Work Text:

“You shouldn’t be watching porn during office hours”, said Sam as she walked into Lena’s office.

Lena was startled and jumped in her seat, minimizing her tab and sitting up straight instead of leaning to the side with her entire chair while she longingly contemplated photos of Supergirl on the internet.

“Jesus! Sam, you scared me,” she said, “and I wasn’t watching porn,” she said with a head shake and a simper.

“Then what do you call a drooling over Supergirl on the Internet?” asked Sam as she walked up and sat in the chair in front of Lena’s desk. “Ever heard of a phone by the way?”

“I was not drooling,” Lena denied though she was now mildly aware that her mouth had been watery, “and the computer screen is larger,” she explained with a small blush. “And how did you-”

“The reflection,” Sam answered before she was asked as she pointed to the window behind Lena to explain how she’d noticed her search in progress.

“I should be careful about that,” said Lena and she briefly wondered if Jess had ever caught a glimpse of her phone or computer at a time like that.

“So are you gonna ask her out or…”

“Very funny,” said Lena sarcastically as she closed her laptop to get a better look of Sam.

“She still hasn’t had the guts to ask you?” said Sam in disbelief, as if they were talking about just any person.

“That’s ridiculous, okay. The whole thing that you’re implying,” Lena tried to brush off.

“Is it? And I’m not implying. You’ve probably been saved by her more times than anyone else. I mean you have more assassination attempts than hitment have hits on their CV,” joked Sam.

“Yeah well those don’t really count as dates,” said Lena, “unfortunately,” she added in an almost whisper.

“Don’t they?” teased Sam, “so what are you waiting for?” asked her friend with her hands raised in a question.

“I don’t even know if she’s into me,” said Lena, suddenly entertaining the idea. If Sam could pretend it was just some regular thing asking Supergirl out, then she could pretend too.

“Lena, any person with eyes and a remote interest in women is into you,” Sam clarified.

Lena smiled at the compliment and bit the inside of her lip as she thought of the blonde.

“Same goes for Supergirl,” said Lena.

“Yeah, but not everyone has had the pleasure of being gracefully carried in her arms, whisked away from danger, flying through the atmosphere-” Sam spoke melodramatically.

Lena chuckled, “alright, I get it, but like I said, those weren’t dates.”

“Sais you.”

“There is something about her…”

“That’s so gay, right?” Sam jumped in and finished her sentence. “So just put on some lace and work your magic,” she said.

“My magic?” asked Lena with a smirk, finding it funny to hear Sam talk of her like some temptress.

“If she saw you in lingerie, I doubt she could resist you.”

“Resist me? Sam, come on,” Lena called out, in disbelief that it would work and that she could muster the courage to do such a thing as seduce Supergirl.

“It’s Supergirl okay, I doubt you could force her to do anything against her will. She could just fly out of there,” justified Sam.

“And if I try and she turns me down?” Lena asked. Rejection was the most terrifying thought, and she was praying that Sam would reassure her while at the same time talk her out of it.

“Then you downplay it with absolute confidence and go like: ‘oh, my bad, I misinterpreted, I guess I’ll just call Roulette’,” said Sam, playfully attempting an irish accent.

Lena chuckled at the tragic effort and gave Sam a detracting look at the mention of the former acquaintance.

“I’m telling you,” insisted Sam, “play it out with complete confidence and no shame. That always works.”

“Like it does for you,” said Lena, though she realized that Sam’s advice wasn’t entirely impractical. Sam’s ability to maintain her confidence and own the moment throughout an abundance of occasions where embarrassment would have been most people’s go-to, always served in her favor.

“Exactly,” her friend agreed.

“I still remember that time I walked into your house and you were completely naked! You didn’t even cover up,” Lena brought up an old memory, her eyes widening as she reexperienced the shock of the event.

“There was nothing to be ashamed of. The human body is nude in its natural form, it’s perfectly normal to be naked,” said Sam, self-assured as ever. “And you’re welcome for the view,” she added with a wink.

Lena chuckled again and gave her another look.

“So, how do I get her to show up?” Lena asked. Maybe Sam’s confidence was brushing up on her.

“Use the watch,” said Sam, who was the only person other than Supergirl to know that the hero had given her the watch for emergencies. It had come up right away as of the moment Sam had caught Lena wearing a bulgy accessory on her wrist which served absolutely no use to her always spruce and fashionable appearance.

“The watch is for emergencies. I don't want to alert her,” responded Lena.

“Then be creative. Can’t be that hard. She’s bound to show up if you so much as whisper her name because I’m pretty sure she likes you,” said Sam.

Lena was about to protest but Sam didn’t let her and went on, “I’ve seen the way she talks about you, the way she stands up straight around you and her eyes seem not to notice anything or anyone else. And you’re even less subtle, I mean you erected a statue of her. Enough foreplay,” she teased.

“I’ll get over her, it’s just a .. a crush. I don’t even know her,” said Lena, doing her best not to let Sam get her hopes up.

“Is that right?” pressed Sam.

Lena was quiet for a moment.

“I don’t know. But the truth is I can’t get her out of my head. I think about her all the time. I watch every bit of news on her and my whole day goes up in the air when I see a flash of her pass my window. Sometimes I think she takes this route on purpose just to see me,” said Lena as she turned to look at the view of her office where Supergirl usually flew. “I used to be afraid of my balcony after that time I fell off. But since she saved me, now I think that no matter what, she’ll be there, and I get this rush,” explained Lena, “Like if I jump off any building she’ll catch me.”

