Rhythmically Off Days

what can be done in arhythmic panic
but sit uncomfortable as the timing is off
counting 4/4 while the beat's 7/8
never quite on time
•
the count off for the first song of the set
done in a rush- unprepared
the band of thoughts attempting to keep time
seemingly calm to the world
•
are the instruments in tune?
are the amps plugged in?
the mics turned up?
perhaps they too just hear static
•
a drummer plays an out of time
the bassist trying to follow along
the guitarist attempts to play the solo
the vocals forgets the fucking lyrics
•
what were the lyrics?
what were the chords?
was the timing 4/4 or 8/8?
what was the name of the song?
•
its hard to tell where the verse ends and the chous begins
when theres 8 different songs being played at once
different keys different times
different styles of tune
•
maybe they werent meant to play in the first place
there was not set list, no plan
just a couple of thoughts with not sense of rhythm
pretending they could be in a band
