The Kinzoku Titan

Summary:

Ling Chen was doing routine work for Monarch, checking up on the environments the Titans inhabited and their effects on those habitats. Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed an alert on her screen. She immediately checked what it was. It seemed to be….
An energy spike-?
And just like that, everyone was informed of the situation, and they started planning on setting up a temporary settlement at a California forest to investigate the situation, and possibly find out what caused the energy spike.

Notes:

Comment any ideas you have for the story or what parts you like/dislike. If I ever get writers block these help a lot. I'll try my best not to give up on this story, and If I do I'll state that it is discontinued.

Only reason why Soundwave had the frame changes is because if they looked too humanoid Monarch might get suspicious.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter 1: Swirling incandescence

Chapter Text

Soundwave furiously typed at the console, desperately trying to type in commands, trying in vain to prevent the Autobots from doing anymore damage. However, while Soundwave was engrossed in his typing, he failed to notice the human children sneaking up behind him.

Soundwave eventually noticed the near-silent footsteps of the humans, and quickly created a ground bridge to quickly and efficiently get them out of the way. However, a second portal opened.

The humans fled, as Soundwave tried to fight against the pull of the vortexes, before ultimately being pulled through. Swirling lights filled his vision, he could vaguely sense the worried thoughts of Ravage and Laserbeak as they too were pulled in (since they were attached to his frame at the time), and their worlds faded to black.

Meanwhile at Monarch headquarters, Montana…

Ling Chen was doing routine work for Monarch, checking up on the environments the Titans inhabited and their effects on those habitats. Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed an alert on her screen. She immediately checked what it was. It seemed to be….

Her eyes widened, that was a massive energy spike, and if it contained radiation…

There was no telling how many Titans would be attracted to that, radiation or not, it was still energy.

“Diane!” Ling Chen called out, trying to get the G-Team leaders’ attention in case worst came to worse.

Diane, Mark, Rick (Dr Stanton) and Madison started walking over at her call “What’s the issue?” Diane asked, noticing the serious tone of Dr Chens voice.

“Theres a massive energy spike, and –“Chen started, only to be cut off.

“-You think the titans will be attracted to it” Mark finished, looking tired.

Chen simply nodded in response.

“Where is the energy spike located at?” Rick asked impatiently.

“California” Chen stated in a clipped, urgent tone.

And just like that, everyone was informed of the situation, and they started planning on setting up a temporary settlement at a California forest to investigate the situation, and possibly find out what caused the energy spike.

Soundwaves systems slowly rebooted, his body trying to figure out what was making him so disoriented. Soundwave blinked open his eyes, he realized he was laying down on his front, so, he moved his hands so he could push himself up.

That’s when he froze. His arms looked different, not thin and flat, but more humanoid, with smaller, flat armor on the sides of his arms. He noticed the armor looked like his arms, or his old arms in this case.

Soundwave was worried, under no circumstances should he look different, not only that, but he was also currently in the shadow zone. He remembered the fight on the Nemesis, and how he was trapped in here by children.

Soundwave checked over the rest of his frame, sitting down and patting himself down. So far there were no drastic changes. Soundwave touched his head, surprised to find different audials there. They were more… cat shaped? Organic? Definitely triangular, more like a beastformers.

He also noticed he had a tail, for some reason; The tail seemed to be made up of tentacles that were twined together, forming a tail. After checking himself (and noting the strange, worrying differences to his frame) , he checked over his symbiotes VIA their mental bond.

Soundwave let out a huff of relief, they were all alright, through it seemed his T-cog was damaged during the…frame changes. Wonderful.

Soundwave finally got up, rebooting his symbiotes processors and explaining the situation to them over the bond. As Soundwave got up from his resting position, he noticed something.

He was on the stony, smooth banks of a lake, near a lush, verdure rich forest.

Things in the shadow zone shouldn’t be this bright.

Soundwave distinctly remembered the accounts of experiences of the shadow zone, everything had a hazy, grey tint to it. This wasn’t dull, this was vibrant and rich, but he obviously wasn’t in the normal world, so-?

Soundwave blinked, perhaps instead of crossing into an alternate dimension (shadow zone) … perhaps they crossed into another universe?

Well, there was only one way to test that theory.

Soundwave used his millions of years of experience as a communications officer to trace any nearby signals. Not so surprisingly, Soundwave found a few, detailing on things called ‘Titans’ and giant creatures. Interesting.

That proves the alternate universe theory then.

“What are we gonna do?” Laserbeak asked

Soundwave thought for a moment as he made his way towards the large trees of the forest for shelter.

“We’re going to pretend we’re Titans, since we’re large enough, not only that, but the humans would know how to look for something large, and if they found out we weren’t Titans it wouldn’t go well for us.” Soundwave responded.

“So no transforming?” Ravage asked curiously.

“Affirmative” Soundwave replied as his symbiotes undocked from his frame, the feline and bird following closely as they ventured into the California forest.
