Chapter Text
Kiyoomi looked at his phone one last time and grimaced. The curtains open in roughly two hours but he can’t seem to shake the feeling of dread that came with performing without his bassist. An odd feeling, considering his band The Sirens currently had four chart-topping singles even though the band took a break four months ago.
Four months.
God, the time flies.
Kiyoomi remembered it like it was yesterday, even though the memory was harder and harder to recall under the haze of alcohol he’d built during the break. It’s been a long four months, all of which he tried to fix himself with everything he could find: men, alcohol, he even dabbled in drug use just to feel something.
Bokuto actually had Akaashi talk to him about it as the man was currently in physician assistant school. He was able to convince him to stop but not before crying with Sakusa on the grey tile of his bathroom floor. He loved the man more than his own life, it takes time to get over things like that.
He could remember the feeling of the bright lights against his pale skin, the outfits the band was wearing, and extremely vividly, the last song of the set list..
-
“Thank you all for coming out tonight!” Kiyoomi smiles and waved into the crowd, tight black dress shirt tugging against the hem of his pants as he’d tucked it in before stepping on stage. You would think matte black leather gloves wouldn’t produce a luster under lighting but wrapped around his microphone, it was a sight to see. The band had coordinated outfits tonight. Kiyoomi, Shoyo, and Bokuto had all been wearing black dress shirts, black slacks, and black dress shoes even though each styled the look differently to keep their unique stage personas. The only one out of place was their bassist, Ushijima, who had been wearing a red dress shirt instead of black.
Shoyo admits “forgetting” to mention the outfit change during rehearsal the night before.
“Before wrapping up this evening, we have one last song, consider it an encore for our lovely fans!” Ushijima quickly looked into the direction of his partner, unaware of the set change as well. Kiyoomi disregarded the look and sent Bokuto the signal to start.
As soon as the first drumstick hit, the backlighting of the stage changed to a deep red and the spotlight shifted to Kiyoomi individually. Ushijima had never heard this song before, not at rehearsal, had not seen the sheet music within their home, the man was baffled. The song left no room for a bass guitar so the stoic man had no choice but to sit next to his guitar stand and watch in unease.
“Can we just be… honest?” Kiyoomi started, closing his eyes and relaxing into the silence, only broken by his own voice as even his fans were stunned. This song was new to them as well, a never-before heard song released in concert for the first time.
“These are the… requirements.”
“If you think you can be my one and only… true love. You must promise to love me, and dammit…” Slowly, the ravenette turned his head to face Ushiwaka, a glare of absolute anger building as he sang each line.
“If you fuck me over… I will rip your fucking face… apart.” The other members of the band came alive as the first verse came to fruition. Looking out into the crowd, all that could be seen was a sea of white light, people recording. Kiyoomi had never felt more alive than at the current moment.
The catalyst for this “encore” came only a month prior. The Sirens manager happened to be Kiyoomi’s cousin, Motoya Komori, and as most family members do, Komori had a key to the apartment Kiyoomi and Wakatoshi shared. In the process of dropping off various paperworks to the apartment, Komori had heard voices in their bedroom that were unfamiliar to him… Out of pure curiosity, the brunette padded back to the bedroom only to see his cousin’s partner of six years in bed with a certain redhead.
“Step seven, and this one goes up to eleven...”
“If you cheat, you will die.” Stiffening his shoulders, Kiyoomi peered into the crowd and made eye contact with their personal chef, fire burning behind dark eyes. Shooting his eyes to Ushijima after lingering a bit too long on the redhead. “Die.” All color drains from the taller man’s face, eyes wide with shock but he keeps his mouth shut. He knew he deserved it.
“Could you hold me through the night, put your lips all over my mine… Salty face when I start cryin’..” Unwillingly, the raventte’s face softens when he begins the bridge, tears slowly filling his eyes as he maintains eye contact with Ushiwaka.
“Could you be my first time? Eat me up like apple pie, make me not wanna die… Love me rough and let me fly, Get me up, yeah, get me high… Tie me down, don't leave my side... Don't be a waste of my time…” As he finishes the bridge, the tears are in full force. It’s astonishing how well his voice was able to hide it but he was heartbroken. He loved this man, he’d been in love with him since they were sixteen.. And to throw eight years of love and happiness away for their personal chef hurt him more than he would ever admit, that fact Ushiwaka could clearly read in his eyes as well.
