To Learn to Love and Be Loved

Summary:

When a girl gets tossed into an alternate reality after death in which she's the omega mate to the Bangtan Alpha Pack

Notes:

No clue what I'm doing. Here's a random alpha BTS fic.

Work Text:

Alpha-omega tropes are fun to read. They are less fun to be the focus of not one but a group of alphas. When you’d died in an accident saving a small child, you hadn’t expected a Being to decide to give you a second chance in a world familiar to you but not. They had promised a life filled with long and adoration of the romantic kind, things you had longed for in your first life. You did not expect to be reborn into a world of secondary genders. And of course you were an omega. But the world didn’t just have secondary genders, it also had soulmates. All the wonderful, romantic tropes in which consent was also somewhat ignored to your complete annoyance. Not that you would let that happen to you.

Your life was very similar to your old one, even with the same people existing. Other than your family of course, the Being wasn’t that cruel. You were an orphan and you were ok with that. You could take care of yourself. And you moved through your years with scent blockers, suppressants and heavily locked doors during your monthly heats. You knew there was no taboo against hiring an alpha to take care of you during your heats, which began when you were fifteen. It was encouraged even, it helped omegas find compatible alphas that much faster. But you wanted your first time to be with someone who would also be your last. You’d only ever wanted to lose your virginity after marriage and you intended to keep it that way. Though in this case, you were happy to lose it after finding your destined mates.

You were twenty-two when you met them. Yup. Them.

In this world, Kpop was just as popular as it had been in your old one. A colleague and friend of yours had gotten tickets to the HYBE experience. A week of events with the idols of the HYBE group. Since you both had three weeks worth of vacation time saved up for the year, he decided to take you with him. Danny was the only other omega surgeon at the hospital you worked in in New York. He was mated to the most darling alpha, Matteo was a chef in a Michelin star restaurant and the two adored you. You were four years younger than Danny but you were both put in the same residency round and you’d been the maid of honour at his wedding. Matteo was seven years older than you and Italian and cared for you like the baby sibling he’d always wanted. Matteo had needed to return to Italy to visit his mother and insisted that you and Danny went to Seoul and enjoyed the music and hype. And so you let the two persuade you. And you would occasionally wonder, in the future, if that had been a mistake.

It had been going well for the most part. The fan events and goodies and food stalls were fun to explore. Not to mention the whole behind the scenes experiences. Danny had a lot of energy to spare was fluent in Korean, his grandmother having been Korean, not that you could tell from his very white appearance. You weren’t too out of place in the crowd. The tickets had been sold internationally and there were fans of all colours and genders wondering around. It was a bit overwhelming, especially with your more sensitive that most sense of smell. Thankfully the mask you constantly wore helped. Some time during the third day, you and Danny decided to split up, both being interested in separate events. Him for the random play dance competition and you for the song writing workshop with Producers BangPD and Slow Rabbit. On your way to the workshop you froze at the sound of whimpering. The omega inside you immediately sitting up and focusing at the sound. No one else seemed to notice, mostly because the rooms were supposed to be soundproof. You had resisted the urge to roll your eyes at the statement when it had been made, your ears begged to differ. Though you assumed you were the only one. Hearing the whimper again, you sighed. You couldn’t let whoever was making that sound continue. It was heartbreaking. So you followed the soft whimpers to what looked like a dressing room. It was dark and the smell of angry alpha was thick in the air, you narrowed your eyes, inner omega bristling and ready to fight. Omegas were not harmless or helpless in any way and angered Omegas were more than capable of killing if they were pushed. And you knew, for all that you were sweet and calm most of the time, there is always an undercurrent of anger swimming through your veins. You honestly felt sorry for the bastard that would face you when you finally snap. It would not be pretty.

