Chapter 1: Intro
Chapter Text
Aizawa sighs as he looks over the files on the latest vigilante. They always put him on the hardest cases. Tsukauchi walked into his office with a file in one hand and a coffee in the other.
“Another sighting?” Aizawa asks feeling a migraine forming already.
Tsukauchi grimaced and nodded, “Down in Musutafu.”
“What happened this time?”
“They stopped a mugging and walked the kid getting attacked to the police station, but that’s all we know, there could’ve been more.”
Aizawa sighed and took the file, “Alright, I’ll head over there tomorrow night and see if I can find anything.”
==============================================
Shoto drops to the ground of the warehouse, footsteps silent from years of having to move quietly. He takes off his mask, costume, and wig. Yep, that’s right, wig. When he was patrolling he dressed up as a girl. While he was planning how he was going to be a kick ass vigilante, he decided that being the son of the #2 hero and all, he was too recognizable. So every night after training with Endeavor, Shoto would sneak out put makeup on, contacts in, and put a light pink wig on. He also puts on what people would consider more girly clothes that he bought with Endeavors credit card. Luckily Shoto learned how to sew and now has hidden pockets filled with anything a vigilante could need.
He walked over to the vanity he placed in the corner. Well, vanity was a strong word for what he has, which is a mirror on top of some boxes. He looked into the mirror and saw that he had a cut near his hairline, he hadn’t noticed. After years of being trained by Endeavor he had built up a pretty high pain tolerance. Luckily the cut was on his right side, where the makeup wasn’t as important. Shoto looked at the cut and thought about how he got it.
“Oh, that’s right.”
==============================================
He was running over the rooftops keeping an eye out while listening to the police radio. All of a sudden a scream disrupted the calm night. Shoto turned and bolted towards where the scream came from. When he got there he saw a little girl getting attacked by a guy with a quirk that seemed to make his fingernails knives. He slowly, as to not make any noise, put his hands together letting his quirks intertwine to make mist slowly float down blocking the guys view.
“HUH?! What’s going on?!” the guy screamed lashing out at the mist.
Shoto hopped down and picked the girl up, “Are you alright?” he asked.
The little girl looked at him with tears in her eyes, “Y-yeah thank you for saving me.”
“Of course honey,” just then the guy slashed through the mist and, of course hit Shoto’s face. Not that he noticed, adrenaline pumping through his veins he tightened his hold on the girl. Shoto’s other hand flew out and started to lower the temperature around the guy with knives. Noticing that he was slowing down, the guy looked accusingly at him.
“Stupid little girl! What are you doing!?”
“Beating you.”
Shoto freezes him with only the slightest bit of frost covering his fingers. Luckily he was holding the girl on his left side so she didn’t feel the cold. He walked behind the guy and put zip ties on his wrists which was harder with his limited motion. He walked out of the alleyway and towards the police station.
“What’s your name honey?” he asked the little girl.
“Hinata! Thank you for saving me back there miss!”
“Of course, Hinata. Now I’m going to drop you off at this police station,” he said pointing to the station they had arrived to, “can you tell them what happened for me?”
“Sure!”
“Thank you honey stay safe now,” he started to walk away.
“Wait!”
He turned back to the girl and hummed questioningly.
“What’s your name?”
He smiled, “Fuyuko.”

Chapter Text
Shoto slipped back into his room, window shutting with a near silent click. His face no longer covered in makeup he laid down on his bed and hoped to get at least 4 hours of sleep before Endeavor woke him up to start his training. He doesn’t ever get to eat breakfast before training starts. Apparently it was because, “heroes get emergency calls all the time and don’t have time to eat.” Shoto thinks Endeavors just cruel. Since becoming a vigilante he has found it easier to sleep. Doesn’t mean he gets much of it, but he does sleep.
=================================================================================== He wakes up to the familiar pounding on his door and the, “SHOTO TRAINING ROOM 5 MINUTES!”
He pulls himself out of his bed and puts on his training clothes. He does some small stretches and trudges to the training room. When he gets there Endeavor is waiting.
“Shoto, as you know school starts in 3 months,” wow has he really been doing vigilantism for almost 3 years, “so we need to increase your training in preparation.”
“Of course, father,” Shoto said keeping his voice flat and face deadpan.
His father lunged at him and training started. It went pretty much like how every other session went, with Endeavor beating him and Shoto trying to freeze him.
At the end he was tired and angry, so when Endeavor asked him what he learned he didn’t think before he spoke.
“Like you could teach me anything,” the fist that hit his face (and left a bruise) wasn’t quite worth it, but oh well.
He walked into the kitchen and saw Fuyumi talking to someone on the phone and chopping some vegetables. He was bored and had nothing better to do, so he walked over to Fuyumi and started helping. Thankfully she had taught him how to cook whenever Endeavor wasn’t around so he knew what she was doing and what the next step was. She looked over to him in surprise and mouthed the words ‘thank you’ to him and went back to talking to whoever was on the phone. He finished what he was doing, grabbed an orange and went upstairs to tend to his injuries that training always left him with.
