Chapter Text

The woman in silk black could see the blue and red flashing lights outside her hotel window just as she put the telephone down back in it's place.
She laid against the hard mattress bed looking up at the white ceiling. Her empty eyes counting so many scars on her body. There was 24 of them in total, the young villain concluded. She waited for the police to come busting in any moment with guns pointing toward her face. They wouldn't dare kill her no, Hero's had too much pride for that but deep down, in the back of their heads, they probably wanted too and she for one did not blame them.
Questions suddenly running though her mind. Questions for the boy with green warm eyes who had been last on her list of people to betray her in this world, " Why did you leave me here to burn?" She wondered out loud to no one in particular.
Suddenly her thoughts are broken as the door breaks down and there stands two pro hero's in full uniform.
She sighed annoyed sitting up and speaks in a smart tone, " you could have just knocked.” However the two heroes ignore her and proceed to cuff the young woman and then make their way to the police station.

Hours Later.

"Thanks to an unknown tip to the police, Y/n L/n or better known as 'The Woman in Black' one of the top five villain's was arrested late afternoon, she was found in a downtown hotel and was quickly taken in without a fight, police are still questioning Y/n of Villain Deku's whereabouts'"

The young news caster explains and a image appears on screen of a sixteen year old with sharp, angular features and long limbs, a twisted smile touched upon her soft pink lips with an evil glint in her eyes.
The heavy bags under her deep doe like e/c eyes look like black circles, her hair is short and wild c/h with two distinct tufts that stick down her head, leaning slightly to each side. Lastly, her Villain outfit was simple but also gave the image of someone who is deadly and mysterious to approach yet looked very professional. The long silk form-fitting black dress hugged nicely around her hour glass waist with long sleeves, and four high-cut leg slits that show off her long skinny legs with sharp high heeled black shoes.

'So, this is the ‘lady in Black' that was responsible for so many crimes in the past year.'

All Might sat in the main lobby of the police station, sipping his black coffee and glared at the TV screen, it was hard to believe that one young lady could cause so much trouble in so little time. He had read her case file, she had no quirk but apparently had many allies on the inside, there was even a lead that Y/n had joined forces with the League of Villains. It had caused a lot of attention and fear with police and hero's. It all started at the beginning of this past year, she and Deku had started out doing just small petty crimes like stealing cars or cash from a store which turned into bigger crimes, there most recent was a month ago, they robbed one of Japan's most top security banks, thankfully no one was hurt but after that, nothing.
for a whole month nothing happened, Y/n, Deku and even the League had been quiet.
The two were the perfect duo that worked very well together from what Yagi had researched all the crimes stories and reports proved that one was never seen without the other and it was annoying to many Pro Hero's . It left an uneasy feeling within the blond retired hero that one of the top five villain's would just out of the blue give in so easily without Deku there. He broke his blue eyes away from the TV screen and continued his walk deeper toward the interrogation room where the woman in question was being held in waiting.

Y/n hummed softly to herself, counting the ticks on the clock on the wall that hung above, resting her hands in her lap, at least as best as she could in handcuffs.

The door to the room opened, and a familiar face walked in, making her face break out into a soft grin.

“ All Might" the woman smirked at the tall skinny man as if greeting an old friend, " so you finally came out of retirement on my behalf, how sweet"
Her tone was dipping in pure sarcasm.
All Might's face was stoic as he sat in the chair across from her, folding his hands in front of him on the table. When he didn't react to her comment, the young lady studied the skeleton like man closely, searching for any weakness or flaw in his blue tired eyes or face. Everyone had a weakness, she didn't need a quirk to know that. Her old master taught her that you can look any person in their eyes and know everything about them.

All Might spoke breaking Y/n from her thoughts, " I have questions for you"

“ So do I” Y/n responded voice calm, leaning forward, grinning.

“ I'm not here to play games Lady in Black, just make it easy on yourself and tell us where he is ” All Might voice was cold, finally meeting her gaze, she could see the pain in his eyes that he was trying to mask with the coldness.