The chorus repeats itself once more, Kiyoomi has to break eye contact to wipe his eyes before glancing at the redhead again, seeing him also crying. He must not have noticed Komori when he saw them together that evening.
“Highschool sweethearts, line up… they’re trying to waste my time.”
“Highschool sweethearts, shut up… if you’re not my type.” A single drumbeat from Bokuto ends the accompaniment and Kiyoomi wraps up the piece, sniffling slightly and rubbing his eyes before smiling to the crowd. His fans knew how upset he is, the man was always so happy and fun to watch but this last song held every emotion he’d felt in the last month, since finding out that his own highschool sweetheart essentially used him. Once they had the fame and the money, he simply found something new to play with, leaving Kiyoomi without even telling him.
“Ladies and gentlemen, give our bassist a round of applause! He played the performance of a lifetime for the past three years, but there is no rest for the wicked and unfortunately, adultery is a sin not soon forgotten and one that has no place in our band.” Behind him, Kiyoomi could hear two soft grunts of approval from Bokuto and Shoyo, affirming that the whole band knew what was going on and had agreed for this to be the outcome.
“That being said,” Kiyoomi looked dead into the crowd, knowing everyone’s eyes were on him and him alone, and made eye contact with Tendou while sending him a glare sharper than any knife.
“Ushijima-san, you can take your whore and move your things out of my house by the time I get home tonight or else you won’t like the outcome.” The sentence concluded with a smile, knowing security would arrive any minute per Komori to escort both parties off the premises as the rest of the band said their goodbyes for the night.
-
He almost forgot that one of his biggest sponsor’s boyfriend was a huge tech wizard and was able to not only record the entire concert but somehow, manage to stream it nationally. Everyone in Japan was able to watch the concert from home. Was able to watch Kiyoomi expose Ushijima for cheating on him for three long years. It was a satisfying feeling but it also physically pained Kiyoomi to think about how much of his life he had wasted on a man who seemingly used him and tossed him aside like it was nothing. So much for love, he thought to himself.
“-iyo!”
“Kiyo!” Kiyoomi snapped his head back to look for the source of the voice and found his cousin walking toward him. He scowled inwardly.
“You don’t have to yell, my eardrums work perfectly fine, you know?” Komori stifled a laugh and placed his hand gently on his cousin’s shoulder in an attempt to comfort the obviously upset man.
“You don’t have to go out there, you know that right? There’s no shame in putting yourself first every once and a while, especially now that everything’s decided to break to the press.” Kiyoomi signed softly, running a quick hand through his dark, tousled locks. He knew the brunette was right but it was the fans he didn’t want to upset.
“This is show business, the show must go on. I’ll just throw the emotion into the music like I’ve always done.” That response earned a soft smirk.
Stepping into the white lights was always stressful, not to mention the heat made everyone sweat more. His makeup crew worked especially hard on his face today, knowing today was a big day for the band after the announcement of the break-up.
“Cheer up, Kiyo! You’ll find your Akaashi one day!!” From behind him, their lead drummer, Bokuto Koutarou chirped as he got himself into place, twirling his drumsticks in his hands happily. He quickly received a glare in reply.
“Not everyone’s as carefree and happily married as you, Bokuto-san. I’m sure he appreciates the sentiment but not the time bro.” The current bassist, Suna Rintarou replied for Kiyoomi while turning his bass one last time. Across the stage from Suna, a laugh erupted from the lead guitarist, Hinata Shoyo; also known as Ninja Shoyo because of all of the crazy jumps and flips he does while on stage. Sliding his trademark black facemask off and placing it in the pocket of his black slacks, Kiyoomi rolled his eyes.
“Shut up, Bokuto. I’ll be fine. Also, there’s a high possibility that I’ll take the set-list out of order. Everyone, come in close for a minute.” Suna quirked an eyebrow at him, slitted eyes gleaming with curiosity.
“Really now? Usually you’re a stickler for the rules? Lookin’ for a change of pace?” The twang of his Hyogo accent coming in ever so slightly.
“Rintarou.” Kiyoomi growls and narrows his eyes at the fox-like male, who throws both of his hands up to surrender. “Anyways.”
