Sasuke returned to Konoha much earlier than expected. But he kept having the same dream, in which Naruto disappeared without any explanation. Everyone around the blonde man was acting as if Naruto had never existed. They were watching Sasuke as if he was crazy, as he was running around the village looking for Naruto.
'Stupid dream.'
But stupid or not, Sasuke had decided to return to Konoha, and see his friend again to calm his racing mind.
Since the end of the war, Naruto had been studying to become the next Hokage. Normally, when Sasuke came back to Konoha, he would find his friend either studying in the tower, or at home relaxing.
Sasuke had promised himself to leave Konoha for a long time. Naruto started to write to him regularly, sometimes up to twice a week. One of the few things that could make his stern features smile was reading these letters. He didn't answer all of Naruto's letters, Sasuke didn't have much to answer him. But Naruto didn't seem to mind and kept writing to him. He talked about everything, complained about Iruka burying him under a ton of study, about Ichiraku's newly developed recipes, and many other things.
Sasuke quickly realized that he was looking forward to the next letter from Naruto. So, he broke his promise slightly, and returned to Konoha more often than he had planned...For Naruto...Always for him.
So, tonight was not different from the others, he arrived around 11 pm, and headed to Naruto's apartment without waiting. He passed through the door without slowing down. The guards at the doors were used to seeing him arrive and leave without permission. So, they just noted his arrival in the book before moving on.
When the apartment appeared in his field of vision, he slowed down. Strangely, there was no light in the apartment. Perhaps Naruto had gotten to bed earlier than he had expected. Sasuke walked to the living room window, he always entered from there. Once inside, he realized that the apartment was empty. But he still walked to the blonde's room, to be sure that his senses were not deceiving him.
The room was as usual, dirty laundry on the floor, the bed not made, and books everywhere on the bed. Sasuke walked into the room. It was a bit strange to be alone in this room where Naruto was sleeping. He approached the bed, sat down, and closed his eyes. The tiredness of the trip was catching up with him, and like every time he visited Naruto, he slept so well at blondie's place.
But this was no time to fall asleep, he had to find out where Naruto was so late. He took a deep breath of the smell around him, and then opened his eyes. He focused his mind on Naruto's chakra. A few seconds later he found him in the northern part of the village, and Sasuke frowned. What was Naruto doing in this part of the village? It was mostly bars, as well as a few brothels.
Sasuke squinted his eyes. He didn't like to think about what Naruto was doing there. Without waiting another second, he ran to the north of the village. He didn't use the roads, he used the rooftops to get there faster, and not to run into anyone.
Once there, Sasuke focused his attention on Naruto's familiar chakra, and followed him easily to the door of a broken down bar. He wondered briefly how the building was still standing. He couldn't believe he was seeing such a thing in Konoha.
Naruto's chakra felt strange, it almost seemed to vibrate, and that was something Sasuke had never felt before today. He made sure that the hood was on his head and hiding his face before he opened the door. The smell of rancid sweat, and old beer hit him like a sledgehammer. He had to hold himself back from throwing up his meal.
'Damn it, Naruto. What are you doing here?'
The bar was built lengthwise, a few tables here, and there. The counter was to the right, and no other men were present except the bartender. He did not even look up when the door closed behind Sasuke. His eyes quickly swept the room, and there was no trace of the blond man.
‘Where the fuck is he?’
He clearly felt Naruto's chakra trying to explode but it was almost immediately sealed off.
‘Something's wrong!’
He strode purposefully to the back of the bar, still no trace of Naruto, but his chakra was definitely emanating from here. Suddenly, a dull sound came from his left, and his eyes fell on the closed bathroom door. A very uneasy feeling came over him.
Sasuke walked towards the door. When he tried to open it, the door was locked. Without hesitation he gave a powerful kick and entered. In a second, he understood what was happening in front of him. His Mangekyo sharingan came to life, and the two men surrounding Naruto fell to the dirt floor, motionless.
