Work Text:
It's late when you hear the quiet creak of your bedroom window. The old frame disgruntled at being pried open by two large hands, moonlight bouncing off silver rings.
"Eddie?" Your voice is rough with sleep, calling out into the darkness of your room.
"Shit, I didn't mean to wake you angel. Go back to sleep, I'll be there in a flash." You don't need to see him to hear the smile in his voice.
Eyes closed, you can picture him tiptoeing through your room. The sounds you hear are enough to have you going through the motions with him.
The grating slide of your window closing.
Metal clinking together as he undoes his belt, stripping down to the loose cotton boxers he always sleeps in.
Quiet glugs as he steals some of the water you keep on your bedside table for the inevitable morning dry mouth.
Finally, the bed dips behind you.
Warm hands find your cushioned waist, gently pulling you back to meet his chest. He wraps his body around you. Engulfing you in a blanket of comfort and safety.
"Get some sleep, sweet girl. I'm not going anywhere." Eddie whispers in your ear, pressing a delicate kiss to the top of your jaw as he squeezes you tighter, emphasising his last words.