" patience is a virtue, All Might” Y/n says to him simply, leaning back in her chair, “ and you'll have to be more specific to whom are you referring too?"

All Might felt a head ache start to form at this, normally he was more patient when addressing villain’s but this woman was becoming more then he agreed too, " Young Midoriya! you were last seen with him at a bank robbery over a month ago!"

That name. It makes her blood boil. She notes how formal the blond hero used her partner's, well ex-boyfriend's full name as if it meant something to him. Interesting. Normally when hero's talked about other villains it was natural to use their villain name and not their personal information but when All Might spoke his name in a way that held meaning. It was a sign of weakness if Y/n ever saw one.

"that's a name I haven't heard in a while" the woman comments off handily but continues to smile acting as if nothing was amiss. She took in the hero's blue eyes almost challenging him, " Hero's normally use his villain name but I'm sure that was just a slip of the tongue, I mean why would a hero like you care?"
Y/n questions innocently with a thin smile and she waits for the fool to take the bate.
The reaction was immediate but it was there, his body froze completely at the question, his cold expression broken and change to what looked like a deer caught in headlights.
He did care.
Why did he care?
Was it because he felt guilt or that maybe All Might blamed himself everyday because he couldn't save the one boy that looked up to him the most.
The harsh words echoed in his mind of that day but despite the guilt, the words were true and All Might could not change that.
The boy was quirk less and had no chance of becoming a hero. Not only that, the boy was reckless and nearly got himself killed that day.
However, that same young boy is now Deku a text book Villain down to his very bones and if All Might wasn't the one to put the boy behind bars then someone else will. It's the harsh reality they must all live in.
" you're not answering my questions " he pointed out while avoiding Y/n's own question, “come on Lady, you must know, what happened to young Mid-Deku? I heard you two were close” the older man asked, trying to seem more…fatherly.
It was the first in many years someone had came close to acting as a father and that wasn't saying much. Y/n can't say she never knew her father or he never knew her. No that would be too nice. Instead he left their family after three years of playing the prefect daddy, it was almost like he dropped off the face of the earth. The few memories she did have of him, like his face, his laugh and bright smile are just a blurry image at this point in her head. Her mother had talked very little about the man before she put Y/n up for adoption, the old hag last words to her were that Y/n was the splitting image of her dead beat father.

Y/n cut off all contact with her mother after that. She started dying her hair soon after and would wear black baggie hoodies to try and hide her appearance.
It was only a half year ago after Y/n and Deku made their first appearance on TV as villains that she truly realized she didn't care how she looked but it didn't hurt to look badass in a black dress either. Her father was but a memory now and the only two clues Y/n had so far was her father was some type of hero and was in America when her parents met on a certain date.

So when All Might tries to act fatherly towards her and it made her feel unnerved was an understatement. It was just an act to get answers and he was probably hoping Y/n didn't notice the slip of the tongue or the sudden fear in his eyes.
Little did he know, she did but the girl decides to play dumb for now.

“ well you heard wrong, he is merely a old student of mine that used to followed me around on missions like some lost puppy, until one day out of the blue he nearly kills me then runs off, so no, I don't know where Deku is and nor do I want to know" Y/n explains her voice with an edge to it clearly showing her distrust for the green haired villain. She then turns away from the blond hero, hiding the emptiness in her eyes. All Might looked at her dumb founded. From all the eye witness reports, it seemed that the green haired boy was very much in love and loyal to Y/n while the boy maybe a villain, he made it clear to all where his loyalty lied. So to hear that Deku was the one who turned on his master sounds a bit out of character for him, " that's quite interesting and surprising to hear you say, I didn't know you were a teacher of sorts how did you two meet? " The blond asked.

Y/n let out a heavy sigh that she didn't know she was holding then met the elder's hero's eyes with a thin frown, " it was a year ago...."

Flash Back to one year ago.