At the whimper, you shook yourself out of your bloody fantasies, instead removing your own scent patch and releasing your own scent to counteract that of the alphas. Hoping that the pup found it comforting. Despite the fact that all omega scents were found sweet and comforting, you’d been told that your fresh scent was overbearing and unpalatable. It was why you kept it muted. Only Matteo and Danny had ever found it perfect. Your scent was a constant in their homes and nest, just as theirs was in yours. But as the smell of jasmine, vanilla, chai, books and that soft hint of petrichor filled the room, the whimpers cut off. You didn’t move from where you were, just ensuring the door was locked so no one could startle whoever was in the room and terrified. “I won’t hurt you, I promise. I’m just worried. Are you hurt? Did someone hurt you?,” you asked softly and slowly in English, hoping you were understood. You watched as a head popped up from behind one of the tables. He was a kid, he looked around thirteen or fourteen, still a trainee you assumed. But he looked familiar. The fluffy head of hair fully emerged and you realised you were looking at the maknae of TXT, a group that had yet to debut and wouldn’t for a while. You were surprised at how young Huening Kai looked, not that you were supposed to know his name. “Hey pup,” you murmured, dropping to your knees on the floor to make yourself less threatening now that you knew there was no danger in the room. He slowly crawled out towards you. He was trembling slightly and you desperately wanted to hug him. You slowly opened your arms and he tentatively moved towards you. “Its ok love,” you hummed patiently. And something cracked in him. He all but curled up on your lap, pressing himself into your being and snuffling against your scent gland. His own sweet scent of fruits, flowers and baby powder surrounded you. It was delicious, pups always smelled wonderful, like babies. You curled around him protectively, humming gently as you scented him. He obviously needed it.

The trembling eventually stopped and you were amused as you saw those ears turn a deep red. “Are you feeling better pup?,” you asked running a hand though the fluffy hair. He nodded, slowly leaning back. “Thank you. I’m Kai,” he stated in slightly hesitant English, voice barely rising above a whisper. “(Y/N). Do you want to tell me what happened or is there someone I can call?,” you asked gently. He bit his lip, “I’ll call my leader,” he whispered, reluctantly separating from you. He stared between you and the table he crawled out from and you stood with him, taking his hand. You sat with him as he called Soobin and told him where he was. “I should leave,” you murmured looking at the texts from Danny. Kai looked momentarily terrified, gripping your hand tightly before letting go reluctantly. You pressed a kiss to his forehead and scented him again. “I’ll give you my number. Do you have WhatsApp?,” you asked. He nodded. “You can text me and call whenever you need ok,” you whispered. He nodded. You gave him one last hug and left the dressing room. You stood and watched as a younger Soobin and Yeonjun rushed into the dressing room. Knowing the kid was in good hands, you made your way to find Danny.

You blinked at the message from Kai. It was in relatively broken English but you could understand it. He wanted to see you again. Asking if you’d be at the exhibition hall the next day. You cocked your head, Matteo had flown in and he and Danny would be taking a few days to relax as a couple. You were going to find a book or cat cafe and catch up with a novel or two. But you kinda needed to check on the poor pup and rip apart the bastard that had him cowering under a table. So you replied and you agreed to meet the pups during lunch in one of the smaller conference rooms. Thinking about the skinny, lanky baby that had curled on your lap, you figured you bring something sweet for him and his group to share. And that was how you ended up baking cookies at eleven at night. You left a batch for your friends and packed the rest in an airtight container. You hoped they liked chocolate chip and apple white chocolate.

