Chapter Text
Author's note: This is my first fanfiction on here and I'm writing this from my phone's note app so apologies in advance for any and all grammar errors that may appear. I am a big fan of Helluva Boss and Beastars and I immediately fell in love with both series' respective furry protagonists and have wanted a fanfic of them both together ever since. This story is an interesting one as I'm setting it in a universe where Heaven, Hell and the living world are accessible by all. (except sinners which are kept in hell but this ain't about them.) I have not read all of the Beastars Manga, so it'll only be loosely based on that. however, it takes place after the Beastars story so Legoshi will be 19 and fully grown. Loona is the same age as she is in HB, 22. I hope you all enjoy this cute little thing I came up with and, of course, nothing featured in this work belongs to Me. Helluva Boss and Beastars, as well as Loona and Legoshi belong to Vivienne Medrano and Paru Itagaki. Enjoy. :)

'How did I get so lucky?' Legoshi thought to himself as he lay in bed, looking at his hellhound girlfriend sleeping to his left.
'If it weren't for you, I don't know where I'd be..' He continued to think, as the unpleasant memories of he and Haru breaking up briefly clouded his peaceful state of mind. Haru, a name he never wanted to hear again. She was his happiness before Loona met him, his very purpose at one point, and despite her stubbornness and attitude, he loved her and truly thought that they would last until the end. That's what made finding her with, of all people, Bill from his old drama club, that much more crushing. He left at that moment without saying a word and thus, his life took another very rough turn. Until one day, what started off as a uneventful, depressing Wednesday would eventually mark itself as the day he met the beautiful hellhound laying beside him, sleeping peacefully.
He then finished his quiet speech to her, knowing it was obvious she couldn't hear, in his usual deep, calm monotone voice before gently caressing her head affectionately while making sure to not disturb her slumber.
"I wish there was a way that I could fully express what you mean to me. I hope one day, that I'll be able to show you that our love is stronger than any.
I love you Loona.. I owe you my life"
Flashback: 6 months earlier..
Loona was spending a day out in public. She was sitting in a park bench with one leg crossed over the other, waiting for some guy she asked out, sending the odd text or scrolling through one of the many generic apps on her cellphone looking for anything entertaining to kill time.
As usual, not much popped up that met her fancy. She looked at the time, 2:00 pm, and was quite surprised.
That surprise turned to anger and a little bit of hurt however when she had a realization hit her... He stood her up!
"Ughhhh! asshole! he made me wait an hour and a half!" she couldn't help but shout out as she slammed her fist onto the armrest of the bench, her ears drooped as she did.
After a few minutes of sulking and trying to mentally calm herself down, her eyes, and ears, began scanning the surrounding area of the park out of boredom, and as much as she couldn't believe it, she actually found it quite pretty. It had large amounts of flowers in the lush little gardens by the many decent sized walking paths, and beautiful Sakura trees. Not long after taking in the beautiful scenery however, did she notice something, or rather someone..
They were clearly canine, looked decently tall and appeared to be a male, he was just sitting in another bench, about a half dozen meters away, like she was but there was definitely something off about the way he was sitting there. He looked to be in rough spirits, and that was putting it lightly, he looked like he was dying of sadness, and just looking at him, not even knowing the first thing about him, was downright depressing and gave Loona a feeling of sorrow and sympathy she hadn't felt in a while.
It felt somewhat unnatural to her and a little eerie how intense that sad energy radiating off him was. There was something that told her to get over there and check on him, probably partly due to the fact the look in his eye gave the impression he wasn't far away from suicidal thoughts.
'Fuck it, I'll just walk up, introduce myself and see if he's good. That can't be too weird right?' she thought to herself as she looked at him again for a second. 'Damn, he's pretty cute too.. no, stop! get a fucking grip Loona! now isn't the time' she thought as she analyzed him closer as she made her way to the bench he was on.
He was in a casual, but messy outfit that consisted of a pair of slip-on skate shoes, ash gray jeans and a navy blue hoodie. His fur was messy and his ears were low, his eyes full of fatigue, sadness and pain. "Uhh.. hey big guy, I couldn't help but notice that you seem sad and I kinda just wanted to come over and chat with you, I-is that alright?"
There was only silence, and he looked zoned out, her sentence seemed to only resonate a little twitch of his left ear, the direction Loona was in.
"Uhhhh.. hello? dude, are you okay?" Loona then lightly poked at his shoulder, making him finally snap out of his daze with a small jump, and a quick turn to his left.
"Oh! uhmm, y-yeah, I guess... Sorry I was just in another little world there, heh.."
His sentence was ended by a small, forced chuckle that Loona knew all too well, from herself. That was the little laugh that she'd do whenever she was asked about something sensitive and she wanted them to not worry about it. She made her way beside him, before taking a seat a respectful distance to his right. He almost constantly watched her movements as she did this, Loona just assumed he was nervous, afterwards she slowly wagged her tail and gave a little smile while extending her hand for him to shake it.
"I'm sorry if I spooked you there, I'm Loona"
"My name is Legoshi" He slowly and gently grabbed her hand and shook it.
She couldn't help but notice how big his hands were compared to hers, and she had to try and stop what she called, another 'Vortex moment' to take place. Thankfully her fur hid the unstoppable small blush on her face.