Black sneakers stomp against the wet sidewalk of Japan while the people dressed in gray dresses and business suits continued to walk past the hooded girl.
This was normal, everything was gray and dull, no color shined in her little world. The very idea of bright colors was more of a fairy tale at this point and so was the hope of having a future without a need of a quirk.
The current sixteen year old girl, 15 year old Y/n L/n enters in a nearby building. She had come to up to the roof seeking to be alone to calm her nerves and plan out what to do next for her big mission.
Today was suppose to mark the day when Y/n finally proves to her master that she is worthy of becoming his successor.
Need less say, he didn't.
The strange words from the voice of her master that had taught her everything ringing loud and clear,
' Y/n, you are the pure gray in this world which is in between the lines of black and white, never forget that, now go and show the world'

What did it all mean!? Was she not worthy enough?! She thinks, angry at the fact that Y/n never understood her master's metaphors.
Despite the fact she gave her blood, her sweat, and her tears everyday into her missions just to please her master and this messed up hero society she lived in and she did it all in the blind faith that Y/n would succeed without the need of a quirk.
It wasn't enough to be worthy as a successor, no he wanted her go out and show the world? What? That she's quirk-less with no hope for the future.
It all seemed hopeless.

Y/n wanted to scream to the gray skies, collect herself, and think of what to do next—only to find someone already up here, over the railing, a boy with the most wild green hair she had ever seen was falling over the edge.

'Shit' Y/n thought bitterly as her body moves on it's own.
Suddenly the girl found herself hanging over the railing grabbing the boy's hand in a tight grip holding on for dear life to keep him from falling. The young boy's head snaps up and for first time her eyes met two green emerald's staring up in aw. She blushed lightly at the way his eyes looked at her with such praise. With that, Y/n slowly began to pull him in and back over the railings setting the boy down on the ground safely.

For a while the two just sat there on the roof, judging by the glassy look in the boy's eyes he seems to be in a state of shock or something of that effect.
Y/n assumes his state of shock must be either coming to terms with his decisions or he is lost in his own head. She sighs and checks over him for any cuts or bruises, she notes there doesn't seem to be any harm done, however, his school uniform is covering most of his body so it's hard to tell. He must have just gotten out of school not too long ago. She also noticed his lack of backpack and starts looking around the roof until she spots on the ground by her feet a open also slightly damaged notebook.
She picks it up and reads over the cover, 'Hero Analysis for the-' it seems someone marked out the last word with a black marker. Strange. Y/n looks over the first few pages, expecting to find answers as to who this kid is and the events leading up to this point. However, she was not expecting to find pages and pages of endless information on every hero in all of Japan including a signed autograph from All Might.
This boy had collected more intel on hero's then she had on past missions. Some pages even showed details that had not been released to the media. Y/n wonders just how far his intelligence will go if she played her cards correctly.
She closed the notebook and studies his face closely, he has a map of freckles dotting across his pale cheeks. Aside from the heavy bags under his empty green eyes he seemed to be good physically but mentally speaking, she could tell there was something almost broken about him. Almost. Which means he was not lost yet, he could be of use with the right words.
Her eyes focus mainly on his fluffy green hair. The girl suddenly reached out her hand and ran her long fingers though his wild hair. Y/n gasp lightly at how soft and less tangled it was but most of all it was the fact, how beautiful seeing color for first time felt. It was interesting.
The boy suddenly jumped as soon as her fingers made contact but slowly, he relaxes into her soft touches and looks up at Y/n as if she was some sort of angel.
" tell me, what is your name?" she asked gently, holding the notebook by her side while still running her fingers though his long hair with her other hand.
The boy bits his lip looking unsure if he should answer her. He keeps his focus on his hands while muttering, " Izuku Midoriya"

" Izuku" the name rolls of her tongue easy yet she feels a sense of deja vu. She hums over it, that name, Y/n remembered seeing the name all over the news and online a month ago, it was a story of a quirk less boy by the same name who had tried to save a class mate from the slug monster. The news report made it obvious that they didn't care about the slug monster or the heroic act. No, instead the new reporters made endless remarks of the boy being reckless, stupid, worthless and how he should have just let All Might handle the situation.
It was news reports like these that showed just how hero's and the media treats the quirk less or as hero's called them: lowest form of society.
Y/n had laughed sadly at that knowing If it had been someone with a quirk they would call him a hero or saint.

