Chapter Text

It’s 9 pm on a Tuesday, Riley’s walking the streets of LA and ends up at a bar. Hearing the music play, the sound of pool balls colliding, drinks being poured. She walks to a stool and sits down.

“Whiskey straight up,” Riley said to the bartender

“Coming right up.”

Riley gave a little smile and waited for her drink. She looked at the guy sitting next to her, blond, tall, hefty drink. He felt her eye’s in the back of his head and he turned around.

“Mac”

Riley snapped out of it

“I’m sorry, what?” Riley asked

“My name, it’s Mac.” He offered a smile

“Riley.” Offering her hand

He shook her hand and turned to face her.

“What brings you to a bar at 9 pm?” Mac asked while checking his watch

“Don’t know, I just got bored at home and decided to go for a walk and ended up here,” Riley explained

Mac gave her a small nod

“What about you? What brings you here at 9 pm?” Riley asked

Mac chuckled and took a sip of his beer

“Caught my girlfriend cheating in my bed so I kicked her out, came here and now I’m talking to you.” Mac smiled

“I’m sorry,” Riley said sincerely before taking a sip of her whiskey

Mac nodded and took a swig of his beer

The two strangers talked, laughed for a few hours then Riley spoke

“Hey, do you want to dance?” Riley asked with a smile

Mac looked at her and smiled

“Sure,” Mac said standing to his feet

He offered his hand as they made their way to the dance floor, a slow song came on and Mac placed his hands on her waist.

“Is this okay?” Mac asked softly

She put her arms behind his neck

“Is this okay?” Riley asked with a smirk

Mac smiled and they slowly began swaying

Swaying in silence listening to the music, Riley moved closer to Mac and placed her head on his chest, and smiled. His heartbeat was steady, calm, nice rhythm. She felt his hands roam her back and she blushed when she felt Mac’s chin on her head. The song came to an end and Mac paid for both their drinks even though Riley said she would buy them. He walked her home and reached her front door.

“This is me.” Riley smiled looking at the building then Mac

“I had fun tonight,” Mac said with a smile

“Me too, give me your phone,” Riley said biting her lip

Mac reached for his phone and unlocked it before handing it to her. She typed insanely fast then handed him his phone back.

“There you have my number,” Riley said walking to her door

Mac smiled as she walked away

“Night Riley,” Mac said

“Night Mac.” Riley smiled

Riley entered her apartment and closed the door leaning against it with a smile. She placed her things down and walked to her room to grab a change of clothes before going to take a shower. Mac walked back to the bar to retrieve his truck and hopped in with a smile on his face. He pulled his phone out and looked at Riley’s contact.

“God, you're beautiful,” Mac said

Both fell asleep remembering their time together. Over the next few day’s Mac and Riley would text back and forth checking how each other were doing and just chat or flirt. Riley’s at her friend Leanna’s apartment with Jill and Kai, they're going over plans for Leanna’s wedding and everyone sees Riley on her phone smiling.

“Ri, who are you texting?” Leanna asked

“Just someone I met.” Riley smiled

“Spill.” Everyone said

Riley smiled and put her phone down.

“On Tuesday, I couldn’t sleep so I went to a bar, sat down, and ordered a drink. I looked to my left and saw a tall, blond man with the most gorgeous blue eyes. He gave me his name, we talked, then I asked him to dance.” Riley said smiling

“Did you guys dance?” Leanna asked

“Yeah, did you?” Kai said

“Yes, we danced, his hands were on my waist, he asked if it was okay then I put my arms around the back of his neck and I asked if that was okay. We swayed together until the song ended. He paid for both our drinks and he walked me home.” Riley said still smiling

“Did you two hook up?” Kai asked

Leanna and Jill wanted to ask the same question

“No, we didn’t hook up and we didn’t kiss but we have been talking,” Riley said

“You should invite him as your plus one to my wedding,” Leanna said

“Yes, Riley call him right now and ask,” Jill said

“No, what if he declines?” Riley said

“He won’t, after what you told us he seems to really like you,” Leanna said

“I still think it’s too early,” Riley said

Leanna looked at her phone and snatched it

“Hey!” Riley said trying to get her phone back

“I’ll give you the phone back when you say you’ll call him,” Leanna said

She felt the phone vibrate and smirked

“OOH, look who just texted,” Leanna said, showing the phone to Kai and Jill.

“What did he say?” Riley asked worriedly

“These are his words, ‘I can’t get you out of my head, would you like to go on a date?’” Leanna read the message

Riley smiled then screeched

“Give me the phone, I’ll call him.” Riley smiled

Leanna smiled and gave her the phone

Riley with her phone in hand and walked to the kitchen

“Hey Riley, how are you doing?” Mac asked with a smile

“Doing pretty well, I have a quick question,” Riley said

“I may have an answer.” Mac chuckled

They both laughed a little

“Um, what are you doing this weekend?” Riley asked

“Nothing, why did you want to take up my offer?”

“Actually, I was wondering if you would be my date to my friend's wedding,” Riley said clenching her eyes shut

Mac smiled on the other end

“I’d love to go, text me the time and your address, I’ll pick you up.” Mac smiled

“Okay, pick me up at 3 pm, Sunday.” Riley smiled

Mac grabbed a sticky note and wrote the date and time.

“Got it, just text me your address and I’ll see you then,” Mac said

“Okay, bye.” Riley smiled

“Bye.” Mac smiled

Riley let out a sigh and smiled holding her phone to her chest

“Riley’s got a date.” Everyone said

Over at Mac’s place, he is excited to spend time with Riley because he really likes her. He walks to his room and picks a suit out and hangs it up. He takes his mattress and moves it outside and tells Nikki, his ex, to take it with her. He orders a new mattress and waits for his date with Riley.

“Man, I just want it to be Sunday,” Mac said looking at the note

Sunday came faster than Mac thought but he was way too happy, he was gonna see Riley again. He looks at the clock and sees he has 4 hours until he has to pick her up. He irons his suit and waits, Riley on the other hand is anxious. She showered 4 times today and has done her makeup numerous times, it’s been forever since she’s been on a date. When she finally composes herself she puts a nice dress on with high heels, earrings, and lip gloss. Looking at the time it’s 2:55 and Mac hasn't arrived yet, she's pacing around the room until she hears a knock at her door.

Opening the door, she saw Mac in a black tux and his hair nicely done holding flowers

“Wow, Riley you look… Wow.” Mac said amazed

“Should I change?” Riley asked looking at her dress

“No, you look beautiful,” Mac said

Riley saw the flowers

“Are those for me?” Riley asked with a smile

“Oh, yeah I didn’t know what you liked so I got one of each flower,” Mac said

Riley pouted and Mac handed her the flowers

“They look and smell beautiful, let me put them in some water and we can go,” Riley said

“Okay.” Mac smiled

He followed her into the apartment and looked around.

“Your place is nice, why do you have a telly Savalas painting?” Mac asked pointing at the painting

“My stepdad gave it to me, he had it in his apartment and my mom didn’t want it in her house so he gave it to me,” Riley said putting her flowers in some water

Mac nodded

“Ready to go?” Mac asked

“Yep.” Riley smiled

Mac put his arm out and Riley took it

“Handsome and a gentleman,” Riley smirked

Mac chucked

They arrived at his truck and she directed him to the wedding. At the wedding, Riley could see that Mac was nervous.

“Hey, it’s okay you’ll sit with everyone else while I stand with my friends,” Riley said holding his hand

“Thanks,” Mac said

“Okay, let’s go meet everyone.’ Riley said

Mac opened his door and walked to Riley’s side where he opened her door and helped her down. They walked together until Riley had him sit and wait until the wedding began.

“I’m gonna go find Leanna, I’ll see you in 5 minutes.” Riley smiled

“Can’t wait.” Mac smiled back

Riley walked into the building where the bride and bridesmaids were getting ready. Walking in she smiled seeing Leanna in her dress.

“Riley, you look great.” Leanna smiled

“Oh My God! No, you look great, Bozer is gonna cry when he sees you.” Riley said

“I hope not because if he cries I’m gonna cry and I don’t want my makeup to run,” Leanna said

“Is your plus one here?” Kai asked putting her earrings in

“Yeah, he’s in the third row.” Riley smiled

“I can’t wait to meet him.’ Jill said

They heard the music start to play

“Okay, Leanna you ready?” Jill asked

“Absolutely.” Leanna smiled

The Bridesmaids walked down first and stood across from the groomsmen. Mac saw Riley and smiled, Bozer stood at the altar and saw Leanna come out. His eyes filled with tears but composed himself, Leanna reached the altar and they held hands. When they were reading their vows, Riley saw Mac and both smiled at each other. After the ceremony ended they all went to the dance floor where Riley introduced Mac to everyone.

“Mac, Ready to meet my friends?” Riley asked

“Yeah.”

They walked together with their arms locked and smiled when they arrived.

“Guys, this is Mac, he is my date.” Riley smiled

“You weren’t kidding, his eyes are beautiful,” Jill said

Riley blushed when Mac looked at her

“You're telling me you met him at a bar,” Leanna said surprised

“Well it wasn’t under great circumstances but yes we met at a bar, talked, danced and he walked me home,” Riley said

Mac pulled her closer and she blushed feeling his hand on her waist

“Speaking of dancing, honey let’s dance,” Leanna said

“Coming,” Bozer said with a smile plastered on his face

Everyone watched Bozer and Leanna dance and then the song Mac and Riley danced to the night at the bar came on. Riley’s mouth opened in shock hearing the song again and felt Mac tug her towards the dance floor.

“What are you doing?” Riley smiled

“This is our song and I want to dance with you again.” Mac smiled

Riley walked with Mac onto the floor. They were in the same dancing position they were in the bar and both smiled holding each other. Swaying back and forth, Leanna and Bozer noticed and moved off the dance floor leaving them alone with everyone watching them. Riley looked around and saw everyone watching and looked at Mac.

“How are you so perfect?” Riley smiled

“I’m not, I have my flaws but you make me a better person,” Mac said softly

Riley smiled and kissed him softly, Leanna, Kai, Jill, and everyone else awed. Leanna, Kai, and Jill all leaned together.

“I think Riley found her soulmate,” Kai said

“Yep, I was thinking the same thing,” Leanna said

“Me too,” Jill said

Riley and Mac walked hand in hand off the dance floor and to their friends.

“Well, you two just stole our wedding.” Bozer joked

“No, today is still your guys' wedding day, but thank you for letting me and Mac dance,” Riley said

“And we got pictures,” Kai said

“Really.” Riley smiled

Mac hugged Riley and both smiled

“Yep, I’ll send them to you when I finish editing and processing them,” Kai said

It’s 8 pm and the after-party is dying down, Mac and Riley didn’t drink much not wanting to drive under the influence. Mac walked around trying to look for Riley and found her by the pool. He walked over and stood next to her putting his arm around her waist.

“Hey,” Riley said with a smile

“Hey.” Mac smiled

“So about the dance floor…” Riley said

“Don’t you dare apologize I wanted to kiss you just as much,” Mac said

Riley smiled and went to her tippy-toes and kissed him again

“I want to take this relationship slow, is that okay?” Riley asked

“Yes, I don’t want to rush anything, do you want me to drive you home?” Mac asked

“I’d like that,” Riley said softly

Mac smiled and kissed her again and they walked to his truck. On the drive over to her place they talked.

