Chapter Text
If you want to keep a secret (You must also hide it from yourself)
In the darkest of the night, footsteps could be heard, heels clicking on the floor underneath. Someone was moving away, away from the crowd, trying to find solace, in being alone, letting the words flow out. Diary in her lap, surrounded by a soft golden glow, pen in her hand, she was ready to confess her truth. Knowing this would stay in this room, she began writing, conveying her deepest thoughts.
*****
In the confines of my secret dreams,
A love untold, like sunlight's gleam,
I pour my heart, inked on this page,
A silent tale, wrapped in tender sage.
Within these lines, whispered just for you,
Lies a love that seeks to break through,
Creeping softly, as shadows dance,
A clandestine yearning, a fateful chance.
With gentle strokes, the words unfold,
My emotions, like stories yet untold,
In an on-call where secrets reside,
My love for you, I'll no longer hide.
Like whispered echoes of a whispered breeze,
The truth within these lines, yours to seize,
A confession confined, yet waiting to soar,
Begging your heart to seek, to explore.
As a trembling heart speaks of lingering desire,
Into your world, like starlight, I aspire,
Though names I withhold, and veils conceal,
My love's true compass, only you can feel.
Brushing fingertips against the tender ink,
Enthralled by words, secrets that make you think,
I hope you find my heart's intimate plea,
For you my dear, it's always been about three.
May the lines dance upon your searching eyes,
Unveiling secrets held in a clandestine guise,
For within these pages, between your hands,
You'll find the love that silently expands.
Let the mystery unravel its cobwebbed scheme,
As you discover you love's unspoken theme,
For it is you, my dear, with whom I ache,
Whose presence I crave, whose touch I forsake.
So, dear diary, bear these words with pride,
For my love shall find them where secrets reside,
And in that moment, when our worlds align,
She'll know it's her love, that I've penned in each line.

As she closed her diary, she hadn't felt the tears well in her eyes, longing for something so close, yet so far. Her tears were slowly falling as she fell too, into a slumber for an hour or two. Putting her diary away, her feelings going with it, keeping them at bay.
