Chapter Text
The air around Greta and Carson had been tense all night. Carson just couldn’t get over the fact that Greta chose that dress. They knew she had chosen it to mess with them and the worst part was, it was working. Every time Carson glanced in Greta’s direction, they tried so hard to look into Greta’s eyes, but their eyes immediately went to her chest. They didn’t know breasts could look so amazing in a dress. The way the color complimented her skin tone. Carson shook their head, knowing they were staring and quickly looked away, wiping their mouth to make sure they weren't drooling.
Greta was frustrated. She was trying to play happy fiancé and be a good guest, but Carson wouldn’t look at her. Every time she tried to make eye contact with them, Carson would avoid her. She couldn’t figure out what she had done wrong.
Greta finally managed to get their attention. She pointed to an opposite room and Carson nodded, excusing themselves from whatever conversation they were having with someone. Greta just needed to clear the air and be done with it.
“Carson, what’s going on?”
“What do you mean?”
“Is there something going on with you and Charlie?”
Carson looked around, confused. “What are you talking about?”
“Well you’ve been awkward all night and I’m assuming this is putting a strain on your relationship with him.”
“Wait, Greta, you think Charlie and I are together? Like a couple?” Carson was trying so hard not to laugh.
“Yes, Car.”
“Greta, I’m a lesbian! Charlie and I dated in high school and he is also like super gay!”
“Wait, you are?” She asked, relief in her voice.
“Greta, you can’t be serious. I just figured you were uncomfortable with me.”
“What? Why?”
“Because you’re straight!”
Greta’s eyes went wide. “No!”
“What?”
“Carson, I’m a lesbian! How could you not know that?”
“Greta, you literally publish the straightest books I’ve ever had the displeasure of reading.”
“I don’t always have control over that with the board and everything.”
“Still.”
“So we’re both gay?”
“I mean if you couldn’t tell I was, then I’m a little upset.”
“I mean I always assumed, but then with Charlie, I don’t know. You guys are weirdly flirty.”
“I think we have flirty energy because we used to pretend that kissing each other felt good? I don’t know. I’ve known him all my life, but it was a relief when we both figured it out.”
“Wait, wait, if it’s not Charlie, then why are you mad at me? You haven’t looked me in the eye since the party started!”
Carson looked away again and they started to stutter. They weren’t sure how to explain and they thought maybe gesturing would help.
“Carson, what? What is it?” Carson mumbled something and Greta shook her head. “Nope, try again! Use your words.”
“I don’t know, Greta. They’re right there.” Carson gestured to her breasts. “I can’t look at you without… It's the height difference I think?” Greta laughed. “I’m trying to be respectful, Greta!”
“Goodness gracious.” Greta chuckled, her face lighting up. “You act like you’ve never seen tits before.”
“I have, they’re just uh… I mean… they’re…” Carson just gestured, not being able to form words.
“Uh huh. Okay. Wow.”
Carson’s phone buzzed and they felt relief, but immediately started to laugh. “Meg thinks we’re fucking.”
“What?”
Carson showed her the texts and Greta’s laugh gave Carson butterflies. She loved the sound of it. Carson watched her and got an idea. “Let’s mess up your hair to make it look good.” Carson touched her hair. They didn’t have a reason other than wanting to be able to. Caron tried to keep themselves composed at how silky Greta’s hair was.
Greta looked at them. “Bold of you to assume MY hair would be the hair getting fucked up.”
Carson stopped dead in their tracks. “Ooo.” Greta ran her hair through their hair. Carson knew they melted a little bit. Greta smiled, scrunching her face as she passed them, making sure her breasts were a little too close for comfort. Carson closed their eyes, but licked their lips.
Carson followed Greta out, trying to compose themselves.
“I hope you both washed your hands after your,” Meg paused, looking between them, “activities.”
“Oh, I had to wash them twice. They really needed it.” Greta winked and left a stunned Meg and Carson standing there.