“I never asked what you do for work?” Riley asked

“Do you know the Phoenix Foundation?” Mac asked

“You work there, you're telling me you save people on a daily basis,” Riley said with a smile

“I don’t just work there, my mom, Matty, owns it. She had me name it and when she saw that I can solve unconventional problems she had me work by her side.” Mac said

“What did you do before the Phoenix?” Riley asked

“I was in Afghanistan working EOD. I defused bombs, me and my friend Charlie set a company record 126 devices defused.” Mac said

Riley was shocked

“What made you come home?” Riley asked

“Many things but the one thing I came home for was to start a family. My ex Nikki, I wanted to start a family, she said she wanted to start but after months of trying, I found birth control in her bag. She apologized then 2 weeks later I found her with someone else in my bed.” Mac said

Riley could see he was sad and angry. She reached for his hand and held it.

“I’m sorry that happened, when we get further in this relationship, I promise you when you want to try for a family. I’ll burn my birth control right in front of you so you know I’m not hiding anything.” Riley smirk

“You know you don’t have to. I mean if you want a family in the future then I’ll gladly start one with you but only if you want one.” Mac said squeezing her hand gently

Riley smiled and kissed his cheek

“In the future Mac, in the future.”

Mac pulled to a stop outside her apartment and gave Riley a kiss before she left. She waved to him as he drove away and he honked his horn when driving away. Riley walked to her apartment smiling and looked in her bathroom mirror. She took her clothes off and hopped in the shower, dried off, and put her PJs on. She wiped her makeup off and lay in bed.

Goodnight Mac, I love you

I love you too, Night Rile’s

Riley smiled at her phone and placed it on her nightstands before falling asleep. Mac smiled at the message he got from Riley and texted her back before falling asleep.

Chapter Text

Over the next few weeks, Mac and Riley would meet up and walk around town or go on dates, talk, hold hands and look around. They stopped at the top of the Hollywood sign hill and Mac asked her a very important question.

“Hey, Riley,” Mac said

“Yeah, Mac.” Riley smiled

“We’ve been dating for some time now and I just wanted to tell you. I love you, I don’t want to keep falling asleep and waking up with messages. So Riley Davis, will you move in with me?” Mac asked showing a key

“Mac,” Riley said putting her hands over her mouth

“I know it may be early but I want to fall asleep with you in my arms and wake up with kisses. I want to give you breakfast in bed, give you a heating pad and ice cream when you're on your period, and hold you when you're sad.” Mac said with tears in his eyes

Riley moved close to him and kissed him passionately. Mac picked her up and spun them around before breaking the kiss.

“Yes, I’ll move in with you.” Riley smiled

Mac smiled

“You, Riley Davis, just made my year,” Mac said

“I can’t wait to move in,” Riley said into his ear seductively

“Hmm don’t tease me,” Mac said clenching his eyes

Riley laughed and they walked hand in hand down to their house. The next couple of days, Mac helped Riley move in and unboxed everything she brought. This was good for Mac because he got to purge some of the things he no longer needed and once all set in, Mac suggested they invite their friends. Later at the house, the fire is going, Riley is sitting with Leanna, Kai, and Jill. Mac is inside with Bozer getting beers.

“So how are things with you and Leanna?” Mac asked

“Good, we started trying for a baby.” Bozer smiled

“Are you up for that?” Mac asked

“Oh yeah, me and Leanna have wanted kids ever since we were in high school.”

“Wow.”

“What? Are you and Riley thinking about having a baby?” Bozer asked

“No, ah it’s complicated, we've talked about it but we're still taking things slow. She said when she’s ready we’ll try but I’m scared of what happened in my last relationship.” Mac said

“What happened in your….” Bozer was interrupted

“Babe, where are the beers?” Riley asked

“They're coming right up.” Mac smiled

Mac grabbed the beers and walked out to the porch and handed them out. Bozer sat next to Leanna and wrapped his arm around her, Mac sat with Riley and did the same.

“So Riley, Mac,” Kai said

“Yeah.” Riley smiled

“How’s everything between you two, have you guys slept together?” Kai asked flicking her eyebrows

Mac choked on his beer

Everyone leaned in wanting to hear her answer

“We haven't gotten that far, my last relationship was a trainwreck and Mac’s last relationship wasn’t so hot either,” Riley said not wanting to give too much detail about Mac’s Ex

“When are you guys gonna do the deed, you guys would have beautiful babies,” Jill said pointing between the two

Riley shrugged along with Mac but both were blushing

“Speaking of babies,” Leanna said pulling out two pregnancy sticks

“No way.” Everyone said

“Honey, when did you find out?” Bozer asked with a huge smile

“This morning when I said I was getting groceries, I went to the doctors and they did a sonogram,” Leanna said

“We are all happy for you two,” Riley said

Mac took her hand and rubbed it with his thumb reassuring her they could have that someday.

“I should have known, that's why you aren’t drinking,” Jill said

“It’s okay and besides I’m not much of a beer fan after our wedding.” Leanna chuckled

Kai yawned as did Jill

“Looks like we should call it a night,” Riley said

“Yeah, I want to go home and hug my wife and the little guy,” Bozer said looking at Leanna's stomach

Everyone bid their goodbyes and Mac cleaned up the beer bottles. Riley cleaned the dishes and sighed when Mac came in.

“Babe, you okay?” Mac asked

“Yeah, it’s just hearing Leanna being pregnant and us moving in, it’s a lot to take in,” Riley said

“You don’t think we moved too quickly do you?” Mac asked worriedly

“No, this was a good idea. Just seeing Leanna and Bozer find out they're having a kid just got me thinking about us.” Riley said

Mac nodded as he listened

“I don’t want to try for a baby yet because this is still new and we just moved in but maybe we can start being intimate,” Riley said taking Mac’s hands

“Are you sure that's what you want?” Mac asked

Riley nodded

“Okay, but I just have one question,” Mac said

“What?” Riley smiled wrapping her arms around his neck with a smile

“Back at the fire pit, you said your last relationship was a trainwreck if you don’t mind me asking what happened?” Mac asked softly

“Oh,” Riley said shocked

“You don’t have to answer, it’s okay I was just wondering,” Mac said

“I know but I want to tell you but can we take a shower and lay in bed before I tell you,” Riley asked

“Yeah, you can use the main shower,” Mac said

“Okay,” Riley said before kissing him and walking to the shower

Mac waited for her to finish then he took his shower, while he was drying off Riley saw him shirtless and saw his scar about his left peck.

“Mac, what happened?” Riley asked feeling it

“Remember when I said I worked EOD?” Mac said

Riley nodded

“Well my oversight was keeping an eye on me and he wasn’t able to stop a group of terrorists from reaching me and one of them shot me. My oversight was able to kill them but he felt guilty that I was shot and back at camp where I was getting surgery doctors gave me a 10% chance of survival.” Mac said

“I’m sorry,” Riley said

“It’s okay, you didn’t know but I’m glad you do now.”

Mac finished drying off and got changed into his nightclothes and laid next to Riley.

'So back to your trainwreck of the last relationship.’ Mac joked

“My Ex-boyfriend was nice at first, he was strong, tall, but was super cocky. We were not even one month into our relationship and he was trying to put the idea of having a baby out there. I told him it was way too early so he stopped asking. We went on dates, looked at houses, then one day I came home to our apartment and found him banging his coworker in our bed.” Riley said

“God sounds like my last relationship,” Mac said

“I’m not done,” Riley said rubbing his forearm

“When I found him sleeping with his coworker, he apologized and I was a fool to go back to him. After that whole incident he became more secretive about his electronics, he also became more aggressive. If I didn’t do something when he told me he would yell at me and throw stuff. This pains me to say it but I was pregnant at one point, I told him about it and he was happy then one day I came home and he was super angry, he shoved me into the corner of the countertop and I started bleeding.” Riley started to tear up

Mac rubbed her arm and pulled her into his arms and kissed her head.

“I was rushed to the hospital where they told me the baby didn’t make it. He blamed me for the death so I packed my stuff while he was at work and left. I couldn’t handle the abuse anymore, 4 months later I met you in that bar, and here I am, happy, in love, and safe.” Riley said hugging him

“What was his name?” Mac asked

“His name was Billy Colton, I don’t want him to find me. Please, no matter what please don’t let him.” Riley pleaded

“I won’t let him hurt you. I swear, he’ll have to go through me before he can touch you again.”

Riley nodded and Mac held her until she fell asleep.

“I’m never gonna let anyone hurt you,” Mac whispered before kissing her head and falling asleep

Chapter Text

The next morning, Riley woke up and rolled over to kiss Mac good morning but he wasn’t there. She looked around then she saw him walking towards her with a tray and a smile on his face. He placed the tray over her legs and a smile formed on her face seeing, blueberry pancakes, bacon, syrup, a glass of orange juice and a rose on the side of the tray.

“Mac, this is beautiful,” Riley said pouting

“I’m glad you like it, do you want coffee or is the orange juice okay?” Mac asked

“The orange juice is fine.” Riley smiled

“Good, I’m gonna head into work. But if you need anything don’t hesitate to call, okay?” Mac said

“Yep.” Riley smiled

“The door will be locked so you don’t have to worry about anyone breaking in, you have a key and I have a key. I’ll see you this afternoon. I love you.” Mac said before kissing her and walking to the front door and heading to work

“What did I do to deserve you,” Riley said looking at the tray of food

She grabbed her phone and took a picture and posted it on Facebook. Everyone was jealous, they wanted breakfast in bed, especially Leanna, she was having her cravings and some morning sickness. Jill and Kai both replied with ‘lucky’ and ‘I want a man like him. Her mom saw it and called her.

“Hey, mom.” Riley smiled

“Hey honey, I saw your post on Facebook, who's the gentleman?” Diane asked

“His name is Mac, he’s the sweetest human being to ever walk this earth I swear to you. We met at a bar and Leanna, Jill and Kai forced me to invite him to Leanna’s wedding after talking with him for just 2 days. I was scared out of my mind but when we were at the wedding we danced just like the night at the bar and we kissed.” Riley smiled

“He sounds like a dream, you should bring him over so we can meet him,” Diane said

“Okay, I’ll talk to him, how does this weekend sound?” Riley asked

“Perfect, Me and Jack will cook something nice,” Diane said

“Okay, love you, mom, tell Jack I love him too.”

“Will do, bye honey.”

“Bye, mom.” Riley said with a smile

Riley put her phone down and ate her breakfast. When she finished eating she texted Mac saying it was delicious and got out of bed and washed her dishes. She took the day to explore the house and look at photos of Mac and his family. There was a door with a keep-out sign but Riley was curious, to say the least but she wanted to respect Mac’s privacy and decided not to go in. After hours of exploring her new home, she decided to sit down and watch tv until Mac came home.

A few hours later, She heard the front door open and Mac came in with a sigh but smiled when he saw Riley walking towards him.