You blinked at the five teens in the room. Kai beamed at the sight of you. Taehyun and Beomgyu had shyer smiles. Soobin was a mix of curious and concerned. While Yeonjun was all suspicion and defensiveness. Brilliant. Your scent must have changed to something like pride when you were studying Yeonjun because a slight flush spread up his neck. You resisted the urge to frown. Were they that starved for affection and praise? “I brought cookies,” you stated. At the sound of your voice, Kai bounded into your arms. You froze at the suddenness, making him tense in return but you quickly relaxed and hugged back, scenting him lightly and letting him be when he snuffled against your scent gland. Your scent mingling with his. You knew your scent was filling the room and you glanced around to make sure it wasn’t making anyone uncomfortable. It wasn’t. The four were now staring with awe and longing and envy. Kai moved to your side as you pulled out the container of cookies. “We’re Soobin, Yeonjun, Taehyun and Beomgyu,” Soobin introduced slowly as the four of them bowed in unison. “(Y/N),” you smiled. “You don’t mind if they hug you right unnie?,” Kai asked frankly. The question had his four pack mates freezing and turning absolute scarlet. The scent of embarrassment and the lightest tinge of hope hung in the air. You smiled sweetly, this was just too adorable. You opened your free arm and Taehyun and Beomgyu all but rushed you. You found yourself purring and grooming the two other teenagers, your soft scent coating them lovingly as they snuffled into you. When you deemed them suitably scented, you shuffled them off with a cookie and smiled at the older two. Soobin was careful, he’d been patient but seeing the affection you’d given his baby pack mates. He wanted it so much, he wanted to feel taken care off and adored. And so he slowly moved towards you and settled against you, closing his eyes and relaxing and just soaking in the affection and sweetness you so easily gave them. Yeonjun was still suspicious, but he wanted it just as much as Soobin and the maknaes. Seeing Soobin relax in a way he had never in their nest or dorms, he made his way to your other side and surrendered himself to the safety you radiated. And he just knew that if anyone unwanted were to find their way into the room, you would rip their throat out without question. You spent the afternoon with them. Between your broken Korean and their broken English you felt like you got to know them pretty well. And you understood Korean better than you spoke it, your pronunciation was just a little off here and there to their intense amusement. You made sure Kai shared your number and explained that you wouldn’t be back until the last day of the events. They pouted and complained and attempted to cajole you into visiting everyday but eventually gave in. You left them smelling of you and happy pup and a kiss on the forehead each to their endearing joy.

Namjoon looked at his pack mates with light fondness as they got ready for their fan meet. Seven alphas in one pack had not been easy to deal with but he was proud of them. They were doing incredible in their careers, they were an established pack finally. All that was left was for them to find their omega. He sighed gently, he knew all of them felt similarly. The omega that would complete them, would ground them and be theirs to cherish, protect and raise a family with. He’d heard of alpha packs never finding their omegas. Never having that feeling of completion, the rumours and gossip that followed them. Whispers of incompetence and being subpar. Whispers that cropped up among certain older and younger generations of idols when they saw the Bangtan pack. He looked up as he heard soft whispering coming from outside the dressing room, a smile involuntarily flickering across his face. The others had similar expressions, the room brightened further as the door opened and five adorable pups wandered in with bright smiles. The pups from TXT had a special place in the BTS pack’s heart. They were so eager and enthusiastic and more than talented at such a young age. Namjoon had already decided to make them part of their pack officially, he would be telling them after the Hybe events.

“Namjoon,” Yoongi’s gasp had him turning to the older with concern. As the younger three had flocked to Tae, Jimin and Junkook, Soobin had moved to Jin and Yeonjun to Yoongi, the alphas had been happy to hug and scent the boys. Only for all to freeze at the delicate scent that was intertwined with the pups’. An absolutely mouthwatering omega scent. It had all their alpha’s growling and they needed the person it belonged to. “Soobinah, who has scented you?,” Namjoon asked softly not wanting to startle the pups. All five pups blushed a deep red. “Manager-nim got mad at Kai and he ended up hiding in a makeup room. She heard him through the closed door and she comforted him. She gave him her number so we texted her and she came and brought cookies for all of us. She smells really good hyung and she’s so kind and has such warm hugs. She smells like home,” Soobin stated not wanting their seniors to be mad at you. “She sounds wonderful little one. And we’re grateful she took care of you. But her scent, she might be our mate, our omega. We just want to meet her,” Jin explained softly as Namjoon noted he would have to talk with the boys’ manager. The five exchanged glances and Kai pulled out his phone. “(Y/N)-unnie,” he hummed handing it to Jimin. The profile picture was a picture of you in Empire Square. “Oh, she is stunning,” Jimin breathed out. “And she’s here. Finally,” Yoongi sighed.

