"Morgan? Derek wake up."
That was the sound Morgan woke up to in the morning, not the bright sun streaming through his open curtains, not the smell of fresh bacon and eggs- not even warm arms wrapping around him. No, it was Reid, whispering and giggling in his ear.
But he wouldn't have it any other way.
"I know you're awake." His boyfriend said, kissing the spot just above Morgan's ear, "Your breathing pattern changed."
The words from anyone else would have creeped the hell out of Morgan, but Reid was different. His mind noticed things other people didn't, small silly things which shouldn't matter but somehow meant the world to the man. It was one of the reasons he loved the man so much.
Morgan was enjoying teasing Reid by not waking up, he could practically feel the pout on his face when he didn't open up his eyes to greet him.
"Fine then."
There was a small pause before something wet was poked into Morgan's ear.
The action was so uncalled for Morgan found himself shooting up into a sitting position, wiping his ear while looking at Reid with a horrified expression.
"What the hell was that?" He asked, only to be answered by the heavenly sound of his boyfriend giggling. Morgan looked to Reid to see him lying on his back in a heap of laughter, his eyes screwed shut in amusement.
And Morgan could never be mad at that face, even when the owner of it just shoved his wet finger into his ear. Reid just looked too good lying there, one of Morgan's shirts hanging off his frame, his messy hair looking so perfect for someone who just woke up. He cracked a smile and moved to lie down next to him.
He pulled Reid towards him, cupping his face and kissing him. The man happily complied, wrapping his arms around Morgan's neck and tangling their limbs together. Morgan could taste the minty flavour of his toothpaste, that was always the first thing Reid did when he woke up, and the unique taste of Spencer.
They pulled away and Morgan took a moment to admire the man he was so utterly grateful to be able to call his boyfriend, his lover even.
"Morning Pretty Boy." He whispered, stroking his cheek lovingly.
Reid smiled, "Look who's up now sleepy head."
"Yeah? And who's fault is that?" Morgan teased, not being able to resist placing another kiss on Reid's lips. "You owe me breakfast now."
"Noooooo." Reid whined. He shoved his head into the mans chest and wrapped himself around him like a koala. "We're not getting up yet."
Morgan chuckled at his boyfriend's behaviour, resting his cheek onto of his curly hair, "Yeah well I want bacon and pancakes so scoot your skinny butt out of bed."
He felt Reid sigh against him before pulling back. "I do really love pancakes."
"That's the spirit!"
Morgan watched Reid pull himself away from their embrace and walk out the room towards the kitchen, humming the tune to no doubt one of the songs he had heard on the radio. Morgan flipped onto his front and reached for his phone to check the time.
10:46am
He was glad Hotch had given the team a few days off to recover from the last sleepless case they had solved, everyone needed a break after the amount of victims and time they had spent working to solve it. It had all worked out in the end however, with the Unsub being arrested and promised at least a life sentence in prison, thank God.
Morgan quickly checked through his emails, replying to a message from JJ before standing up and following the delicious sent of bacon to the kitchen. He was greeted with the glorious sight of Reid cooking, shaking his head softly to the melody he was humming whilst flipping some pancakes.
He seemed to be lost in his own little world and Morgan took the chance to just admire him. He knew he was probably smiling like a love sick fool but who was to blame him? His beautiful boyfriend?
Reid must have felt his gaze as he turned around to smirk, "Enjoying the view?"
"Very much so." Morgan muttered, strolling towards him in favour of hugging him from behind, placing his chin on Reid's shoulder to watch him cook. He kissed his neck gently.
"I love you." Morgan mumbled into him, voice muffled by the shirt.
"I love you." Reid replied, angling his head around to kiss Morgan's. "A lot."
Morgan always loved that about Reid, whenever he said he loved the man, he never said 'I love you too', always 'I love you'. Like he needed to prove to the man that he loved him as much as Morgan loved him, show that it wasn't just something he felt in return, but something he had always felt.
"We have any plans for the day?" Reid asked, bringing Morgan back to the present.
"Not yet, why, got any ideas?" Morgan replied, letting go of the man to grab some apple juice out the fridge and a couple of glasses.
"I guess not, I mean, there is an opening of a new book shop in town. We don't have to go but I thought they might have some new- "
"Its a date." Morgan kissed him on the cheek and smiled when he saw the joy light up on his boyfriend's face.
Reid finished up cooking the bacon before adding it to the pile of pancakes on their plates. He carried them over to where Morgan was sat on the couch trying to find something to watch.
"Breakfast is served sir." He imitated a posh accident whilst bowing gracefully.
"Okay you are the biggest nerd I've ever met." Morgan chuckled.
Reid stuck out his tongue before cuddling up to his side, "You better not be meeting any other nerds."
"You're my only nerd Reid, I promise."
"Good."
Morgan looked over at Reid and smiled, the man was already half-way through his first pancake, eyes glued to the screen which was displaying the news.
He didn't think he could ever get tired of this.