“Greta,” Carson mumbled, following her, impressed, but embarrassed.
The party continued on. Greta and Carson had managed to continue to play their parts. Hands touching, Greta’s hand on their back, stolen glances from across the room. The party slowly came to a close. Once Sarge let the last guest out, she sighed against the door.
“Girls, I think I’d like to finish the night with a movie. Thoughts?”
“It’s your birthday,” Carson pointed out.
“Good. How about we get out of these dresses, although you do look amazing.”
“Thanks, Sarge,” Greta winked. “You too.”
“But let’s get comfortable, and watch a movie. I’ll choose.”
Carson was helping Meg with cleaning, not by choice, as Greta made her way to their small, shared room. She sat on the bed, on her phone, in her dress as she waited for Carson. She could hear them coming and tried her hardest to look natural, but puffed her chest out just a little bit. She really liked the idea of messing with Carson.
Carson opened the door, without really thinking about it. When they turned around, they stopped dead in their tracks. Greta stood up, still clad in that blue dress and walked towards them with a knowing smirk. Carson’s eyes fell to her chest and they could feel themselves breathing heavier as Greta got closer to them. Once she was a mere two inches from Carson’s face, she turned around. Carson tried to let out her breath quietly.
Greta felt confident as she watched Carson’s cheeks blush, the stammer in their hands and the way their eyes tried to look everywhere, but Greta’s chest and how they failed to do so.
“Will you unzip my dress?” Greta asked, moving her hair to one shoulder.
“Didn’t seem to have trouble getting it on,” Carson stated, as nervous fingers tentatively made their way to the zipper.
“Easier to get on then off.”
“I don’t think that’s true.”
“Carson. Zipper.”
Carson slowly unzipped the dress. It took all of their might to not touch nor kiss Greta’s back as it was slowly exposed to them. Greta didn’t hesitate as she pulled the dress off. Carson’s eyes widened before they sprinted out the door, closing it behind them.
Greta stood there, annoyed. “Fuck,” she whispered, going to find clothes to change into. She was really hoping that would fix the tension, but she’s pretty sure she only made it worse.
Carson stood on the other side of the door, Greta’s bare back now in their mind. The top of her bottom, the way her bare back looked. Carson squeezed their hands, definitely not thinking about it. Carson took steadying breaths, trying not to think about all the new images in their mind.
Greta switched to dark sweats, covering her whole body. She now felt a little embarrassed, but Carson running out the room did not help their situation. It doesn’t look good in front of the Shaw family either.
Carson waited until Greta was dressed again before changing. They wish they were stronger, but their feelings for Greta were so conflicted, they weren’t sure what to think. What was real and what was part of the arrangement. They were just happy to have the room to themselves for a moment. They knew they had to get it together and not blow it.
They made their way downstairs and sat next to Greta on the couch. They sat close to one another, but Carson still left a little space. Greta tried not to look annoyed and scooted closer to them. She took Carson’s hand with a smile. Carson didn’t hesitate, intertwining their fingers.
Sarge came into the living room with a bowl of popcorn to share.
“None for me, Sarge. I snacked enough at the party,” Greta said with kind eyes.
Carson didn’t realize they were still smiling at Greta. The giddiness Carson felt with Greta’s hands in theirs. Happiness and tingles they knew they shouldn’t feel. Bev cleared her throat. “None for me either. Thanks, Sarge.”
“Suit yourselves.” Sarge sat down in her chair.
“So what are we watching?” Carson asked.
“Cabin in the Woods.”
“That’s a scary movie, Sarge.”
“I’m aware. You’ll be okay.”
Meg came in with her own bowl and plopped down on the couch. “Seriously, Carson, Grace and Matthew have watched scary things and don’t seem to have a problem.”
“Aren’t they a little young to be watching scary movies?”
“You got scared by ‘Hocus Pocus’ and that’s what I’m referring to.”