When the pups sent messages of wanting to see you urgently, you decided to postpone your solo walking tour and head to the Hybe building. When you opened the door you effectively froze, there were seven more people in the room than expected. Seven more men, seven alphas. Your slight terror and shock must have shown in your scent, Yeonjun immediately wrapping his arms around your waist and attempting to calm you down. Paying attention to the pup helped, but the moment you looked who you knew to be RM of BTS in the eyes, something twinged and snapped in your soul. You didn’t need a mirror to know your eyes were glowing an omega bronze-amethyst, just as the seven alphas’ eyes began to glow red. “Fuck,” you muttered.

You were seated at the end of the room with five adoring pups around you. The seven alphas were on the other end. You were an orphan and that meant you had no family to barter courtship with. But you had Matteo and Danny, who were all but blood. And the moment you’d call they’d rushed to get to you. The door slammed open and there was a blur as a blonde male omega sped into the room and all but hauled you into his arms, before pushing you behind him and watching the seven Korean alphas with narrowed eyes. Matteo’s entrance into the room was calmer but you could see beyond that plastic smile, the alpha was looking for weaknesses to exploit, ways to get you out with minimal damage to you and maximum damage to them. “When I said you should go looking for a mate,” Danny began, ignoring the growl from RM who understood what was being said, “I meant a nice guy or gal, or even two. Not a Korean idol pack made completely of alphas,” he muttered. “You think I wanted this?,” you hissed back, blinking as the pups attempted to get between you and Danny. The American wasn’t giving an inch but neither were the boys. “We’re going back to our room,” Matteo stated finally. You sighed in relief, jumping at the multiple snarls as Matteo wrapped an arm around your shoulders. “Oh shut the fuck up. She’s our pup. And you lot are going to find your manager and submit a proper courtship proposal,” Danny stated in Korean. The seven froze and nodded as one.

The contract was in front of Matteo and Danny the next morning. You sitting between them, close enough that either of them could grab you and run if needed. BangPD looked a mix of excited and absolutely exhausted. The alpha pack must have been too keyed up to deal with. “It’s reasonable,” Matteo stated calmly in Italian. Both you and Danny turned to him in unison. “She’ll have to move to Seoul for the next year as they court her. Live in the same space as them,” Danny hissed back. You nodded encouragingly. Matteo raised an eyebrow, “They have provided a longer courting period than most and of course she’ll live with them. They need to learn to get accustomed to each other and get to know each other. It is far beyond reasonable for an alpha pack that has been without an omega as long as they have been,” Matteo hummed. And you knew he was right. Danny merely scowled and pressed his face into your scent gland, ignoring the low grumbles of dissent from the alphas watching with anxiety and trepidations, unable to understand what was being said. “I have one condition. My heats during the year with be up to my discretion,” you muttered in Italian having seen the section where it was mentioned that your heats for the year were shared with the pack. “Its not like you’ll seek other alphas,” Matteo raised an eyebrow. “They don’t know that,” Danny was utterly pleased with your little Slytherin move. Matteo rolled his eyes and straightened up, turning to the translator, he relayed your one amendment. The beta translator’s eyes widened and he gaped for a moment before translating your words to the pack. There was a mere moment of silence before angry growls and pheromones filled the room. They were obviously displeased with the clause but none of the posturing or chemical attacks made you cower in any way. “Shut the fuck up and sit down,” Matteo’s growl made you think of a lion more than a wolf. The alpha was usually calm and a peacemaker, Danny being the spitfire, but the man would not stand for you to be disrespected in any way. “Our apologies. It is upsetting to think that our mate would want others to satisfy her during her heats while in our den,” Namjoon stated slowly. “I don’t have to be in your den,” you stated. “No, we’ll concede,” Namjoon immediately interjected.

“Then the proposal has been accepted,” Matteo hummed, “she will remain with us for the next two weeks as we bring her belongings to your den.” “Of course,” BangPD looked grateful it was over. Matteo and Danny signed as your pack, then the alpha pack and finally Jungkook handed you the pen. You could still deny them. Say no and go home to New York. Matteo and Danny would keep you with them till death if possible, you would never be a burden or unwanted in any way. You didn’t need romantic love, you could adopt, have a one night stand if you wanted kids. You didn’t need to bind yourself to seven men with lifestyles that could break someone unable to handle it. But you’d felt that bond lock in your chest and you knew you’d feel the loss so keenly, it would drive your inner omega crazy. So you took a breath and signed your name on the bottom of the contract.