================================================================================= Shoto went back to his room after evening training and waited for a bit before sneaking out into the hallway. He walked down to Fuyumis bedroom and listened for any sign she was awake, then left and did the same to Endeavors. When he arrived at his room he snuck out the window, rolling to avoid getting hurt from the 8 foot fall. He snuck his way to the warehouse being very cautious of his surroundings. He sat down at the vanity and carefully put on his cosmetic disguise and his mask which changed his voice. The outfit was a whole other thing, which consisted of black platform shoes that had light blue clouds painted on the sides, black cargo pants, a black top, a jacket, and a cape. He had started adding patches and pins when he was 13 so his second year of vigilantism. Once he was ready he hops out of the window and onto the rooftops, his patrol has begun.
==================================================================================== Aizawa pulls his scarf around his neck and hopped to the next roof. He’s searching for the vigilante whose name was in the latest file as Fuyuko. She was apparently respected among the people of Musutafu so there weren’t many people who were willing to tell. He scanned the area when he spotted a figure across the street hopping on roofs as he has been a minute ago. He swung his scarf to a lamppost close to them and then swung up onto the room. Fuyuko turned to him, tilted her head, and then continues running. Aizawa didn’t stop, he’s been a hero for long enough that he doesn’t do that anymore, but he was a bit confused, she obviously saw him but just didn’t care. He threw out his scarf already tired of this, but Fuyuko just dodged it. Then all of a sudden she stopped and made a sharp turn, just then Aizawas police radio went off and, sure enough, the directions to this crime was the direction Fuyuko was headed. Well he was after her anyway so he followed after her. When he got there he saw her crouched on the edge of the roof holding her hands together. After a second of them observing the situation she started producing mist down into the alleyway blocking the attackers from the guy they were attacking. Then Fuyuko jumped down and stood guard in front of the man. Aizawa shot his scarf out and grabbed the attackers in his scarf and also jumped down. Fuyuko looked at him with surprise etched across her visible features then nodded and turned to the man who was attacked.
“What’s your name honey? she asked him voice calm.
The guy visibly relaxed and replied, “Yamato”
Aizawa handcuffed the attackers and set them against the wall, then he turned to where Fuyuko stood talking to Yamato.
“Sorry to interrupt but Yamato here should probably get home,” he said looking at Fuyuko.
She looked at him knowing that’s not why he interrupted but agreed, and with that Yamato was gone and they were left to take the criminals to the police station. Aizawa had knocked them out for simplicity, and so he could talk to Fuyuko. But before he could start she started talking.
“I’m a fan Eraserhead, really I am. But unfortunately for you I can’t really go to jail, so sorry, but I’ll be taking my leave now.”
Aizawa was confused, she knew who he was which didn’t make sense, he was an underground hero. And she actually sounded sorry. Fuyuko turned and bolted up to the rooftops with some kind of quirk enhanced jump and ran away. Aizawa sighed and went into the police station explained what happened and went back to his office.
Notes:
This probably isn’t the best it was kinda rushed but I appreciate any interaction you give me :)

Chapter Text
Aizawa sits down at his desk looking at the report form he had to fill out. Tsukauchi came into his office and handed him a cup of coffee. Aizawa thanked him and picked up his pen and started filling out the basics.
“So… what happened?” Tsukauchi asked leaning on his desk.
Aizawa sighed and looked up at him, “Well, I did see Fuyuko. And she helped me stop an assault, but she ran away when I got to the police station.”
Tsukauchi sighed and dragged his hands down his face sighing. “So we have no more than we did before. Great.”
“Yeah. Now leave me alone I have to fill out this report.”
==============================================
Shoto landed in the street, heart pounding as he walked down the sidewalk trying not to attract any attention to himself. He can’t believe that he actually got away from Eraserhead, who wasn’t really well known but Shoto had wanted to find heroes that were the opposite of Endeavor and that was who he found. But still! Shoto hadn’t expected to ever actually meet him. Well, except for when school starts because apparently Eraserhead, or as the school listed him as, Shōta Aizawa, would be his home room teacher if he made it into Class-1A(which he would because Endeavor always got what he wanted).
Shoto had gotten good at reading facial expressions over the past few years from being a vigilante, and noticed that Eraserhead had been surprised when Shoto said his name. Which, is to be expected, but Shoto couldn’t have a role model with a bad history, so he had done his research. And sure maybe having a role model that is an underground hero with a flashy quirk like his might not work out… but, Shoto thinks he’s got it figured out. See he decided that since he was mad at Endeavor he wouldn’t use his fire, but that doesn’t mean he wouldn’t use his entire left side. He discovered that if he used his left side to just produce heat then he could make water or mist, which also erases the problem of having a recognizable or flashy quirk.
As Shoto walked down the sidewalk he looked around observing the people that were out, he wasn’t obviously dressed as a vigilante (minus the cape) so no one was looking at him strangely. But it was getting late and he had already been patrolling for a bit before Eraserhead had found him, so back to the warehouse he went.