'Wow, okay, cool name, good looks, keep it together! Don't be a hoe!"
"Nice name, I gotta be real when I say that I was concerned seeing you all zoned out and in such rough shape, still kinda am. Do You need any help?"
She paused with a contemplative sigh, thinking what to say. She had a weird feeling that he needed help, an especially weird one considering it was only a minute ago that she met him, and the fact that she usually but regretfully almost never worries about people. She was about to try to offer support once again, without accidentally pushing a figurative mental button in him, but then he once again spoke. "... I'm sorry, I'm honestly just trying to cope with a very difficult time in life.." He looked at her before looking down in thought. "But You know, after being alone for such a while, I must say that having somebody, especially a fellow canine look out for me, it feels good. I appreciate your concern"
Loona just quietly sat and listened as he proceeded to give her a basic and quick rundown of what happened and what he was going through. He would normally never do this, but there was something about this woman that he couldn't help but find trustworthy and understanding, a fiery and resilient look in her crimson eyes that told him that she had gone through very hard times as well, but also held on to hope and knew how to help someone find it as well. He felt that look comforting in a way. It made him feel cared about, and safe.
'Wow.. I haven't been out and talking to many people, especially not strangers since the breakup. She has something about her that I cannot point out, and I think I needed to make a friend during these times that is willing to listen and wants to check in on me.. not to mention, she is a very pretty... wolf? I'm not sure, but she seems to be a lot like me, at least I can guess by the way she acts, cautious. quiet. Maybe I should talk to her more..' He got a chance to get a good look at her this time, she was wearing regular black jeans, a pair of black shoes to match that he couldn't recognize, a cropped band shirt and a leather jacket. She wasn't wearing her usual choker and had her hair in it's usual style, but it was a little bit more wavy than usual. He had to admit that even though they met just now, she looked good.
"Man, I can see why you're so upset.. it sounded like you really loved her and some of you still does.." Loona gave him a comforting pat on the shoulder as she continued. "but you know, sometimes there's scummy people who play with you and make you feel like you're worth nothing. Make you feel used, but I can tell you right now, nobody's worth wasting away for. Especially some bitch that uses sweet guys like you.." She then lifted his chin up and gently turned his head to look her in the eyes before letting go, catching him off guard but he went with it. "So try to keep your head up, because there's someone out there that deserves you more than she ever will.." Loona finished her little pep talk with a small, reassuring smile. Legoshi could only respond with a small smile of his own as the sadness in his eyes seemed to fade at least temporarily.
"Thank you.. I-i really needed that"
"Hey, just consider it a random act of kindness"
After just sitting down in silence for a little while, drinking in the sights, Loona decided to break it again.
"You know, I never thought that checking in on a stranger was gonna lead me to making a friend" she said looking at him as she playfully nudged his arm
'A friend? It's been a while since someone called me that.. and it would be great to have one instead of going through this alone. Of course there's always Jack or Louis, but they can't always be present. and I hate to bother them all the time..'
"You... really mean that?" Legoshi responded happily as he couldn't help but wag his tail. He made a new friend! He's missed the feeling of happiness and this person, she made him feel happy and even if it was just a little, he was glad to know that he wasn't alone in this sometimes cruel and evil world. It felt relieving.
"Yep, and I don't say stuff like that unless I mean it. I'm not perfect but one thing that I don't do is play around with emotions, whether it's mine or someone else's. I- "
Before she could finish her sentence, Legoshi pulled her in for a gentle and short hug before he spoke
".. thank you. for everything"
Loona was initially caught off guard by this, but was almost just as quickly touched by this gesture. She could tell he needed everything that she decided to do that day.
'Woah! Okay.. this is a surprise to be sure but not exactly an unwelcome one.. he really just is a big softie'
As they broke apart, they did so knowing that that day, they made a good friendship. Loona decided to break the silence once more, this time with something out of the realm of curiosity.
"I know I probably should have asked this before but.. how old are you anyway? You look a bit older than me"
"Oh! I'm nineteen"
"...what? wow you look older haha, and that is a compliment, and before I make you feel bad with that 'don't ask a girl her age' shit, I don't care about that. I'm twenty two"
"Wow, I thought you were eighteen, or my age. A-and there's nothing wrong with that! Of course-"
"I know what you mean" She chuckled.
The two would spend another couple hours just chatting about their interests.
Eventually Legoshi revealed his love for insects and Loona talked about her fascination with spiders.
After it was starting to get dark, it was time for the two to get back home
Loona would take her leave first, but not before giving Legoshi her number and he did the same.
"That was really nice, see ya later" Loona said as she playfully stuck the tip of her tongue out as she made a peace sign. Legoshi simply waved goodbye with a small smile.
Loona smiled back and walked away.
Little did they know what this little interaction would mean in the long run..

A/n:
Thank you to whoever may have read this. I've decided I'll eventually make it a multi chapter little series, if the reviews say that it isn't completely terrible lol.
I created this a little while back this year and was a little hesitant to make this pairing but after seeing the new Helluva Boss episode 'Seeing Stars' I couldn't resist finishing this.
That being said, my writing is a little rusty so please bare with me if it's lacking in certain areas. But yeah, thank you all for reading!
