Walking down the hall you stretched your tight shoulders. You had been chosen to be on the first night duty watch team and After being up since six in the morning, scavenging, and traveling until well past dark, you had been more than ready to fall asleep in a certain someone's warm embrace. But of course the hotel that was home for the night had to be cleared before anyone could have any chance of relaxing for the night.
The hotel was a higher end one that had the doors to the rooms open to a view of the once nicely maintained lobby. A place like this would have cost a pretty penny back before the fall. For some reason that was beyond you, a set of rooms on the fourth floor was designated to be the quarters for the night.
You entered the room quietly so as to not wake anyone making sure to muffle the door as it closed. You pulled off your shoes and set them near the door just in case you needed to be up and ready at a seconds notice. You pulled your pants off and folded them as you walked toward your makeshift bed for the night setting them close by. While there were still mattresses, they were showing their age, so piling sheets up to make a bed on the floor resembling a Japanese futon was going to have to suffice.
Carefully you lifted the blanket and sheets but hastily got under the covers hearing the stirring next to you and noticing an outstretched arm beckoning you into the warm covers. The arm pulled you in tightly to a solid chest that you cuddled into. As you got comfortable, placing your own hand on their chest, you took a deep breath to inhale the scent you had been craving since your guard shift had started.
"How'd it go", Negan asked you, the exhaustion evident in his voice.
"Pretty uneventful. I missed not being able to fall asleep in your arms earlier," you said as you made yourself more comfortable snuggling into Negan's side.
"Well shit, you're here now and that's all that matters."