“Hey babe, how was work?” Riley asked

“Tiring but I’m glad that I’m home with you, what did you do today?” Mac asked holding her in his arms

“I called my mom, she wanted to know if we could visit. My parents want to meet you.” Riley said

“Sure, how about this weekend we go visit for lunch or dinner depending on what your mom wants,” Mac said with a smile

“You're amazing, you know that,” Riley said

Mac shook his head and kissed her, Riley let out a tiny moan causing them both to smile

“How about you call your mom and set up a day we can go and visit while I make dinner,” Mac said

“Okay,” Riley said before kissing him

Riley walked to their room to call her mom and Mac got sausage cooking. He wanted to make lasagna, so he made the sauce and boiled some water for the noodles. Riley came out of their room with a smile on her face seeing the food being made. She walked behind him and wrapped her arms around his torso.

“What are you making?” Riley asked looking over his shoulder

“Lasagna, I’m making the sauce, could you stir the sausage?” Mac asked

“Sure.”

Riley grabbed the spatula and stirred the sausage bits around hearing them sizzle. After everything was all set Mac grabbed a dish and Riley helped him put everything together. They put cheese on top before popping it in the oven to cook.

“Where did you learn to cook?” Riley asked

“Believe it or not I used to suck at cooking so my mom taught me. I got so into it I took lessons and now I’m cooking for you instead of myself.” Mac smiled

“When I thought you couldn’t get any hotter you still amaze me.” Riley smiled wrapping her arms around him

They kissed passionately and moved to the couch. Riley straddled him and removed her shirt causing them both to laugh. Mac kissed her then her neck causing small moans to escape her, she slowly started to grind against his waist causing him to groan. He flipped her onto her back and kissed her neck. Her hands roamed his back as he kissed her neck then she reached for his belt. Mac heard his belt buckle become loose and smiled against her neck as he kissed her.

Their heated moment soon ended with the sound of Riley’s phone ringing.

“Oh come on,” Riley said

Mac got off of her and put his belt back on. Riley sat up and put her shirt back on and answered the phone.

“Hello?” Riley asked

“Hey Riley, look I know I screwed up. Can you please take me back?” Billy asked

Riley hung up and threw her phone, Mac saw that Riley was scared and pulled her into a hug as she cried.

“Babe, it’s okay, you're with me. What happened?” Mac asked stroking her hair

“Billy called, how did he get my number? I changed states, phone numbers, and I even sold my car.” Riley said on the verge of tears.

“Hey, it’s okay, I promised you I would never let him near you. Tomorrow you can come to work with me, meet my mom and see what I do. How does that sound?” Mac said softly

Riley nodded

“Okay, I’ll block his number then after we can eat,” Riley said sniffing

“Okay,” Mac said kissing her forehead

Riley blocked his number and Mac pulled the Lasagna out of the oven and made them each a plate. Mac held her hand seeing that she was having a tough time eating, after they finished eating they loaded their dishes in the dishwasher and walked to their bedroom. Changing into Pjs Riley walked over to Mac and kissed his shoulder.

“Hey, you okay?” Mac asked

“Yeah, but I want to finish what we started on the couch.” Riley smiled

Mac smirked and kissed her, picked her up, and fell onto the bed. Mac removed his shirt and unclipped Riley’s bra, he leaned down to kiss her then proceeded to kiss her neck.

“Mac..” Riley moaned

Riley’s arms came up and roamed Mac’s back, stopping at his hair. She ran her fingers through his hair, messing it up and kissing him passionately. Their tongues collided and Riley pulled back and went to his ear.

“Take your pants off.” Riley whispered seductively

Mac stood up and dropped his pants before climbing back on the bed and lining up with Riley. He slipped inside her and her hands found the back of his head exploring his hair. She pulled him down on top of her as he thrust and bit his ear softly, both moaning and sweat starting to form, Mac, pulled her up and found his back against the headboard. “I like to use handcuffs,” Mac said into her ear

“Really?” Riley smiled

Mac nodded as he played with her hair

“I already have five different things in mind,” Mac smirked

“Let’s finish showering and get some sleep, I want to introduce you to my mom tomorrow,” Mac said

“Okay.” Riley smiled

They both helped each other shower and Mac applied her shampoo and scrubbed her hair. Once all clean they stepped out of the shower and dried off, they walked into their room, put their pjs on and laid in bed with Mac as the big spoon.

“I didn’t say this before but that was amazing,” Riley said

“More than amazing, you do things to me that I didn’t know were possible,” Mac smirked

“Don’t give me ideas of ways to torture you.” Riley chuckled

The next morning, Riley felt Mac’s hand on her stomach and smiled. She put her hand on his and Mac spoke up.

“Morning,” Mac said in a deep voice

“Morning.” Riley smiled

Riley felt Mac move over and kiss her

“Do you want coffee?” Mac asked

“Mhmm.” Riley nodded

“Okay.” Mac smiled

He kissed her cheek and climbed out of bed walking to the coffee pot and pouring two glasses. Mac poured her creamer in her mug and Mac just did milk. He blew on them to cool them down and walked towards his room where Riley was sitting up smiling.

“Thank you.” Riley smiled and kissed Mac

“You’re welcome, so I was thinking this morning we can head to the Phoenix so you can see what I do and meet my mom then this afternoon we can go see your parents,” Mac said

Riley loved that Mac had their day planned out

“Sounds perfect,” Riley said before kissing his cheek

“Do you think I could get a job at the Phoenix?” Riley asked

Mac choked on his coffee

“I don’t know, we could ask, what would you want to do?” Mac asked

“Tech or I could help make the security stronger,” Riley suggested

“You do computers?” Mac asked taking a sip of coffee

Riley nodded

“When I was 12 I started hacking and when I turned 18 I was arrested because I hacked into the CIA just to look around and got caught. My stepdad works for the CIA so he was able to talk them down from doing jail time and from that moment on I promised to never hack for my personal game but to help people.” Riley said

“Wow, yeah I could see what my mom could do. I was just scared you wanted to go into the field.” Mac smiled as he took a sip of coffee

“What do you mean field?” Riley asked

Mac knew he messed up

“Ah nothing, just forget about it okay,” Mac said

“Mac, I don’t want secrets between us. Please tell me.” Riley said

Mac sighed and placed his coffee down

“I can’t tell you but when we go see my mom she can explain if I could tell you I would. Now I’m scared I ruined our relationship.” Mac said running a hand over his face

Riley was annoyed that Mac wasn’t telling her everything but she didn’t want this to ruin anything.

“Mac, this didn’t ruin anything. Yes, I’m annoyed but I’m not leaving you just promise me, no more secrets.” Riley said holding his face

Mac nodded

“Let’s get dressed so you can meet my mom and she can explain what I mean,” Mac said

“Okay,” Riley said

They both got out of bed and got dressed, brushed their teeth, and walked to Mac’s truck. On the ride there Riley asked Mac about his mom and she loved how he talked about her, he idolized her, he said she adopted him when his parents died. When they arrived Riley’s anxiety was high but Mac took her hand.

“Hey, everything will be okay. She’s gonna love you.” Mac said

“Okay,” Riley said giving Mac a smile

They hopped out of his truck and Mac took her hand as they walked through the doors of the Phoenix Foundation. Mac showed her around and they ended up in a room with 4 chairs, a table with paperclips, and a giant screen.

“Hey, Matty,” Mac said going to hug her

“Hey, Mac.” Matty smiled

Riley looked at Matty and saw how loving she was towards Mac. Mac whispered something in her ear and she nodded, they broke the hug and Mac stood up.

“Matty, this is Riley, my girlfriend. Riley, this is Matty, my mom.” Mac said

“It’s nice to meet you, Riley,” Matty said putting her hand out

Riley smiled and shook her hand

“It’s nice to meet you too, Mac talks highly of you.” Riley smiled

“He does the same when he’s here, I try to get him to stop talking but I can’t.” Matty laughed

Riley laughed and looked at Mac who was blushing

“Hey Mac, can I speak with Riley alone?” Matty asked

“Yeah.” Mac nodded

Mac walked over to Riley and kissed

“It’s okay, don’t freak out,” Mac whispered before walking away and leaving the room

Once Mac left Matty had Riley sit, she had to tell Riley what Mac actually does because Mac let it slip that there was fieldwork. Matty showed some images and news videos of things that Mac has done to save people. All Riley had thought was why wasn’t he given credit for all of this?

“We are a top-secret organization, we specialize in helping people around the world and Mac, Mac is our best agent. He’s saved millions of lives and all those people don’t even know he exists.” Matty said

“Has he, has he killed anyone?” Riley asked on the verge of tears

“No, god no he doesn’t even like guns. Only people he’s hurt or killed were terrorists. I can tell you Riley that Mac is a great person. He’s never hurt anyone he cares about, the only person who hurt him was his ex whom I’ve fired.” Matty said

“What did his ex do here?” Riley asked

“She was our tech analyst, she would keep an eye on Mac from this room and would hack into satellites or CCTV cameras to find people. Mac told me you wanted to see if there was an IT spot open but I was thinking maybe you can do what his ex did and watch over him?” Matty said

Riley smiled and looked in the direction Mac was in

“Can I show you what I got?” Riley smiled

“Sure, we’ll supply you with a laptop,” Matty said

Matty had a laptop given to Riley and Mac entered the room. Riley smiled and hugged him.

“I’m assuming you're not mad.” Mac chuckled

“I’m mad but after seeing what you’ve done to save people, I’m proud, I’m dating a superhero.” Riley joked

“Yeah, a superhero which no one knows about.” Mac chuckled

“Did Matty offer you the job?” Mac asked

“Yep, I just need to show her what I can do.” Riley smiled

“Knock em, dead babe,” Mac said before kissing her

Matty smiled and spoke up

“Okay love birds break it up.” Matty smiled

Riley and Mac laughed and she took the laptop.

“Try and hack our security system,” Matty said

Riley nodded and started typing then the big screen went black then a text came up.

“Hey Babe, why does it say Artemis37?” Mac asked

“It was my old hacker name, but don’t worry I’m not that type of person anymore,” Riley said

“Very good Riley, you’ll fit in perfectly here. So that being said, would you like a job?” Matty asked with a smile

Both Riley and Mac smiled and Riley nodded

“I’d love to work with you and Mac,” Riley said

“Welcome to the Phoenix Foundation, Riley” Matty said with a smile

Riley smiled and shook Matty's hand then hugged Mac

“Mac, you did a good job. I’m looking forward to my future daughter-in-law.” Matty smiled

Riley blushed and Matty left the room

“Sorry about that, she always tries to embarrass me,” Mac said

Riley smiled and kissed him

“Thank you for telling me about this, so how does this work? Am I allowed to talk about the missions or not?” Riley asked as they walked towards the exit with Mac

“Everything I do in the field is classified so we have cover stories like if I have to go to disarm a bomb it’s considered a renovating a factory. I’ll fill you in on everything later, I want to go meet your parents.” Mac said holding Riley's hand

“Okay.”

When Mac and Riley got to the truck Mac hopped in the passenger side leaving Riley confused.

“What are you doing?” Riley asked

“You’re driving.” Mac smiled

“Okay,” Riley said confused

She walked to the driver's side and hopped in.