The two weeks went by much too quickly for your taste. You’d gotten a crash course in Korean and spoken in length to Danny’s grandmother about cultural differences. All the clothes and personal objects and pieces of furniture had been moved from your apartment to your room in the Bangtan den house. All your belongings in Danny and Matteo’s house would remain there, you were still a part of their pack. No matter what. Moving in had been stressful and you weren’t going to lie, you wouldn’t have spent that entire first night in tears if the pups hadn’t snuck in and stood outside your nest until you gave them permission to come in and snuggle under the thick, sinfully soft blankets and pillows. The next day the courting would began and you weren’t sure if you were ready.

Jin had made you breakfast. You’d been up with the sun and had carefully gotten out of Yeonjun and Kai’s grips and tucked the five in before heading to the bathroom to shower and freshen up for the day. You’d intended to make yourself something only to find Jin already in the kitchen pouring over a tablet of what looked to be American breakfast recipes. “Good morning,” you hummed softly. The man startled, swearing a little before realising who was in the kitchen with him. “Good morning,” he murmured in light wonder. You smiled, coming to stand on the other side of the kitchen island. “I’m (Y/N) by the way. I’m not sure if we were properly introduced,” you stated in slow Korean. Jin grinned and while you’d never actually seen him as handsome as everyone liked to gush, you could see the attractiveness in that sunny smile. “Seokjin, or just Jin. You’re younger than even Jungkook so hyung is also alright,” he rambled. You pressed a hand to his arm to calm him down and his eyes widened at the touch. “Well Jin hyung, you’re up early,” you stated. “I wasn’t sure what you would like for breakfast. And you are also up early,” he pointed out. “I’m still not very used to,” you paused. He nodded, smile dimming. “But if you don’t mind Indian food for breakfast,” you trailed off, recalling some of your favourite recipes you'd picked up during a trip to India with Danny and Matteo. “I would enjoy helping you.”

The pups were the next up. The realisation you were gone coupled with the smell of food wafting in had them getting ready and bounding to the kitchen. You’d decided to make dosa with potato sambal and coriander chutney. Jin had picked it up from you pretty quickly. And the two hours you’d had to wait for the flour mixture to rest, you’d gotten to know him a little better. You’d heard the pups stirring and began to cook the first two dosa. Cracking an egg in the centre of both. Jin helped with the next batch so there was a hot piece for each of the pups when they took a seat. A fresh dosa made every time it was requested. Namjoon, Hoseok and Yoongi were the next to come down, just as the pups were on their third rounds. They scented the pups in the dining room before carefully approaching the kitchen. The sight before them filled them with warmth and the slightest envy. Jin was at the stove and something he’d said had you giggling, you were leaning against the counter with a plate of food, tearing off a piece and picking up some filling you fed Jin as he flipped the dosas on the pan. Four pairs of eyes watched as you licked the gravy of the fingers that had fed Jin before picking some food to pop into your own mouth. It was instinctual apparently but it showed you were relaxing around them, trusted them somewhat. Then you noticed them and you shrunk in to yourself in the slightest.

“Good morning. Would you like some breakfast?,” you asked with a polite smile, pointedly different from the one you’d been giving Jin. “We’d love some, if it isn’t any trouble,” Namjoon hummed. “Of course not, I hope you like it,” you murmured, moving to partially take over from Jin. Jin easily moved around her, twisting a loose strand of her hair away from her face. She handed him a plate and the other three sat at the island as they ate honestly a delicious and filling meal that wasn’t too heavy and apparently was in line with their diets. Their mate’s consideration was wonderful. Jin remained on the other side beside you, feeding you a bit here and there as you continued to serve the older three. You felt terrible realising that you hadn’t made enough batter for the maknae but Jin waved it off, murmuring about late night troublemakers and heavy sleepers. You hummed but let it go, letting Jin press hand to your waist for a moment before slipping out of the kitchen to see the pups before they headed to training.

