Chapter Text
Eijun showed sigh of a smart kid since he was a toddler. Eijun only liked building block for a toy at first, then his interest moved from it to legos and stayed there ever since. It was quite a hazard for his parents, as he went through his lego sets really fast. They bought him the kid sets at first, but they had to move up to the teen or adult sets really really fast.
Eijun's parents was really happy when he reached school age. They, however; faced yet another problem that lasted longer than their previous problem. That problem is, ironically, book. Other parents would be absolutely happy if their kid voluntary pick up the books, but at the speed in which Eijun went through his books, his parents would have to file for bankrupt first.
But alas, our Ei-chan is not only a smart child but also a good child. He sensed his parents' distress, and decided to help expand his family's business. He grew them big enough to generate enough income to satisfy his need and also leave enough for his family too which is a really big amount.
Because Eijun is too smart for a kid his age, he lost interest in interacting with other kids, saved for a group he called his friends. He would always be sighted with his nose in his book at any time. His parents became really worried about this.
It was also not helping with the fact that the teachers was all favored him more than other children for his smartness. This led to Eijun being outcast by other kids in the class which led to Eijun becoming more close off to others and it was also starting to come in between him and his friends too. The latter worried the Sawamuras more than the former.
Miracle came in form of an afternoon in the weekend, when Eijun was 8 years old, where all the members of the Sawamura family gathered in the living room and was watching some show on TV. The show happened to be a baseball match, and this instantly caught Eijun's interest. In some other world, he might fall in love at first sight with baseball but here, his whole interest is on the pitcher only, not baseball as a whole.
He found it really fascinating how the pitchers controlled the ball for it to go where they want it to be. The movement, the controll, and the physics behind it is so amazing it grabbed Eijun's full attention. This did not go unnoticed to his parents and grandpa.
"Eijun, what's wrong? Why are you staring at the TV so hard?", Kyoko, his mother, asked, worried as to why her son was like this.
"Mama, I want to learn that.", little Eijun pointed his little finger to the TV which was showing the baseball match that was mentioned before.
"You mean baseball? Eijun, you want to play baseball?", his father, Eiji, asked happily for the fact that his son was not just interested in books anymore.
Eijun turned to his dad and replied blankly, "Is that what this sport called? But no, papa. I don't want to play the sport. I want to learn to throw the ball like that person.", said Eijun as he pointed his little finger to the TV again, but this time to the pitcher on the mound.
"Ah, so you're not interested in the sport but just the pitcher huh.", Eiji happily replied. Even if his son doesn't take interest in the sport as a whole, he still interested in a part of it.
"Hmph! This mean another bookstore trip, doesn't it?", Eitoku, Eijun's grandfather, who had been quiet all this time finally joined the conversation.
Obvious to his father's distress, Eijun replied cheerfully to his grandpa, "Of course, jii-chan and a trip to a CD store also."
Eiji was sulking in the cornor at this point because his son was trying to spend more money again, granted that it was not on useless things but still!
"Oh, I'm so proud of you, Ei-chan!! Mama promises to bring you on a shopping next weekend. You're allow to buy whatever you need!", Eijun's mother, Kyoko, said with a big smile. She felt very proud of her son to be able to find his interest on something by himself like this. No one worried about her son more than her afterall. She is his mother.
Eiji heard that and said in a panick, "But honey, he has more than enough-",however; he was cut off by his wife, "Dear, we have to allow the child to explore their interests in order for them to grow up and make their own decisions."
Eiji might be the man of the family, but he was still absolutely unable to win against his wife. He turned to his dad and sent him a pleading eyes, asking for help. Eitoku, however; destroyed his hope brutally, "Don't pull me into this, Eiji. What my daughter-in-law want, what my daughter-in-law get."
Eiji felt absolutely betrayed and sent a look of betrayal to his father who still replied casually, "Oh don't givs me that look, Eiji! We all know you will give in to her in a matter of seconds anyway!"
Well, that is true. He had never won against his wife ever since they were dating. Now, it was basically zero chance for him now. Atleast, his son would have to interact with othe people now. Afterall, Baseball is a Team sport.
The next week, the sawamuras went on a family shopping trip to Eijun's favorite bookstore and to a CD store. Later that day, the sawamura men emptied another room for Eijun to store his books and other stuffs. Again.
Mini threater:
