Chengmei sighed as he went to work again that day, at a job he didn't really like...but at least it kept his mind off things. He was working at a maid cafe, but like a reverse maid cafe as it was all guys. He didn't really have a problem with cafes or maid outfits. The reason he didn't like it was that he didn't want anyone seeing him in clothes like that except the one he loved. He didn't want anyone calling him cute except the person he loved. Well, people, there were two of them; not that he'd admit to having a thing for the one, no...
He was too angry at Song Lan to ever admit he'd had a crush on him when they were kids. Song Lan was three years older than him, while the other man he loved, Xiao Xingchen, was two years older than him. The twenty five year old sighed and shook his head...He focused on doing his job, trying to ignore the people he could while smiling at co workers that defended him from the others. Customers had a habit of thinking they were allowed to touch the staff...It was quite annoying, and Chengmei was honestly just about done with them.
He was two hours into his five hours shift when he heard the bell over the door make its little noise. He didn't look up, not thinking there was really any reason to look up. He figured it was just one of the usual customers, and he didn't feel like looking to see who it was. However, this proved to be a mistake, as he would have seen who it was before his body responded. Instead, instead he smelled their scents, and his body responded...He gasped and covered his mouth, shivering a bit as he took in the strong scents of an alpha and a sub alpha.
The sub alpha's scent wasn't as strong as the alpha's, but it was still a powerful scent. He felt his cheeks heat up and his body started to feel warm, everything working overtime including his mind. His wolf told him these were his mates, they were both his mates. His wolf, whom he referred to as Darksnow, begged him to go over to them, right now. He snorted and shook his head, trying to silence the wolf within though now the wolf was pawing to get out. He growled outwardly, and finally looked towards them just to quiet Darksnow a little bit.
He immediately froze up upon seeing who it was that his instincts and wolf were telling him were his mates. He began to shake now, with upset, rage, who knows but he was shaking. He let out a snarl, then a second, and Darksnow worriedly asked him what was wrong. He growled at the wolf to shut up, turning quickly to Tao (peach) Liu, who was talking to Bao (treasure or gem) Li (dark). He had always thought it interesting that their first names rhymed. He also found it funny that their surnames were one letter apart, one a letter longer than the other.
He giggled now as he thought of it, then shook his head and headed over to the two. He looked towards Ming Chen, whom was dealing with one of the less pleasant customers...He shook his head at this, catching Haoyu Zhang's eye a moment then looking to Tao and Bao. He waited for the two of them to stop talking, the two always having been close. He and the others had always speculated these two were actually a thing. They'd never outright asked the two if the two were together, but he and the others continued to speculate.
He waited a bit, and they finally both looked over at him.
He smiled and said "Bao, Tao...I need to go, so could you tell the manager?"
Tao sighed but nodded, and Bao patted him a bit.
Bao then smiled at A-Mei and said "Yes, we can."
A-Mei said "Thank you," with a sweet little smile.
They both nodded and waved him off.
He went to the back to change out of the uniform, and put it away in his bag.
He had his other clothes on now, so he checked his stuff.
His keys and everything were there, so he headed out.
He headed past everyone and towards the front door.
He was almost there when two hands stopped him, and he growled...
He narrowed his eyes when he saw it was Song Lan and A-Chen.
A-Chen smiled gently at him.
"We just want to talk," came the words.