Chapter Text
================3 months later==================
Shoto wakes up to a slight change in routine, because instead of Endeavor waking him up for training, he was woken up for school. Training the day before had been extra hard on him, and he had lost track of time when patrolling so now he was tired and injured. Great. He pulled himself out of bed, being careful as to not irritate any wounds. He quickly showered and got ready then sped out the door as soon as possible so he could avoid Endeavor.
===============================================
When he got to class 1A he noticed that he was one of the first ones there. There were a few others one of which he recognized from the recommendation exam. The girl (wasn’t her name Momo..? Shoto couldn’t remember.) was sitting in the seat right next to his, hopefully she would introduce herself if she wanted to talk to him.
The other came up to him and bowed and announced, “Hello! I am your classmate Tenya Ida. I hope we can become good friends and colleagues!”
Shoto looked at him and blinked, “Shoto. But I’m not really here to make friends,” he walked away from Ida hoping no one else would try and talk to him today.Fortunately his luck decided to bless him and ponytail (he couldn’t keep calling her ‘the girl’ this was the best he could come up with) didn’t talk to him. He watched (and nicknamed) people as they walked in. First, blasty came in, and then started yelling when Ida tried to talk to him. Then came in pinky she was very… smiley and loud but she seemed nice enough. Some others came in, like spiky he was all smiley and didn’t falter when blasty screamed at him. Sparky also came in and quickly became friends with pinky and spiky.
The rest of the students came in except for two… oh well Shoto didn’t care. Then he saw them greeny and his friend talking outside of the door blocking something that was on the floor… oh, the teacher. Sure enough, Aizawa soon rose from the sleeping bag and the students rushed to their seats.
“It took 8 seconds for you all to quiet down. Get ready.”
Some students still looked surprised that he was their teacher, which was reasonable he guesses, not everyone did as much research as he did. Then the teacher gestured towards the wall and the gym uniforms popped out and he started to leave the classroom. Shoto made his way towards the wall and walked out of the class.
Unfortunately Shoto’s luck ran out there, because the changing rooms weren’t stalls, it was just a big room. He had trained with Endeavor for the majority of his life obviously that had left him with scars. So he looked around and finally found a bathroom stall that he could change in, so he walked over there and started changing. Like he said earlier to Ida, he wasn’t here to make friends, so he didn’t care if people thought he was weird.
When he walked out he was surprised (not that he showed it he made sure he stopped doing that years ago) to see that many others were still changing. They seemed to be more chatting than anything, he saw a few of them turn a bit to stare at him, but they quickly looked away.
Shoto was done there so he went out to where some of the other students were standing and waiting. He saw Aizawa-sensei watching them from where he was leaning against the wall. It was still kind of weird to see someone who was trying to arrest him just a few months ago be his teacher. Right now Aizawa seemed to be annoyed with how long the others were taking.
Finally, the others came out and Aizawa walked to the front of the class.
“Today we will be testing your quirks. The person who comes in last place will be expelled.”
Shoto watched as students started looking around at each other in surprise. But he knew Aizawa-sensei was lying, when Shoto did his research he saw that Aizawa had a track record of expelling students. But it was never this early on, and besides expelling someone because of this would just be wrong. Greeny on the other hand looked like a nervous wreck, it made sense all these other kids were just now being able to use their quirks in school. Aizawa called blasty up to the front and handed him a softball and explained that they would be seeing how far they could throw the ball.
Blasty stepped up and screamed, “DIE!!”. Aizawa turned and showed them the device he was holding, it read 705.2 meters. Some kids gasped in shock and awe looking excited.
The first test was the 50 meter dash which Shoto made sure to get an average score. Since he was homeschooled he didn’t have other records to compare to, so this would be his first. Finally it was time for the throwing test. Floaty got infinity so that was cool he guesses, but now it was time for his turn. How fun.
===========================================================
Aizawa has been watching all of his new students closely. This year something felt different, except for one he’ll have to see if he can ask Nezu to get him expelled. One student had surprised him when he saw the name on his list of students. Shoto Todoroki, the #2 hero’s son was in his class. What was most surprising was that Shoto was simply doing average on his tests so far, not looking like he was really trying. Aizawa had been more focused on the fact that Bakugo looked like he wanted to kill Midoriya. Now as Shoto stepped up Aizawa was intrigued as to what he would do. Shoto lifted the softball up with his left hand and held it there for a second like he was waiting for something, then he threw it. Aizawa looked at the device, it read 707.5 he nodded and gestured for the next student to come up. Which was the one and only, the one who had broken all of his bones in the entrance exam, Midoriya.
========================================
Shoto stopped paying attention after his turn, more focused on developing a schedule that could balance vigilantism, training, and school. He was broken from his thoughts by an explosion and the sound of surprised screams. He blinked slowly, turning his head when he saw someone standing behind the wall, trying to hide. A villain… no that’s… All Might?! That’s… interesting. Maybe he’s a teacher here. Anyways the explosion, apparently blasty tried to attack greeny, who now had a broken finger. Aizawa’s eyes were red, his hair floated above his head, and he had his scarf holding blasty back. Aizawa let him go and then told them he was revealing the scores. The class seemed to collectively hold their breath… oh yeah the whole expulsion thing.