“You did?” Greta asked, her tone a little too sweet.
“When I was a kid,” Carson answered.
“And last year.”
“Meg!”
“Aw, you little scamp.”
“And this is a lot scarier than that.”
“Yeah, well, please don’t bother talking through the movie to distract yourself from how scared you feel. It’s so annoying.”
“I do not do that!”
“Enough, ladies!” Sarge didn’t want to hear anything else on the subject and started the movie.
Carson started out fine, but as the movie continued, they slowly started to turn towards Greta. Inching in step by step until they had invaded all of the personal space Greta had left.
Greta smiled, enjoying the feeling of Carson's breath against her neck. She wrapped her arms around Carson, holding them as close as possible. She loved the way Carson felt against her, in her arms. It was like this is where they were meant to be. Carson was practically on her lap about halfway through and Greta held her tighter.
“You know, it’s okay,” Greta whispered. “It’s just a movie.”
“Shut up,” Carson answered, resisting the urge to rub their nose against Greta’s neck and kiss it. They did take in Greta’s perfume and melted into her a little more, their head now resting against Greta’s chest.
“Shush,” Meg said, eyes glued to the screen.
Greta looked over and noticed Sarge looking at them. Sarge was smiling and winked towards Greta. Greta just smiled back, feeling herself squeeze Carson a little tighter, taking in the scent of their shampoo. She decided to enjoy Carson in her arms, not knowing the next time they would sit like this or be this close, this comfortable.
Greta felt herself looking around. She hadn’t felt this calm in sometime. There was something about Rockford, something about the Shaw’s that made her feel like this had always been her home. That she had known this family her whole life. She reached for her phone.
Carson felt her phone buzz, grateful for the distraction. It was from Greta, who explained she didn’t want to be yelled at by Meg for talking. She continued to text, informing Carson that this was important. Carson, once again, felt nervous.
”Okay, for real… visiting Rockford for the last two days has been so much fun and getting to know your family and friends has been so special to me. You’re surrounded by people who absolutely adore you, and it’s been so incredible to feel like I’m part of it. So I was wondering…
???
I know we haven’t talked too much about wedding plans yet, but obviously we need to do it soon. What if we stayed here another week and got married next weekend?”
Carson instantly felt relief. They had been feeling the same way, but didn’t know how to express it. Greta got along with everyone with such ease and everyone seemed to like her. To them, it felt stupid to wait any longer.
”Let’s do it. Yes, yes, a thousand times yes!!!
Oh my G-d. Holy shit, Car! We’re getting married in a week???
We’re getting married in a week!!!
Do you think Meg will yell at me if I break the no talking rule to tell them???
Screw Meg, I’m waking up the neighbors with this news!!”
“Sarge, I’m sorry to interrupt the movie,” Greta said, “But Carson and I have some good and interesting news.” Greta looked to Carson.
“We’ve decided and we’re getting married next weekend!” Carson announced.
Sarge gasped with delight, but didn’t have time to speak as Meg jumped up from the couch and paused the movie. “What?!”
“Well we’re already here,” Greta explained, “and we just think why not? We want to get married here so why wait?”
“Oh my gosh! This is absolutely insane. We need to work on everything! Flowers, rings, venue, catering! I guess I could make the food. That would help us save money.” Meg continued to ramble to herself.
Sarge on the other hand hugged them both. “Congratulations you two!! This makes me one happy Grandma!”
“Thanks, Sarge,” they both whispered in unison.
“Carson!” Meg shouted.
“What?”
“Come on. We have a lot of work to do!”
“Meg, it’s almost midnight. Can’t it wait until the morning?”
“Absolutely not! Do you know how much work goes into a wedding?!”
“I have a feeling I’m about to learn.”
Sarge kept her arm around Greta and they smiled at the sisters in front of them. Greta couldn’t help but think how cute Carson looked with their hands squeezing into a tight little fist.