“Here’s the set list as it currently stands,” The band gathers around a mic stand, gazing down at the piece of paper.
1. Your Power
2. Leave The Door Open (w/ Rin, lead backup)
3. Promiscuous Girl (w/ Bo, lead backup)
4. Gimme More
5. What A Time (w/ Hinata, lead backup)
6. Good 4 U
“It’s a solid set, we’ve been practicing for months so the order shouldn’t matter much but I reserve the right to go out of order depending on how I feel once we get on stage.” The three men murmur words of agreement to Sakusa’s terms. He can be a diva sometimes but it isn’t often. Besides, nothing wrong with shaking things up a bit.
-
“”Samu, are you sure this band’s any good? I’ve never even heard of them before..” The blonde huffed in disdain, sitting in the passenger seat of his brother’s white BMW X5. Sometimes, being a successful business owner has its perks. His brother simply rolls his eyes and turns the radio down before speaking.
“Are ya that out of touch? The Sirens currently have four chart-topping hits, they’re all over the radio, I’m honestly surprised we haven’t heard one of their songs yet. Not the point. Onigiri Miya is one of their sponsors so I go to their shows fairly often.” Atsumu whips his head around to look at his twin, absolutely confused.
“I listen to the radio all the time, ya scrub! I’ve just never heard of them!” Osamu snorted, turning into the parking lot of the venue the concert was being held in and flashing a pass to the workers in charge of organizing parking.
“That’s surprising. Regardless, you’re gonna love the lead singer. He’s a bit eclectic, he has touch aversion which is interesting to see him with fans and he always wears a black mask unless performing but once he starts singing, I can’t even begin to describe it. It’s amazing to think they’ve only been together for four years. The band that is, they’re fairly new.” Atsumu watched his twin closely, as if trying to find some sort of clue as to the type of concert he was about to attend. Osamu told him next to nothing about the band or the concert as a whole other than telling him not to be busy tonight.
The rest of the ride was quiet, between listening to the radio in hopes of hearing the band they were seeing in just a few minutes and getting the car parked, both were mentally preoccupied. Even without knowing what type of band he’d been brought to see, he still dressed up the way he was told to. He and his brother both dawned tucked in white button down shirts, Osamu with grey slacks and Atsumu with navy slacks, and both with tan loafers on.
Walking into the event, Atsumu felt slightly less out of place. Most of the other patrons were dressed similarly, which put his mind at ease a bit. However, there still was the question of what type of band they’re going to be seeing.
“Are you sure you aren’t secretely dragging me into some sex cult? It’s just a concert, why’s everyone so dressed up?” The darker haired twin audibly snorts, thank god the car was already parked or else he would’ve absolutely jolted it as he laughed.
“Why the fuck would you ask me that? And if I was going to a sex cult, I’d rather go with Rin than you.” The blonde looked at his twin with an offended expression, clutching his heart in a dramatic fashion.
“Rude! But understandable, Sunarin is very attractive.” Now that earned a swift punch to the shoulder from the brunette, drawing out a laugh from the blonde. “I’m kidding lover boy, let's go already. Show starts in forty-five.”
“Then get out and let’s go. Sponsors get backstage and pit passes but unfortunately for you, ya won’t be comin’ backstage with me before the show.” The brunette smiles teasingly, walking toward the venue with his twin in tow.
Upon picking their spots in the pit, Osamu swiftly disappeared behind the curtain and into backstage, leaving his older brother to get acclimated and relax. The venue was built similarly to an old-fashioned, historic American theater from the look of it. Glittering gold and rich reds decorated the interior of the theater from the thick burgundy curtain to the walls and upholstery. On either side of the stage was a single balcony built into the wall, Atsumu noted that one was unoccupied which means they were most likely ticketed but also expensive tickets to obtain. A single, elegant gold chandelier hung from the ceiling above the main sitting area. It was curious to think of it considering it seemed impractical but it was gorgeous all the same.
A few moments later, Osamu appeared next to him and the lights finally dimmed. “Are you ready?”
“I was born ready, that's why I was born first.” Atsumu quipped a witty smile at his twin which received a quick eye roll before both sets of eyes settled on the slowly rising curtain.