“Also, I was lying about expelling someone.” The class gasped, eyes wide.
Ponytail had the same idea Shoto did, “Well of course it was. Didn’t take much to figure that out.”
Classes ended for the day and everyone was sent home. Shoto wasn’t looking forward to training with Endeavor. Being asked what he learned and having to figure out what’s right to say.
===================================================
Endeavor arrived home an hour after Shoto and immediately called him to the training room. Shoto sighed and stopped his own training, which included trying to find more ways to make his quirk discreet. He quickly got changed and stretched then he walked down. When he got there Endeavor was pacing, his mood unreadable. Shoto stood as calmly as he could trying not to make the slightest noise.
“How did school go?” Endeavor asked. And it sounded so weird coming from his mouth that Shoto almost laughed.
Instead he replied, “Fine.”
“Good. So have you gotten over your stupid teenage rebellion and use your fire?”
Shoto glared at him and spoke, “I will never use your quirk.”
Endeavor’s eyes filled with fury and he sent a wave of fire towards Shoto. Training seemed to be dialed up today Endeavor seemed to hit harder, yell louder, and have flames hotter. Shoto felt like he was about to pass out by the time Endeavor started to slow down.
“Alright Shoto, that’s enough training for today.” Endeavor said simply and just… walked out of the room. Like he hadn’t just trained him harder than he ever had before.
Shoto sighed, there was nothing he could do. He went up to his room and started cleaning his wounds, waiting for Endeavor and Fuyumi to fall asleep.
It was nearly midnight when he managed to slip out of the house and run to the warehouse. When he got there he quickly got ready and practically flew up to the rooftops, hoping to relieve some stress. He ran around for a bit stopping a couple crimes here and there before he spotted him. Eraserhead sitting on the rooftop next to his. Shoto was about to turn and run away, but before he could Aizawa called out.
“I’m not here to catch you. I just want to talk.”
Shoto thought about it for a second before turning towards Aizawa and nodding. He was skeptical but was confident enough in his ability to outrun him if he needed to.
==========================================
Aizawa sighed in relief when Fuyuko turned and nodded, he wasn’t actually sure she would listen. He motioned for her to come closer, she looked at him in exasperation and walked to the edge of the roof and sat down. He sat down across from her trying to figure out what to say.
“Is there something you wanted to ask me about, Eraserhead?” She asked him, calm as ever.
“Why would you become a vigilante when you have great potential to be a hero?”
Notes:
I swear I’ll get to Shoto interacting with his classmates soon 😭 anyways I hope you enjoyed lmk what you think <3

Chapter Text
“Why would you become a vigilante when you have great potential to be a hero?”
Shoto blinked, that was his question? That was what Eraserhead stopped him for? Shoto was mad, he knew that his anger wasn’t really directed at Aizawa. Not really, but that didn’t matter at the moment.
“Not all of us can do what we want, Eraserhead.” He did want to be a hero. And he was going to school for it, but he wanted to be an underground hero like Eraserhead. Not like how Endeavor was going to make him be.
“Is it money? There are programs that can help with that.”
Shoto sighed, Aizawa didn’t know. That wasn’t his fault he needed to stay calm, “No, but there’s nothing you or anyone else can do.”
=================================================
Aizawa was confused, Fuyuko couldn’t become a hero… why? It wasn’t money. Family?
Fuyuko clearing her throat snapped him out of his thoughts. She looked at him and said, “If that’s all then I still have a bit of patrolling to do.”
“Sure. But before you go, what do you think about training with me? Just so that I know you’ll be safer when patrolling.”
She looked shocked, “Sure, when and where would you want to do that?”
“How about 2:30 AM every other day in the field near Endeavors agency?”
Fuyuko froze for a moment. Then she clapped her hands and smiled, “I’ll be there then. Bye, Eraserhead.”
He waved goodbye and sighed. He wanted to know what was going on with Fuyuko.
======================================
Shoto arrived home at 4 AM, created an alarm, and immediately laid down trying to sleep. He was kind of mad at Eraserhead, near Endeavors agency, really? Out of all places? Oh well. Just as he seemed to close his eyes his alarm went off. He groaned and got ready then ran out the door before Endeavor could catch him.
==================================
When Shoto got to school there were more people there than there were yesterday. There was Ida, ponytail, blasty, greeny, and Aizawa-sensei. He sat down in his seat and focused on staying awake. When class started Aizawa-sensei told them that they were going to Ground Gamma. When the class got there Aizawa left and said that they would have a different teacher for this class. Shoto and surprisingly greeny were the only ones not shocked that All Might was said teacher.
All Might told them to change into their hero costumes. Shoto was also suddenly very glad that Fuyumi had forced him to change his costume. Now his costume was more like his vigilante outfit. He didn’t really care for anyone else’s (greeny’s costume was rather ugly though).
Greeny and floaty were up against Ida and blasty first. Blasty seemed to hate greeny if what happened yesterday was true. Shoto wasn’t really paying attention to the fight when gasps sounding out made him pay attention again. Greeny and blasty were at a standoff with part of greeny’s costume scorched off.