The youngest three were obviously upset when they realised that they didn’t get to see their omega that morning, you having gone with the pups to their training. They also hadn’t gotten to eat any of your obviously delicious food from the lingering scent and the photos Hobi had taken. “She is terrified and we can’t blame her but she is willing to get to know us, to make this work,” Jin stated. “She let you scent her already?,” Jimin’s eyes widened. Jin grinned proudly, “She likes how I smell,” he stated proudly. “Lucky bastard,” Tae muttered earning a smack from Yoongi for his language. “We just need to spend time with her. Be patient and NOT overwhelm her. Never corner her or pressure her,” Namjoon stated firmly. The next week went by with you interacting with the pack as little as possible, spending a lot more time around the pups and Jin. Then the pups headed off to record their reality show. And it was just you and the alphas. And you were bored and lonely and decided to bother one of your mates. You weren’t going to lie to yourself, you were never truly going to reject them, they were your mates for better or for worse and you would have a family with them. You just has to fight your shyness and anxiety and give both you and them a chance to bond and learn about each other.

Your sensitive hearing was very useful at the moment. Hobi, Tae and Jimin were practicing some dance, Namjoon was with Jin in the living room watching something. Jungkook and Yoongi were both alone in their respective rooms. So you had two options. Not really, you were definitely going to pick Jungkook, Yoongi intimidated you the most out of all the guys. And you weren’t ready to deal with him just yet. So you dredged up your courage and softly padded over to Jungkook’s room, two doors down from you. The pups shared room between the two of you. And you knocked softly. You heard some shuffling and the door opened and the youngest of the alphas stared at you with light confusion and concern. “Are you ok?,” he asked gently, remembering Namjoon-hyung’s words. You shrugged, “I was wondering if I could hangout with you?,” you asked gently. Jungkook seemed to stall for a moment before nodded, a bright smile on his face. “I was playing video games if you wanna join me?,” he asked. His room was cozy and slightly messy but warm and smelled like a crackling fire. “I’m not that great but I’m happy to watch,” you hummed. He nodded and let you in, closing the door behind you. He watched as you took a seat on his bed, he lowered himself to the foot and grabbed the controller, continuing his game of FNAF. He quickly got sucked back into the game and you watched with interest, it was a mystery type horror game and the storyline had English subtitles under the Korean. You didn’t notice how close you’d gotten to Jungkook until a jump scare had you gripping his shoulder. He blinked at the sudden touch, looking up with a chuckle at the annoyance on your face at being caught unawares. “Rude,” you muttered blushing at his laugh. “You’re adorable,” he hummed cheekily. “Thanks,” you hummed, “can we watch a movie. I wanna cuddle,” you asked shyly. Once again Jungkook stalled but at the increasing length of silence you decided to retreat, “we don’t have too if your uncomfortable,” you began as you tried to get off his bed. “No. No, I’d love to cuddle. As long as you’re sure and you are comfortable?,” he asked, “my scent tends to draw out flight or flight instincts when I’m too close to people,” he explained. “I think it’s comforting and warm,” you shrugged. “In that case, cuddle with me as you wish,” he beamed eagerly.

The movie wasn’t even halfway through before you were fast asleep curled up under Jungkook’s chin, his arms wrapped around you, legs entertained and blankets warm around you. And that was the sight Tae and Hobi were treated to when they decided to look for the youngest and see if he wanted to join them to get food. The slamming of his door open had you freaking out. You would have jumped right out of the bed if Jungkook hadn’t been curled so tightly around you and partially alert with his omega asleep in his arms for the first time. He rumbled deeply, releasing his scent to comfort you before turning to glare at the two invaders who muttered a jealous apology and tiptoed back out. You calmed down and relaxed back into his hold, “Can I sleep here tonight?,” you asked. “Of course, you don’t have to ask.” And you began to spend half the nights in the week cuddling with either Jin or Jungkook.