“I still have my binder from the wedding with Donnie, let me go get it!!!”
“Meg, please! Everything you did for your wedding? We want the exact opposite of that!”
“Well… we could still use it as a starting point? To get ideas and make a to do list?”
Carson sighed. “Fine!”
“My girls are getting married,” Sarge exclaimed, dancing around the living room. Greta couldn’t help but take in everything around her and laugh. She really did feel at home.
The night turned into a frenzy for the Shaw family. It was now closer to two in the morning and Greta was ready for bed. She texted Carson to see how much longer this would be, but it ended up with both of them becoming distracted. Greta was sitting on the couch, smiling at her phone.
A text came through and it was a photo of her from Meg. Even she was surprised by the smile on her face. She knew it was authentic and she hadn’t seen herself smile like that in ages. It was quickly ruined however by a text.
”Since this is APPARENTLY the best way to get your attention… can you please stop flirting with your fiancé via text and actually pay attention to me while I’m trying to help you??”
Greta huffed and got off the couch. She walked up behind Carson and wrapped her arms around their waist. She rest her head on Carson’s shoulder.
“You ready for bed, babe?”
“Yes.”
“Meg, how about we put the plans on hold-“
“Greta, you want this in a week? It calls for all nighters.”
“Yeah, but Car and I would like to have a little all nighter ourselves to celebrate.” She kissed Carson’s cheek and pinched their side.
“Hey,” Carson laughed at the tickle. “Greta’s right, Meg. We made the decision tonight and I think we deserve time to ourselves to celebrate.” Carson nuzzled her neck, placing a small kiss there. They ignored how right it felt and how soft Greta’s skin was against their lips.
Meg looked mortified as they turned to hug one another. They were both wondering how far they would have to go to get Meg off their backs.
“Okay!” Meg yelled. “You guys are gross. You shouldn’t do that in front of your family!”
Carson pulled Greta away, both smirking. “Good night, Meg,” Greta hummed.
Once they were out of Meg’s sight, Carson begrudgingly let go of Greta’s hand, thinking that’s what Greta would want. They knew it was for the bit, but wished they were actually going in their room to have sex.
Greta had hoped things would feel more normal. That holding Carson’s hand wouldn’t be a big deal. She just wanted Carson to act like they had before. The tension was still there as they got back into the bedroom. It was driving her crazy and all she could think about was kissing Carson. The feel of their lips ghosting on her neck.
Greta watched as Carson got ready for bed and decided tonight she would purposely move towards the middle of the bed. She just wanted this to feel normal, for the way they looked to the others of course and not because her heart skipped a beat every time Carson touched her. She waited until Carson was near her and then moved closer to the middle of the mattress. She faced them and waited. Greta secretly enjoyed the warmth from Carson’s body and wanted nothing more than to snuggle up to them once again.
Carson’s heart was beating a mile a minute at their close proximity to one another. They wanted to reach out and tuck Greta’s hair behind her ear. They wanted to kiss her and more. Carson would do anything to be able to touch Greta right now, but they knew that’s not what Greta wanted. That this isn’t what she was looking for. When Greta looked at them, Carson smiled, pleased to be mear inches from Greta when they remembered. This is an arrangement, not a relationship.
Carson rolled over, turning their back to Greta. They were as close to the edge as possible to give Greta all the space she needed. Greta just paused, rolling her eyes. Why didn’t Carson want to be close? She had no problem practically sitting on her during the movie, going through wedding plans with Meg, dancing around with Sarge, hugging her and kissing her neck for the performance, but in private? Nothing! Why?
Carson was so good at performing that they were in love that Greta had a hard time remembering it was an act. It wasn’t real, but she hoped it was. She wanted it to be, but Greta felt she didn’t deserve it. She had no right to want that from them. She sighed.
“Goodnight, Greta,” Carson whispered.
