Work Text:
She was hurting him. Just like what she did to her friend, Peter. The pain was palpable in those brown eyes, the ones she usually got just so lost in. It was almost too much to bear, the feeling cutting so deep that it’ll definitely leave scars.
“I-I didn’t know… how to tell you.” Her throat was tight, eyes pinched as tears welled up. She hadn’t wanted it to come to this. But the Spiders were never that lucky.
Especially when it came to the people they love.
Like right now. It felt like she was losing him all over again. Gwen didn’t want to lose him, not again.
Never again.

“What I always think… you’re amazing.”
It always felt so surreal, being next to him. Hearing his voice, feeling his touch, and seeing him with her own eyes. Gwen kept falling and was waiting for him to catch her.
The skyscraper skyline was a sight she would never tire of, as long as she had Miles. And he had her.
But they don’t have each other. Not yet anyway.
Did she screw that chance up though? She hurt him, and in turn that destroyed her.
Gwen wants to fix this. Before she loses him forever. She as well might, for he isn’t here.
The room is empty, Miles not in sight and her heart aches because of it. Spider sense tells her something is wrong, so wrong and danger.
Danger.
DANGER, HE’S IN DANGER!
Miles is in the wrong universe, world 1610 is without their one and only Spider-Man. Gwen breathes heavily, pupils shrinking as she comes up with the worst scenarios that could take him away from her.
She assures his parents about his love for them, that she’ll find him because she knows where to start. She’ll bring him home.
Even if it means Gwen won’t ever see him again, the last time she’ll be able to enjoy his company.
She wants to patch their broken web before she goes though. She would regret if she didn’t at least try, for she loves him far too much.
“In every other universe, Gwen Stacy falls for Spider-Man. And in every other universe… it doesn’t end well.”
Well, it’s a first time for everything, right?