“Can you show me how?” Riley asked

“Yeah, this is exactly why I wanted you to drive.” Mac smiled

Riley smiled as Mac taught her how to drive the trunk and kissed him

“Thank you, Mac,” Riley said

“For what?” Mac smiled

“Being you, being nice to me and not hurting me, teaching me new things, and getting me a job. Having the best sex ever I must add.” Riley said with a smile

“No last night was all you and if you want me to teach you anything else I’d love to teach you,” Mac said

“Okay, but tonight you get to have control,” Riley said seductively

Mac bit his lip and Riley started the engine

“We need to behave when we arrive at your parents,” Mac said

Riley shot him a look and smiled

“I’ll try.”

They arrive outside a house and Riley turns the engine off, letting out a deep breath Mac looks at the house. Riley takes his hand and looks at him.

“Mac, everything will be okay, my parents will love you. Just take a deep breath.” Riley said

“Okay, thanks I get nervous meeting my girlfriend's parents,” Mac said

“You mean ex-girlfriends,” Riley smirked

“Yes, you are the only woman for me, RIle’s.”

“Good, now let’s head inside, they're making chicken.” Riley smiled

“Now that sounds good.” Mac smiled

They hopped out of the truck and held hands before Riley knocked on the door. The door opened and Diane smiled.

“Oh my baby, and this must be the handsome gentleman,” Diane said

“Yep, Mom this is Mac, Mac this is my mom,” Riley said

“It’s nice to meet you, Mrs. Davis,” Mac said

“It’s Dalton, and it’s nice to meet you too, Mac.” Diane smiled

They stepped inside and Mac took Riley’s coat when seeing the rack. He hung up their coats and saw Jack walk in with a plate of freshly cooked chicken.

“Jack?” Mac said surprised

“Mac?” Jack said happily

Jack placed the plate down and hugged Mac patting him on the back. Riley and Diane both looked at each other and were confused, to say the least.

“Been a while,” Jack said

“Yeah, I didn’t know you got married,” Mac said

“Well, I invited you to the wedding but you never came,” Jack said with a smile

Riley cleared her throat

“How do you two know each other?” Riley asked

“Oh yeah, I was Mac’s overwatch in Afghanistan, but I left because Mac got shot and doctors gave him a 10% survival rate. The guilt got to me seeing that I couldn’t protect him and I left.” Jack said

“You were Mac’s Overwatch!” Riley said surprised

“Yeah.” Both men said

“Mac, why didn’t you tell me it was your overwatch?” Riley asked

“I didn’t know your dad was Jack Dalton.” Mac smiled

“Well, you two have a story to tell,” Diane said

“Yep, over dinner,” Jack said

“Mac, can you look at the GTO? It's not running smoothly and it stopped working.” Jack said

“Yeah, I can look at it,” Mac said

Jack led Mac to the garage and together they looked at the engine while Riley talked with her mom. While Diane talked to Riley.

“So how are things with you and Mac?” Diane asked

“Really good, his mom offered me a job at the Phoenix Foundation.” Riley smiled

“You're gonna be saving people,” Diane said

“Not necessarily, I’m gonna make sure no one hacks the servers and I’ll be helping with some things like helping Mac pass out food to kids and giving clothes to families in need,” Riley said

Matty has fundraisers for people and children in need so Riley and Mac would have something to look forward to after hard stressful missions and it's a good cover story.

“You two are really perfect for each other, are you guys thinking about kids?” Diane asked

“Mom, we just started having sex, but yes we do want kids at some point,” Riley said

“Good because Jack can’t stop thinking about having grandkids running around so if he asks while having dinner this is a heads up,” Diane said

“Thanks.” Riley chuckled

Riley made her way to the garage and saw Mac leaning over the hood of the car looking at the engine. She smiled seeing Jack and Mac getting caught up and laughing.

“Well, I know why the car won’t run,” Mac said

“Why?” Jack asked

“Drive belt snapped,” Mac said, pulling it out

“Well shit, I guess there is no driving her for a bit,” Jack said putting his hands on his hips

“Not exactly do you have an extra belt?” Mac asked

“Yeah,” Jack said

“Go grab it.”

Jack nodded and ran inside

“Hey, honey,” Jack said

“Hey.” Riley smiled

Riley walked into the garage and rubbed Mac’s shoulder

“How do you know so much about cars?” Riley asked

Mac chuckled

“My dad taught me,” Mac said

Riley smiled at him and turned him around

“Just one kiss,” Riley said softly

Mac smiled and kissed her, her arms went behind his neck and pulled him closer.

“Eww you two, none of that near the car,” Jack said

Riley and Mac broke apart laughing

“Sorry,” Riley said

“It’s okay,” Jack said

“Here you go,” Jack said holding the belt

“Perfect,” Mac said taking it

He took out his SAK and cut the buckle off and melted the two ends together. They leaned into the car and wrapped it around the pulleys and straightened up then closed the hood.

“All done?” Jack asked

“Yep, but you should get that changed as soon as possible. It won't last forever.” Mac said

Riley smiled and stood next to Mac and wrapped her arm around his waist

“Can we go eat?” Riley asked looking up at Mac

“Sure.” Mac and Jack said

Walking into the house they all grabbed a plate and took what they wanted for chicken, scooped some mashed potatoes and some corn with a spoonful of gravy. Sitting down at the table they all laughed, talked, and got to know more about each other. Jack brought up having grandkids and Riley smiles and looks at Mac.

“...Just imagine a little boy running around in a diaper laughing,” Jack said

Everyone laughed picturing it

“Look, Dad, Me and Mac have talked about having kids but this relationship is the most important thing to both of us, we both decided to wait a bit until we think about having a baby,” Riley said

“I don’t want my relationship to end up like my last one,” Riley said

Mac took her hand as he remembered what she told him

“Yeah, Billy was an ass, I’m glad you found someone worthy of your love,” Diane said

“Me too.” Riley smiled looking at Mac

After dinner, everyone said their goodbyes, and Mac drove home but Riley had other plans. She started moving her hands to his thigh then started undoing his pants.

“Riley, I’m driving,” Mac said

“Then pull over.” Riley smiled

Mac smirked and pulled down a road, Riley smiled as she took her pants off and climbed over to straddle Mac’s lap. It’s been two weeks and Riley loves the kinky side of Mac. She laid on their bed naked waiting for him to handcuff her to the headboard but he told her to put her hands behind her back and go Doggystyle, she smirked and did as she was told. “Well he’s gonna be happy it’s a boy, are you happy?” Jill asked

“Hell yeah, Me and Bozer have wanted a baby since high school. He's gonna be happy to know it’s a boy.”

They all laughed and Leanna looked at Riley

“What?” Riley said confused

“How’s everything with you and Mac?” Leanna asked flicking her eyebrows

“Have you two had sex yet?” Kai asked

Riley rolled her eyes then spoke

“Everything between me and Mac is amazing, yes we’ve had sex, and he lets me have control over him. The first night we had sex he sat up against the headboard while I did the work, he moaned my name when he finished.” Riley smiled

“Oh my god, what else did you guys do?” Jill asked

“When we left my parent's house, I put my hand on his thigh and he pulled over this time we both had control, best car sex ever,” Riley said

Leanna, Kai, and Jill were impressed but they could tell Riley had more to tell.

“You have more to say, spill,” Leanna said with a smirk

Riley smiled

“Fine, Mac can be kinky.” Riley smiled

“Would you do it again?” Jill asked

Riley looked around the room like there was someone listening then spoke

“You have no idea.” Riley smiled before drinking her wine

While at home in the keep-out room, Mac is working on something that is almost impossible to pull off. The only way it can be made is by the earth and thousands of years of development, He’s mixing chemicals and locking them in a closed chamber. He increases the pressure and smiles when he sees it forming. Once it was done he smiled and opened the chamber using tweezers to pick up a diamond. He picked up the wedding band and pressed the diamond into it, he clamped the sides shut and heard the doorbell ring. He walked to the door and saw Bozer.

“Hey man, why did you call me over, Leanna’s gender reveal party is in 45 minutes,” Bozer said

“Come in,” Mac said

Bozer walked in and turned to Mac

“So what’s going on?” Bozer asked

Mac sighed and smiled

“The past couple of months have been amazing with Riley, she means the world to me and I want to spend the rest of my life with her.” Mac smiled

“Mac, what are you talking about?” Bozer asked confused

Mac reached in his pocket and showed the ring

“Mac, that’s a diamond,” Bozer said shocked

Mac nodded

“I’m gonna ask Riley to marry me,” Mac said

“What!” Bozer smiled and hugged Mac

“I’m gonna ask her tonight.” Mac smiled

“She’s the luckiest woman in the world,” Bozer said

Bozer felt his phone vibrate

“That’s Leanna, she needs me there now,” Bozer said

“Okay, go, I need to change, I'll see you soon,” Mac said

Bozer nodded and left for the gender reveal party, when he got there he made his way to Leanna and kissed her. Riley saw Bozer then looked at her watch.

“What’s wrong?” Kai asked

“Mac should be here by now,” Riley said worriedly

“He probably hit traffic,” Kai said

Riley nodded and waited

20 minutes later

Leanna and Bozer are with Riley who is freaking out because Mac isn’t there yet, they went on with the party and Bozer was ecstatic to see he’s gonna have a son. After the reveal, Riley’s phone rang and she saw Matty’s name on her screen.

“Matty, have you heard from Mac he was….” Riley could hear Matty crying

“What’s wrong?” Riley’s heart dropped

“Mac’s in the hospital, you need to get down here in case, in case we need to say goodbye.” Matty snuffled

Riley’s eyes filled with tears and hung up

“Riley, what’s wrong?” Kai asked

“Mac’s in the hospital, I need to go,” Riley said rushing to the exit

She hopped in her car and pressed on the gas flying to the hospital. Her friends followed behind and arrived 2 minutes after she arrived. Walking through the hospital she found Matty sitting in a chair holding Mac’s jacket and crying. Riley rushed over and sat next to her and hugged her as they cried.

“What happened?” Riley asked

“Doctors told me he was driving towards the gender reveal party and someone rammed head-on into him. The other driver sustained minor injuries, a concussion, and some broken ribs. Mac’s in surgery, a piece of metal lodged into his side and the impact caused bleeding in his brain. Doctors say he might not survive.” Matty cried

Riley’s eyes clenched shut hearing he might not survive and her tears fell

“When doctors gave me his jacket they also gave me this,” Matty said handing Riley a little black box

Riley took it and opened it revealing the engagement ring and Riley broke down into tears.

Everyone stayed the night at the hospital not wanting to leave Riley, Matty and Mac early the next morning doctors came out and Matty squeezed Riley’s hand preparing for the worst.