One of them had been kneeling down, his pants down, and his cock in his hand ready to push it into Naruto. While the other was holding the shoulders of the blond to prevent him from moving. The only thing Sasuke didn't understand, was how these two civilians were able to immobilize a jinchuriki so easily.
He pushed the unconscious men hard, pulled up Naruto's pants, and took him like a princess.
"Dobe, I'm taking you home."
The blood would flow...As soon as Naruto was safe.
Sasuke opened a portal with the help of his rinnegan, there was no way he was about to waste a single second. He had to find out what was making Naruto almost catatonic, and then...then someone would pay dearly.
Once at Naruto's house, Sasuke laid him on the unmade bed, and began to remove the soiled clothes he was wearing. He smelled of alcohol, cigarette smoke, and vomit. Sasuke realized that Naruto had been sick, and his blood boiled with rage.
Who was it?
How?
Naruto was far from being a defenseless ninja. How those stupid villagers had managed to incapacitate the Kyûbi. He could hear a slight humming coming from Naruto, still unconscious. Once the last piece of clothing was removed, the blond was dressed only in his underwear, and Sasuke observed the gorgeous body in front of him.
He wanted to caress this body, to erase all traces of soiling that the others had dared to deposit on the blonde. But he could not see anything that explained what had happened. So, he knelt on the bed, and turned Naruto on his stomach.
'Holy shit!'
A seal had been placed on Naruto's lower back. While still with the snake, he had seen this seal of immobilization. This one was particularly powerful, and as far as Sasuke knew, not many people were able to create them. He put his hand on the sign and with the help of his rinnegan removed it without too much difficulty. When removing it, Sasuke had to make sure he didn't hurt Naruto and his chakra. The second he succeeded; an explosion of angry red chakra surrounded him.
Sasuke had only a millisecond to teleport to other sides of the room.
‘I'm going to make you disappear like a bug!’
Kurama declared menacingly in Sasuke's mind; the ninja barely had time to conjure his Susanoo to protect himself from the angry fox's attack.
‘Kurama! It's me! '
The fox made another red arm appear, ready to attack Sasuke again. He didn't want to use his sharingan against Kurama, the demon was just beginning to tolerate Sasuke's presence. If he tried to calm him down with the sharingan, he would have to start from scratch, and what small confidence he had managed to gain would be lost.
He then contented himself with blocking Kurama's attacks and hoped he would eventually realize where he was.
'Kyûbi! Naruto is home, safe!'
All he hoped was that the fox was able to hear him through the link that connected him to Naruto. Another attack hit the Susanoo hard without doing any real damage, but the neighbors might wonder.
"Kyûbi..."
Naruto whispered weakly.
Sasuke let Susanoo disappear and ran towards the blond who had opened his eyes with difficulty. The red chakra had intersected around Naruto like a blanket, ready to attack if necessary.
"Naruto!"
Sasuke's voice caught in his throat. He grabbed one of the blonde's hands between his own. And he realized how scared he had been...Scared of losing this extraordinary being who had saved his life. He had banished the darkness that had enveloped his entire being and soul. The one and only person who had never abandoned him despite the fact that he had done everything to abandon him.
Yet, Sasuke had abandoned him again to go traveling, looking for his redemption...While his redemption had been here all along. Naruto had always been his salvation. And like a fool, he had hurt him again. But every time he came back to Konoha, Naruto was waiting for him with a smile. Like a beacon in the darkness that surrounded Sasuke.
"What happened, Naruto? Who did this to you?"
Sasuke sensed that Kurama and Naruto were having a conversation. So he waited, while keeping the blonde's hand in his,
"I don't know..."
Naruto answered him after a few moments.
"Kurama remembers that I was walking back home, that we passed two villagers. And then we both lost consciousness."
Naruto's bluish gaze remained on Sasuke's, not daring to move the hand his best friend was holding. He feared that if he moved Sasuke would go away again.
The Uchiha's gaze turned into a sharingan, and his free hand tightened on the bed.
"They had in their possession a powerful seal of immobilization. Orochimaru had created it while I was still there."
Naruto continued to watch him, he didn't want to break contact, he was absorbing as much detail as possible. He knew that before long, Sasuke would leave him again, and he would be alone.
"What I don't understand is how they could have secured it to you..."
Sasuke tried to stand up, to walk up and down, to think better, but Naruto's hand tightened strongly against his.
"No!"
He almost shouted, before finally breaking eye contact, and continuing in almost a whisper.
"Don't leave me alone, please."
The pain, the fear in Naruto's voice squeezed Sasuke's heart, and he looked back at him. The bluish gaze had never seemed so sad, scared as it did right now. And Sasuke knew at that moment, that he would never leave Naruto alone. He approached and placed his index finger on the forehead of the blond boy. He fell back to the bed, asleep. Sasuke had to solve this problem immediately...Then, he would take care of Naruto.
"Kyûbi. Take care of him, I.…I have a visit to make."
The fox did not answer, but the orange aura enveloped Naruto like a blanket, and Sasuke knew he could leave in peace. He put a protective seal on the door as well as the windows, more for his peace of mind than anything else.
Sasuke quickly returned to the infamous bar where he had found Naruto. This time the place seemed to be closed, but that didn't stop him from smashing the door, and going inside.
The bartender was trying to wake up the two unconscious men still lying in the bathroom. He jumped to his feet when he heard the front door explode. The man reeked of fear. He was not a shinobi, Sasuke could tell that at a glance, but he did have a kunai. He tried - stupidly - to attack Sasuke, who only had to move to the left, and used his foot to knock the man down. The shinobi bent down and pressed his knee into the small of the man's back.
"How? And why did you attack Naruto?"
The man grunted instead of answering, trying to get out of the way. Sasuke didn't have the patience to deal with this fool. He grabbed his index finger, and broke it with a quick wrist movement. The man screamed.
"Okay! OK!"
Sasuke didn't move, waiting for the next part.
"They paid me to keep the bar closed, and to be able to use the place for...To 'deal with the demon' that's all I know, I swear!"
Sasuke stood up and walked over to the two men still standing motionless, lost in a nightmare world of Mangekyo sharingan.
"And who hired them?"
He asked without looking at the man who was crying on the ground holding his injured hand.
"I - sniff - I don't know. I didn't ask."
Sasuke shrugged. He easily grabbed the unconscious men, opened a portal and disappeared. He knew exactly where to go with those two fools. He would get the information he needed from them, and then pass it on to Kakashi. The Hokage would not ask any questions - he never did - and these two men would never be found alive.
Kakashi looked up from the documents he was finishing to put away when Sasuke's chakra signature notified him of his arrival. A few seconds later, his former protéger appeared with a dark look on his face, and clothes covered with clothing...not his own of course.
"What happened, Sasuke?"
Sasuke furrowed his eyebrows in anger.
"Well, it seems that despite all that Naruto did for Konoha during the war, was quickly forgotten."
Kakashi straightened up in his chair, his fatigue forgotten, and all his attention was on his former student.
"What do you mean?"
Sasuke summarized what had led him to find Naruto unconscious, and Kurama incapacitated in the crappy bar.
"When I woke up the two villagers, they tried to resist, to not answer my questions...But that didn't last."
"Do you have any names for me?"
Sasuke tossed a notebook onto the desk, and Kakashi opened it before quickly reading through it.
"Damn...There are about twenty names...And what was their...Purpose?"
The aura of cold anger, of wanting to kill that was emanating from Sasuke was so strong, that Kakashi feared to see the anbu appear. But Sasuke calmed himself.
"Reducing him to nothing. He wanted to break him morally, physically, and then they planned to kill him."
The clenched fists along Sasuke's body, belied the calm tone of his voice. Kakashi took the time to read over the list of names. The majority were villagers, and former ninjas who had supported Danzo. Nothing surprising. But Kakashi knew he would have to strike hard, and kill the cell before it had time to spread like a cancer.
"Where is Naruto?"
"Safe."
Kakashi watched Sasuke for a moment before nodding.
"Where are the two men?"
Sasuke looked at him, his face devoid of any emotion, and shrugged.
"No idea."
The Hokage nodded not believing a word of it, but it made things much easier to deal with. He sighed; he wasn't returning home tonight...
"I'll take care of the rest!"
Then he gave Sasuke his leave, who immediately vanished in a cloud of smoke. The Hokage would have a lot of work to do. He couldn't believe that despite the battles, and the opponents Naruto had defeated, there were still people who feared him. He would not tolerate that. Kakashi vowed to make an example of this attack, every man and woman on the list would be publicly punished severely. He called in a group of anbu that he particularly trusted and ordered the arrest of the people on the list provided by Sasuke.
Sasuke reappeared two seconds later at one of Naruto's windows and looked around. Everything was quiet, no strange signs or unwanted presence. He removed the seal to enter Naruto's house, and then put it back. He moved quickly towards the blonde who was still asleep on the bed. His mouth was slightly ajar, a small snore escaped from him, and the fox's chakra still enveloped him.
Sasuke and Kyûbi mentally confronted each other. But they decided to bury the hatchet for the moment. After all, at this moment, they had a common goal; to protect their blond idiot.
Sasuke had no regrets about the way he had disposed of the two men who had tried to defile Naruto. He had killed them as easily as any enemy he had encountered in his life. Sasuke almost regretted removing them from the Mangekyo in which they were trapped. But he wanted them to be aware, to understand why they were condemned to die by his hand.
The stern features of his face relaxed as he approached Naruto. He took off the sandals, the traveling cloak, and slipped in beside the blond boy to keep watch over him. Sasuke suspected he wouldn't sleep, or almost not sleep. It had become a habit for him, two, three hours of sleep maximum per night. Naruto rolled over in his sleep, and one of his arms rested on his stomach as he laid his head on Sasuke's chest. He smiled tenderly, and with his free hand, he ran his fingers through Naruto's tangled hair. And Sasuke freed his mind and concentrated on the movement. Without even realizing it, Sasuke fell into sleep.
When he woke up, it was still dark outside, but he could clearly see Naruto's face. His bluish gaze was on him, and Sasuke realized that it was the intensity of the gaze that had woken him up.
"Hm, dobe. What are you doing?"
"Looking at you...I... I’m trying to memorize all your details before you leave again."
This revelation made so candidly, brought a flush on Sasuke's cheeks, and he thanked the darkness of the room.
He turned on his side to be face to face with Naruto and dared to touch his cheek.
"What would you do if I decided to stay?"
Naruto's gaze widened almost comically; he shifted a little more towards Sasuke.
"If this is a joke, it's not funny."
Sasuke could not resist anymore, Naruto's lips were calling him, and for once in his life, he let himself go.
When their lips met, both ninjas moaned, and their hands moved to discover each other's body. Caressing the skin of the other feverishly, moaning. Quickly, they undressed, while continuing to kiss, rubbing against each other. Naruto managed to roll Sasuke on his back, and sat on top of him. His blue eyes were almost completely lost as the pupils were so large.
"Sas...Sas..."
As Naruto plunged back to Sasuke's lips, Sasuke, on his side, caressed Naruto's muscular back, and grabbed the buttocks firmly. The blond boy moaned shamelessly, rubbing his cock against Sasuke's firm stomach.
"Ah, Na - Naruto!"
Sasuke slid a hand between them to grasp their cocks together, attempting a - clumsy - wrist movement. The two ninjas groaned louder, their kisses losing coordination, tongues, teeth, lips all tangled. Sasuke gained confidence and applied more pressure on their cocks, Naruto stood up a little, revealing his neck.
Sasuke let go of their dick, sitting down while Naruto sat on top of him, and plunged towards Naruto's throat. He licked, kissed and nibbled the tender skin, and the blonde moaned louder. He had encircled Sasuke's shoulders and waist with his strong legs. The Uchiha reversed their position, letting Naruto fall back on his back, and plunged his gaze into hers.
"I want you."
Naruto stopped breathing for a moment, his gaze searching Sasuke's. After a few seconds, he grabbed Sasuke by the neck and kissed him again before whispering in his ear.
"Teme, I have been waiting for this for years."
The statement hit Sasuke right in the heart, and he kissed Naruto softly in response.
"Sorry for making you wait."
Naruto returned the kiss just as slowly and pointed to the desk at the side of the bed.
"There's lube."
A hint of jealousy flashed through Sasuke's mind, but he shook his head. Naruto was his, and nothing would change that. He reached for the bottle, still sealed, and opened it.
Naruto watched him calmly. He had opened his legs a little more, leaving plenty of room for Sasuke to sit comfortably. He stood still for a moment, his sharingan appeared to etch this beautiful image forever in his mind.
The daylight that was beginning to filter through a crack in the curtain, swept Naruto with a golden light that highlighted his muscular body. His eyes looked at him with so much emotion that Sasuke could hardly maintain contact. His cock was standing proudly, patiently waiting for him to take care of it. The blond boy's hair was spread around his head like a carpet of gold leaf. In a word, he was handsome.
Nervously, he put plenty of lubricant on his fingers, and approached the den of his lover. He pressed the ring of flesh, his eyes sought Naruto's blue one, and he thought was falling into an ocean, he felt all the love and affection reflected in his eyes. He could hardly breathe because of the emotion in his throat.
He plunged towards Naruto's tender mouth which welcomed him happily, and Sasuke slid his index finger inside. Naruto moaned into his mouth, his powerful legs hugged him tightly, and his hands grabbed his shoulders.
"Ah...Ah..Sas...Another one!"
Naruto was already trying to impale himself on Sasuke's finger, he added a second without waiting.
"Ah..Yes...Ah...Sas'ke.."
Sasuke continued to move his fingers, preparing Naruto as best he could, and suddenly his hand was pulled away. He looked up, fearing that he had hurt his lover.
"It's...It's you I want."
If Sasuke hadn't been kneeling, he was sure he would have fallen backwards. The sensuality, the desire that emanated from Naruto was almost too much for him. But he obeyed, grabbed the bottle of lube, put - probably too much - liquid on his overheated cock, which made him moan.
He grabbed Naruto's luscious lips again, so soft under his own, and lined his cock up with his lover's den, and pushed gently. Naruto's body accepted it so easily, as if he had been waiting for it for a lifetime and another. They moaned in unison. Naruto's body was struck by a powerful shiver, which also echoed on Sasuke. Once fully buried in Naruto, he closed his eyes to enjoy the sensation and give his lover time to adjust. But almost immediately, Naruto undulated his hips.
"Come on, move teme."
Sasuke did not hesitate. He pulled his cock out so that the gland remained inside, and slowly plunged back in. His gaze was again riveted on Naruto's, and all was said without any words being exchanged.
"Ah Ah Sas..."
Naruto undulated his pelvis more strongly, raising it to meet Sasuke's bumping strokes. The room was filled with the sounds of their exchange, skin against skin, lip against lip, and moan for moan.
Sasuke felt the climax rise, climbing into his stomach, he reached up a little to grab Naruto's cock.
"Yeah! Yeah...Go for it...AH! Sas'ke, I...I'll..."
And Naruto ejaculated between their two bodies, his body clenched against hers, his legs gripping her so tightly that Sasuke thought he was about to break him in two. His orgasm took him by surprise, and he opened his mouth in a silent scream as he emptied his seed into the depths of his lover.
Then, very slowly, he let himself fall back on his side. Naruto was on him the next second, and grabbed him with what little strength he had left.
"Don't ever leave me alone again."
Sasuke kissed him tenderly, and entwined his hand with Naruto's.
"Never again."
Soon after, silence had returned to Naruto's small apartment. Only the quiet breath of two souls could be heard. If anyone had witnessed the scene, they would have been surprised. For, the two men had fallen asleep, their limbs intertwined, and a blanket of red chakra protected them.
And their lives would be exactly like that until their very last breaths.
