It was 3am when tk heard a slamming door that startled him awake. Tk jumped out of the bed and stood in front of his boyfriend. Casey.
"I can't believe you! You didn't think I'd hear about your little flings with that Carlos bitch! " Tk flinched at the yelling "I.. I'm sorry case... I.. It was months ago before we even met.. A.. And" He was cut off by Casey knocking him to the ground with a swift smack to the face "ugh... Uhn " Tk groaned and tried to sit up but Casey just pushed him back down "nah you little whore... You can sleep on the floor tonight" And with that Casey walked away and tk sobbed silently staying on the ground, not daring to move even an inch
*That morning*
Tk was still laying on the floor. He woke up to Casey standing over him "get up! Take these!" Casey yelled and tk bolted up from the ground "I..i can't take those Casey you know that..." Tks voice just barely above a whisper. Casey was standing in front of him holding a bottle of pain killers in his face "you can and you will. Got that!? I just went through so much trouble to get those. So yes you will take them! Or so help me God. I'll-.. " Casey was cut off when tk took the bottle and popped 2 of the pills into his mouth "there.... You happy now?"
Tk didn't wanna take the painkillers but he knew what would happen if he refused.. He had wanted to tell his family at the 126 about the abuse but every time he tried Caseys threats shot through his head "if you ever tell anyone about this you'll regret it!" Casey had once said to him.
Tk walked away from Casey and went into the bathroom "Dammit..." He whispered looking at himself in the mirror. He had a slight bruise on the side of his face. There was nothing he could do about it. So he continued to get ready for his shift.
*An hour later*
Tk had just walked into the station. He went to change and then headed to the kitchen where everyone was sitting and talking.
The room went silent when tk walked it. All eyes we're on him. "Tk what's happened?" Marjan was the first to speak as she pointed to his face "oh this? It's nothing. I just... Tripped over something last night while trying to go to the bathroom" He stated and marjan looked down with a face full of disbelief. Tk walked out of the kitchen
"Alright guys. That was weird right?" Marjan spoke softly "yeah, do you guys believe him?" Judd asked scratching the back of his neck "I don't know... He seemed like he was telling the truth" Mateo stood up from where he was sitting and looked around the room. Owen stayed silent not knowing what to think. A million thoughts rushed through his head. But he wanted to believe tk. He really did but he just couldn't. Something felt off. He finally spoke "alright guys... We will figure this out but we need a plan..."
None of this sat right with marjan. She loved tk like a brother and she'd like to say she knew him pretty well but now she just didn't know. She walked over to Judd "hey can you ask grace if they've gotten any calls from these numbers?" She said showing Judd the 2 numbers on her screen "I mean yeah I can ask, but may I ask why?" He asked putting a note in his phone with the numbers and marjan spoke softly "i think it has something to do with Casey... I mean I know he seemed nice. But don't you think it's weird that it Went from him and tk coming out with us all the time to us not seeing Casey in over a month and tk not hanging with us anymore?" When she put it like that it made sense to judd
Marjan and Judd shared a look then ran over to Owen. They explained to him what they were thinking and he agreed with them "but we can't do anything irrational. Because if we are wrong and we accuse Casey of this it would make him upset and might cause problems. So we need more proof... "
For the next few days. Judd and marjan kept a close eye on tk. And everyday he showed up with at least 1 new bruise and he was always acting weird.... Like... Like he was high.
They were starting to get impatient. Grace had told them that they didn't receive any calls from the numbers. But she said she sent an officer over to Casey's house for a wellness check. But since tk wasn't there the cop though everything was fine.
Marjan watched as tk passed her and Judd. She was drawn to something disturbing... She smacked judds shoulder and eyed tk's neck until Judd noticed. There was a big red mark on his neck. Marjan though she was gonna be sick "Judd we gotta do something... I don't think we are wrong about this.. " Judd sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose "ugh...alright marjan. We'll think of something"
*The next shift*
Everybody was in the kitchen. Waiting for tk to walk through the door. But he didn't... Owen stood up and began to frantically call tk...
*With tk*
Tk was in the bedroom getting ready for his shirt when Casey walked in. "So.. An officer showed up here the other day!... Who did you tell!?" Casey inched closer to him "I.. I didn't tell anyone case... I swear!" Tk tried to plead "oh bullshit tk! You're a liar! How could you tk! You know I love you!" Tk groaned at that "I love the way you lie!" That made Casey's blood boil. And with one swift move he had tk pinned to the wall by his neck. "You must think you're so funny! Yeah well you're gonna regret that!" Tk held onto Casey's arms trying to break free.
Casey let go of his neck. Tk though it was over but when tk fell to his knees trying to catch his breath Casey kneed him in the stomach. Tks eyes widened and he doubled over in pain. Casey pulled him up by his shirt softly and began to punch him over and over again. "GAH! NGH!... Mpf " Tk yelled out in pain as Casey began to kick him as hard as he could
*their neighbor*
Their neighbor was walking past her window when she caught a glimpse of the situation. She quickly took her phone out and called 911 "911, what's your emergency? " Grace's voice rang out through the phone "there's a couple.... And his boyfriend is beating him up. . Oh god now he's kicking him" Grace grew very concerned "ma'am where are you?" "Um the address of the house their in is 219 5th and avenue street. I am in my house and I saw it through my window." Grace's voice grew a bit shaky "alright ma'am help is on the way. I'm gonna need you to stay on the line. What do you see now?" "Um he's still kicking him... "
*back at the station*
The alarm rang out through the building and just when everyone was about to get in the truck a voice rang "THIS IS AN URGENT SITUATION. I REPEAT THIS IS AN URGENT SITUATION, WE'VE GOT AN ABUSE IN PROGRESS!"
Marjan looked at Owen and judd and they jumped into the truck as Tommy and Nancy got into the rig
*back at the neighbors*
The girl continued to talk to grace about the situation giving updates.. "Oh.. Oh he walked away....
The girl looked as the police and firefighters surrounded the house.
She watched as a cop walked up to the door and knocked on the door "oh grace he's back.....and... And he's...." Grace stood up quickly "he's what Carly?!" Carly took a deep breath "he's got a knife!!!"
*outside*
"Officer Reyes. The abuser has got a knife. I repeat the abuser has a knife!" Carlos heard through his radio "captain strand! I'm gonna need you to bust this door open! Now!" Owen looked over as Judd already had the tool in hand. He ran up and hit the door Busting it open.
Carlos and his partner ran into the house and looked for the master bedroom "freeze! Put your hands where I can see them!" Carlos said pointing his gun at the man.
Casey stood up quickly and dropped the knife. "Hehehe fancy meeting you here!" He said and slowly turned around. Carlos got a look of fright when he saw who the Man was. His partner ran over and cuffed Casey. He looked down and saw tk lying on the floor coughing up blood "tk!" Carlos ran over and the 126 spilled into the room. All of them had a terrified look on their face when they saw who was laying there "tk! Tk! Can you hear me!? " Tommy ran over with Nancy and they knelt down beside him "mm y..yea... T..tommy?...." "Yea buddy it's me." Tommy and Nancy began to evaluate him.
"We need to get him to the hospital now. He has a small stab wound that's bleeding out pretty badly! Judd help me put him on the back board!" Judd rushed over with the rest of the 126. They got him out of the house and into the rig. Owen hopped in with Nancy and Tommy and they sped off to the hospital. Marjan, Mateo and Judd raced back to the station to change to go to the hospital.
Nancy and Tommy were working on stopping the bleeding. Owen held onto tks hand as he let a tear slip from his eyes. He only looked up when he saw Tommy doing chest compressions "he's coding!"
