Chapter Text

Chapter one

Today was the day. The day prospective new hero’s tried to get into the most famous hero school there was, UA. Outside of the grand building young hopefuls gathered. Most of the wide eyed, hyper children were vibrating in excitement but one young student stood out from the rest.

Green fluffy hair with bright emerald eyes full of determination and pain . He wore a black jumper with the words ‘we all die’ in white. The most peculiar thing about this child was that he had no legs. He was in a wheelchair and used his hands to wheel himself towards the entrance of the most prestigious hero school there was.

Some people stopped to stare and scoff. Since the age of quirks physical disabilities had all but disappeared. With healing quirks and evolutionary progress, most people who were disabled where injured hero’s and they tended to be much older. So to see a young child in a wheelchair. Most had never considered such a thing.

Izuku midorya was an expert at ignoring the ignorant by now and the stares just made him more focused on his goal. After reassuring the invigilator that yes he was here for the hero theory exam and no he didn’t think he was more suited to general study or support theory. He finally made it to his seat safely, if a bit pissed stewing over (not for the first time) that a society of mutations and superpowers should be less judgemental.

Izuku glided through the exam with ease. Most of the questions were simple and boring however the extra credit question ‘ Explain the concept and reality of heroism in society without referring to quirks’. Izuku found this to be an incredible and the perfect question for him. Having been quirkless until he was ten, he had a lot of respect for whoever made this question. Izuku asked for so much extra paper on this question that the invigilator gave up on the third time he asked and dumped about 15 pages on his desk with a huff. After his amazing essay (if he did say so himself) and checking all his answers twice, he still had an hour left. Raising his hand and coughing loudly when it looked like the invigilator wouldn’t move, Izuku handed his paper over and was directed to the auditorium by a smug looking invigilator. ‘Gave up then kid? Auditoriums over there if you still want to give heroism a try’ he whispered sarcastically. Rolling his eyes Izuku moved on to the auditorium smiling smugly. He would love to be there when the nosey invigilator looked at his paper. Some people needed a good kick in the butt and he was clearly one of them.

Of course there was no wheelchair room. Stairs to most of the seats and the front row had no where to safetly place a wheelchair. Sighing in defeated frustration Izuku wheeled himself by the stage, put on his breaks tightened his backpack so it wouldn’t swing about and then gracefully hand walked to one of the front seats. It wasn’t ideal he would either have to get in his wheelchair just before the meeting ended or after everyone left but it was better than blocking the aisle he guessed.

Putting in his headphones and latching onto his laptop like a lifeline Izuku barely noticed when the first few student started to fill in. By the time the auditorium was full Izuku had hacked into the schools system. Read the criteria and presentation for the exam briefing. Broken into the security cameras and send nedzu a quick message. Yes breaking into the system and taunting the principle probably wasn’t great when he was trying to enter his school but he was bored. And in a world full of bigots he needed to do whatever he could to stand out. He wasn’t leaving here today without making waves. Actually forget ways. Izuku midorya was bringing a whole fucking tsunami.