Blasty was yelling at greeny and then greeny and floaty won. Anyways now it was Shoto’s turn. He was paired up with mask guy and they were against Hagakure and Ojiro.
Shoto sent mask guy outside and froze the building. He felt kind of bad but he was tired and just wanted to get this over with. He walked up the stairs to where Ojiro was frozen.
“Fighting without the soles of your feet sounds painful. But attack me if you want.”
Shoto touched the bomb and started heating up the building, “Sorry about that. We’re in different leagues,” and with that the round was over.
==========================================================
Aizawa was looking over the class reports before his patrol. Apparently Bakugo and Midoriya fought again, this time in training but All Might said that he supposed there was more going on. How fun (they were now known to him as Problem Child 1 & 2 respectively).
With that Aizawa was off to stop some crime before he starts training with Fuyuko. He arrested a man for robbing a cafe and gathered some information on a seperate case he was a part of. Then he finally arrived at the field. He looked around and noticed a figure hiding behind a tree near the edge of the field. All of a sudden the figure moved and it was pretty easy to figure it out once Aizawa saw the cape. He waved and waited as Fuyuko cautiously made her way to him.
“Hello,” Aizawa said.
“Hey.”
“So any areas that you think specifically need work or just overall?”
She considered it for a moment, “I don’t know. Maybe just general until we find something that I really need to work on…”
She sounded unsure but Aizawa thought that it was a good plan, “Yes that sounds fine. So you’ll just try to attack me like I’m a villain who’s… robbing a store.” He backed up to give Fuyuko room.
“Well what kind of store is it? And what kind of thief are you?”
Aizawa blinked and stepped forward again, “What do you mean?”
“Well if it’s just a guy trying to get food for his family then I’ll confront him and help him out. If it’s some guy trying to steal something that is unnecessary or something then I’ll make sure to arrest them.” She explained in a calm voice.
“Oh. I’m a… guy trying to steal from an electronic store because I’m bored.”
Fuyuko smiled, “Okay then”, she started backing up.
Aizawa turned away and started running away when a mist started to shoot out towards him. He turned and saw the mist falling from her as she jumped and ran silently towards him. She suddenly jumped up, with a boost from her quirk and sent out her right hand.
Aizawa didn’t see anything but as Fuyuko slowly fell down it started getting harder to move. Like his limbs were freezing up. Soon he couldn’t move at all but when Fuyuko got close to him he saw a slight frost on her face.
“So what’s your quirk? Ice? Temperature control?”
She gave a small laugh like she knew something he didn’t, “Let’s go with temperature control.”
With that Aizawa and Fuyuko sparred for a bit before they got tired and went back to their homes.
===========================================
When Shoto got home he almost immediately passed out. When he woke up though it was to a light knock on his door. He sat up and rubbed his eyes, it must’ve been Fuyumi, Endeavor would never be that gentle. He hummed still to tired to form words.
“Shoto, dad has an early patrol and I figure you don’t want to have morning training. So if you would like to miss that I suggest you leave now,” she looked apologetic but she had a small smile.
“Ok.”
She smiled softly and walked out of Shoto’s room, closing the door with a small click. Shoto started getting ready, fumbling through his quick morning routine only to check the time to see that it was 6:43 AM. He sighed and dragged a hand down his face and walked outside waving goodbye to Fuyumi as he left the house.
Shoto walked for a bit before deciding to go to a local park. When he got there he saw a familiar person. They had green hair and was looking around with their backpack in his arms. Now, Shoto wasn’t a social person but he was bored and if anything he could call it “gathering information on competition”. So he walked over to where greeny was and sat on a bench near him.
Greeny turned and his eyes landed on Shoto, lighting up in recognition, “Hey! Todoroki right? We’re in class together!”
Shoto looked up at him and nodded, “Midoriya, right?”
Greeny looked surprised but nodded happily, “Yup! Can I sit next to you? This is where I wait for my bus, but I'm a bit early today.”
Shoto nodded and rubbed his eyes again.
“So what’s up? I haven’t heard you talk to anyone yet, but I heard you were pretty cool in the battles yesterday. I wish I could’ve been there but,” he held up his arm that had bandages wrapped around it, “I was at Recovery Girl’s. But I heard you have an ice quirk! That’s so cool! What’s it like? Are there drawbacks? Side effects?” Midoriya rambled excitedly.
Shoto felt overwhelmed with all the questions and his face must’ve shown it because Midoriya stopped and looked away in embarrassment.
“Sorry! I have a habit of rambling.”
“…It's ok. I don’t mind at all.” Shoto wasn’t lying, it was nice to have someone fill in the silence that he doesn’t know how to fill.
Midoriya turned to him so fast Shoto thought he might get whiplash, “Really? You don’t mind? Well that’s good! I hope we can be friends Todoroki-kun!” Midoriya beamed at him.
“Oh, uh, we can be friends if you would like.” Shoto hoped he was doing this right.
Just as he said this though, the bus pulled up and Midoriya stood up, “Oh! My bus is here… Hey Todoroki-kun, would you like to ride the bus to school with me today? I’ll pay for it so you don’t have to worry,” the smile that Midoriya gave him was far too bright to let Shoto refuse.
