Edward put his forehead against the Bat's and closed his eyes.
"Go ahead," he whispered to the human-and-alien duo. "Find him. Make him pay."
"I promise Black Mask won't see another sunrise."
Eddie nodded then took a step back. His loves unfolded their wings and flew from the terrace roof into the night.
He returned inside, headed to Stephie's bedroom, placed a kiss on top of the fourteen-year-old's blonde head.
The symbiote performed a transfer when the three of them found her, it travelled from Bruce's body to Stephanie's to fix her injuries; they escaped Roman Sionis' lair where he kept Robin, Batman's sidekick, captive.
It's been two years since Steph follows the Bat-team, wearing her own vigilante uniform. It's the first time an enemy kidnaps the teenager and uses her against the 'Batbeast'.
Ed relaxed, watching his daughter who now slept peacefully. She was home, safe and sound.
Soon enough, Black Mask won't ever hurt her, or anyone, again.
"You are not 'Vengeance'," Stephanie corrected softly. "Even when you kill those who attack your family. You are, and will always remain, Gotham's symbol of hope."
Bruce hugged her, the Bat's smooth snake-like head attached to his left shoulder purred and Edward smiled, proud of his husbands and child.
He loves with every fiber of his being the life they forged together.
