Done For

Summary:

The first time Kuroo Tetsurou meets Kozume Kenma is the first time he experiences love at first sight. The falling part happens hard and fast. It's Kenma or no one. Too bad Kenma has labelled them friends. He'll just have to find ways to show Kenma how deep his feelings run then.

( basically kuroo is in love, kenma takes his time, tsuki is pining, akaashi is pretty, and there's a happy ending, hopefully)

Notes:

Just a general introduction. Nothing really happens. First meetings next chapter.

Chapter 1: On the Ground

Chapter Text

Light rain drizzled from the sky as Kuroo Tetsurou made his way towards his first class. He had recently transferred to this new university and for it to rain during his first day, he took it as a sign from the gods above that he would have a better time here than he did at his previous university. See, his old uni wasn't necessarily bad but the people that went there were shitty and judgemental which made life hard to live. Him being bisexual was not an invitation for them to stare and gossip 24/7 right in front of him. But that was how small towns worked so one altercation with harshly spoken words later, here he was, starting his second year afresh in Tokyo. At the very least, there was someone to help him out here. That certain someone was currently walking towards him, blonde head held high like the world disgusted him .
" That bedhead of yours keep getting worse. Have you heard of a comb?" Tsukishima kei, his closest friend, snarked. Kuroo let out a snort. "Awfully bitter this wet morning Tsuki! Are you jealous of my hair now? I could show you how I get it this way" he snarked back. Tsukishima Kei was, in simple terms, an asshole but they'd been friends almost their whole life so Kuroo was well versed on dealing with his shitty personality. Tsuki's face soured at the suggestion. He was perfectly fine with his tame-able, blonde hair, thank you. "Are you not gonna offer to show me around? I am new here, you know!" Kuroo teased, moving on completely, knowing full well that Tsuki would rather eat cardboard than act as a campus tour guide. Tsuki, for his part, didn't bother replying instead settling for an unamused glance. Replying would gain him nothing, only incessant badgering and more annoyance.
"Don't you have class to go to? Why are you still here? Go pester someone else"
"Aww! You wound me Tsuki! My class is right over there. You worried about me now? "
"Go away!" Tsuki started walking towards his own class.
"Meet me for lunch, you ass! I dont know anyone yet!" Kuroo yelled after him. There was no reply but that was okay, Kuroo knew he would be there.

Kuroo had always been fond of chemistry. Once set, he liked the smooth flow of reactions and complex experiments that gave satisfactory results. His avid interest in chemistry also helped guarantee the fact that he aced the class almost always so it was okay if he drifted away in class once or twice.
Class came to an end as the professor assigned them reading material. He had some time time before his second class for the day which was perfectly fine with him as he could use that time to become better acquainted with uni grounds. He knew where his classes were and the admin office but that was it. No harm in looking around.
With relaxed, easy steps, kuroo walked around uni with no particular destination in mind. Outside, the rain had given way to weak rays of sunlight and people were milling about, minding their business. He walked past a cafeteria, a technical room, science lab (his personal favourite) and a room full of video games(why? No uni student would have spare time to play games). In a random building he found a nicely done room with bean bags and comfy looking sofas for students to sit and relax. He sat by himself for a while, observing the flow of people around him, content at having to do nothing.
After a while, with the same slow, unhurried pace, he made his way towards his second class. Life would start to get hectic soon, he had to enjoy this no rush time as much as he could.

At the end of the day, as Kuroo settled in his room, he felt a sense of relief wash over him. His day hadn't sucked, some friends would be nice and it would take some time but he could get used to this life. Surely, better days were ahead.