“Hey hey hey! Good afternoon Tokyo! We sure hope the past four months flew by for you the same way they did for us! We have a treat for you all today; introducing our newest member, on the bass, Suna Rintarou!” Bokuto has the mic, prancing around the stage and teasing Suna and Hinata. The crowd cheered as the new bassist was introduced and Suna raised a hand to greet the masses.
Atsumu grabbed Osamu’s arm in an instant, pulling the brunette’s attention and affectionate gaze away from his partner. “You didn’t tell me Sunarin was in the band?!” The blonde whisper-yelled. Osamu swatted his hand away, catching Suna’s eye for a split second.
“Don’t pull on me, technically I’m here for work. Seeing my lovely Rin is always a plus though. Also I didn’t need to tell you, you’d find out anyway.” Atsumu huffed in defeat, knowing his brother was correct.
Looking back up to the stage at just the right moment, Atsumu caught a glimpse of the lead singer walking onto center stage. Black silk robe laid open over his shoulders, the man wore a white dress shirt with black slacks, black loafers, and a black corset which hugged his waist and hips deliciously.
His brother watched his reaction closely, watching the way his jaw clenched as Kiyoomi’s hips swayed as he walked into place, watching the way his shoulders immediately went back, almost puffing his chest.
“Told ya you’d like him. He’s different.” Osamu nudged his brother’s side with his elbow, offering him a knowing smile. The blonde rubbed the back of his neck gingerly.
“I really have a type, don’t I?” His question earned a snort but it didn’t come from his brother. No more than five feet away from the pair stood Suna, getting into place and sliding the black leather guitar strap over his shoulder.
“I’d like to say I trust Bokuto to introduce us but we’re The Sirens! After a short break, we’re back in full force with brand new music and a new bassist. We have six songs set up for the evening so I hope everyone enjoys themselves! Let’s get started!” Behind his back, Bokuto catches the signal for six, they’d be starting off the set with Good 4 U. Subtly dispersing the orders through a series of ‘testing’ drum beats, the band is on the same page and the show begins.
The first notes came from Rintarou which spurred the rest of the team into action.
“Good for you, I guess you moved on really easily… You found a new boy and it only took a couple weeks. Remember when you said that you wanted to give me the world?” The lyrics tumbled out of Kiyoomi’s mouth like his silk robe that fell to the floor, elegantly and effortlessly beautiful , Atsumu thought.
The curly haired man on stage took hold of his microphone stand and dipped it, his hair flicking back quickly when he rose, exposing two stacked moles above his eyebrow. Cute.
In a single swift motion, the microphone was in the man’s hand as he brought it closer to himself for the chorus.
“Well good for you! You look happy and healthy, not me if you ever cared to ask… Good for you, you’re doin’ great out there without me, God I wish that I could do that!” Kiyoomi threw all of his pent up emotions over the break-up into the chorus, absolutely embracing the pure anger and sadness that came with it. He was pleasantly surprised when he started to hear cheering coming from the centermost balcony seats, urging him to let it out, sing his heart out.
So he did.
“I lost my mind, I spent the night crying on the floor of my bathroom… but you’re so unaffected I really don't get it but I guess good for you!” The last push of the chorus came with a sigh of relief, that felt so good. Picking this song first set the tone for all of his emotional release. I didn’t realize how much music affected him and with the break he took, he wasn’t able to express all of his emotions through his music anymore.
“Good for you, it's like you never even met me.. Remember when you swore to God I was the only person who ever got you well screw that and screw you! You will never have to hurt the way you know that I do!!” Atsumu was stunned. All of this was new. What break-up? Osamu never mentioned a break-up and from the sound of it, it was not a pretty one.
Call him emotional but there’s something different about the raven, he feels different. Just by looking at him, Atsumu can see all the potential smiles and laughter that the darker haired man deserved, he wasn’t sure what had happened but he was sure the man did not deserve one bit of it. Underneath that rough exterior, he was sure there was a sweetheart in there. His attention was drawn back to the stage as the accompaniment quieted down and Sakusa pitched his microphone.
“Maybe I’m too emotional but your apathy’s like a wound in salt… Maybe I'm too emotional… Or maybe you never cared at all! ” Sakusa absolutely belted the last line, Atsumu’s amber eyes stayed glued to him for the rest of the song, not once wavering. The blonde was stunned. How could someone make another feel like this and, from the sound of it, not even care?
