Chapter 1: Undelivered Package
Vegeta was not pleased.
That was putting it lightly.
The Prince of all Saiyans hovered high above a dull, insignificant town called Little Whinging, his arms crossed tightly over his chest, black eyes narrowed in irritation. The air was cold, the kind that bit at lesser beings—but Vegeta paid it no mind.
His frustration lay elsewhere.
"Ridiculous..." he muttered.
Why had Dende sent him here of all places?
England.
The last time Vegeta had set foot in this pathetic region, he had encountered a woman—weak by Saiyan standards, yet... not entirely human. There had been something about her. Something that lingered.
Lily.
His jaw tightened.
He had dismissed it at the time. Told himself it meant nothing.
But Dende's words echoed in his mind.
"There is something of yours left behind."
Something of his.
Vegeta scoffed aloud, but he had come anyway.
Because if there was even the slightest chance...
A sudden surge of energy cut through his thoughts.
Vegeta stilled.
His head snapped toward a small cluster of identical houses below.
"...Ki."
Not human.
Not entirely.
But faint—suppressed.
Hidden.
His eyes narrowed dangerously as he descended silently, landing atop a nearby rooftop. From there, he observed.
Three figures stood below.
Two humans... and something else.
The older male wore strange robes and carried himself with quiet authority. The other—female—shifted from the form of a small animal into a human.
Vegeta's brow furrowed.
"...Transformation without Ki."
Interesting.
He watched.
Listened.
"Hagrid is bringing him," the old man said calmly.
Him.
Vegeta's attention sharpened.
A distant roar filled the air—a machine approaching from the sky. Moments later, a massive human landed clumsily on the street, carrying something bundled in his arms.
Something small.
Something alive.
And then—
Vegeta felt it.
Clear.
Undeniable.
His breath hitched.
"...Impossible."
That energy—
That blood—
His.
The Prince of all Saiyans rose slowly to his feet, eyes locked onto the infant as the large human handed him over.
Even from this distance, Vegeta could see it.
The child's dark hair.
The familiar shape of his features.
And beneath it all...
Saiyan blood.
Vegeta's fist clenched.
His first instinct was immediate.
Take him.
Destroy anyone who stood in his way.
But Vegeta held himself back.
Barely.
He would observe first.
Learn.
Understand.
The humans spoke of leaving the child—his child—on the doorstep of a home.
Abandoning him.
Vegeta's expression darkened, fury simmering just beneath the surface.
"These fools..."
They placed the infant down as if he were nothing more than cargo.
A letter was set upon him.
Then they left.
Just like that.
Silence fell over the street.
For a moment, Vegeta did not move.
Then—
He vanished.
A blur of motion.
He landed before the doorstep, eyes immediately drawn to the child.
Up close... there was no denying it.
The resemblance.
The energy.
The blood.
"...My son."
The words left him before he could stop them.
The infant stirred slightly, green eyes blinking open—eyes that did not belong to him.
Lily.
Vegeta's chest tightened unexpectedly.
He reached down, picking up the letter first. His eyes scanned it quickly.
A dark wizard.
An attack.
Lily... fallen.
His grip tightened, crumpling the parchment slightly.
"...Coma."
A dangerous aura flickered around him.
He had not been there.
Had not protected what was his.
A mistake.
One that would not be repeated.
Vegeta looked down at the child again.
The boy looked... human.
But the Ki told a different story.
"...A disguise."
Of course.
Pathetic magic.
Trying to hide Saiyan blood.
Vegeta scoffed, but there was something else beneath it—something quieter.
Carefully, almost reluctantly, he reached down and lifted the infant into his arms.
The child did not cry.
Did not resist.
Instead, he settled.
As if he recognized him.
Vegeta went still.
"...Hmph."
A faint, almost imperceptible smirk touched his lips.
"Of course you do."
He adjusted his hold, far more careful than he would ever admit.
Then his expression hardened once more.
"This ends now."
With a surge of Ki, Vegeta launched into the sky, the ground beneath him cracking from the force.
He would go to Dende.
Remove whatever magic had been placed on the boy.
And then—
He would raise him properly.
As a Saiyan.
As his heir.
As the Prince's son.
Far below, the quiet street remained unchanged.
But the course of fate...
Had already shifted.
—Elsewhere, Not Long After—
Albus Dumbledore stood at the edge of Privet Drive, his blue eyes calm... yet troubled.
The night had gone exactly as planned.
Too exactly.
The boy had been delivered.
The protection secured.
The future—set into motion.
And yet...
Dumbledore frowned slightly.
He lifted his head, gaze drifting toward the sky.
"...Curious."
There had been a disturbance.
Subtle.
Fleeting.
But unmistakable.
Not magic.
Something else.
Something... older.
More primal.
For a brief moment, he had felt it brush against his senses—a presence that did not belong to the wizarding world.
Power.
Immense.
Unrefined.
And then—
Gone.
Dumbledore hummed thoughtfully, fingers lacing behind his back as he turned away from the quiet street.
"Perhaps I am merely growing paranoid in my old age..."
And yet, the feeling lingered.
A quiet whisper at the back of his mind.
Something had changed tonight.
Something important.
But as the great wizard walked away, robes sweeping softly behind him, he allowed himself a small, reassuring smile.
Whatever it was...
Surely, it could not interfere with what had already been set in motion.
After all—
Harry Potter was exactly where he was meant to be.
