was possible to love Iruma more than he already had, until he saw the man laying on his side beside him; eyes closed and a small smile on his face, so open and vulnerable and only a mere inch separating them.
When arms then began to wrap around Alice's torso, he didn't even flinch, instead he immediately proceeded to return the gesture, taking in the warmth that was Iruma.
A pair of soft lips then brushed against his ear, whispering a three word confession.
Alice tightened his hold on Iruma, bringing the other man impossibly closer.
"I love you too."