Osamu occasionally caught Atsumu staring at Kiyoomi whenever he’d take his own eyes off of Suna, the sparkle in his eyes was unmistakable.
“Good for you, you’re doin’ great out there without me, baby… like a damn sociopath!”
It’s something about the Miyas but they also fall in love over the littlest things.
Next song to be sung was signalled as five, What A Time. The instructions were distributed to the band by Bokuto as usual.
This song was much slower than the last and felt more heartfelt now that the anger was out, Kiyoomi truly had a chance to express his mourning through this piece and did just that. Hinata started the song as the lead guitarist, setting the reduced pace and allowing the audience time to settle before the queue for Sakusa to begin singing.
Osamu took this as an opportunity to check on his brother, who looked absolutely lovestruck and a bit saddened. “Ya good?” He said into the blonde’s ear.
“Yep, yep, perfectly fine. Just holy shit.” The blonde followed with a soft chuckle. “Think I’m in love, ‘Samu.” The brunette didn’t reply and turned his attention back to his own love, leaving his brother to his thoughts.
“I think of the night in the park, it was getting dark, and we stayed up for hours… what a time, what a time, what a time… you clinged to my body like you wanted it forever…” The phrase left the ravenette wrapping his arms around himself, cupping his jaw in an effort to comfort himself, uncertain about the emotions he’s feeling. Sure, it wasn’t a good break-up and he should be upset but he truly misses the man.
It surprised the crowd when Hinata took up the second verse, they soon realised it was designed as a duet which made the song’s meaning that much sadder for listeners. Every once and a while, you could even hear the sniffle of fans who had started crying.
During the bridge, the lyrics changed.
“I think of the night in the park, it was getting dark, and we stayed up for hours… what a lie, what a lie, what a lie… you clinged to my body like you wanted it forever…” Sakusa himself felt tears prick in his eyes as he mourned what could’ve been with his words. The feeling of release was amazing but it only left one aspect left to cover…
The signal was one. The only song on the set list that they didn’t expect fans to know, Your Power.
It wasn’t hard to discern why he chose this one for the current moment. The song began with a soft acoustic melody played by Hinata, the band stilling themselves as they knew this one would be a crowd-shocker.
“Try not to abuse your power… I know we didn’t choose to change… You might not want to lose your power… but havin’ it’s so strange…”
“He said you were a hero.. You played the part but you ruined him in a year, don’t act like it was hard…” Kiyoomi’s eyes pricked when he thought of it. His personal chef. He didn’t realize it at first and was angry at the boy when he had no right to be…
“And you swear you didn’t know… No wonder why you didn’t ask. He was sleepin’ in your clothes… but now he’s got to get to class…” Satori Tendou was 19, and the affair lasted three years. He was a second year culinary student, he just happened to be working for Sakusa to gain experience since their families knew each other. Ushiwaka turned 24 this year.
“Does it keep you in control? For you to keep him in a cage? And you swear you didn’t know, you said you thought he was your age…” Atsumu was speechless, he simply turned at Osamu, figuring his twin-telepathy would work because he was physically at a loss for words.
“His ex cheated on him for three years with their personal chef, who was underaged for two of those three years… He had a huge breakdown a few months ago over the affair but only in recent months did he realize that the redhead was a minor for a lot of it and it was not his fault…” Atsumu looked genuinely upset for Kiyoomi, eyebrows knit together in thought.
The song closes softly and Kiyoomi dabs the corners of his eyes with a kleenex as the band sets up for the next song. The raven decided he’d done enough venting, it was time to get the crowd awake and moving.
“Alright! Enough with the sad music! I apologize, when I went into my break, I tried my hardest to get away from performances and try to focus on healing but the more songs I wrote, I didn’t realize how impactful they would be when I got up here to perform them. Time to wake up! Wipe your eyes, smile, let’s get this party started!” Sakusa beamed, and for once, it was a genuine smile.
The next song was Japan’s current #2 on the music charts, Keep the Door Open. Sakusa quickly shook his shoulders, supposedly shaking off the stress, and unbuttoned his shirt halfway to his naval. The sight of his toned upper body almost sent Atsumu into a spiral.