Greta stared at them, wanting to touch their hair, draw shapes with her fingers, scratch their back but knew she couldn’t. “Goodnight, Carson.” Greta didn’t turn around, she laid on her back, still facing Carson as she fell asleep.
Greta stirred first the next morning. She could feel the weight against her body and then the warmth. She smiled. Carson’s head was against her chest, and Greta realized Carson was holding her tightly. She let her mind wander. She let herself believe that this is what it could be like to have a wife so she stayed, not moving, hoping she could stay like this a little longer in the early morning light.
Carson stirred to the feeling of Greta's hand in their hair. They knew where they were and enjoyed the fact that Greta’s breasts were right there. They tried so hard not to move, enjoying the moment. Greta moved and Carson pretended to be asleep. Greta was so warm that Carson felt themselves drift off again.
As the day went on, Greta couldn’t get past Carson still being awkward around her. She was happy to know that Carson liked her chest and knew Carson was attracted to her. She had debated what was earlier a passing thought, turning into a permanent one for a while, but now she was sure. She needed things to be normal with Carson, she needed Carson to look at her, she needed them.
“Hey, Car?” Greta asked, pulling her away from looking at something Sarge was showing her.
“Yeah, baby?” Greta’s heart fluttered. Why did she like how that sounded?
“Can I talk to you for a second? It’s important.”
“Sure.”
“Did you upset her?” Sarge asked, lightly hitting their arm.
“No!” Carson defended.
“They didn’t. Just something we need to discuss.” Greta wasn’t smiling.
Carson was nervous as Greta sat them on the couch. They thought about everything they could have to talk about. Carson was worried that Greta had changed her mind. I should want that, Carson thought, but the idea of her not being there when I wake up would kill me.
“So I’ve been thinking,” Greta stated, breaking Carson from her thoughts. Their throat felt dry all of a sudden.
“Yeah.” Carson grabbed their cup of water left from the breakfast that morning.
“I’ve been thinking about it a lot and I think we should fuck.” Carson choked on her water. This is not what they were expecting. They looked towards Greta with wide eyes. Greta rolled hers. “Sorry, should I have phrased it differently? Should I have said ‘make love’?” She asked, using finger quotes.
“Greta.” Carson was stunned and didn’t know what to say. Their mouth just kind of gaped while they tried to figure out what to say. “Where is this coming from? I mean this is so out of left field.”
“Is it? You have been so awkward around me all day and you were last night and I don’t know. Ever since you saw me in that dress, you haven’t been able to look at me and I think we should just do it. I mean, you’re making it so obvious that you haven’t seen me naked and if you keep it up, you’re going to give us away.”
“I, I just… I don’t… I mean-”
“I think we should fuck for the good of our business arrangement.”
Carson just nodded, but didn’t know how to respond. They wanted to, oh how they wanted to, but was it right? Was this the right decision? Carson shook a little, lost in thought, trying to amp themselves up to do this.
The longer Carson took to respond, the more nervous Greta became. The butterflies in her stomach were fluttering and she thought she pushed her luck. She thought she took it one step too far, but couldn’t bring herself to back out now. Half because she thought this would help, but also because she found herself wanting to.
“Carson?”
Carson’s brain went back to the dress. How voluptuous her body looked. How good the color looked against her skin. Fuck it, they thought. They looked at Greta and grabbed her hand. Carson stood up and pulled Greta to follow them. Greta filled with excitement as they made their way down the hall.
Carson opened the door, Greta only a few steps back, shutting the door behind them. Carson pushed Greta into the door. Greta gasped as the wind was knocked out of her, but she had never felt more alive. Carson crashed her lips against Greta’s, kissing her hard. Greta moaned as her hands circled everywhere imaginable against Carson’s body. Their hips, their waist, shoulders, hair… She wanted and needed to touch every inch of them.
Carson felt electrified by Greta’s touch. They didn’t care where her hands went as long as Greta kept touching them. When Greta pulled their hair, they moaned uncontrollably into Greta’s mouth. Carson was on their toes, trying to be as close to Greta’s mouth as possible, wanting to climb her like a tree.
