Chapter Text
A Private.
That’s all you were.
Atleast for now.
This wasn’t supposed to happen, it’s too early.
Simple mission, clear the area of hostiles, show no mercy.
Why? Why did you have to bite of more than you could chew? Again? Like you always did?
“Unit 7-1, do you copy?” “Copy sir, area clear” ”Unit 7-2, do you copy?” “Copy sir, area clear”
The extra mission wasn’t for you, but you didn’t have anywhere else to go, back up had to arrive right?
“Unit 7-1, move forward, Unit 7-2, standby, we’re getting intel of an area with precious cargo, you are to clear and secure the area if possible”
Precious cargo, a damn USB stick?
“Sir, they got back up! We’re surrounded! We need to pull back” “Copy that 7-2, get out of there”
Is this really what you were going to risk your life for? Some precious intel for the higher ups? It’s important, but was it worth your life?
“Sir! W-We’re surrounded! Requesting back up! Another squad! Anything!” “Unit 7-2, We’re sending people your way, try to hold on”
Was it worth theirs? Your squad?
“Have them come over as quickly as pos- “Bullets fly through the air, some landing with a squelching sound as they hit more of your unit. “SAM!!” Jenny ran up to him as he hit the floor hard, grabbing under his armpits to drag him backwards further into the house you were stuck inside, surrounded.
Controlling your breath as best you can, you place the USB stick in your sock securing it with your boot, if they find you with this in your hand, you’re as good as dead, or worse.
“Take it, find a back door, anything, lay low if you have to, you have to get out” Noah pressed the USB stick into your hand closing it tightly, his eyes desperate, hoping this wouldn’t end as bad as it already was. Clutching onto his side, injured, he half heartedly shoved you along, trying to get you to move. After shoving you hard enough to make you take a step back, he falls limp to the floor, his last request, get out, get out alive. Your legs finally move, but you quickly hear footsteps approaching from every angle. Dashing into a room to your left you slowly closed the door, hiding in a far away corner, leaning against the wall slowly sliding down.
Well, how are you gonna get out of this one? Steadying your breathing you start thinking of everyone, your unit, your family, the family you’ve come to love. Sure, Jenny was a pain in the ass and Sam wouldn’t shut his mouth all the fucking time, but you couldn’t imagine a live without them. And Noah, practically your brother, one who always pushed to you do better, the one who would always be there for you. Tears stream down your face as you try to not hyperventilate. This was probably the end huh? Not really a good way to go, hopefully it would be quick, preferable as painless as possible. Should you fight it? Should you accept it?
What a ridiculous question, you always go down fighting, that’s what the knuckle heads always said. Sam and Jenny never going down without a fight, always fighting back. You could feel rage build up in your throat, grabbing your empty gun you walk towards the door, the handle starting to turn. You lift your weapon up and immediately crack it in the first persons face, presumably breaking his nose. When he fell back you reeled back your gun, slamming the person to the left square in the ribcage. What you didn’t expect was a third man grabbing ahold of your throat, holding you in a headlock. “Jesus! A squirmy one this is!” he laughed as he choked you. “Mother fucker… Jeff, you good?” The second man asked the first one, holding over his ribs in pain. Jeff rolling on the ground clutching his nose groaning in agony. “Seems like that’s the last of them, I’ll get them to spill their guts, you take jeff to the medic” The man said, squeezing harder as you began to run out of air. He waits until you go slightly limp in his arms, then pushes you into the room. Because of the loss of oxygen, your head feels dizzy and you struggle to keep on your legs as you fall to the floor. The man fumbles with something before leaning down and grabbing your arms.