The song started with a playful drum intro, taking the microphone from the stand and using the stand like a cane to hold himself up, Kiyoomi looked out into the crowd of hungry fans and decided to chum the waters as if they were a pack of sharks.
“What you doin'? Where you at?” With his free hand, Sakusa pretended to be on the phone, playing into the sex appeal of the song with sensual movements and allowing Bokuto to echo him.
“Oh, you got plans? Don't say that. I'm sippin' wine… In a robe… I look too good… To be alone.” Looking down into the pit, Sakusa caught the eye of one of his sponsors and smiled. Since when did he dye his hair blonde?
Atsumu’s heart skipped a beat. His head snapped over to Osamu so quickly. “I’m jumping onto this stage and you cannot stop me.”
Osamu’s head snapped over to look at him, reaching for his arm to stop him at the same time, “Why the fuck would you- you would- let’s not do that-”
Before he could grab Atsumu, the blonde began scaling the stage, much to the shock of the crowd. His brother smacked his hand to his forehead, the older of the two knew exactly zero of The Siren’s songs. Next to him, Osamu could see Suna taking his phone out of his pocket to record as the song did not require a bass.
Kiyoomi looked at his sponsor with a confused expression, giving the recall signal to security that he was not a threat. “He’s fine, let him be. I’m curious.” The darker haired man retrieved a spare microphone from Suna and passed it to his sponsor, waiting for him to pick up the next lyric.
“I ain't playin' no games, every word that I say is coming straight from the heart…” Osamu could see the wheels turning in the blonde’s head as he tried to make lyrics for a beat he’s never heard before and was doing a fairly good job of it. Even Suna was impressed, having the camera trained on him the entire time just in case this footage would become valuable in the next few days. Peering out into the crowd, he wasn’t the only one with the same idea.
“So if you tryna lay in these arms, I'ma leave the door open… I'ma leave the door open, boy~” Atsumu almost forgot he could sing for a minute. Nerves quickly diminished and he was back to showing off, puffing his chest and making a show out of trying to “woo” the lead singer. Surprisingly, his lyrics fit well with the original lyrics so Kiyoomi continued but not without trying to provoke the man.
“Ooh, you're so sweet… So tight… I won't bite, unless you like~” Kiyoomi walked his fingers up Atsumu’s chest as he sang, running his finger along the underside of his jaw as the line concluded, resulting in a full-body flush of Atsumu skin. The boy was redder than a tomato. There’s no way he could’ve predicted that would’ve worked. Any normal band would’ve had him arrested. Kiyoomi wore an amused smirk and played along, obviously interested in hearing the blonde adlib over his lyrics.
“Hey hey, Im’a leave my door openn~” Atsumu went full force with the bridge, trying to keep close to Kiyoomi and read the man’s actions but any inkling about his next moves was clouded. Each one surrounded in a haze that made it hard to diccern whether or not he would do something so risky. “Imm’a leave my door open, babe~”
“And I’m hopin’, hopin’.. That you feel the way I feel and you want me like I want you tonight, baby~” Osamu’s jaw hit the floor as his twin’s hand graced Sakusa’s corsetted waist and softly dipped the man, who happened to be singing a harmony to the piece with his head tipped back and neck bared, a soft smile raising the corners of the raven’s mouth.
The pair was able to blend the new lyrics with the planned lyrics and end the song gorgeously. Smiling widely, Atsumu was almost able to get a word in before being pushed into a chair Rintarou had brought onto stage without disturbing the pair. Golden eyes gleemed with curiousity as Sakusa signalled the next song would end the set early so it had to go out perfectly, and Atsumu had to be kept quiet.
Kiyoomi decided to end with Permiscuous Girl, but to mix it up a bit, enjoying the thrill of creating lyrics on the spot.
“Tell me why I get this feeling?”
“That you really wanna turn me on?” Kiyoomi slowly circled the chair Atsumu was sitting in, an amused smiling masking the enjoyment he feels from being pursued in such a high stages situation. His sponsors are here tonight, watching the entire exchange in real time. Kiyoomi dipped behind Atsumu’s back, running both hands over his shoulders slowly.
“Tell me why I get this feeling?”
Kiyoomi closed the distance between himself and Atsumu, getting just close enough to the blonde that his breath could be felt on his ear. Thankfully, he had switched his microphone to his headset instead of using a handheld one for this.
