Untenable rage.
Red skies and broken Earth.
Thoughtless, insurgent fury.
Broken chains and blue smoke
Contemptuous Death.
The Huli Jing of the Western Skies had broken from her imprisonment of thousands of years. The terrible Monkey King, Sun Wukong had imprisoned her and wounded her Love, the Monstrous Spider Queen so many years ago. Her final memories burned into her mind before the haze of imprisonment choked out her own thoughts. The rage of defeat had not been quelled by her interment. The Queen of the Western Skies seethed and dripped with righteous anger. Her beautiful forests were destroyed, her skies, full of smog and overturned earth. A warpath was now within her sights and with no end. So powerful was her rage, so intense her fury, that the heavens and oceans themselves flinched, overcome by the overwhelming emotions and raw power manifested by the Demon Queen of the Huli Jing.
A voice, dripping with a sticky sweet poison seeps into the mind of the Queen of the Western Skies. It ebbs and flows like the rings in a pond, just hardly cutting through the umbridge and chaos within the mind of the Queen.
Sun Wukong… Kill the Sun Wukong. Wipe his memory from this Earth as he has wiped that of your Love’s from the Living World.
The Huli Jing, still driven nearly mad by her own rage attacked the presence within her mind thoughtlessly. Her own qi weaponized by years of torment while imprisoned, it invaded the source of the voice, incandescent flashes of power hunted the strings and edges of it as it retreated like a cruel, rabid dog chasing a diseased hare. Flashes of memories played like a sputtering candle casting light upon a torn canvas. Visions of her Love. Victory over Sun Wukong. A terrible engine. The cruel curl of satisfaction as she was… the Queen falters with a sudden and renewed grief. This energy was not unfamiliar. It was cold, disguised, and malformed and it enraged the Queen of the Western Skies. Lifting herself from the disturbed earth her face twists again into one of rage.
The presence retreated but it did not flee the area. It condensed into a single form behind the Demon Queen. Taunting her.
How dare you.
The Queen struck with a deadly accuracy. Neither her claws or her speed had dulled during those years, they were wickedly sharp and rung as they cut through the air at her target. What she struck was neither flesh or spirit, but some horrific amalgam of human form and demonic energy. Unnatural. Repugnant. Familiar. In the moment she reeled in disgust the creature recoiled and broke into a whisp of blue smoke and echoing whispers, polluting the air of the chamber with a stale, dead smell.
An ancient language, one that the White Bone Demon and all denizens of the three kingdoms would understand, the only that could come close to allowing the Queen to express the rage and anger that now controlled her entire being, the Huli Jing roars with a tremendous tenor. It echoes for miles, shakes the Earth, alarms the Heavens and reverberates in the deepest canals of the Underworld.