Sam opened her mouth to pose an objection but Lena beat her to the answer, “I won’t jump of course, I’m not going to do something like that, so don’t worry, but the point is that I only feel safe because of her now,” Lena said with a light shrug at the confession. “And it’s not like I haven’t tried going out with someone else. But even on dates, all I can think about is what I’d ask Supergirl if she were on that date with me. Would she like the restaurant? Would there be a power play over who’d pay?” she bit her lip and smiled as she imagined it. “Would she wear a suit or a dress?”

“All good questions. Why don’t you try and find out,” urged Sam.

Lena bit the inside of her lip again.

“I think I will,” she said at last.

Sam smiled wide and gave her a little eyebrow tilt.

——

Lena put the little toy lamp she’d bought at a dollar store on the floor of her penthouse, aimed it to the balcony doors and turned it on. It was a version of the bat-signal but with Supergirl’s emblem. She hoped it would attract the hero’s attention to her that night.

Supergirl landed on the balcony after noticing a little Super-signal about 20 minutes later. She was unsure of its purpose but her interest was peaked.

She found the balcony doors opened so she stepped inside.

“Lena,” she called out to see if the brunette was there.

She walked further inside and then she heard the click of Lena’s heels on the wooden floors. They were coming in slowly and there was no other sound, so it reassured her that there was no emergency. But the brunette definitely wanted her there if that super signal was a sign of anything.

Supergirl took her stance, hands on her hips, standing tall as she turned around to find Lena walking to her, wearing the most enticing and ravishing lingerie she’d ever seen; it was all black, thigh-high stockings hooked to a corset, a tanga, and heels.

Supergirl’s mouth dropped, “Ms. Luthor- Lena,” she began stuttering. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to intrude-” she said as she turned her face the other way but her eyes kept darting back to Lena. She wanted to look so badly.

“You didn’t intrude,” said Lena confidently.

“I -I…” the hero couldn’t utter a coherent phrase.

“You can look. Besides, I need you to look so you can tell me what you think,” said Lena as she gestured to herself.

Supergirl turned her face back to behold her and she let out a breath. “You look breathtaking,” she said in a near whisper, but loud enough so that Lena could hear.

Lena smiled wide, “thank you,” she said, her confidence rising as she felt that she might not be so mistaken about how Supergirl felt about her.

Supergirl cleared her throat, “do you… have a… date?” she asked.

Lena gave a small chuckle, “well, no one’s trying to assassinate me and you didn’t have to come to my rescue so is it even a date?” she joked and hoped Supergirl would catch on to the fact that she was dressed for her.

Supergirl blushed, an unusual thing for her.

“By my count it’s been… what? 10 assassinations slash dates by now?” continued Lena.

“11,” corrected in Supergirl.

Lena smirked. Supergirl was counting too.

“So, I guess this makes it our 12th,” said Lena brazenly. “Not that I don’t love how you break into unbreakable places just to save me and have to bridal carry me all the way here, because I do. But I was hoping we could do more this time around.”

Supergirl licked her lips at the comment and let a breath out. Lena could see her chest rising high as she took another breath in.

Lena walked up to her and stood right in front, inches away. She ran the fingers of her right hand up and down between her breasts as she looked up to the blonde.

Supergirl’s eyes followed her fingers, entranced by the motion. That and it seemed easier than to look at Lena’s eyes.

Lena licked her lips and looked at Supergirl’s, so full and naturally rosy in a tone she felt no one else had.

Supergirl looked up to find Lena staring at her lips, her hunger unmistakable for anything else.

“Tell me if I got this wrong, if you don’t want this,” said Lena straight up, her breath on Supergirl’s mouth as the blonde breathed it in.

“Lena,” whispered Supergirl, her lip quivering.

“Tell me if the chemistry I feel between us is real.” Lena wanted to reach out and grip Supergirl’s outfit, but without being sure, she couldn’t, so instead, she gripped her own.

“Lena, I need to tell you-”

“The only thing I need to know right now is if this is all in my head or not,” interrupted the brunette.

“This is important,” insisted Supergirl, closing her eyes as if trying to break free from Lena’s enchantment.

“Then tell me after we’re done,” said Lena.

Supergirl gasped softly at Lena’s insinuation.

“I don’t care about anything but this right now, and I need to know,” Lena persisted, looking up to meet Supergirl’s eyes, “so please answer me first.”

Supergirl couldn’t contain herself any longer. She reached for Lena’s face and leaned in to kiss her, deeply and ardently, answering Lena’s question like this.

Supergirl needed to know too, she needed to know all of Lena’s body at this moment.

Lena moaned into the soft lips and kissed back. At last, Supergirl’s lips, her touch, and soon everything else.

Supergirl pushed, or rather, flew Lena back into a wall, her hands moving down to feel her everywhere, to touch her skin and feel the heat from it in every part. They moved down to her glutes, squeezing and lifting her slightly.

She pushed her tongue into Lena’s mouth and deepened the kiss. Lena moaned again, pulled her closer and relished in the taste of the hero as she wrapped her hands in the golden locks.

The heat between her legs began rising, her desire escalating ten fold. “How long do we have?” Lena asked, pulling back and out of breath.

“Forever,” whispered Supergirl as she kissed her again and again and again.