Great, restrained. You think as he binds your hands with rope. Pulling out a knife, he holds it up to your throat. “Now, lets play a little game called hide and seek, you have something I want” he says, dancing the blade along your throat as a threat. “Go fuck yourself” is what you manage to say. “Give us the intel and things won’t have to get ugly, unlike you” He smirks. What a fucking idiot you think to yourself. The only thing you can manage to say is an “uh uh”, you’re not giving up shit for them, not after what they did to your unit. “Fine, make it fun” he says, slowly trailing the knife down your chest, cutting below the pocket. “Hmm, not here” he continues. Cutting up your uniform, checking all of your pockets. “You really are making this difficult huh?” he sighs. It was deadly quiet, ten minutes this place was being lit up with bullets, how long was he gonna drag this out? “Looks like I’ll have to check the unthinkable” he almost sang. “The prison wallet if you will” Your eyes focus, looking back at him wide eyed, what the fuck does that mean? He grabs your hips, pulling them up higher, making you prop up on your knees. Is he..? is all you could think of as he stood up, fumbling with the front of his pants. You immediately look away, face flush with rage. Are you fucking serious? What is wrong with him?! You struggle against your restraints, not wanting this man inside you. “You can never be too sure, you know?” He said with the biggest shit eating grin on his face. If you become a ghost after he kills you, you’re definitely going to haunt him for the rest of his life, make him suffer. What you would give to push a knife slowly into his chest, seeing the life leave his fearful eyes. Hopefully this won’t last too long you think, as you fill your mind with images of murdering this man.
You jump as you hear something heavy fall beside you, opening your previously shut eyes you see your image, this man, his eyes full of fear. You look down to his throat, coated in red, blood streams seeping out with every pulse. He tries to scream, talk, anything, but nothing comes out, except for more blood from his throat, creating a thick layer on the floor, the life slowly leaving his eyes. You look behind you to understand what had happened, and what you saw shocked you. A massive figure holding out a knife, coated with the blood of your wanna-be rapist. The figure looked at the man with anger filled eyes, most of his face cover with a hood, a helmet holding it in place with what seemed to be blood smears leaking from the eyes of the hood. His eyes soften as they scan over to you, bending down to you. He slowly cuts the binds as to not hurt you. Rolling over to your side, you can only observe the figure, your savior. Atleast, you hoped he was, but you could imagine that no one would do that to their own men. He slowly reached a hand out, but stopped midway, slowly thinking for a second. He decides to place it on the floor beside you. “Are you hurt?” You hear his surprisingly soft voice ask, with a hint of an Austrian accent behind it. Your eyebrows raise in surprise. “Only my pride” was what you could reply with, your eyes slowly lolling to a half open state. The adrenaline is wearing off, not having to be in high alert mode. He seems to pick up on it as he slowly pushes a hand under your torso, steadily lifting you up into a bridal position. “I got you, don’t worry” He whispers, moving slowly through the doorway and out of the building. Your eyes couldn’t hold themselves up anymore, suddenly feeling all of the scrapes and scratches from bullets that you tried not to get hit by earlier, maybe you were more wounded than you thought.
“Area’s clear” You heard faintly as you were carried out of the house.
“That was fast” The man carrying you said.
“Why do you think they call me soap?”
“Oh… Oh! That makes sense”
The voices were blurry, you try to stay awake, making sure you were safe, it was difficult though, and you felt yourself zoning in and out.
“ -the only one?”
“It seems so… I couldn’t find it anywhere though, she might have it on her, but her pockets are cut”
“Do you think she has it?” Bootyour head says, swaying back and fourth.
“She might” Boot you try to mumble suddenly feeling just how dry your mouth and throat is.
“What was that?” You hear… a Scottish accent?
“Boot…” You weakly say, lolling your head out, only for it to bump into the large man’s chest as it tips back again. You feel something at your ankle.
“Heh, clever lass” the other man says as he seems to have found the USB stick they were looking for.
“Get her to medical, she’s coming back with us for now.” The Scot said and the hooded man nodded. He carried you a long distance, your mind wandering. As memories played in your head, you felt tears slowly running down your face again.
Smack! “Ow! Hey! What gives?!” “You know what Sam! You’re in MY spot, you always do this!” Jenny shouts. You hear a chuckle beside you. Giggling yourself, you look over to your side. “They can never not yell at each other, huh?” Noah said smiling, taking a bite of his breakfast. “Let’s just hope I don’t have to get involved again” You say, raising an eyebrow as a challenge at Sam. “Ooooh no, you are not sending me to the infirmary again!” He says, standing up and walking over to another empty seat further away from you. “It’s not her fault for not knowing her own strength, it’s your fault for being such an idiot” Jenny huffs, sitting down and taking a big bite of the sludge that was served. The rest of them giggle as you rub the back of your neck and laugh nervously. “I don’t mean to, ok? I just get excited” you say, flushing. Noah nudging you in the side “Save it for the field, yeah? You’re gonna be an important asset to us, you’re the one that’s gonna be saving out asses out there.” He says with soft eyes and a genuine smile. Noah...