“Um sure,” Midoriya’s smile seemed to somehow get brighter as they walked onto the bus, “I can pay you back if you like.”
Midoriya shook his head, “No, it’s fine! I enjoy talking to you! That’s enough payment. And actually, would you like to join me at lunch? It’s just me, Ida, Uraraka, and Tsuyu,” he asked with a small laugh.
All Shoto could do is nod and with that the conversation goes on. Which is actually mostly Midoriya talking and Shoto nodding and adding small answers when needed.
He still found himself somehow (not smiling or even showing it) enjoying it, and actually felt himself calm down a bit forgetting about how tired he was.
Notes:
I hope this was good and I would like to know what you think. Im sad that I forgot to add an idea before the school year started in this but I think it’s fine. Hope you enjoyed! :)

Chapter Text
Midoriya got to the school gates with his new friend Todoroki walking a bit behind him. When he looked closer he saw that they were news reporters. Midoriya shuffled through them with Todoroki following him. He muttered apologies as he made his way through the crowd.
When they got to the front of the crowd a woman shoved a microphone in Midoriya’s face and asked him, “What is it like being taught by All Might?”
Midoriya sputtered in surprise and tried to think of an answer. Just as he came up with a vague answer Todoroki grabbed his hand and shoved his way through, grabbed his card, and got them through the gates that slammed behind them.
Todoroki let go of his hand and looked down at him, “Sorry about that.”
“It’s fine Todoroki-kun! But I need to go to the nurses office, so why don’t you head to class.”
“Oh, do you want me to walk you there?” Todoroki asked.
Midoriya blinked but then he smiled and nodded, “Yeah sure! Let’s hurry though, I wouldn’t want to be late to class.”
When they got there Midoriya opened the door and gestured for Todoroki to come in.
“One second, dear,” Recovery Girl said from where she was sitting at her computer.
Midoriya sat down on the bed and watched as Todoroki looked around the office. Midoriya picked at his bandages and waited.
“Okay, Midoriya, I’ll take your bandages off and you’ll be off,” Recovery Girl turned and saw Todoroki leaning against the wall, “And who’s your friend here?”
“Oh! That’s Todoroki, he walked me here,” Midoriya replied, looking at Todoroki happily.
She nodded and started taking off the bandages, “And does Todoroki here need anything?” She turned and looked at Todoroki, “And what about that… mark over your eye?”
==============================================
Shoto was 5 when he learned he would have to lie practically his whole life
“Shoto! Don’t ever mention that your scar is from that woman! We have a private doctor and so I have made it so that you have no medical history, so whatever you tell them they will have to believe.”
Endeavor was a cruel man.
============================================
Shoto said nothing and for a second Midoriya was scared he just wouldn’t respond, but then, “I’m fine, it’s just a birthmark,”
That piqued his interest, Midoriya was curious where it had come from. Midoriya had plenty he wanted to talk about with Todoroki-kun, so he was glad that he agreed to have lunch with them.
===========================================
Shoto waited until Recovery Girl was done and then walked with Midoriya to class. Luckily they were both fast walkers so they made it back with some time to spare. Shoto just sat down at his seat remembering how tired he was. Midoriya dragged Ida, Uraraka, and Tsuyu over to his desk and introduced them.
“This is Uraraka, Ida, and Tsuyu!”
“Call me Tsu,” Tsu said, staring at Shoto intensely.
“I’m Shoto Todoroki, call me what you like.”
The conversation floated from siblings to past school stuff (both of which Shoto didn’t participate in, from not knowing his siblings well enough -and the one he did know was dead-, and the fact that he was homeschooled). Then Aizawa-sensei got there and scolded Midoriya and blasty. Next he announced that they were doing something else. Unease spread through his classmates, but it was soon replaced by excitement when it was revealed that it was picking a class president. Immediately people started shouting and raising their hands, wanting to be picked for president.
Ida said something to the class and the next thing Shoto knew a piece of paper was set down in front of him. He looked around, confused, when suddenly he felt a tap on his shoulder. He suppressed a flinch and turned to where ponytail was.
“Hello I’m Momo Yaoyorozu, you look confused. We’re taking a vote on who should be class president,” she whispered to him.
He stared (damn was he really that readable) and then nodded, “Thank you.”
There were two boxes on the paper, one for class president and the other for vice president. He filled out the first box with the name Ida Tenya and the second Momo Yaoyorozu. He set down His pencil and closed his eyes listening to the small noises that people made. Eventually Ida stood up and collected everyone’s papers and added up all the votes on the chalkboard.
Midoriya got three votes, Momo got two votes, and Ida only got one. Oh well, it will work itself out. Midoriya was all shaky when he got to the front of the class, Shoto honestly didn’t hate him but he also couldn’t see Midoriya as class president.
========================================
Shoto walked with Midoriya, Ida, Uraraka, and Tsu to lunch and found a table away from the others for them to sit at. He didn’t care to eat much of his lunch that day, so he mainly listened to the conversation about how Ida came from a pro heroes family. Shoto looked out the window and spotted the crowd of reporters from earlier split as one person, wearing all black walked up to the gate.
