Chapter Text
"I don't remember everything that happened that day but I do recall what happened before that day," The small candlelight shines in her face bouncing off her skin and showing her slightly pale skin. Her teammates sit around her in that dark room.
Sakura is beside the wall back against the hard wood her hair still wet from the mission. She stares at the person she once called her friend and rival. Sometimes she really wondered where they went wrong. Had she always felt like this? Had things always been this tense? Had Kaya always kept this to herself. None of those were voiced instead she sat in a silence equal to her teammate's. Across her the painter sits staring at the floors the candle only showing half of his face.
Sai glances at his friends around him than back at the ground. He had never been talkative around anyone but them and especially with Kaya. They had known each other for years yet with the past few weeks he felt as though everything he had known and anticipated had been nothing but ruse making him feel like a chess piece like he once feared.
The usual stoic and smart one, the Uchiha prodigy sits in the far back behind the blonde. Sasuke has a wave of uncharacterized emotions and unknown feelings swarming his chest. He cannot believe this. He cannot believe him as the one supposedly closest to her had been so blind. Despite the hints and warnings he always thought he had the best grip on her. And yet he had never even had a hold of what she was. But they were all small details, insignificant when it came to Naruto.
His bond with Kaya had always been the best the raw one and most incredulously cryptic. They shared things no one could understand sometimes even people believed they were related because of how intense they were. And of course Naruto sat with a calm and confident demeanor. He had full trust in this woman and did not need to be told anything more then what he knew. Kaya had always been good at hiding while Naruto was great at seeking. Speaking to one another was common having grown with similar difficulties all their lives they could be seen as what some called twins. And here they all sat awaiting her explanation while outside a whole storm was happening. Kaya on the other had sat calm as ever. Not concerned on wether or not she could come out of this alive. It didn't matter.
"This is going to be a long story," she spoke again. She raised her eyes and looked at everyone.
"Are you ready?" She asked. They shared collective looks than nodded at the same time. She hummed closing her eyes. Her hands hadn't moved a second yet the scenery started to change. Confusion showed on their faces until they looked back at her. Her eyes were in mangeyokus. A very unique one design in the shape of a flower.
"Where are we?" Sakura asked. The scenery was unfamiliar. They were in a forest but none of them recognised it. Kaya stands up walking forward.
"This is where it all began"