Back in your old world, when you were barely paying attention to Kpop and BTS, you’d had obsessed cousins who had loved them and forced you to pay attention. And after numerous BTS Run episodes you could say that Hoseok and Namjoon had always been your favourite. And you were also most curious about them. You just were’t sure how to approach either one. One night you realised you didn’t really have a choice. You’d wanted a glass of water, feeling a bit overheated being surrounded by the five pups who were staying the den for the weekend. You’d made your way into the kitchen and froze at the scent of absolute exhaustion, self-depreciation and depression. Namjoon was seated at the island, head bowed into his arms. Staring shoulders lumped over and you felt your heart break just a little for the leader carrying too many burdens. You approached silently and pressed a hand to his exposed forearm. He tensed. But after a moment, he looked up. And you manoeuvred  him so he was hugging you. His arms tightened around your waist as he pressed his face into your belly, your own arms curled around his shoulders and you were pressed kisses to his purple hair. And Namjoon had you in his bed for the first time of many to come.

Hobi decided to take initiative with getting to know you and you appreciated it greatly. He took you out to a night market. You loved food and he was more than happy to buy you anything you wanted. Especially happy for you to curl into him when the smell got to be too much and you needed a reprieve, his thunderstorm scent soothing your unease. And when you both returned, you showered in his room, not wanting the mixed scents to enter your own. Using his soap and later his clothes before curling up with him in his bed meant Hoseok was feeling like the luckiest alpha on the planet. It was safe to say the remaining  three who had yet to get any of your undivided attention were jealous.

The next alpha you approached was Taehyung. Mostly because you were styling your hair and wanted his help. You also figured he would be the easiest to teach, you’d gotten spoilt by Danny and Matteo, both of whom had painstakingly learnt how to do your hair for you when you were feeling impatient. You took a breath and walked into the living room where all the alphas were lounging and relaxing after a hectic week of training. Of course your entrance immediately had them perking up, eager for you to join them. You gave a small smile to them collectively, “I was wondering if I could borrow  Tae-hyung?,” you asked. Tae all but bounced out of his seat, “Of course my lady,” he purred offering his arm. You gave a soft chuckle before taking it and asking if  he could lead you to his room. He gave enthusiastic consent. You carefully opened the small wooden box that Matteo had gifted you specially for your collection of hair accessories. There were some delicate and rather unique pieces that were obviously not cheap, but neither of your pack mates families were poor and loved to spoil their sons’ chosen sister. It helped that they were both only children and you were the only girl in several generations in both families. Tae studied the shimmering rose-gold fabric with white gold  flowers patterns running across the borders. “I’m attending a colleagues wedding next week, I've got the outfit down but I was wondering if you wanted to help me figure out my hair? I‘m kinda used to either Danny or Matteo doing it for me…” “Of course,” Tae interrupted your rambling. You beamed and the next two hours you went through the different ways of tying and arranging your thick, long hair. “Do you want to be my date? I'm allowed a plus one. If you want,” you added shyly. Tae nodded enthusiastically.

The both of you did end up on the front page of several fashion magazines thanks to paparazzi, thankfully your friend was more amused than anything else, especially when you accidentally caught the bouquet while getting a piece of cake. And Tae became one of your trusted alphas and someone who would more often then not join when you were spending the night with Jungkook.

Jimin watched in a mix of awe and terror  as you happily let a green python wrap around you like living feather scarf. Like Hoseok, Jimin decided the best approach was to invite you out. And having overheard you mentioning your love of zoos to Hobi, he decided to rent out one of the biggest zoos for the day so you could have all the meet and greet experiences without being stared at. He had no clue you were so fond of reptiles. Maybe he’d tell his hyungs, a small corn snake would’t be too much of an issue, especially considering they required less care than dogs. You took photos with everything, completely entranced by every creature no matter how ugly. Except when it came to the insect exhibit. You were alright with the butterflies and there were several pictures he’d sent to the group chat and one particular one he’d be saving as his phone background. The moment you got to the smaller, slimier insects, the creepier crawlies, you all but jumped into his arms, refusing to even walk through the exhibit with all the snails and slugs pressed against the glass. You had your eyes closed tightly and your grip on his jacket was tight. But the alpha part of him was utterly delighted. As small as it was, literally, he could prove he could protect you. He sped the both of you out of the exhibit and got you both ice creams before heading to sushi place and heading home.