“Hey speaking of hero children, Todoroki aren’t you-?” Midoriya was cut off as an alarm blared.
Screams broke out and people started rushing out of the cafeteria sweeping up Uraraka, Ida, and Midoriya, leaving Tsu and Shoto alone.
Tsu looked panicked, so Shoto tried to help calm her down, “It’s fine, it’s just the news reporters,” (did he forget to mention that he sucked at calming people down?).
Tsu looked at him and gave him a shaky smile, “Yeah we’ll be fine. Oh, is that Kaminari and Kirishima?”
Shoto turned and saw two people near the entrance of the cafeteria one with yellow hair and a black highlight and the other with red spiky hair. He briefly remembers overhearing spiky say his name to blasty so he must be Kirishima and the other one must be Kaminari.
“Yeah.”
“Should we go save them?” Tsu asked Shoto.
Shoto nodded and they headed towards the entrance of the almost empty cafeteria. Tsu called out to them and their heads snapped towards them. They stuck their hands out and cried out for help. Shoto grabbed a hand from either one and pulled them out of the crowd.
They stumbled a bit and dusted themselves off. They looked at Shoto and Tsu and thanked them.
“That was crazy, thanks for getting us out of there!” Kaminari exclaimed, smiling.
“Yeah! That was totally manly of you!” Kirishima replied.
Tsu frowned, “The reporters are leaving. Looks like the adults handled it.”
Kaminari and Kirishima turned and looked while Shoto simply hummed, distracted by what was going on in the hallway.
“Look.”
The others turned and saw what was going on, which was Ida floating up and flying towards the exit sign. The hall seemed to fall silent as Ida declared something that calmed everyone down. They all slowly dispersed and headed into their respective classrooms.
They walked back to the classroom together chatting about anything that came to mind.
Shoto sat down and listened to Midoriya explain that Ida was their new class president. The rest of the day was boring so he was just waiting until the day was over.
==================================
When Shoto got home he found Fuyumi waiting for him, “Shoto! Are you alright? I heard something happened at school today,” she looked at him worriedly.
“I’m fine, it was just the press.”
She sighed in relief and hugged him. Shoto froze for a second before slowly patting her on the back. She pulled away and declared that she was making him a snack. He thanked her and went up to his room to finish some homework. He also worked on some light quirk training, which was him trying to freeze specific parts of something, so instead of Shoto freezing an entire person he could just freeze their arm.
Shoto was making progress when he heard a small knock on the door. He quickly discarded any evidence and hummed. He heard the door open and Fuyumi’s light steps.
“Shoto, I made you some cold soba!” Fuyumi set a tray down on his desk.
“Ah, thank you Fuyumi.”
She smiled at Shoto and walked out.
=======================================
When Endeavor got home Shoto immediately got ready for training. As he walked down to the training room he heard Fuyumi talking to someone on the phone.
“Yeah, it’s all going well mom.”
Shoto’s heart stopped for a second. He sped away and let out a shaky breath. It was stupid really. He didn’t know why he was… scared? He didn’t know and he hated it.

Chapter Text
When Shoto got to the training room he saw his father pacing angrily.
Endeavor saw him and immediately began questioning him, “What was it that happened at school today?”
Shoto reported to him what happened as he was taught to. He left out the part about getting Kirishima and Kaminari. And the part about having lunch with Midoriya’s friends. Okay, so maybe he left out a lot, but in Shoto’s defense Endeavor would kill him if he knew that he was going against his rules.
Endeavor simply nodded and started to tell Shoto the plan for today’s training session, which meant that it was going to be more difficult than usual.
“Today you are going to focus on getting a hit on me. I won’t move so all you have to do is land a hit on me. I'm sure you can do that, right?”
That last part was said mockingly. Endeavor was purposely trying to make him mad. Shoto realized this and composed himself.
Endeavor backed up a bit, got into a stance, and shot a smaller version of Hell Spider that, fortunately for Endeavor (and unfortunately for Shoto), took less energy to perform.
Shoto quickly jumped back and shot out a large wall of ice, which didn’t hold up long against the long, fire tendrils.
Shoto quickly hopped and dodged through the fire, getting closer and closer to Endeavor.
Just as he was about to shoot another wave of ice, Endeavor turned and held out a hand, clearly about to shoot fire.
From where Shoto was positioned the fire would hit his left side, so it wouldn’t burn him, permanently.
Despite that, it would still really hurt.
Time seemed to slow, and Shoto realized that the only way he could counteract was if he were to shoot fire Endeavor instead.
But there was no way he would do that, it would be going against everything he has done to rebel against Endeavor.
So, he braced himself and squeezed his eyes shut as the fire closed in on him.
The next thing Shoto knows, he’s lying against the wall.
His ears are ringing, his vision is fuzzy, and he's in a lot of pain, but he has to stand back up.
He looks up and sees Endeavor walking towards him.
Shoto struggles to stand up and ends up leaning on the wall for support before pushing off and stumbling forward a bit.