“That you really wanna make me yours?” The blonde shuttered, eyes wide with both confusion and interest. Circling back to Atsumu’s front, the darker haired man turned back to the crowd before continuing the lyric.
“'Cause I see you tryin', subliminally tryin' to see if I'm gon' be the one to sing along…
I admit it's exciting, parts of me kinda like it…” Sensually, Kiyoomi turned back to Atsumu, perching himself on the blonde’s left hip facing the crowd. Sitting on an absolute stranger’s lap during his first concert post-break up, legs crossed high on his lap and absolutely dripping sex appeal at this point.
“But before I lead you on… Baby, tell me, what's your motive?”
Obviously this was no normal band, especially considering how much the pair were teasing each other by the end of the setlist. Despite not knowing any of the songs, Atsumu was either able to adapt on the fly and find lyrics or, like in the case of the last song of the set list, he sat quietly with Kiyoomi on his lap, playing with his hair as the blonde laid his head on his shoulder.
Osamu was beyond confused. To begin, Kiyoomi never let people touch him, much less a complete stranger. Physical contact made the man uncomfortable but for some reason, he was completely content and relaxed with Atsumu. Second off, how the fuck did he not get arrested? Any normal band would’ve let security take him away, it wouldn’t be the first time Kiyoomi had used security. It was interesting to see how the crowd reacted to seeing Atsumu on stage as well. Since Sakusa was never upset by his presence, the crowd didn’t get upset by it.
The concert ended with a soft closing message from Kiyoomi, convinced the blonde had fallen asleep and did not want to jostle him. Sponsers make their ways to the stage to talk to the band post-performance. Sauntering down the centermost ille of the theater stood a six-foot-two, dark haired man wearing navy slacks on, a light blue dress shirt that was tucked in, and dawning a dark grey twill peacoat. Other than the fact that his hair was in a state of perpetual bedhead, he looked like a greek god. The man began to clap slowly, a sly smirk creeping across his lips.
“Bravo! I’d expect nothing better from you all! Drinks are on me tonight.” The man beamed when he made eye contact with the owlesque drummer, who immediately jumped down from the stage to tackle the man.
“Tetsurou-bro! You didn’t tell me you’d be able to make it tonight!” Bokuto laughed, bearhugging Kuroo. The darker haired of the two ruffled the other’s frosted tips, making Koutarou scrunch his face in distain.
“Let me go, hair for brains! You’re gonna mess up my shirt!” Kuroo snickered, play wrestling his best friend. “Work got out a bit earlier than usual so I figured I’d run by, I pay to use my balcony every year, might as well get good use out of it.” Bokuto rolled his eyes before being releasing Kuroo to address the situation on stage.
“Who’s your friend there, Sakusa?” Kuroo jerked his chin slightly, gesturing to the fact that Sakusa was still on Atsumu’s lap, just as relaxed as if he were sitting in a chair.
“Kuroo, you know our other sponsor, Miya Osamu?” Kiyoomi tilted his head to the side slightly in confusion. He was sitting on Osamu… Right? A snort could be heard from behind him as Rintarou walked from backstage with Osamu in tow, looking particularly relaxed for someone who watched his brother jump on-stage in the middle of a concert and then watched the band proceed to not have him arrested. Kiyoomi’s face paled and he jumped up.
“I assume I never mentioned I have a twin brother?” Hinata burst out laughing, running over to fluff up Atsumu’s hair, which received a moan of irritation from the blonde.
“‘Tsumuuuu~ Get upppp~” The ginger grinned at the blonde who raised a hand to bat him away slowly.
Time was going by too fast.
He wasn’t entertaining a sponsor but was absolutely flirting with his twin brother. The raven’s head was spinning. Suna read Sakusa like a book and proceeded to fill in the missing piece.
“That sad sack of human waste would be Miya Atsumu, retired Olympic volleyball player, currently working with his brother when not doing various photoshoots for athleticwears and such. He’s 24 and hopelessly single.” Sakusa scoffed at the last sentence, still a bit confused but at the same time, curious. He wouldn’t be sugarcoating to say that he was irritated that the man didn’t introduce himself but granted, they were in the middle of a concert, he can’t completely fault him for his faulty conclusion.