"it's not your fault" she says suddenly grabbing Izuku's attention while still playing with his fluffy hair, " all you wanted to do was save just one person but the world refused to accept it and all because you're quirk less"
Hearing these words, Izuku feels his whole body froze, he was not expecting to hear that. It was the first time and only time anyone had been on his side on this situation. Of course, he wasn't surprise this girl knew his name.
The whole city knew his name and address by now thanks to the news report.
Now Midoriya's life wasn't perfect before the news report came to light but he was fine. He was fine with being quirk less and the bullying wasn't too bad.
He was fine when he finally met his childhood hero since he was five, who turned out to be a big fake and basically told him that Izuku's goals were unrealistic.
Everyone told him he had no chance of becoming a hero. It was only fair to hear it from All Might the number one hero but that was okay. He smiled though the pain and laughed it off, it was like wearing a mask 24/7. He was FINE.
However, what wasn't fine was what All Might had yelled at him after he tried to save Kacchan from the slug monster.

' do you realize how close you were to losing your own life?! You will never ever be a hero!'

His faith and dreams were broken when All Might said those words. Then his whole world was crushed when the news report came out the very next day, the bullying had gotten twice as worse. Where ever he went people followed and harassed him for not having a quirk. He tried so hard to move on with his life but no one would hire him and all schools he applied for rejected him because he was basically in their words a quirk less nobody that cause the heroes nothing but trouble and would give them a bad name. He was pretty much treated as a criminal but the worse part was when they brought his mother into the picture. She had kept mostly out of it and was safe from the public eye but then while walking home one night his mother had been cornered and nearly killed while told she should have put the boy out of his misery a long time ago. That's when Midoriya started hearing voices. Things only got worse from there after the voices in his head came.

" Is begin born without a quirk such a crime? That it gives this ugly hero society the rights to rip away one boy's future" the girl says boldly breaking Midoriya away from his past memories as she hands the notebook to Izuku. He takes the notebook into his hands and looks closely at it. Oh... that's right he had brought it up here with him, a bad habit, he thought bitterly. It was a grim reminder that writing in that notebook had been the only thing left that kept him going on his dark days until today that is when he gave in to those dark thoughts in his head and decided to take Kacchan's 'friendly' advice to jump.
"I've seen your work, it would be a shame if you threw away such potential because no one even gave you a chance" she admitted then stops playing with his hair and studied his actions more closely, watching for any signs of doubt or betrayal," Izuku Midoriya" she speaks his name aloud, her voice is commanding, "my name is Y/n L/n and I want to give you an opportunity that this ugly world turned away from you and be my student, to change the world, I believe you are worthy enough and can do anything without any need of a quirk"
Midoriya eyes widen in shock at those words and he feels something he hasn't felt in a long time. Hope. These are the words he dreamed to hear but had given up all hope after All Might made it clear he would never be a hero. After everyone had given up on him including his mother and yet this girl is glowing, she is looking at him with such faith and speaking praises at him like it's nothing.
It reminded him of All Might back when he was smaller, younger and innocent to the cruel world, back when he watch the number one hero on his mother's computer's screen.
Even when things seemed hopeless, All Might would shine and smile though it.
No, Y/n wasn't All Might, she was better then All Might. It felt as though a dam had been broken inside his heart.
His vision is blurred, tears are overflowing and running down his soft cheeks. My God, did it feel good to cry. He bowed down to the girl in front of him and made one simple request, "please call me Deku."

End of Flash Back.