Endeavor was closing in on him, and Shoto needed to defend himself. So he shot out a weak blast of ice, and stumbled forward a bit more.
Endeavor quickly closed the distance and threw Shoto behind him.
Shoto inhaled sharply and rolled to avoid hurting himself further. As he landed in a crouched position he coughed, feeling out of breath. The pain from the fire was dull now, so he shot out more waves of ice. He looked down for a brief moment and saw his hands were collecting frost.
But he couldn't focus on any of that right now, he had to attack again.
“That's enough. Go back to your room, no dinner tonight.”
Shoto held in a sigh and walked as steadily as he could to his room.
================================
When Shoto finally staggered into his room he almost collapsed on his bed, but he managed to make it to the small bathroom that was connected to his room.
He looked into the mirror and let out a small sigh, his face had pretty obvious red patches. He brought a hand up to touch one of them and winced a bit. The spots burned so he washed them lightly, ignoring the sting of the soap.
=======================================
After laying down for a while Shoto decided that he couldn't be in that stupid house anymore, so he left to go to the warehouse.
When he got there he got ready and sat down to apply his makeup. But when he put it onto one of the patches it stung. He glared at the mirror (like that would solve his problems) before he just decided to bear it and finished applying the makeup.
When he hopped out onto the rooftops he immediately saw a robbery at some café that he had been to a few times before (he was a regular).
Which, like, offended him personally.
Because they were open at night it meant that he could get tea (and maybe coffee if he was really tired) on patrol. So the fact that those robbers decided to go for that coffee shop was rude.
Shoto hopped down and entered the café through a broken window. He quickly spotted a robber pointing a gun at the cashier and another robber pointing a knife at the few remaining customers.
He lunged forward at the one with the gun and wrestled it out of their hands. The guy struggled for a moment before Shoto managed to hop back with the gun.
Now everybody in the café had their attention on him. He nodded to the cashier (who he happened to know decently) and they discreetly pressed an emergency call button, so a hero would now be on their way, which meant that Shoto needed to hurry it up.
Shoto quickly shot the guy (in the leg) who was originally holding the gun, which was, if Shoto was being honest, a terrible decision.
That being a terrible decision was further proven by the fact that he now had a stab wound.
Not for the first nor the last time, but still always a bitch to deal with.
He bit his tongue and pushed the guy that stabbed him -a hate crime against Shoto honestly- off of him and onto the ground.
Right as he was about to freeze the robbers a familiar gray scarf wrapped him and the robbers up into the air.
Shoto turned his head towards Aizawa and saw a very obviously unimpressed look.
“Fuyuko, what are you doing?”
Shoto smiled and simply replied, “You know, just, hanging out,” the knife wound getting jostled at that moment causing him to wince was a paid actor.
Aizawa hummed and let Shoto fall down.
Shoto glared at him before going over to make sure the customers were ok and escort them out.
After they were all gone he went to the cashier, “Hello Nao, are you alright?”
Nao nodded, looking a bit pink, “Hello Fuyuko, I'm alright. Are you okay, though? That knife wound looks pretty bad.”
“Ah, it's actually a pretty mediocre one.” Shoto replied, “You look… pink, are you really alright?”
That only seemed to make Nao pinker and she nodded, “Perfectly fine! but , would you like me to make you your regular drink from hell?”
Shoto put a hand on his chest, took a step back, and gasped, “How dare you! It is a perfectly normal drink!”
“Dude, it has 800 milligrams of caffeine, that is double the normal amount,” Nao said, exasperated, “You have the most unhinged order I have taken, and I have worked here for 4 years.”
Shoto’s argument was cut short by someone clearing their throat behind him. He turned around to see Eraserhead walking away from the robbers.
“Oh. Hello Eraserhead! Everything go well?” Shoto said, grabbing his drink from Nao.
“Yes, is your wound alright?” he asked, pointing to the knife sticking out of Shotos shoulder.
“Mhm. It didn't hit any arteries or anything,”
Shoto took a sip of his drink, and only due to his years of suppressing flinches, did he manage to not spit out or spill his drink when Aizawa picked him up by his scarf.
Shoto went with it and waved to Nao as he was dragged out of the café.
When they got out to the field he was finally set down, Aizawa then turned to glare at him.
“I don't know what to say to you right now,” Aizawa sighed and closed his eyes, “Fuyuko, just in case, what’s your type?”
Shoto glanced up and smiled, “Anyone that acknowledges my existence in a positive way.”
Aizawa stared at him blankly for a moment before he started pacing around, “You were stabbed!”
Shoto looked at him, and then, completely deadpan, he said, “What gave it away?” as he pulled out the knife.
==============================
Aizawa turned to watch Fuyuko as she started talking right before he was going to scold her again. She pulled out the knife, completely deadpan.
He managed to stare at her blankly for a moment before she fainted.
Notes:
Also, thank you for all the lovely comments, I love receiving them and they motivate me to write.
Sadly I am, in fact, too afraid to answer them, but I do see them and appreciate them!
And, yes Shoto did somehow manage to get a random, bisexual, cashier to fall in love with him.
(in case you were wondering)Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed! <3
