The Day Off

Summary:

THEY LOOK SO PRETTY WHEN THEY BLEED
Blood Loss | Internal Bleeding | Trail of Blood

Notes:

I was told by my server friends that I shouldn’t stress in getting these chapters out so rushed, and that I should go my own pace so I’m going to do that and make sure the chapters are fine to read. Sorry ‘bout that.
(I also put a Lost reference in there if anyone knows what it is ;))

Work Text:

12:00 am Oct. 10

Izuku woke up with a start, chest heaving as he remembered claws, no, spikes digging into his chest as he screamed at a boy to run. The intakes of breath he tried to take didn’t help much as he was still suffocating.

Was it a dream?

No. It wasn’t. It was real.

Izuku awaited the pain and braced for the impact as the pang of a spike pierced his head.

He knew something.

But, with a tired thought he closed his eyes.

Let’s sleep on it.

Groggily, eyes opened to reveal emerald green orbs. The green light from the familiar yet skeptical alarm clock shone as he felt tiredness pull at his bones. Green hair messy and ruffled shifted as he moved to sit up.

“Deku-kun~!” Izuku felt every muscle in his body stiffen and alarm bells ring in his head. Turning his head towards the voice, he saw yellow eyes staring  at him from his closet.

“Toga Himiko…” his body was screaming at him to run. To get the teacher or yell out. But he didn’t. He couldn’t.

“Oh my god you still remember my name! Deku-kun you’re making me love you even more and more!” Izuku felt nauseous again as he watched her move like prey watched for predators.

He looked down at the ropes that were tied around his hands and ankles, feeling uneasiness swish in his stomach.

“Why are you here?” His teeth slightly chattered against each other as he spoke, a shiver going down his spine.

“I couldn’t help it! You looked so good in blood at the training camp, I just wanted to see more of it! I tried to hold back, I really did! But you’re too pretty all beaten up and bloody, so Shiggy is allowing me this chance.” He didn’t know how but she was suddenly next to him with a glinting knife, a glare of light hitting her eyes, making her look of bloodlust intensify. She let her hands roam his chest as she squealed in delight.

“Don’t worry! Today will be your free skip from classes.” He did need a break from class for at least one day, but not this way. He tried to dodge the blade as it swiped at his thigh. He wasn’t so lucky next time as it made contact with the higher part of his leg, air hugging around it making his wound sting. She made another swipe at his abdomen and Izuku bit his lip so as to not wince as the familiar feeling of pain greeted him.

He couldn’t speak. Why couldn’t he say something? He could speak, but he couldn’t.

“What did you do to me?” Toga only giggled at him as she licked the blood off of the knife.

“Nothing much, though the doctor did have this thing that was like the truth serum except instead of making someone tell the truth, it keeps them calm and quiet and only allows the person to speak when they’re not struggling. Cool right?!” Izuku did not like the sound of that.

“Now hold still, I’ll cut you up real nice!”

Izuku didn’t know how long he was laying there, but he was tired as the blonde started collecting his blood in a big cup. Her sighs of delight as she drank the cup was disturbing but he couldn’t really do anything about it except listen to her gulps.

“That should last the full school day or more! Have fun Deku-kun~!” Izuku could only watch in agony as she slipped to the door.

“Wait a minute! I almost forgot!” She walked back over to him and took something out of her shirt pocket. It was a small jar.

With a spider in it.

Izuku’s eyes widened as he look at it trying to escape the small container.

“This is called Latro-something-regina. I like saying the Medusa spider though! She’s a beauty isn’t she? The doctor said that she can paralyze someone for eight hours, and not even a doctor would be able to hear the persons heartbeat!” Izuku could only watch in horror as she popped open the cap and put the spider on his arm.

He immediately felt a prick and a small sting.

“It should be taking effect in thirty second. I’ll see you after school Deku-kun!” She then transformed into an exact replica of him and opened the door, holding the key as she waved and locked the door behind her.

Izuku felt panic trying to escape but felt himself getting droopy as his eyes sagged.

A little more sleep wouldn’t hurt. There wasn’t too much blood escaping his body so he should be fine, right?

He slipped his eyes closed.

He woke up to the sound of knocking.

“Deku-kun? You’ve been in there for awhile, are you okay?” He let his eyes go towards his balcony that was wide open as wind blew in. He couldn’t speak yet, the venom effect probably wasn’t fully out of his system yet. He heard a few more knocks before they said they’d come back later.

No , he wanted to say.

Come back.

But he couldn’t.

His wounds were crusty and some of the bed sheets were still damp, but he was still alive.

For some odd reason.

Another minute passed and he could feel his finger start to twitch and toes start to wiggle.

Come on.

Move.

A few more minutes passed before he could finally get something out of his mouth.

“…elp.” He wheezed a little as he got his throat used to words.

With one swallow of saliva to coat his throat, he let out a yell.

“GUYS!” It was almost immediate. Footsteps pounded towards his room and people started talking through the door.

“What happened Midoriya?”

“Do you need something?”

“Are you ready to tell us why you were acting different in class today?”

“Do you need help?”

He coughed a little before letting out a meek reply. He may be nervous to ask for help most of the time, but he wasn’t stupid.

“Guys, help me please.”

The door was busted down, as if they were waiting for him to say it.

“What hap— oh my god, MIDORIYA!”

“Holy shit, dude get him to Recovery Girl NOW!”

“When did this happen?!”

“The bloods crusted up, but we saw him almost ten minutes ago, it couldn’t have dried up that fast.”

“MOVE YOUR ASSES ALREADY!”

Everyone got to work and some helped get Izuku while others went to go get a teacher.

Soon enough, almost the whole staff and class 1-A were rushing as Izuku was rushed into Recovery Girls room.

“I don’t understand how this could happen? Was there a breach?”

“It was Himiko Toga.” Everyone turned their heads towards Izuku as he stared blankly at the ceiling.

“That is correct.” Everyone then whipped their heads around to meet Nedzu, who was standing at the door with a smile, an angry one, but a smile nonetheless.

“Four students left campus yesterday to visit their families. Two of them called and said they were staying while the other two students came back. One from class 2-C and another from the support department. The UA entrance detected both of them arriving, but only the support student was in classes. The 2-C student was nowhere to be seen and the class didn’t see them either. I then got a call from the students' parent who said that he found out his daughter was still in bed, pale, and running a fever. I proceeded to realize that we were infiltrated and came here when mister Midoriya here was found. I seem to be correct that the gate scan the front entrance does not work if someone has a quirk that can make them an exact doppelgänger of someone.”

Everyone nodded and looked back in guilt at their greenette lying on the bed.

Recovery Girl came out of her room with her signature frown.

“Oh dearie, we’ll need to fix you up right away.”

She walked through the people who parted way for her. With an annoyed scowl and waved her hands.

“Space! I need space! Everyone shoo, get out!” The teachers seemed to do it right away along with some students, but there were a few hesitant ones that wanted to stay by their friends' side. In the end, they left, not wanting to face the old woman’s wrath as she wacked at them with her walking syringe stick.

Izuku woke up with a headache and looked to the side, numbers flashing at him in green as memories came up.

“Oh. It’s not a dream.”

He turned his head back around with a dejected sigh of disappointment.

Time to repeat.

He closed his eyes.
