“You need to tell me to go, Ariel,” he breathed against her lips. His voice got stronger, pulling his head away and revealing a few inches of space between them, “You need to tell me to get out,” he said, looking between her and the door. She shook her head emphatically. He gave a small chuckle, that was more frustrated than humored. “I cannot stay.”
His hands left hers and found the space he was aching to touch all day, the back of her delicate neck, where her hair weighted around his fingers as he threaded them through, gently grasping her head in his hand, marveling at her beauty. He swallowed deeply. “I cannot stay because I want too much,” he said.
Eric is far too caught up in his feelings to let the night be over after falling in the lagoon. Battling sleep, he knocks on Ariel's door to confront his fascination with her.
