Chapter Text
The Titan Azurda flew away from the Ancient Ship as the Torna ship Monoceros attacked. On his back were the unconscious exTorna members Nia, and her blade Dromarch, his adopted grandson Rex, and Pyra the Aegis Blade that shared half her life force and core with him to bring him back after the Torna member Jin stabbed him in the heart. As they flew away the Monoceros attacks severely damaged Azurda so he made a crash landing in Gormott. Unfortunately as he did, they all fell off. Tax and Pyra barely missed a ledge having fallen unconscious when the last attack before they were out of range hit Rex in the new core Crystal, while Dromarch landed right on the edge of the ledge, and him to drop Nia after them to the Cloud Sea, where they drifted in to a hidden entrance into the Gormott Titan.
As they came to rest Nia woke up, and looked around only to see the unconscious Rex and Nia.
"Rex!" Nia said heading to him, and gasping when she saw that his new core Crystal that she noticed when he returned to life the first time was damaged. "Oh nonono. Come on Rex. After everything that just happened you cant die now. I did not betray Torna to help you, just for you to die again."
Looking around for Dromarch, she noticed they were alone, except for Pyra who like Rex was unconscious. Deciding that no one was awake to see what she was about to do, she switched to her blade form, and tried to heal Rex, only for the healing to be drained elsewhere. When she tried to follow the connection to see where it was, she fell unconscious herself as her mind was transported to a field of grass with a hill and a lone tree, and a panicking Rex, and a sad Pyra who noticed her before she could hide her blade form.
"Nia. You're a blade." Pyra said. "Actually how did you get here"
"I...I...I don't know." Nia said scared now that they know. " I was trying to heal Rex, and felt the healing being drained so tried to follow the connection and ended up here."
Pyra and the now calmed Rex noticed she was scared and spoke up.
"Calm down." Pyra said. "We won't hold being a blade against you,."
"Even though I'm a Flesheater?" Nia asked skeptically waiting for an attack.
"You still tried to help." Rex said. "That makes you okay in my book."
"Thanks." Nia said. "So where are we anyway?"
"Elysium, or at least my memory of it from long ago." Pyra said to Nia's shock. "Unfortunately, you need to follow the connection backwards, and stop healing Rex. With the damage to the half of the Core Crystal I gave him when Jin stabbed his heart any healing will be drained along the connection between it and mine too fast. If the damage was anywhere else it would have been fine, but now the only way to heal him would be for you to give him half of your Core Crystal as well to fix the damage directly. Even more that would give Rex a full Core Crystal, and who knows how that would affect Rex, especially with both of us being girls."
"I owe you two for accepting me." Nia said after thinking for a bit. "Other then Dromarch, noone has ever done that before. Plus it would be a waste to betray Torna to help Rex, just for him to die. So if Rex agrees I will give him half my core Crystal."
Rex thought for a bit, before answering. "I promised to take Pyra to Elysium, can't very well do that if I'm dead, now can I? I accept."
"Okay." Pyra said. "I can do that fast. I just need to form a circuit between us all. If each of us touch the core Crystal's, of both of the others, then I'll use my powers as the Aegis too perform the procedure."
"Got it." They agreed, Rex touching Nia, and Pyra's Core Crystal, Nia touching Rex, and Pyra's Core Crystal, and Pyra touching Nia and Rex's Core Crystal's as Pyra closed her eyes, and all three Core Crystals created a circuit, where they were connected. Suddenly with a blinding flash of light they woke up back in the Gormott Titan. Nia noticing that her Core Crystal now had Emerald flowing through it, and Pyra discovering she now had red and blue mixed with hers. Before they could find Rex however Rex spoke.
"What the..." Rex said, though he sounded different, which Pyra and Nia noticed was for good reason when they looked at him.
Rex was now a girl, who was still bright skinned, with brown hair that was in a ponytail, golden eye colors, and had a pair of what could be foxlike cat ears of the same color on her head. She still wore her main outfit with a gold trim, that covered by the gear of a salvager, but her vest was now a pinkish red with a cyan trim, and her knee high boots was now white with a golden trim, with the feet parts of the boots being red in color, and her gloves were now white with black straps of leather on her wrists. And the core crystal on his diaphragm was suddenly changed to where it was half of an X shape of an emerald, with a blue diamond shaped crystal that was in the middle of the shape. Both of which, had red mixed within, like the Flesh Eater Core Crystal.
Other than the clothing, and the core though, Rex still looked like Rex if he was born a girl, and if he was born with those ears on his head.
But his weapon that he currently held, was pretty different. It had the red blade that was straight while having glowing green highlights, while the other end of the blade was also designed like a scimitar made of a solid blue plasma if it was jagged, in a fire pattern, while in the middle of the sword between the blades, was what looked like a vine that had some violet blue flowers. Sorta like a certain scimitar that someone like Nia was wielding.
