“You really don’t have to come with me Onigasaki-kun. I can look for a present for Yuzu-senpai by myself.”
“It’s okay Miss, don’t worry about it. I also have to buy her a present and going with you might make things easier for me. Plus we haven't done something together in a while, so that's a good opportunity for it.”
He said as he reassuringly patted her head. The pair walked around the big shopping center, fairy lights and Christmas trees, glitter and festive decorations everywhere.
“Wow, kind of cheesy, isn’t it?”
“Yeah, but I like it.”
“Eh, you do Miss?”
“Yeah! Everything looks so cute and everything is sparkling like crazy. I especially love the smell of Christmas pastries in here. And all the cute presents you can buy, for someone else or yourself. ”
“Ohh, our Miss can also talk all cutesie for once?~”
“Be careful what you say Idiot.”
“Okay~ okay~”
“Ahhh there it is!”
Karin walked towards a shelf full of lipsticks, ranging from different tones, colors and brands. The selection was enormous.
“I know that Yuzu-senpai is very fond of lipsticks so I want to buy her one, but there is so much of it...”
“Take your time Miss, we aren’t in a hurry. I can wait. I'll roam around the mall on the meantime. Just call if you are in trouble me. ”
“Thank you Onigasaki-kun.” She flashed him a quick warm smile and turned back towards the big selection of different lipsticks.
Onigasaki-kun took his sweet time, walking around the big mall, looking into different shops and also buying a few small presents for the others. After good 20 minutes he went back to the store where he left Karin. There she stood, with a couple of lipsticks in her hands, waiting for him to return.
"You surely took your time Onigasaki-kun."
"Sorry Miss, I thought that you might need more time so I stopped by some other shops as well. Did you find some you would like to buy?"
“I narrowed it down to these, but I don’t know which one looks the best and I don’t have anyone to test it on as well. Which ones of these looks the best to you, Onigasaki-kun?”
He looked down at her hands and all three of them looked exactly alike, just with a slightly different shade of red. Not wanting to annoy her by saying they look all the same and not wanting to stay in this humid shop any longer, he pointed at the deep red lipstick. She looked a bit dissatisfied with his decisions, looking at his choice and then at the other two again.
“If you don't like my choice, why don’t you try it on and test if it looks good?”
“Don’t be silly Onigasaki-kun, I don’t have anyone to try it on, like, you would never let me-“
“I mean that you try it on yourself. I would love to see Miss in such a color for once, I think it will suit you very well Miss.”
“N-no no, I could n-never!” She stuttered embarrassed by his sudden suggestion.
“Such lipstick with extravagant colors don't suit me at all, that’s why I never wear them. It only suits Yuzu-senpai and maybe also Shizuha-san.”
"Just trying won't hurt, right? If it's not to your liking you can still wipe it off."
"I'm not sure, especially if you're watching me, it makes it even more embarrassing, you'll definitely make some weird comments about it."
"Miss, I'm a bit hurt. Do you really think of me like someone who would do such a thing?"
A quick glare flashed up to him before she looked down on the lipsticks again. He sighed and took his choice for her present, the deep red lipstick, in his hand and opened it. He leaned down, his face extremely close to hers, and before she could say or do anything he had already put it on her lips and spread it somewhat evenly. A bit clumsy but he didn't smudge it which, for a beginner, is pretty impressive. After his bold attempt of putting lipstick on her he looked her in her eyes and grinned teasingly. In return Karins embarrassed cheeks turned to a deep shade of red, almost out shining the lipstick on her lips.
"O-Onigasaki-kun wha- why d-did you do that. Are you a complete moron? Idiot? Pervert?"
"Aww Miss don't call me that, I just really wanted you to try it on yourself and if you wouldn't do it then I'll have to take some initiative. You don't need to be embarrassed like that."
"How shouldn't I be, when you do stuff like that? Give that back, now!" She reached out her hand to take the lipstick from him but he had put his hand up, so that it was far too high for her to reach it on her own now.
"Idiot, Onigaski-kun give it back. Stop playing around! People are already watching!" Her face still red as a beet she reached up again and again in failed attempts to take the lipstick from his hand.
"I understand, I'll buy it so we can leave but please give it back to me."
"I can't, Miss will definitely take revenge on me and we can't have that, can we."
"I would never-" She felt caught. Kai grinned down at her with a smug look in his eyes.
"Now Miss you have to pro-"
She did not even let him talk out, rather she grabbed him by the collar of his jacket and pulled him down and quickly placed her lips on his. The still fresh lipstick on her lips easily painted his in the same colour as hers. This little revenge action wasn't long, but long enough for Onigasaki to let go of the lipstick and let it fall down to the ground where it sprung open and let the liquid inside drip out onto the shiny shop floor. Karin ended this kiss the moment it hit the floor and she looked both horrified and embarrassed by what she did. Even her tall black haired companion looked somewhat bashful by her bold action.
"I-I didn't mean to- I mean I didn't want to destroy it, not the ki- no I didn't intend to do that as well I- I don't know what came over me. I just wanted to pay you back for what you-"
She stuttered like crazy with a burning red face. Kai scratched his head, a slight blush on his cheeks and lipstick on his lips, he looked away from her, not daring to look into her eyes and covering his mouth, not letting her see his embarrassment.
"Don't worry about it Miss, no harm was done so it's okay. I'll pay for the damaged good, it's completely my fault for what happened so don't worry your head about that."
She couldn't get one word out of her mouth and just looked humiliated and defeated down onto the shiny floor that was now sprinkled with red liquid. Instead of going straight to checkout, he went back to the shelf with the lipsticks and grabbed a handful of them.
"W-what are you doing Onigasaki-kun? These are really expensive, you know? I'll buy Yuzu-senpais gift another time. We should just leave."
"I'm sorry Miss, these aren't for Roromori-san."
"Huh? What do you mean?" she finally looked up at him, still not seeing his face, her blushing cheeks finally calmed down to an almost normal color.
"These are for you, I want you to try them on and put them on me in the exact same way as you did now. That was way too short, that's also how you'll repay me for what happened."
He said with a smug look in his eyes, making his way to check out, leaving behind Karin whose brain completely shut down for a moment. She softly touched her lips with her fingers. The things he said just slowly sank in and the more her brain processed his words, the hotter her face got. Karin just wanted to die and nothing more but she had no chance for that to happen as he already came back with a tiny bag in his hand. Just then, she saw him with her lipstick on his mouth for the first time. And she had to admit reluctantly that it actually looked really good on him.