Greta pulled away by lifting her head up. She looked at Carson for a moment, causing Carson to fill with worry. Had they gone too far even though this is clearly what Greta had asked for? Carson didn’t have too long to think about it when they felt a push to their shoulders, their back meeting the bed. She had seen that determination in Greta’s eyes before, but it was always a deadline or an important meeting she had to win, but seeing this look now, turned Carson on more than they wanted to admit.
“Greta,” Carson gasped, their legs spread as Greta sauntered up to them. Carson’s jaw was slack, mouth opened, heavy breathing. Like they had lost all the control.
“You had a smug look on your face, like you were in charge.”
“Am I not?” Carson asked.
Greta smirked. “Have you ever been in charge of me?” Carson stared at her as Greta climbed on top of them. “I asked you a question, Shaw.” Greta leaned down and lingered over Carson’s neck.
“No, I haven’t.”
“And why is that?”
Carson felt lightheaded. They’d say anything to get Greta moving. “Because you’re my boss?”
“And what is my job as your boss?”
“To be in charge.”
“So to recap-“
“Jesus, Greta!”
Greta groaned against her before kissing their neck. Carson sighed. Greta licked up to their ear and hummed. “Do you want me to stop?”
Carson shook their head. “No. I want this. I want you. I want all of you,” Carson answered quickly.
“Do you?” Greta bit their earlobe and pulled it. Carson moaned, grabbing Greta’s back. They scratched Greta's back, a pleased sigh escaping Greta’s mouth.
Carson then used their might and flipped the two of them. Greta was surprised to be on her back. She didn’t know Carson was that strong and was rather impressed. She liked it a little too much, she thought. Her breath was ragged as Carson looked down at her. The confident smirk returned.
“Maybe for once in your life, you shouldn’t be in charge. I think it’s time… for someone… to have control over you.”
“Fuck, Shaw.”
Carson leaned forward and kissed her with an open mouth. Greta’s tongue was eager, searching for Carson’s. They were both panting around every kiss, when Carson started to unbutton Greta’s shirt. Carson needed Greta’s breasts. They needed to touch them, kiss them, see them. After all of Greta’s flaunting the night before, Carson needed to claim them as theirs.
Greta arched her back a little with anticipation, enjoying Carson’s weight against her hips. She watched Carson’s hands. The shirt was silk and felt amazing against Carson’s skin, but their hands were shaking, nervous and excited. Carson did their best trying to get the buttons undone, but the struggle was real. They got more than half of them unbuttoned before giving up. They got what they came here for.
Carson froze as Greta’s simple white lace bra was revealed. Greta couldn’t describe it, but her need was outweighing her want as Carson just sat there, staring at her bra covered breasts.
“Carson.”
“Yeah,” their head popped up, making eye contact with Greta. They looked like a teenager who got caught looking at something they shouldn’t be.
“I know you want to touch me.” Greta took Carson’s hands and placed them on her chest, squeezing Carson’s hands with her own to squeeze her breasts together. Carson gasped. They loved the way Greta felt in their hands and soon realized her breasts felt better than they could have ever imagined.
“How do they feel?” Greta asked, moving her hands to Carson’s waist.
“Amazing,” Carson said before going back to Greta’s mouth. Carson didn’t want to talk. Her breasts were just the first stop and they couldn’t get enough of them. Carson only pulled back for a moment, with a command. “Arch your back.”
Greta hummed. “Yes, sir.”
Carson reached around Greta, their tongue still in Greta’s mouth and unsnapped her bra. Carson kissed her chin and then moved to her neck as they pushed Greta’s bra down her arms. Carson continued down Greta’s body and before they even got a full glimpse of what they had wanted to see the most, Carson looked up to Greta, with slight hesitation. “Is this okay, Greta?”
