it was a quiet day at the flower shop, so yoongi worked on online orders while jeongguk watched. when it came time for him to clean up, he brought jeongguk to the bakery so he didn't get bored as usual.
for once, taehyung only had one custom cake order, so once that was done, he went outside to have a chat with his regulars, who showered jeongguk with attention and pets.
"oh!" jeongguk exclaimed when he heard music coming from across the street.
ever since seokjin and jimin got the piano for yoongi, he practiced it quite a lot in the afternoon. taehyung also noticed that a lot of his regulars started coming in later so they could catch yoongi playing.
"yoongi-hyung is really talented, huh?" taehyung asked as he patted jeongguk's back.
jeongguk curled up in taehyung's hold, resting his cheek against taehyung's shoulder, and smiling as he hummed along.
jimin dropped by soon after, and smiled when he saw the two.
"he's being very cuddly," jimin commented as he patted jeongguk's head. "it's a really nice song, isn't it?"
jeongguk nodded. "fo ggu," he said. "dada make fo ggu."
"ah, that's why i thought it sounds unfamiliar," taehyung commented. he understood, though. if he was yoongi, he would definitely write songs for jeongguk as well.
in fact, he did indeed start selling the mango cookies that jeongguk thought up, naming it 'ggookies' after jeongguk as he promised.
jimin cuddled with jeongguk outside while taehyung packed up the leftover baked goods to be donated. jeongguk hummed along to a couple of different lullabies that yoongi played and could be heard from the apartment window.
"they're all for you?" jimin asked.
jeongguk nodded happily. "all fo ggu."
the song ended and a new one started. this time, it was played in bits and pieces with pauses in between, and jeongguk looked confused.
"maybe hyung is writing a new one for you, ggukie," jimin said as he kept on patting jeongguk's back gently.
"oh!" jeongguk exclaimed excitedly. "see dada!"
seokjin walked around the corner just then, carrying a small bag from the supermarket. jeongguk started squirming in jimin's hold, and jimin passed him to seokjin.
"jin, see dada!" jeongguk exclaimed excitedly.
"okay, okay," seokjin agreed. he waved bye at jimin and taehyung and brought jeongguk back to the apartment, locking the flower shop door behind him. when he got to the apartment, yoongi was sitting in front of his piano, scribbling down notes on a blank sheet music. the song he was making was simply titled '#26', and when yoongi closed the book, he could see the words 'jeongguk's lullabies' written on the cover.
"dada!" jeongguk exclaimed as he toddled over towards yoongi and hugged his leg tightly.
yoongi chuckled at the excited baby and settled jeongguk in his lap.
"dada make fo ggu?" jeongguk asked, grinning wide.
"of course, ggukie," yoongi answered. "it's all for you."
jeongguk squirmed happily in yoongi's lap, cuddling close to him.
"dada pay?"
"okay, baby."
and that was how they spent the evening. seokjin cooked dinner while yoongi played the piano and jeongguk sat on his lap, humming along to the lullabies that he already knew.