You didn’t want to say you were avoiding Yoongi, but maybe you were avoiding him a little. You couldn’t help it. Something about him scared you. You had knew the moment you had seen him that he was very similar to Matteo’s father Stefan. The man was quiet but highly observant and protective over his pup and omega wife. And when you and Danny came into the picture, that transferred over to the both of you. You especially, as an unbounded female omega who was also the youngest. You once saw him rip a man apart for leering at you a little too long, he lost an arm that day and would have lost his life if you hadn’t calmed the man down long enough for Danny to work on him, reluctantly. Yoongi had the same feral tinge to his gaze, and when he looked at you, you felt protected, possessed and so very loved. But making your move with Yoongi would mean you could never go back and as sure as you were you wanted this pack, a smaller part of you that was your parents’ daughter was wary of giving your self to a man like Yoongi, to a pack like the BTS alpha pack. And so you avoided.

Yoongi had been patient, he hadn’t cornered her or forced her or done anything remotely aggressive. So why was their omega all but running away from him. He’d watched as she’d approached the others one by one, or been approached in Jimin and Hoseok’s cases. The way she let them earn her trust and gave it to them in the form of the longed after touch, the press of her body against theirs, the mingling of scents in their personal beds. But it had been weeks since hers and Jimin’s trip and still she wouldn’t remain in the room with him if they were alone. He couldn’t understand what he had done to make her feel the need to all but vanish every time they were alone together. Was there something she could see about him, his temper, did she think he would hurt her somehow? Did she not find his scent or appearance appealing? He could’t understand it but before he could bite the bullet and confront her, she went into preheat.

You were somewhat amused as you watched the alphas get a little more protective, obeying your every whim, but that hint of terror defiled it. Your clause that you would manage your heat as you pleased had them anxious. You spent the week leading up to your heat scenting the pups aggressively for the three days you wouldn’t see them, collecting things from your six alphas to put into your nest. And finally you needed something to help you through your heat. Only you were’t going to use a toy or pillows like usual, no you were going to have an alpha.  You knew your heat would start the next morning, so the night before, you slipped on a dressing robe and made your way to the living room where the boys were all edge. “I’ll be going into heat tomorrow and I expect none of you to disturb us for the next three days,” you hummed, feeling a twinge in your chest as they all smelled of misery the moment you said ‘us’. “When I come out of it I expect a lot of chilled cut fruit, melon, mango, juicy pears, oranges and ice cold water,”you hummed and they nodded attentively. You glanced at the clock and turned to face Yoongi, who had remained silent the entire time well aware none of his clothes or sheets were part of your nest. You offered your hand, “Come along alpha,” you hummed. And you could have heard a pin drop.

Yoongi stared at that delicate wrist and long fingers, the remnants of the henna you’d had done  for your colleague’s wedding. “Are you sure jagiyah?,” he asked softly. “Of course,” you hummed shyly. And he took your hand and let you lead him to your room and into your nest.

The alpha would only leave your room the next evening, shirtless and scratched up, as you rested for a few hours after your first wave. “She was a virgin,” he muttered and the others were just as shocked as he had been. It must have been hell to got through so many heats without a companion and yet you had. Their strong, precious diamond who had waited for her mates. For them. For him. Yoongi had no doubts about your love, the night before your heat, as he’d taken your virginity, you’d whispered the truth of your distance and he’d understood your reasons for waiting. And he was rewarded for his own patience with the greatest gift any alpha could have.

When you shook yourself from the haze you found yourself with seven doting alphas at your beck and call. Soothing without being too smothering. And five pups pleased to have your attention on them once more. And you slowly began to adapt and get used to the idea of being the mate of an alpha pack.
