My F-Zero Fanfic Deleted Scenes

Summary:

Like a DVD would have, these are just deleted scenarios I came up with recently. They each take place in my F-Zero timeline and its stories whether it'd be Tanaka in Trouble, Ending it All, Man of Destiny and The Bostonian Comes Home. Enjoy these little extras, and Happy Holidays to you all!

Chapter 1: Lap 1

Chapter Text

A/N: They're not actually deleted scenes, just extra scenes that recently came up to fill in some of the cracks. My best friend, TheRevivedRacer, helped me a lot with this! Like he would in my previous works. These are just a series of oneshots that has been nagging me for quite a while now.

And the first chronological event was actually in my all-time favorite place, Port Town, after the events of Tanaka in Trouble!

Lap 1

After a successful attempt on retrieving the stolen cargo, and saving Tanaka from Dark Million's captor, Tinsel, Rick, Jody, Lucy, and Tanaka treated themselves as they watched Kate's concert in the Port Town Diamond Star cruiser. The so-called elite cop was so enamored with Kate's voice, that he paid total disregard on what was going on, even his own over-the-top expressions. Although as a performance was occurring inside the dining hall, Tinsel never cared for the number, but rather the outside of the ship as it was sailing beside a bustling city under a starry sky of dark violet. All the Silver Comet pilot did was just have her eyes glued to the spectacle as it gave her a wave of nostalgia. She got up and slowly treaded away from the group.

Rick eventually noticed an empty chair, and that Tinsel was gone. Asking to excuse himself, he followed her to the vast, opaque underside. Before the Diamond Star cruiser should go into orbit, Tinsel was fixated onto the scenery as she slumped over the guardrails. Rick then saw her as still and unwavering as a statue, then he walked toward her.
Tinsel noticed a sound of a foot shifting. She abruptly snapped out of her self-trance and looked behind her thinking it'd be someone waiting to claim his/her prey amongst the darkness. As she turned, her fingers grazed on top of her ice pistol hidden in her side pocket. Then, as her head wandered aimlessly, she then saw Rick looking down at her. Her body immediately relaxed, knowing he's with her.

Her face lightened up, almost as if it was glowing amongst the neon, distant city lights. "Oh. Rick!" She greeted him with as she broke in a grin.

Rick returned the gesture. "Hi, Tinsel." He hesitated as he looked upon the scenery. "I just saw you watching the city move by."

Her eyes cleared from their glaze. "Oh, yeah, I was just looking out. I always adored Port Town, ever since I first encountered it in the Queen League." First my encounter with Pico and now this...? she thought. The deja vu was really starting to irritate her.

Rick grew worried as he saw her body tense. "What is it?"

"Oh, nothing. It's just..." She lost her train of thought, then she turned and looked at the distant tree isles moving along with the ship. "I just can't stay away from it. I always wanted to revisit this place, maybe live there..." She paused before she turned to Rick. "I really want you to take in the scenery, Rick. This place is breathtaking...!" Her voice softened as she described her fascination.

Rick followed her gaze, and he too was beginning to feel at ease. He noticed it wasn't quite as glaring nor noisy as Mute City was. The space harbor was not as convoluted nor chaotic as the multiple-layered streets were, the atmosphere was calm and not clouded by pollution.

Tinsel then broke the silence after a few moments, "This was the place of origin for Capt. Falcon. I'd grown intrigued. Sometimes, I'd just take some alone time and gaze up at the dark sky and watch the stars and track light up."

He nodded. He couldn't agree more. He understood how Tinsel was more of an introvert and how she'd rather not have excessive stimuli make her zone out and irritate her from within. This was indeed more reassuring, even if it was a place she hadn't visited in so long.

They both simply just gazed out onto the open harbor, absorbing the distant mountain chains, the quiet environment, the numerous isles and ports, and even a few vessels passing by. At one moment, Rick reminisced when he took Haruka for a boat ride at Memory Park, how joyous she was feeding the gulls or just riding with him. This made Rick feel a little depressed on how much he'd lost, but also felt numb and a bit glad Tinsel took him along.

He nearly heard a distant voice coming from one of the overhead speakers saying the guardrails will be sealed for the orbital launch.

The detective then faced her again, "Um, Tinsel...?"

She faced her best friend once more.

With a smile, he thanked her for showing him the beautiful sight of the Port Town harbor. He then realized Mute City's not the only venue that had astonishing city life. He then touched her shoulder, "Come on. The ship's going to be in orbit shortly. We should meet up with the rest of the team."

She nodded in affirmation, "Ok." She followed close beside him, almost as if their arms were touching each other's, as they returned to the upper deck.

Rick felt this place shall be engraved in his memory, the way that happened to Tinsel so long ago...

A/N: Another World from Final Fantasy VI, remade by sschafi1, shall be played if Tinsel should enter a self-trance of sorts. Other than Kate's signature song in the 4Kids dub, I can't say what else it should be.

Indeed, Port Town's my all-time favorite venue in the F-Zero series, ever since I was fascinated with that place even in 16-bit. The GX setting was alright, and GP Legend and Climax tried to recapture its stellar atmosphere, but there's just no comparison. I believe Port Town was only mentioned and seen once in the anime, in GP Legend's last episode before it bit the dust on the FoxBox, known as 4Kids TV.

This place shall be significant later on and it did impress Rick in a way. Kinda like a foreshadowing, especially in my epic, Ending it All. Speaking of which...