“Are you guys with MacGyver?” Dr. Sandria asked

“Yes, how is he?” Riley asked holding back tears

“MacGyver sustained a head injury leading to bleeding in his brain and a piece of rebar from the other driver’s car flew through his windshield pinning him to the seat. We were able to fix the impalement but what’s worrying us is that we tried draining the blood collecting in his brain but it keeps refilling.” Dr. Sandria said

Everyone had tears in their eyes and Matty spoke up

“Is my son gonna survive, what percentage does he have to live?” Matty asked

“He has a 5% chance of survival, but as long as we keep him in a medically induced coma that buys us time to find a way to resolve the blood build-up.” Dr. Sandria said

Matty nodded

“Okay, keep him in the coma, I don’t care how long or how much it costs my son is gonna pull through. If it’s alright with you can we see him?” Matty asked

“Yes but only family aloud.” Dr. Sandria said

“Okay, Me and Riley can go in,” Matty said

“Who is she?” Dr. Sandria asked

“I’m MacGyver’s Fiance,” Riley said showing the ring

Dr. Sandria nodded and showed them to the room, Matty opened the door and both made their way to Mac. Riley kissed his head gently and Matty took his hand. They both held his hands and prayed for Mac to heal. 2 Hours later, Dr. Sandria came in to inform Riley and Matty that the Other Driver had woken up. Riley wanted to find out who this other driver was and wanted to tell him that if her fiance died she would make his life a living hell.

“I want to talk to him, I want to know why he crashed into Mac,” Riley said

“Okay, would you please follow me?” Dr. Sandria said

Riley followed her to another room and Riley saw Billy sitting up eating Jell-O. When she saw Billy a fire raged inside her, her stupid ex might have just killed her fiance.

“Riley? What are you doing here?” Billy asked

“You may have just killed my fiance.”

Riley moved closer to Billy

“If he dies, I’ll pin you to every open murder case and when your ass is in a 5 by 6 hole, I’ll delete your entire existence,” Riley said with tears falling down her cheeks

Billy swallowed hard as fear took over

“Look, I’m sorry I crashed into him. I looked at my phone for 30 seconds and then I crashed. It was an accident. I’m sorry.” Billy said not making eye contact

“There is no sorry here, you shouldn’t have been on your phone and you shouldn’t have been being stupid trying to find me,” Riley said

“When you're allowed to leave, you leave and never ever think about contacting me again, do I make myself clear,” Riley said with pure anger

Billy nodded

Riley turned around and walked out of the room and back to Matty and Mac. Wiping her tears away as she walked back to Matty and Mac, she wanted to go inform everyone else about Mac’s situation. Entering the waiting room, Leanna is sitting in a chair with her hands on her stomach and Bozer holding her hand. Jill and Kai were sitting reading Magazines and swapping when they finished looking at them.

“Riley, how’s Mac doing?” Jill asked standing up

“It’s not good, doctors give him a 5% chance of surviving. When they gave Matty his jacket they gave her a little black box and inside was an engagement ring, he was gonna propose.” Riley broke down

Kai and Jill held her as she cried and Leanna and Bozer walked over and hugged her. Everyone turned around hearing the door open and Matty walked out, fresh tears falling from her eyes. Riley looked at her and bent down to hug her.

“Did you find out who the other driver was?” Matty asked

“Yeah.” Riley snuffled

“He’s my ex, he’s been looking for me and he told me he looked at his phone for 30 seconds. I told him that when he’s good enough to leave, he leaves and never thinks about coming back or contacting me again.” Riley said

“Good, you did the right thing but if Mac dies he needs to pay for it,” Matty said

“I know,” Riley said

Riley stood up and turned to her friends.

“You guys can go home, I’m gonna stay here with Matty,” Riley said

“Okay, fill us in if anything happens,” Leanna said

Riley nodded and everyone went their separate ways. Matty and Riley walked back to Mac’s hospital room and sat down beside his bed. Riley took his hand and kissed it.

“You come back to me, okay,” Riley said with tears building up

Matty put her hand on Riley’s thigh to calm her down and they hugged. Riley laid her head on Matty’s lap and let her tears flow free.

“He was gonna propose.” Riley cried

“I know, he was so excited about it too. When he wakes and I mean when because my son is a fighter, you will be able to give him your answer.” Matty said stroking Riley’s hair

“My answer is yes.” Riley smiled

Matty smiled and a tear fell down her cheek

Riley has barely left Mac’s side over the past 4 weeks, Dr. Sandria would come in and update Riley on everything they’ve found on being able to help him. Matty would come by and tell Riley to go home, shower, sleep and eat. She would comply and do as Matty told her, she wanted to be her best self when Mac woke up. Today Matty came in and told Riley to go home, she nodded and walked over to Mac.

She bent down over Mac and kissed his head.

“Please come back to me,” Riley said before walking towards the door

Mac woke up in a white room in a white gown. He sat up and looked around in the empty void, he started running into the void away from his bed but after 5 minutes of running, he found himself back where he woke up. He sat down and held his head in his hands, he wanted to go home, hold Riley, see his Mom, his friends, he wanted to be free from this prison.

“Please come back to me.”

Mac heard her voice, Riley’s voice. A door appeared in front of him and saw Matty by his side, he smiled and walked closer seeing Riley walking towards the door. He smiled finally seeing his family again, he took a deep breath and stepped through the door.

Matty’s holding Mac’s hand when she feels his hand twitch.

“Riley,” Matty said

She turned around and saw Mac’s hand and his heart monitor increase. Riley walked back over towards Matty and when she put her hand on Mac’s his eyes opened. Matty smiled and she cried, her son was back, Riley saw his eyes open and it was like someone put a missing piece of her heart back.

“Mac?’ Riley smiled

He nodded

Riley let out a sob and hugged him gently and kissed his head

“Water,” Mac murmured

“I’ll go get some,” Riley said

Mac nodded slightly and watched Riley walk out of the room

“Mom, did the ring get damaged?” Mac asked softly

Matty smiled and shook her head

“She’s wearing it.” Matty smiled

“I never got to get on one knee,” Mac said rubbing his face

“Well if it makes you feel any better she said yes.”

Riley came back with water and Dr. Sandria

“Hey honey, here’s your water,” Riley said pouring some into Mac’s mouth

Mac took a few sips and smiled

“Thanks.”

Dr. Sandria checked his vitals and spoke

“Mac, does your head hurt?” Dr. Sandria asked

“A little but not too bad,” Mac said

“On a scale of 1 to 10, how bad is the pain?” Dr. Sandria asked

“Maybe a 3 it feels like a headache,” Mac said rubbing his eyes

Dr. Sandria wrote it down and nodded

“Okay, we're gonna take you in for a scan. We want to make sure it’s not the blood that’s built up in the brain.” Dr. Sandria said

“Okay, but will he be okay?” Riley asked

“Everything looks good, his vitals are strong, his heart rate is back to normal and he’s awake. I think he’s in the clear.” Dr. Sandria smiled

Both Matty and Riley smiled and hugged each other then Riley kissed Mac

“I told you my son is a fighter,” Matty said

“He sure is.” Dr Sandria said before leaving to prep for the scan

Riley climbed in the bed and eased next to Mac making sure not to hurt him. She smiled and took his hands and he saw the ring he made her and fiddled with it.

“I never took it off,” Riley said

“You should, I don’t want your finger to fall off before I can put it on.” Mac chuckled

“I don’t want to take it off.”

“Trust me, Mac, I tried, she won’t take it off,” Matty said

Mac took her hand and looked at the ring he made.

“You want to hear something,” Mac said

Riley smiled

“What.”

“I made that ring myself.” Mac smiled

Riley looked at the ring and smiled

“Now I’m glad I didn’t take it off. How did you make it, where did you make it?” Riley asked

“Remember that room with the keep out sign.”

Riley nodded

“In there is my lab, that’s where I made the diamond and I visited a blacksmith workshop to make the band,” Mac said

“You are the smartest, kindest, and sweetest person I’ve ever met. I can’t wait to be your wife.” Riley smiled

Mac smiled and kissed her

“You two are adorable, welcome to the family, Riley,” Matty said

Riley got off the bed and hugged her

“Thank you,” Riley said with tears in her eyes

Dr. Sandria came in with other doctors to move Mac to get his brain scanned. Mac was able to stand up on his own but had trouble trying to walk because laying down for four weeks makes his legs numb. He sat down in the wheelchair that was provided and rolled to the room with the giant CT machine. Laying down on the table everyone moved out of the room and the table moved into the machine.

“Okay Mac, try not to move too much okay.” Dr Sandria said

Mac gave a thumbs up

“Here we go.”

The machine started making noise and Riley stood behind the glass standing with Dr. Sandria as the images came through. Riley was biting her nails watching Mac lay in the machine that would make her claustrophobic, Matty stood next to Riley and was looking at the images of Mac’s head.

“This is strange.” Dr Sandria said

“What is it?” Riley asked

“The blood clot is gone.” Dr Sandria said

“So no surgery?” Matty asked

“No surgery, we’ll wait till this is done then look at them again. If everything looks okay he can go home within a week.” Dr Sandria smiled

After the CT scan was done, Dr. Sandria and other doctors looked at Mac’s x-rays and were all amazed. Mac’s blood clot was gone, Riley walked into the room and hugged him, and kissed him.

“I’m assuming there's good news.” Mac smiled

“Yep, you get to come home in a week

Mac smiled and hugged his Fiance

The next week flew by and Riley prepared a welcome home party for Mac. Leanna, Kai, Jill, and Bozer helped. Diane and Jack also came by because Jack wanted to see Mac and make sure he was really okay. Riley left for the hospital to pick Mac up and upon arrival, Mac was waiting in the lobby.

“Hey, handsome.” Riley smiled walking to him

“Hey beautiful, I know you're gonna hate this but can I see the ring?” Mac asked

“Why?” Riley asked protecting her hand

“I want to propose properly.” Mac smiled

Riley smiled but sighed when she took the ring off

“I better be getting that back,” Riley said walking with Mac to her car

“You will.” Mac smiled

“Good because I plan on becoming Riley MacGyver.” Riley smiled

Mac smiled and kissed her

“God I love you,” Mac said

“Same Mac, now let’s go home,” Riley said opening her door

“Yes please,” Mac said

Riley laughed and Mac hopped in the passenger side. The engine roared to life and they drove back to their home. When driving home Mac saw Jack’s GTO down the road and smiled, he figured out Riley was throwing him a welcome home party. The car came to a stop and Mac stepped out of the car.

“Riley, I want to tell you something,” Mac said

“What.” Riley smiled

“Before I woke up, I was stuck in a white room and I did everything to get out, to come back to you. After what felt like hours in the room I heard your voice, telling me to come back, I looked in front of me and saw the way out. I didn’t even think twice, I got up and walked through because I wanted to come back home to you.” Mac said

Riley had tears in her eyes and smiled

“I don’t want something like that to happen again, seeing you in that hospital bed. It scared me because Matty had shown me the ring and it made me sad knowing you wanted to propose, I wanted to see your smile, hear your laugh, look at your beautiful eyes again. I want to start.” Riley said

Mac was confused

“Start what?” Mac asked

“I want to start trying for a baby, seeing you in that bed made me think about it and it scared me thinking I was never gonna have the chance to start a family. No one else has ever made me feel this way, make me feel loved the way you do, make me happy when we come home from work. When I’m on my period you don’t get annoyed with me, you give me what I need and give me cuddles and kisses. I want to have your child.” Riley smiled holding his hand

Mac smiled with tears in his eyes

“We can start, there's no one I’d rather want to carry my child, our child,” Mac said

Riley smiled and kissed him

“Let’s go inside,” Riley said

“Okay.”

