Chapter Text
Keep adding pressure to the wounded area to minimize the blood loss. The phrase that Finana kept repeating to herself as she tried her best to apply pressure with both hands, blood seeping through her fingers, and to the ground painting the grass a deep red.
She could hear the battle around them still raging on, some of her guards calling out to her through the bloodshed but the only thing she was focused on was the shallow breathing coming from the other girl below her. This purple-headed idiot in her arms was more important right now. The only person that made the princess laugh and feel more than alive was bleeding out on the ground, mismatched eyes struggling to stay awake.
Stay alive, please stay alive. Don't leave me alone. Please. Don't go… All these thoughts bouncing around in her head as she tries and prays to every deity she knows to let the person she loved so dearly stay alive got interrupted as a draconic hand cupped her cheek.
Finana looks down at the owner of the said hand and sees blue and purple slitted eyes muttering an apology with a sad bloodied smile struggling to speak,
"Maybe in another life yeah?"
And her love smiles, she always did even when things weren't looking so bright. Even when she suffered for something that she had no control over. Finana tries her hardest, she really does but her tears betray her as they streamed down her face and dripped to the other's face. It wasn't fair. They didn't do anything wrong. Just because her love wasn't a of pure-blood doesn't mean that they can do this. It just wasn't fair...
A final gentle caress from her lover's scarred hand brings her to a sob, wracking her body in waves when she finally breaks down as she clutches the half-dragon closer to her. Uncaring how the blood that spilled was staining her dress.
The courtyard was silent. The guards and soldiers could hear nothing but the silent sobs that the princess let out as she clutched the lifeless body of the half-dragon. The battle that had been raging on moments before had come to a stop the moment the sob was heard. They could only watch and stare at the two in the center of it all, questioning themselves about what they did.
One last piercing wail echoed throughout the courtyard and...
Finana jolted awake breathing erratically, tears staining her cheeks and her pillows, a hand clutching her chest. The green-haired girl took a moment to herself, looking around her somewhat messy room, squinting when a sliver of light hit her in the eyes.
Raising a hand to her face to wipe some of the tears, Finana groaned. This had been the 5th time in 2 weeks that she had woken up crying from a dream she could barely remember. Only the feeling of emptiness and tears remained when she woke up from them. Ahhh... she should really tell someone about these. It's getting a bit tiring waking up like that... Although she's pretty sure that she won't be able to look at purple and blue the same way for a while. At least, that was really the only thing she could remember from these dreams anyways.
An alarm from her phone made her almost fall out of her bed with how deep she was inside her head before she finally got to turn it off.
'What time is it even?' Finana thought to herself, only to let out a screech later and trip over herself once she realizes that she was quite possibly, late as fuck to her class. She got about halfway to where she needed to be before ultimately deciding to skip it and head somewhere else instead... It was definitely not because this particular class had already been going on for an hour already. Nope, definitely not because of that.
"I am so screwed."
Deep in thought, she didn't notice that a blonde figure had been following her around for the better part of five minutes now.
"Screwed how, Finana?"
And at that moment, Pomu regretted sneaking up on the shorter girl. The fairy had forgotten that her friend screams like she was getting murdered.
"POMU! WHY'D YOU HAVE TO JUMPSCARE ME LIKE THAT?!"
Massaging her pointed ears lightly, the fairy muttered 'I wish I didn't' low enough for Finana to not notice.
"That's beside the point... anyways how come you're not in class?" Pomu asked instead, continuing to walk beside her.
When the fairy noticed that the mermaid didn't reply after they'd been walking for a while, she took a better look at her friend who was flushing a bright red.
"Finana?"
Even more silence from the mermaid. More than usual which made the blonde frown but before she could say anything she heard a very fast 'Don't worry about it' from the feesh.
Unable to take Pomu staring holes into her soul, Finana sighed,
"I'll tell you later when we meet with Elira." Seeing the fairy nod, she breathed a sigh of relief. She's grateful to have a friend like Pomu but sometimes the fairy can be the most terrifying person there is. Finana would rather not have the stare of disappointment or concern directed at her so early in the morning... Okay, maybe not that early but still.
Just as Finana was about to ask Pomu something, she got interrupted by her stomach growling. Wanting some attention and food. The two stop walking, Finana once again flushing a bright red to the tips of her fins and Pomu with a knowing shit-eating grin.

"You slept through your alarms again, didn't you Finana?"
"Uh. Noooooo.....?"
Pomu's smile got even wider while Finana could feel her sweatdrop.
"Noooooooo....." The feesh whines before relenting, "FIne, yeah I did... I have a reason tho..."
"Suuuuureeeee" Pomu decided to let it slide, that was enough of teasing Finana... For now at least.
Huffing slightly, the feesh elbowed the fairy gently before the two finally arrived at the food court to get something to eat. The two fought for a bit before settling on getting some ramen because 'No Finana, You can not eat Doritos as the first thing you eat for the day.'
With Pomu gone to get their food, Finana was left alone with her thoughts for a bit. She tries to recall what she could from the dreams she'd been getting, why she was getting them, and why she feels like someone took a part of her that she could never get back. Yet, she couldn't bring herself to really hate these dreams, there was always that inexplicable warmth that blooms from the center of her chest until she feels warm all over. A sense of safety too now that she thinks about it.
Sighing softly while shaking her head, there wasn't really anything that she could do about it for now. Although, it'll probably help when she tells Pomu and Elira later about it. Who knows, maybe they'll know something about it, or at the very least she'll finally be able to tell someone else about it so she won't have to think as much.