Kuroo laughed from the floor of the theater, extending a hand to the now-awake Atsumu. “Regardless, welcome to the band, Atsu. Bus leaves in ten, Kageyama’s hosting tonight. First round’s on me. First into the club gets two.” The man turned on his heels, extending a hand to wave as he slinked fairly cat-like out of the theater. “See you there, boys!”
Atsumu sat dazed in his chair. What the fuck just happened?
Behind him, he could hear the band prattling and chirping at each other, packing up their instruments to store backstage. He remembered Hinata and Bokuto from playing volleyball in highscool but he never thought he’d run into them here of all places. The blonde shook himself out of his thoughts, standing up and looking for the lead singer. Bokuto noticed and quickly chimed in. “He already left! You’ll see him at the club if you come with. Don’t think you’ll be able to ride with us but your brother’s going so I’m sure you can hitch a ride!” The silver haired man said loudly before stripping off his shirt to change before heading out.
“Is this normal? Do ya normally go out after a show?” This caught Rintarou’s attention, the foxy male sitting on an amp next to his partner.
“No, we usually don’t go out after a show. This show was particularly stressful to Sakusa-san as it’s the first since the break-up a few months ago so we figured we’d get him out a bit. Let him get back into the world and relax. However, based off of how he reacted with you earlier, I’d say he’s plenty relaxed at this point.” Atsumu raised a brow before sticking his tongue out at Suna childishly, earning a snicker from the shorter man.
Osamu stood up first, brushing off his slacks now that Bokuto was changed and ready to head out. “Atsumu, you’re riding with me. We’ll see you all at Crows.” Hinata nodded, jumping up and running toward the door backstage that lead to the bus parking lot.
“Don’t wanna be late, Bokuto-san, Akaashi’s already on his way there.” Rintarou added, which had Koutarou sprinting toward the bus while cheering. That man was something else and it was quite amusing to watch.
Osamu turned to Suna, who rested a single hand on the center of the brunette’s chest and looked up at him adoringly. “Are you sure you don’t wanna ride with us?” The shorter man rolled his eyes and got onto his tiptoes to whisper in his ear. “ I’m going home with you anyways, dear , it doesn’t matter how I get there.” Atsumu made a loud gagging noise, causing the pair to burst into laughter.
“Alright alright, we’re leaving. See ya at the club.” Suna gave his partner a quick kiss on the cheek before heading off to ride with his bandmates. Osamu left toward his car first, giving his brother time to catch up before turning on the car to drive to the club.
It wasn’t long before the pair hit the freeway.
It was just past 10pm so the only lights that could be seen were the streetlights and the red LED lights that were wired into the creases of the dashboard. A slow R&B beat filled the SUV, calming Atsumu’s nerves but causing him to thing of the mysterious raven even more. He knew nothing about him but was absolutely transfixed, he didn’t need to know but he wanted to know everything, all the things that made him laugh, cry, scream, and smile.
Promise baby, I’ll take you to heaven if you want it. I’ll take you to heaven if you died.
“You wish that was you, huh?” His twin shot him a teasing side eye glance. Atsumu rolled his eyes. “Shut yer trap, you and Sunarin are gross.” The blonde leaned against the door of the BMW, watching streetlights and buildings so by in seemingly slow motion.
The drive to Crows was shortlived. According to Osamu, Crows was owned by Kageyama Tobio, a prominent business mogel for the Shibuya area. He owned a handful of other businesses but Crows was his crowning achievement. Atsumu remembered playing with the man in highschool, time really flies. Atsumu was jolted out of his thoughts by the feeling of the SUV coming to a stop in the crowded parking lot of Crows. A smirk quickly raises to his lips.
“Once we get in here, what’s the game plan?” Osamu snorts, looking over at his brother leading onto the center console of his car with a devilish smirk. “What’re we in, highschool? I’m in a relationship and you want one, just go find him and strike a conversation.” Atsumu groans and flops back against the passenger seat, physically deflating.
“It’s not that simpleeeee.” Osamu got out of the car and left the blonde to sulk as he walked into the club. “Just come find me if you need anything, the band has a booth on the second floor. It’s all VIP space up there so make sure you tell them you’re with Kuroo Tetsurou.”
Atsumu got out of the car and followed his twin in closely. This should be an eventful evening.