Mac opened the front door and everyone yelled

“Surprise, Welcome Home Mac.”

Mac smiled and had to act shocked

“Damn it, he knew this was coming,” Jack said

“Thank you guys for this really but you didn’t have to.” Mac said

“We wanted to, you were on the brink of death for almost a month,” Bozer said

Mac saw Leanna and her baby bump

“I never got to figure out the gender, let me guess…..Boy?” Mac said

“Good guess, how did you know?” Leanna asked

“Bozer’s smile, he talked about wanting it to be a boy when you announced you were pregnant.”

Riley walked up to him and pulled him away.

“What are you doing?” Mac smiled

“I want to make an announcement” Riley smiled

Riley got up on the table in the living room and cleared her throat

“Riley has an announcement!” Jack yelled

“Thanks, dad.” Riley smiled

Jack smiled and gave a little nod

“We all know the last month has been tough on all of us, hearing that Mac was in the hospital made me feel like someone took a part of me away. Not seeing his smile, hearing his laugh, and seeing his beautiful blue eyes every day made it tough but Matty was there for me so were my parents. My parents came by and Jack told me, Mac would do anything and everything to come back to his family, Matty told me he was a fighter. He’s all of that and more, he’s the love of my life, he’s my present and future. To Mac.” Riley said raising her glass

“To Mac.” Everyone said

Mac had tears in his eyes at Riley’s speech

“Can I get everyone to make their way to the porch?” Mac asked

“Everyone to the porch!” Jack said

Everyone laughed and made their way out

Mac stood in front of everyone and spoke

“When I first met Riley I was in a bad place, drinking, depressed then I heard her order a drink at a bar. We talked, laughed, then she asked me to dance. I had no idea who she was but I accepted the offer. We danced then after that I offered to walk her home despite having my truck there. That was the night I fell in love, love at first sight, people might think it’s crazy but it happened.”

Riley had tears in her eyes and smiled

“When you called me to be your date to Leanna and Bozer’s wedding I was excited, not just to go to the wedding but to be able to see you again. The one thing I wanted to do was dance with you again and we did but we ended that dance with a kiss, the start of our relationship couldn’t have started better. Meeting your parents was terrifying but when I saw that your dad was Jack Dalton, I was happy not just because Jack was my overwatch in the army but because I got my best friend back.”

Jack hugged Riley and wiped his tears away

“A few hours before Leanna’s gender reveal party, I was making something, something that I knew would change me and Riley’s lives forever. I called Bozer over to tell him what I’ve done and he said ‘Riley is the luckiest woman in the world’ but to be honest I was the luckiest person in the world. Riley made my life one thousand times better than ever before and I stand here today because of her. She saved my life and now I want to thank her. Riley, will you come up here?” Mac asked

Riley smiled and walked to Mac

“I know you were probably thinking of Paris or a waterfall but…Bozer, press the button.” Mac said

Everyone started looking up and saw snowflakes fall, they all smiled and looked at Mac and Riley. Mac was on his knee holding the ring.

“Riley Davis, will you marry me?” Mac asked

Riley smiled and nodded

Mac slid the ring on her finger and stood up to kiss her

Everyone clapped and Jack hugged them

“You made me cry Hoss, good job.” Jack smiled

“I’m sorry, I think I made everyone cry including myself.” Mac smiled

Everyone watched as the snow fell to the porch and smiled, who sees snow in LA? Riley smiled and wrapped her arms around Mac’s neck.

“That was better than Paris, tonight if you're up for it I want to try making that baby of ours.” Riley smiled

“Riley, I’m all healed but I want you in control,” Mac smirked

“I can do that.” Riley laughed then kissed him

Everyone was happy, Leanna was talking with Riley and looking at the ring. She felt the baby kick and placed Riley’s hand on her tummy. Riley smiled feeling the baby kick and pouted, she wanted to have that, she wanted a baby.

“Hey Leanna, what if I told you me and Mac are gonna try for a baby.” Riley smiled

“What.” Leanna smiled

“We talked about it when we were outside, I don’t want something like that to happen to Mac again. Watching him in that bed got me thinking about it, I pitched the idea and he was so happy. He said he wants it too.” Riley smiled

“When do you plan on trying?” Leanna asked

“Tonight,” Riley said

“Ohh, then it looks like my little guy is gonna have a best friend.” Leanna smiled

“Here’s hoping.”

Mac’s talking with Jack, he was so happy to see his buddy again. Jack kept making sure no one was bumping into him not wanting him to fall apart or something. Mac pulled him aside to talk.

“Hoss, what up?” Jack asked

“You remember when we had dinner at your place and you talked about a grandkid running around?” Mac said

“Yeah,” Jack said

“Well, how would you feel about that becoming a reality?” Mac asked with a smile

Jack smiled and hugged him

“Is Riley pregnant?” Jack asked

“No, but we're gonna try,” Mac said

“Riley pitched the idea of having a kid after my accident and she was scared she was never gonna have a family. She’s wanted a family for a while and when she told me about what Billy did it made me sad that someone would do that to their pregnant girlfriend, I just want you to know I’d never hurt Riley like that.” Mac said

“I know you’d never let anything happen to Riley, that’s why I’m happy you two met. As soon as I saw you two dating I knew she found the right person.” Jack said

Mac smiled and hugged him

“Damn now you're making me cry.” Mac chuckled

“Payback.” Jack laughed

Hours later everyone, everyone has left. Mac and Riley are in bed naked, sweaty, smiling and Riley’s looking at her ring.

“I still can’t believe you made this.” Riley smiled

“I’ll buy a real one for our wedding but I wanted your engagement ring to be special,” Mac said

Riley up at him and leaned up

“God I love you,” Riley said before kissing him

Mac rolled on top of Riley and began their journey to start their family.

Chapter Text

Mac’s back at work and Riley’s taking time off to help with Leanna and make plans for her and Mac’s wedding coming up. They decided to do a small gathering, with friends, family. Leanna’s helping with finding a location and picking out a dress.

“What are you thinking about for your wedding? Something like me and Bozer’s or something else?” Leanna asked

“I was thinking along the lines of you and Bozer’s wedding,” Riley said

“What about the Bel-air Bay Club, a beautiful view of the ocean and a beautiful altar,” Leanna said typing it into Riley's laptop

Riley looked at the photos and smiled

“That looks beautiful, call and see if they have an opening in 4 months,” Riley said

“Okay, but 4 months is close to my due date,” Leanna said

“I know but I want you there with your baby bump,” Riley said smiling

“Speaking of, how is your baby-making going?” Leanna smirked

“I don’t know, it's been 3 weeks and nothing has happened.”

“Me and Bozer were trying for months before I finally got pregnant this takes time, okay,” Leanna said

Riley nodded and gave Leanna a grateful smile

“I’m gonna call Mac,” Riley said

“I’ll call the Bel-air Club.” Leanna smiled

Riley nodded and walked outside, she dialed Mac’s number and he answered within two seconds.

“Hey babe, how’s the wedding planning going?” Mac asked

“Good, me and Leanna found a place, the Bel-air Bay Club, it’s beautiful. How are you doing? I don’t need to see you in the hospital again.” Riley said

“I’m okay, Matty just has me doing things around the building. She doesn’t want me in the field for a bit because of our wedding and our plan for a baby.” Mac said

“Okay, glad to hear that. Leanna told me that our baby planning would take a few months so we’ll just keep trying.” Riley said

“I know but I have to ask and please don’t get mad…” Mac said before Riley spoke up

“No, I’m not taking birth control.” Riley clarified

“Okay, sorry I asked,” Mac said apologetically

“It’s okay, I know why you asked but when we get home we're having sex. We haven’t had sex for 3 days and I miss it.” Riley said

Mac chuckled

“Okay, when you get home I’ll be in our bed.” Mac smiled

“Can’t wait.” Riley smiled

They hung up and Riley walked back inside. Leanna had a smirk on her face and Riley rolled her eyes.

“So, you and Mac are having sex when you get home.” Leanna smiled

“Can you blame me, it’s been three days we’ve both been busy with wedding planning and his job so we’ve had little time together. How was the call with the club, was there an opening?” Riley asked

“Yep, 4 months just like you asked.” Leanna smiled

“Perfect, now I can go home and sleep with my fiance.” Riley smiled

“Go make that baby.” Leanna cheered as Riley left

Riley was laughing all the way to her car, she hopped in and drove home. She smiled when she beat Mac home so she parked her car in the garage and went inside, placed her stuff down, and undressed. She hopped on the bed and waited for Mac. Two minutes later, Mac walked through the front door and walked to his room to see Riley naked on the bed laying down.

“Damn, welcome home to me,” Mac said closing the door

Riley laughed and sat up moving towards Mac, She kissed him passionately and he picked her up before turning around and falling onto his back onto the bed. Riley smiled and Mac sat up and brought Riley with him, she reached for the bottom of his shirt and lifted it over his head. She threw his shirt to the floor and Mac flipped them over so Riley was on the bed, he stood up and removed his pants and underwear before climbing back on the bed and kissing Riley. He slowly started thrusting as he kissed her neck.

“I missed you,” Mac whispered into her ear

“I missed you too.” Riley moaned

Two hours later, both are out of breath, smiling and Riley’s kissing his jawline. Mac was gliding his hand over Riley’s half and over her waist, she loved the feeling of his callused hands on her smooth skin. She used her fingers to trace his biceps then down to his abs.

“Riley,” Mac said

“What?” Riley smiled looking at Mac

“You have no idea how happy I am with you in my arms, I can’t wait for us to get married,” Mac said

Riley smiled and kissed Mac

“I can’t wait to be Riley MacGyver, speaking of, what are we gonna do for our honeymoon?” Riley asked

“How about Yellowknife Canada, we can roast marshmallows, make love in front of a roaring fire.” Mac smiled

“That sounds perfect,” Riley said before kissing his cheek

They fell asleep smiling about their future together, the next couple of weeks were exciting. Mac looked at cabins in Yellowknife and Riley made the guest list and food menu of the wedding. She was at home writing down foods she wanted at the wedding then she got really lightheaded. Her mouth had a metallic taste in it and she knew what was about to happen, she got up and ran to the bathroom, and threw up in the toilet.

“That’s different, when was my last period?” Riley said to herself

She looked at her schedule and realized she hasn’t gotten her period for 2 weeks. A smile forms on her face, she washes her mouth out and drives to the store. Riley walked to the pharmaceutical section and picked up a box of pregnancy tests. She paid for them and drove home smiling, she was hoping for them to turn out positive. Running through the door she made her way to the bathroom and peed on the sticks and set a 5-minute timer.

“Please be positive,” Riley said crossing her fingers

Riley sat on the floor of the bathroom and waited. Hearing her phone go off she took a deep breath and flipped the test over, her eyes filled with tears and a smile formed on her face. The test came back positive. She picked up her phone and texted Leanna

Riley: Leanna

Leanna: What’s wrong?