Greta paused. With the amount of women she had been with just to sleep with someone, she hadn’t really had someone check in to make sure she was okay with it. Those women knew why they were there so why bother asking for consent? But here was Carson Shaw, checking in and making sure she didn’t do anything Greta didn’t want.
“Please, Carson. I want you to touch me,” Greta answered, her voice cracking.
Carson just smiled at her and it was too much for Greta. She wanted Carson to fuck her, wanted to feel Carson’s touch, their fingers inside of her. The sincerity was too distracting for her at the moment. She grabbed Carson’s head and brought it down to her breasts. She nodded at them, giving them the okay. Carson immediately sucked a perfect nipple into her mouth.
Greta gasped. “Fuck.” Her hips were rutting against the air, searching for any kind of friction. Carson moaned as their tongue flicked over her nipple and then sucked it again. Carson’s other hand grasped her breast before running down her side. They found the end of Greta’s skirt, wanting to rip it off of her. They ran their hand up Greta’s outer thigh, pushing the loose fabric up so Carson could see more of her.
Greta felt Carson’s knee against her center and she audibly gasped, grabbing Carson’s bottom to keep them there. She felt like she was losing her mind. Carson used her teeth, scraping her nipple lightly as she pulled away. Greta rutted against her leg, ready for whatever Carson wanted to do to her, but something still didn’t feel right. Something was missing.
Greta grabbed Carson’s hair and tugged it, pulling Carson’s face up to look at her. Greta’s eyes were glossed over, giving her a pouting look, which made Carson’s heart skip a beat. Carson’s cheeks were flushed, lips swollen.
“Carson, you’re wearing way too many clothes. I need this off now,” Greta stated, grabbing the bottom of Carson’s shirt. Carson sat up and took the shirt off over their head, revealing a simple black binder.
Greta licked her lips, staring at the black fabric. The way it formed to Carson’s chest. She felt herself become wetter at the sight of it as she ran her hands over it. “You’re so sexy, Shaw.”
Carson looked at her, throwing their shirt to the floor. Their knee was still firm against Greta’s center, but the energy in the room shifted. Time slowed down. The need to rush dissipated as they looked at one another. Carson cupped her face in their hands, eyes soft. Carson’s thumb stroked Greta’s cheek as they said, “Greta Gill, you are the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen.”
Greta melted, her head leaning into Carson’s touch. She couldn’t remember the last time she had this intimate connection with someone, where someone truly worshiped her, wanted her like this with no expectations.
Carson looked at her, their eyes sincere, worried they had said something wrong. Greta felt comfortable and relaxed as her hand ran over Carson’s shoulder. “Sometimes I wish this-”
A knock on the door caused them both to jump. “Y'all have been at it like bunnies all weekend! Wrap it up and help me carry in the groceries.” Meg’s voice rang through the door.
They jumped apart as if they were school girls getting caught. Greta covered her chest and Carson just sat there, infuriated. They finally had the girl of their dreams against the mattress, legs open, ready for them and Meg had to ruin it. Pulling them back into reality.
They sat there for a minute before another knock on their door. “Let’s go!” Meg shouted.
“Fuck,” Carson said, grabbing their shirt. They watched Greta put her bra back on and muffled a groan. They didn’t want to see Greta get dressed, but Greta just smiled at them. “Try again later?”
Carson sighed. “Yeah. I’m sorry.”
“Don’t be. We have time.”
“Yeah.” Carson paused. “I’m going to go help Meg.”
“Good. I’m going to organize myself. I’ve got a meeting in a little bit.”
“Okay.” Carson opened the door and stepped through, but before they closed it, they popped their head back in. “I am sorry, Greta.”
“It’s okay, Carson.”
Carson nodded and shut the door. Greta sat there for a moment, trying to relax. “G-d damn it,” she whispered, snapping her bra back and buttoning up her shirt. She cleaned herself up and reset her hair before grabbing her laptop and making her way to a busy kitchen.