Riley sent a picture of the pregnancy test

Riley saw Leanna’s name show up on her phone and answered the call

“You're pregnant?” Leanna smiled

“Yep.” Riley smiled with tears in her eyes

“Does Mac know?” Leanna asked

“Nope, I texted you as soon as I got the results back,” Riley said

“You should tell him, actually scratch that I’ll come over and help you surprise him,” Leanna said

“Okay see you soon.” Riley smiled

Riley hung up and jumped with excitement and screeched. She was so happy because she was going to be a mom. Mac was gonna be a father. She rubbed her stomach and smiled.

“You made me the happiest person in the world, I can’t wait to see how your dad reacts. We love you so much and can’t wait to meet you.” Riley smiled

A few minutes go by and Leanna arrives at the front door and doesn’t knock; she just walks right in until she sees Riley and hugs her.

“I can’t believe it, okay do you have plans for a way to tell Mac he’s gonna be a dad?” Leanna asked

“Not really, I was just thinking of showing him the tests,” Riley said

“No, no, no we are gonna go to the store and buy a baby shirt and put the test in a box with the tests,” Leanna said

“Okay.” Riley smiled

The two friends drove to the store and searched for the perfect shirt, Riley searched and searched, she found one and smiled. She picked it up and showed Leanna.

“Leanna, how about this one?” Riley smiled

“Perfect.” Leanna smiled

They bought the shirt and a gift box before heading back to Riley’s house. They set everything up and Leanna hugged Riley goodbye and good luck before leaving. Riley sat on the couch and smiled at the box on the kitchen counter and waited for Mac to come home. It’s 6:30 and Riley hears the door open and sees Mac, a smile forms on her face and she walks over to him and kisses him.

“Hello to you too.” Mac smiled

“How was your day?” Riley asked

“Good, I got to teach a tribe in Nigeria how to build a water pump,” Mac said

Riley smiled and kissed him before turning around and grabbing the box.

“Here.” Riley smiled handing Mac the present

“What’s this?” Mac asked

“A present.”

Mac smiled and took the top off the box seeing the baby shirt, he picked it up and read the text.

You’re going to be a great daddy

Mac smiled and saw the tests at the bottom of the box and his mouth dropped

“Really?” Mac smiled

Riley nodded with tears in her eyes

“I’m pregnant Mac.” Riley smiled

Mac placed the box down and hugged his fiance.

“I’m gonna be a dad!” Mac cheered

Riley laughed when Mac spun them around, he stopped and set her down on the couch and laid on her lap.

“Hey, I’m your dad, me and your Mom are super excited to meet you,” Mac said to Riley’s stomach

Riley smiled and stroked Mac’s hair

“I love you,” Mac said

“I love you too.” Riley smiled

It’s Mac and Riley’s wedding day and Riley doesn’t like the way her body is changing. She loves that she’s having a child but she doesn’t like the stretch marks, she thinks she's ugly. She’s crying at home when Mac walks through the front door and hears her cries and runs to their room.

“Rile’s why are you crying?” Mac asked softly taking her in his arms

“Look at me, it’s our wedding day, I look ugly and have horrible stretch marks.” Riley cried

“Hey, do you want me to tell you what I see?” Mac said

Riley nodded

“I see my soon-to-be wife caring for our son, these stretch marks are a symbol of his journey to this world, our world. I see the woman I fell in love with at a bar, the woman that saved me from myself, who gave me the best life I could’ve ever asked for, Riley you are not ugly, you are beautiful, strong and the smartest person I know.” Mac said

“Thanks.” Riley cried

Mac kissed her head, "Now let’s go to our wedding.” Mac smiled

“Yeah.” Riley smiled

Mac walked Riley to his truck and opened the door and helped her inside. He drove to the Bel-Air Club where their wedding is being held and split off to their separate rooms to get ready. Riley stepped into her dressing room and put on her wedding dress and makeup. Leanna, Kai, and Jill came in and smiled at Riley.

“You look beautiful,” Kai said

“Thanks, where’s Leanna?” Riley asked

“Right here,” Leanna said walking in with her hand supporting her back

“You should sit down,” Jill said

“I’m okay, this little man is due any day now.” Leanna smiled

Riley smiled

“Let’s get ready,” Kai said

Mac walked into his changing room and put his tux on and saw Bozer and Jack.

“Hey, Hoss you ready for this?” Jack asked

“Hell yeah, I’m gonna have a wife and a baby on the way. What more would I ask for.” Mac smiled

Jack hugged him

“When the little guy is born can me and Diane look after him when you and Riley go on your honeymoon?” Jack asked

“I’ll talk to Riley about it.” Mac smiled

Matty came in

“Mac, get your butt to the altar, your bride is coming out in 5 minutes,” Matty said

“Okay, I’m on my way,” Mac said

“See you guys in 5.” Mac smiled

Mac walked to the altar and waited with a smile on his face. He heard the music start and Jill and Kai came out together and stood behind where Riley would stand. Next came Bozer and Leanna who kissed then slipped up with Bozer standing behind Mac. The music changed and everyone stood up, Mac’s eyes filled with tears seeing Jack walk Riley down the aisle. When they reached the altar Jack lifted Riley’s veil over her head. Mac took Riley’s hands and the speaker started.

“Friends and Family of the BRIDE and GROOM, welcome and thank you for being here on this important day.

We are gathered together to celebrate the very special love between BRIDE and GROOM, by joining them in marriage.

All of us need and desire to love and to be loved.

And the highest form of love between two people is within a monogamous, committed relationship.

BRIDE and GROOM, your marriage today is the public and legal joining of your souls that have already been united as one in your hearts.

Mac turned to Bozer and picked up the ring and turned back to Riley, Leanna handed Riley the ring she would give to Mac.

“Do you Angus MacGyver take Riley Davis to be your Lawfully wedded Wife?”

“I do.” Mac smiled

And Mac slid the ring on her finger.

“Do you Riley Davis take Angus MacGyver to be your Lawfully wedded Husband?”

“I do.” Riley smiled sliding the ring on his finger

“I now pronounce you Husband and Wife, you may kiss the bride.”

Riley and Mac smiled and kissed each other. Everyone smiled and applauded, before Mac and Riley walked back down the aisle he kneeled down and kissed her baby bump. Standing back up he
intertwined their hands and walked down the aisle. They got their pictures taken, danced, fed each other a piece of cake and then Leanna touched her stomach.

“Oh god, I think my water just broke.” Leanna groaned

“Holy, oh god it’s happening,” Bozer said freaking out

“Riley, go with Leanna, you're her best friend. I'll deal with everything here.” Mac said

“Okay, I’ll see you soon.” Riley smiled and kissed him

Bozer, Leanna, Riley, Jill, and Kai all rushed to the hospital while Mac, Jack, and everyone else cleaned up. Mac and Jack were rushing so they could go see everyone, Diane and Matty followed Bozer and everyone else to the hospital. Two hours later, Mac and Jack arrived at the hospital still in tux and a thin layer of sweat on their foreheads, they spotted everyone sitting outside a hospital room, and Mac
ran to Riley as Jack ran to Diane.

“How did everything go, is she okay, are you okay?” Mac asked

“Yeah, I’m fine, Leanna’s fine, thank you for telling me to go with her. She kept apologizing for cutting our wedding short.”

“We knew the consequences of having our wedding near her due date, I’m just glad everything is okay.”

Riley nodded

“I just wish that was us in there.” Riley smiled

“I know but it’s 5 more months till we meet Avery MacGyver.” Mac smiled

“I still can’t believe I allowed you to name him Avery but I think I’m starting to like it,” Riley said feeling her tummy

“I think he likes it too.” Riley smiled

“What’s he doing?” Mac smiled

“I think his foot just slid across my stomach.” Riley laughed

Mac kneeled down and kissed her stomach

“Hey little man, I’d just like to tell you that me and your mom are officially married and we’re dying to meet you, so is grandpa.” Mac smiled

Riley chuckled and heard the door open

“Riley, Leanna wants you and Mac to see him first,” Bozer said

“Okay.” Riley smiled

She grabbed Mac’s hand and they walked into the room together seeing Leanna breastfeeding her son. Mac saw her breastfeeding and turned around causing Riley and Leanna to laugh.

“Mac, it’s fine she’s just breastfeeding,” Riley said

“Yeah, Mac, it's okay.” Leanna chuckled

“I know I’m just being respectful to you and Bozer,” Mac said

Bozer walked over to Mac and placed his hand on his shoulder

“Mac, it’s okay but if I catch you staring at her boobs I will kick you in the crotch,” Bozer said

“Okay.” Mac chuckled turning around

Riley smirked and Mac pulled her into a hug

“Oh and Bozer,” Riley said

“Yeah.”

“You knee my husband in the crotch. I'll leak your old tinder pictures.” Riley said

“Damn, I should probably delete those,” Bozer said pulling out his phone

“That won’t stop her.” Mac chuckled

Everyone laughed

“Riley, would you like to hold him?” Leanna asked

“Yes.” Riley smiled

Leanna handed her son to Riley

“Did you two decide on a name?” Riley asked

“Yep, we decided on Liam Bozer,” Leanna said

“Hi Liam, I’m your…” Riley didn’t know what to call herself

Leanna smiled

“Aunt, I know we're not sisters but I love you like one,” Leanna said

“Well, Liam I guess I’m your Aunt, and guess what, I’m carrying your cousin, Avery.” Riley smiled

Mac looked over Riley’s shoulder and smiled at Liam

“Do you want to hold him?” Riley asked

“Sure, I need the practice anyway.” Mac smiled

“That would be good.” Riley chuckled

Riley handed Liam to Mac and a smile formed on everyone's face, Mac rocked back and forth slowly and smiled at him.

“He’s so cute and has hair on his head already. I’m guessing he got that from Bozer.” Mac laughed

Everyone laughed and Bozer fake laughed

“Haha, Very funny,” Bozer said

“But it’s true,” Leanna said

“Babe, you're supposed to be on my side,” Bozer said

Everyone burst out into laughter and smiled hearing Liam laugh.

“Aww,” Riley said

“Can I have him back?” Leanna asked

“Yeah, me and Riley are gonna head home so everyone else can say hello,” Mac said

“Okay, tell Jill and Kai they can come in next,” Leanna said

“We will love you guys,” Riley said

“Love you too.” Leanna and Bozer said

Mac and Riley told Jill and Kai they could see the baby then they walked down the hospital hall hand in hand to Mac’s truck. Mac helped her in and closed the door behind her, he hopped in the driver's seat and they headed for home. When they arrived home they undressed and Mac helped Riley put her dress in the protective cover and they took a shower. Mac kissed her shoulder and held her stomach while the warm water splashed on them both.

“Well, Mrs. MacGyver, did you get everything you ever wanted?” Mac asked

“Yep and so much more, I love you, Mac,” Riley said turning to face him

“I love you too,” Mac said before kissing her

It’s been a long Five months but Riley and Mac are super happy because they're days away from meeting their son. It’s late Thursday night and Riley’s sitting on the couch reading The Runaway Bunny out loud for Avery to hear while Mac prepares dinner for her. He’s smiling hearing her express the emotions while she’s reading, he turns the burners to the oven off and walks over to her with grilled cheese and tomato soup.

“Hey little man, daddy just brought over grilled cheese and tomato soup. Hopefully, you're not picky.” Riley smiled

She goes to take a bite and stops. Feeling something wet trickle down her leg, she swallows hard and calls for Mac.

“Mac, my water just broke. We need to go to the hospital.” Riley said

“Okay, I’m gonna go grab our bag and help you to the car,” Mac said running to their room

“Please hurry,” Riley said clenching her eyes shut

Mac came running back and helped Riley to her feet, they walked to the door and Mac slid her slippers on. He guided her to his truck and helped her in before running to the driver's side and reversing out of the driveway and driving to the hospital. He calls Matty and Riley latches her hand to Mac’s thigh squeezing it, she’s breathing heavily and Mac is trying his best to rush to the hospital.

“Mac, it’s 10 pm.” Matty groaned

“Riley’s going into labor, I need you to call her parents and Leanna to meet at the hospital,” Mac said driving around cars

“Okay, I’ll get changed and call them, good luck and Riley deep breaths,” Matty said

“Okay,” Riley said shakily

Matty hung up and Mac could feel Riley’s grip getting tighter but he didn’t care his priority was making it to the hospital. He ran red lights and a police car started following them with the sirens blaring. Mac couldn’t pull over so he decided he would face the consequences when he got Riley to the hospital. Two minutes later he pulled up the hospital doors and the police cruiser pulled to a stop as Mac hopped out.

“Put your hands up!” The officer shouted

“Look my wife is in labor and she needs to get inside, please let me get her settled and I’ll be right back.” Mac pleaded

The officer heard Riley’s screams and nodded

“No need, get her inside, you did the right thing, and good luck.”

“Thank you,” Mac said

Mac ran around the car and helped Riley inside, nurses came running over with a wheelchair and Mac followed them to a room with their bag. He watched as Riley removed her clothes and put on a gown and was helped onto the bed. A nurse came over with a needle and Riley freaked out.

“What’s that for?” Riley asked before clenching her teeth

“It’ll numb you from the waist down, even help with the pain.”

“Okay.” Riley nodded

Mac walked over and held her hand, she felt his hand and squeezed it.

“It’s okay Rile’s deep breaths,” Mac said

Mac watched as the nurses put an IV in Riley’s hand and Mac saw Riley’s face relax.

“Pain gone down?” Mac asked

Riley nodded

“Can you get me some ice?” Riley asked

“Yeah,” Mac said

He got up and walked to the door but a nurse stopped him.

“Sir, sit with your wife, I’ll go get the ice.”

“Thank you,” Mac said

She gave him a small nod and Mac walked back to Riley. He took her hand and gave it a squeeze.

“The nurse went to go get the ice, she wanted me to stay with you,” Mac said

“Okay.” Riley breathed heavily

“Riley, focus on me, okay, In and Out,” Mac said slowly

Riley followed his breathing and nodded

The door opened and the nurse gave Mac a cup of ice chips. Riley took one immediately and chewed on it.

“That helps,” Riley mumbled

The doctor went over to check Riley’s dilation. Riley squeezed Mac’s hand and Mac kissed her head.

“Your 10 centimeters dilated, it’s time to push.”

“I don’t think I can do this,” Riley said with tears falling down her face

“Riley, honey, you can do this, I know you can. I'm not gonna leave your side, not now, not ever. You need to take a deep breath and push okay.” Mac said

Riley nodded and breathed in and pushed

“Aahhhh,” Riley screamed

“There you go,” Mac said

Riley gripped his hand and squeezed it tightly. The door opened and Riley saw Diane. She ran over to Riley’s other side and held her hand.

“Mom.” Riley cried as she leaned onto her mom

“I know baby, it hurts but you need to push,” Diane said stroking her hair then kissing her head

“Mac, can you keep talking?” Riley asked

“Yeah, just listen to my voice, take a deep breath and push come on baby. Just a few more pushes and the pain is over.” Mac said

Riley clenched her eyes shut and pushed screaming at the top of her lungs.

“Just a little more, Mrs. MacGyver.” The Doctor said

Riley continued to scream then let out a sigh of relief hearing cries. The doctor moved their son to a table to clean his airway and clip his umbilical cord. Mac had tears in his eyes along with Riley and he kissed her head. A nurse scrubbed the baby clean and wrapped him up in a blanket.

“Here’s your child, Mr. and Mrs. MacGyver.” The nurse smiled

She handed Riley her son and she smiled holding him for the first time. Mac smiled and his tears fell down his face. He kissed Riley’s head and Diane smiled and took her phone out and took a picture. The
doctors and nurses walked out and Diane followed to get Jack and Matty.

“You did good, baby.” Mac smiled

“I couldn’t have done it without you. Look at him, Avery MacGyver, our son.” Riley smiled

Mac took his phone out and took a picture

Avery started to cry

“Oh he might be hungry, can you pull down the top of the gown?” Riley asked

“Yeah,” Mac said folding one side over revealing Riley’s breast

Riley positions Avery near her breast and he latched on

“Oh slow down little guy.” Riley chuckled

Mac smiled and turned around hearing a knock at the door

“Hi,” Jack said softly

“Come meet your grandson.” Mac smiled

Jack smiled and walked over slowly and saw Avery. His eyes filled with tears and he hugged Mac.

“You guys did good.” Jack snuffled

“It was all Riley, she’s the hero here.” Mac smiled

“Hey, Avery wouldn’t be here without you so give yourself some credit.” Riley smiled

“Can Matty come in, she wants to see him,” Jack said

“Yeah, bring everyone in,” Riley said

“Are you sure?” Mac asked

“Yes, I want to see everyone.” Riley smiled

Mac nodded and stepped outside

“Riley wants everyone to come in. He’s eating so just keep it down.” Mac said

Everyone nodded and stood up, Leanna walked in first while Bozer carried Liam. When everyone was in the room Jack turned to face everyone as he cradled Avery in his arms.

“Hey little man, I’m your grandpa.” Jack smiling with tears forming in his eyes

Mac smiled and pulled his phone out taking a picture of this beautiful moment. Jack kissed Avery’s head and smiled and he stretched his arms out of the blanket.

“Watch where you're stretching, I don’t want to be known as one-eyed Jack.”

Everyone laughed

Mac walked over to Riley and climbed into the bed with her. She leaned her head on his shoulder and Mac kissed her head and took her hand.

“You did amazing,” Mac said

“Thank you for talking to me. I wouldn’t have been able to do it without you.” Riley smiled

Mac smiled and kissed her

“Can I hold him?” Matty asked

“Of course, Dad can you please hand Avery to Matty,” Riley said

Jack nodded and gently placed Avery in Matty's arms.

“That gives me time to show you….this,” Jack said reaching in his back pocket and showing a baby shirt

Riley and Mac laughed

“What?” Jack asked looking at the shirt

“I don’t think Avery is gonna want to wear a Metallica shirt,” Mac said laughing

“Can you at least think about it, I had to get it custom made,” Jack said

Riley and Mac looked at each other and smiled

“Fine, we’ll let him wear it,” Riley said

“Yes,” Jack said happily

Mac saw his Mom playing with Avery and smiled. He got out of the bed and kneeled down next to Matty before taking a picture.

“Who wants to hold him next?” Matty asked

“Leanna can hold him, She let me hold Liam first so it’s only fair that she goes next,” Riley said

Leanna smiled and kneeled down in front of Matty and gently cradled him in her arms. She smiled when he reached up and touched her chin.

“Hi, Avery, I’m your aunty.” Leanna smiled

She walked over to Bozer and he waved at Avery then showed Liam.

“And this is your cousin, Liam.” Leanna smiled

Mac took his phone and captured the moment.

“You need to send me that,” Leanna said

“I’ll send all these out when everyone's held him,” Mac said

After an hour of passing Avery around and taking pictures, everyone was yawning and Avery was asleep. Diane handed Avery back to Riley and kissed her head before saying goodbye. Matty hugged Mac
and congratulated Riley and Mac before leaving. The room is now quiet and Mac, Riley and Avery are the only ones in the room.

“What a night,” Mac said with a smile

“Mac, why didn’t you hold him?” Riley asked

“I wanted everyone else to hold him. I was worried that if I held him, I wouldn’t want to give him up.” Mac said

Riley patted the bed indicating Mac to lay next to her and he did. She held Avery over towards Mac and he positioned his arms to cradle him. Riley smiled seeing Mac hold their child for the first time. She
grabbed her phone and took a picture.

“Hi Avery, I’m your dad. I want you to know that I’ll do every science experiment with you, every boy scout badge you earn, we'll celebrate with ice cream and when you're old enough, I’ll teach you how to fix anything.” Mac said in a soft voice

Riley smiled and kissed his shoulder

“Thank you, Mac, for being my husband and the father to our child. If I didn’t meet you in that bar I don’t think we would’ve gotten here today.” Riley said

Mac smiled and kissed her

“You’ve given me everything I could’ve ever asked for a family, a home to come to too, and you, my beautiful, strong, loving wife. You saved my life that night in the bar and when I was in my coma. I love you, Riley MacGyver.” Mac said

“I love you, Angus MacGyver.” Riley smiled before kissing him

Four Months after Mac and Riley had Avery, they went on their honeymoon. They left Avery with Jack and Diane with visits from Matty. Mac and Riley stayed in a cabin, with a fire pit built into the wall of the cabin, they roasted marshmallows and made love in front of a roaring fire. They video chat every day to check on Avery and every time they checked in he was all smiles and laughs. They loved their honeymoon but all things come to an end, the young couple flew home to their son.

Two Months after Avery’s first birthday, Riley found out she was pregnant again and when she told Mac he was more than excited. The only problem was where would they put her then Mac got an Idea.

“What if I get rid of my lab, I can sell the equipment, we can renovate the room, repaint, put new floorboards, it can be our little project while baby number two finishes cooking.” Mac smiled

“I think it’s a great idea but are you sure about selling the equipment?” Riley asked

“Oh yeah, I just don’t want Avery or little one to get into anything that can hurt them,” Mac said

“Then let’s list everything for sale.” Riley smiled

“Okay,” Mac said before kissing her

After listing everything for sale, within two weeks everything sold for a total of fifteen thousand dollars. Riley decided to hold off on the paint because not knowing the gender was the issue but they put carpet in, some stuffed animals, and loads of toys. Avery helped too, he crawled around the room when Mac and Riley showed him where they should put the stuffed animals. When everything was all set and done they decided to tell everyone about their second pregnancy and Jack was thrilled, so was everyone else but when Jack figured out it was a girl both he and Mac were the happiest they could be.

Seeing their daughter for the first time, Mac decided he didn’t want to be the last one to hold her.

“Can I hold her first?” Mac asked

“Mac is that even a question,” Riley said

Mac smiled and held his daughter, everyone was in awe seeing Mac hold her and seeing her little arms touch his face.

“Did you guys decide on a name?” Matty asked smiling seeing her son hold his child

Mac smiled

“Estella,” Mac said

Everyone pouted at the name and Mac’s face when he said it. When Riley was discharged from the hospital and was able to go home, she smiled seeing Mac carry both her kids in his arms. Avery loved his
sister, he was gentle, and when he saw Riley in the hospital bed and asked Mac if Mommy was okay. That warmed Riley’s heart and when she got home with Mac and their two kids she knew their family was complete, two beautiful children, a safe home, and a loving Husband.
